I must be the only person who didn't think The Ring was scary at all. Especially the Japanese version. It just never got to me. Mothman Propehcies was decently scary, I guess. I've always wanted to see Suspiria. I've never gotten around to it. I've heard nothing but good things, and there is a nice Collector's Edition DVD set out.

Those are the writings of Enoch. They aren't about aliens really, but he explains flying objects that people have twisted into alien/UFO stories to suit their own agendas.

Harvest Moon is set for October 6th. Preorder time :D

No. None whatsoever heh. I'm glad things have straightened out then. I added a bit more to that post to explain myself, in case you haven't read it. It's nothing personal :D

Then, in this case, wouldn't have it been easier to PM me (the one who closed it) and explain what you were doing? I mean, honestly, how would anyone know? I would have known right there, and adjusted what I've said. It's not as if more than 3 or 4 people had been in this section while it was all happening, no one would have noticed. I cannot just guess that you're going to do the right thing... especially when someone who triple posts, uses overly large banners and has cursing in his profile is the one involved. I don't think I can be blamed for not thinking the best in this situation. Blame it on some of the past members who have done similiar things and just became worse, and eventually banned. It's a matter of history, not some personal vendetta against you. I get your idea, and it's not a bad one. The fact that they might like it, and then you could point out "Hey it's a Manson song!" and then maybe they'd become enlightened or something lol. Trust me, I am used to people being weird towards me for simply liking this band. Perhaps I was slightly harsh (and if so, I apologize), but when you combine all of this with the fact that Manson has been a favorite of mine since the early 90s, it kind of hit a nerve. However, my job here is to make sure these forums are in order... so when I see some random person post a song, then post twice more complaining and not once ever even mentioning their purpose here... what am I supposed to think? I'll let you respond, and then I'll just close this... this is something that belongs more in PMs than its own thread in the poetry section. You can PM me and say whatever else it is you'd like. I have nothing personal against you at all, but I'd have to say you have to see where I am coming from here. Edit -- Added a bit more. I also changed the thread title back since you were bothered by it.

There are many random gospels no one takes as true scripture at this point. The Infant Gospels for example, which were about Jesus as a child and the abuse of his miraculous powers. I don't know how two unincluded books could really affect anyone's beliefs, but whatever.
-
This forum is about posting your own work. It's not about posting other people's work and not mentioning them whatsoever... then posting twice more complaining about how no one is responding to it. Not mentioning the band, who wrote it or anything else to that effect is pretty damn disrespectful in the first place, so don't talk to me about "respect". I do consider the things that were done there pretty pathetic because of that. It's not some personal jab at your own life. It's his song, considering you felt no need to credit him for it, I think a retitling is in order. Tell me, by not mentioning who the song was by in all three of those posts, how is anyone supposed to know what the hell your purpose was? All it looks like is plagiarism. If you wanted to discuss Marilyn Manson, there are far better ways to do it. Do you see any other threads in here doing such things? Instead, I get to read about Kiss and how you don't feel you had any need to mention it wasn't yours because you never said otherwise. In a world full of cheaters and plagiarists, I have to wonder how you think anyone would ever think otherwise.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Semjaza replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
I'm surprised they are going to air FLCL. I saw this when I watched Lupin III the other day. FLCL was one of the first threads I created here... well over a year ago. No one seemed to know much about it at the time heh. -
They get some bonus points for doing a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Goonies R Good Enough (Enuff)"... but other than that, I don't really care for them.
-
Crystal Chronicles was originally set to launch the same day as FFX-2. I understand delaying it some, but not a couple months... unless they are adding something to it for US release. Mario Golf comes out this coming Tuesday, for those who didn't know.

I had very, very few problems where characters got stuck. If they did, I'd address it. This is an SNES game. The fact that they did as much as they did was enough, and I can't expect perfect AI way back then. There are many games that limit item pick up... I suppose just to make the game a bit more difficult and realistic. People can't carry 99 potions on their own. 9 of each would have been nice, though. Legend of Mana was just a massive side quest game. It looked nice, it sounded nice... but there was nothing all that special about it in my opinion.
-
I made a thread on this way back... it seemed to make some people shorten their signature on their own, which was nice. The talk of signature limits has always revolved around lines, not characters, so I doubt you have anything to worry about.

The story in every single FF follows the same damn path as it is. You can't really say one is incredibly better than the other, they have the same basic plot lines. In recent times it has always gone from you fighting some sort of government/group to some sort of evil wizard/thing that threatens the universe. The Empire/Kefka, Shinra/Sephiroth, whatever (I forget)/Ultimecia, the Queen/Kuja and so on. It always turns out like this, and has since the fifth one at the least. Every single one of them can be described as the oldest story in the book by those lines, even if they do go off on some random tangent. It doesn't really make FF8 any less good story wise than the others in that sense. FFX looked nice. The battle and level up system was very good. Some of the characters were quite good... but the story was nothing special at all. Especially considering how crappy most of the voice acting and syncing was. Normally I don't even care about story all that much if the gameplay makes up for it, but if a game seems to pride itself on how well written and intelligent it is... I have to make an exception. I've not really enjoyed a FF game since FF6 (and that was marginally), but my favorite is still FF4.

A few things here. Read the rules. You cannot triple post. Your banner was too large, so you obviously didn't read that part either. You might also want to take all that offensive garbage out of your profile. And lastly, this isn't your poem. It's a Marilyn Manson song. I'm the biggest Manson fan here, but I'm sure most other people realize this isn't yours considering Dope Show was a rather successful single. Pretty pathetic. I'm deleting your other posts and locking this thread. Hopefully you can do something a bit more constructive around here or you won't be around long. At this point, I feel I'm being rather generous. I removed the retitling since you found it offensive.
-
I'd just find something more constructive to do with my time. I already have a wrist cutter shrine in my room, so I don't need OB for that.

Man, obviously no one likes them. They're so underground, I'm just waiting for them to break out and hit the mainstream. Obviously, selling millions of copies of their first big release just wasn't enough. Neither was the tons of radio and MTV play. I'm surprised anyone has heard of them.

People don't want real reality TV. If they did, they'd pay attention to their own crappy lives instead. Reality TV's basic idea at this point is putting people in weird unscripted situations (although sometimes I wonder how unscripted any of them are). It's not about following them around their house as they do everyday things. Even the first season of the Real World used rather realistic people, compared to now where people basically must all look perfect and be aspiring to be a movie star or actress. However, the same basic idea is the same. There is nothing real about sticking a bunch of people who never met in a house knowing they are being taped... no matter how you slice it.

You can't really use Back to the Future as a comparison because the writers have admitted that what they did would theoretically be impossible. They did it just for the sake of making a decent movie... Which I can agree with lol. I thought it was decent. I liked some of the comparions to T2 honestly. The bar scene, which was flipped around. The big truck against a small bike chase scene, and so on. The Terminatrix even ran the same as the T-100 (right?) in the last film. I was glad it was rather short though, because if it cleared two hours, I would have been bored out of my mind. The main problems I had with the film where the lame narrations (like in T2, but not nearly as insane sounding) and the lack of music in scenes I think really would have benefited from it, such as the chase scene with the crane. I heard some scene in the movie was so expensive that Arnold used $40 million of his own money to cover it. I figure it's that crane scene, but I'm not sure. Last thing... I was glad the hits actually looked hard in this movie. They're machines, so they don't really react to the blows... but they were done hard enough that you know they would hurt. Unlike Matrix Reloaded, for example, where the fights looked like ballerinas tapping eachother. That was my main problem with that movie.

Mist is alive... The Daria quote means she doesn't want to realize she was a slave to her job because she didn't get to make a good choice since people are forced into getting their main career in life at a comparably early age. If that even makes any more sense lol. My only goal in life is to be basically content. Whatever the hell that would consist of, I don't even know yet.

Did you watch Dateline the other night or something? lol

The AX memory card info is bogus. The problem is that any of the current AX machines in the US are Japanese models. Just like with GCN, the Japanese machines don't accept US cards. With the US machines, whenever they are released, the memory card thing will be intact. Nintendo itself has said so to a few people I trust (such as some writers at GMR and EGM). It's just a stupid assumption going around that seems to have no real factual base other than people messing with Japanese machines and the general belief that Nintendo loves to screw us over. So, unless something randomly changes, Nintendo has no plans to remove that feature at all. The unit is incredibly expensive as it is. I doubt most smaller places will have it. There are supposedly two models as well... one that moves and one that doesn't. I don't really know the price difference.

They're able to speak to the pets and so they say the pet needs and wants things it actually doesn't. What is the name of the groundskeeper that's Groundskeeper Willie's arch enemy?

Do U Think theotaku should have a Rurouni Kenshin Forum
Semjaza replied to Crazy Ace's topic in Help & Feedback
I have very little say in what goes in on Anime Lounge. It isn't my section, and to tell you the truth I couldn't care less about most anime. I let Shy and the other mods there take care of it unless there is some glaring problem I get to first. There is only one Kenshin thread, and currently it's at the bottom of the page. A number of the posts in it are complete crap as well. Most of the subforums seem to be created simply because AL is being bombarded by threads about that series. This really has never been a large problem with Kenshin that I've seen. If you want to go by post numbers in one single thread I can say we need a forum just for Caption Contests. It just doesn't work like that. Look at some of the current subforums that are barelyt being posted in on a regular basis anymore. I just can't see another one being made given how slow some of them are as it is. -
I am not going to bother closing this, as I'm sure someone else will if they feel it's a problem... but do we really need posts by people about what is spam and what isn't in every other thread here? I've seen this several times in the past few days. Hello? The anti-spam posts are just as spammy as the rest of it, especially considering they have nothing to do with the topic at hand at all. It doesn't help.
