1. I hoping TV eventually just kills itself. It's definitely on the way. I'm sure FOX will somehow make a reality TV gameshow out of this idea in the next several months. From the producers of Bachelorettes in Alaska and Mr. Personality.
2. You know, why don't we even have any animatronic rides around here? I can't think of one place that has any other than Disney-whatever, and that's not exactly an option.
3. You said "heck"!? Banned. No, there's nothing wrong with saying that lol.
4.
Originally posted by Magdalena Originally said by some important moderator I see this thread marks the return of the Harry cheerleading section.
If you're going to quote someone as important as myself, you could at least put my name. Anyway, I'll never know enough for it to matter and neither will any other guy on this planet. Therefore, it doesn't concern me in general... especially since every girl I've dated was strange for totally different reasons.
5. Well, you could always just stop yourself from doing it... lol. If you mean that you accidently post the same thing twice... Just don't click the submit button more than once, and that should take care of most of it.
6. His name is Bear... heh. Gah - He deleted his post or something, Dragon Warrior didn't double post. I always liked Beaker. Who knows why. I like the noise he makes. As for the Swedish Chef, anyone remember his cereal? That stuff was pretty good. Lisa: "Dad, what's a muppet?" Homer: "Well, it's not quite a mop, and it's not quite a puppet, but maaan. Hahahahahahahahahaaha... So to answer your question: I don't know."

The Used

I remember a few friends of mine talking about this band... Saying how good it was. This was a long while ago. I never bothered. Next thing I know, this girl I used to go out with was raving about them after their last CD came out. This is a girl who loves emo, but like the crappy kind you hear all over the radio. She only seems to like stuff when it gets popular enough to be played to death. So because of that, I was kind of turned off to them and never bothered. I guess I'll have to check them out, since you seem a lot more knowledgable about them then she ever will be lol.
8. I keep putting off piercings. I don't have the cash right now... plus right now I'm at my grandma's place while my mom is gone, I'd never hear the end of it. I have plans for a couple tattoos. I've always wanted an 8-bit looking sprite one. Maybe of Mega Man. My other idea was this drawing of three dice, all sixes, that I found a while back. My real plan is to get a Nightmare Before Christmas tattoo. It will cost me a hell of a lot of money and take a lot of time, but I'm going to go through with it eventually. Shy showed me this pictureone day. Something along the lines of this, but it most likely won't be as huge. I'd also like it to be different so I'm not directly copying this, but it all depends on what happens. So yeah, when I get this thing started... I'll let you know heh. It's just a matter of finding a good artist and saving the cash. At the very least, I'm getting a decent sized Jack Skellington. Either full body, or that head logo design they put on official merchandise.
9. It's a very good game. The Japanese name is Seiken Densetsu 2. Close enough heh. The first Seiken Densetsu was for Game Boy and was renamed Final Fantasy Adventure here to boost sales. That's being rereleased on GBA as Sword of Mana. Anyway, you didn't ask that, so eh lol. If you see it used, I'd pick it up. It's not exactly easy to find anymore, especially at some place like Gamestop. It's basically a real time RPG, although you can stop the action to get your character together. There are 3 characters, and you can play as any of them... the others will be computer controlled. The cool thing is that you can actually play 2 or 3 players with your friends if you want, it's a multiplayer game. So yeah, I'd grab it assuming it's not $40 or something. How much are they asking?
10.
Originally posted by Sara Does anyone else here frequent Six Flags Great America?
I don't many other than you or I. Doesn't seem like many live up here. Possibly Jenna when she is home? In any case... I always liked Batman there. Especially if you manage to get in the front row. Shockwave is my least favorite there. I always hurt my head on it. The thing shakes like crazy. The best coaster there, without a doubt, is Raging Bull. I think my favorite roller coaster is at Busch Gardens in Tampa or whatever it was. It's called Kuba... and since they doesn't have horrible lines like most places, I got to go on it several times. I've always wanted to go to Cedar Point too...
11. You have suicide spelled wrong in your sig :p I'm happy to see that Juu wound up liking Lacuna Coil heh. My favorite band is the Pixies. My favorite song, I really don't know. I am very partial to the Pixies' Motorway to Roswell, The Happening and Head On... and Bowie's Conversation Piece (which everyone should hear if they haven't, it's beautiful). My other bands that come close to the Pixies are Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie, Apocalypse Hoboken, The Doors, The Tea Party, Bad Religion and Queens of the Stone Age. All but one are rather well known, at the least. I don't think many less popular bands compare, and most of these are bigger for good reasons.
12. I think it's a good thread, personally. I consider music my blood, in a sense. It's one of the few things I actually need to function properly. I don't think I'll ever just stop liking music to this extent, and I probably will moreso in the future. I don't know if I'll like the same bands in the future. I think, for the most part, I will... because the bands I like don't really sing about things I'll get past in my life. Few of them are angsty kids singing about their horrible parents or how depressed they are. I used to be very into metal years back, and now I just don't give a crap about most of it. I was into punk for a bit... but now I just listen to pretty much anything that falls under the rock category, with an emphasis on hard rock and industrial. It just wasn't doing it for me anymore. In that sense, I think most everyone's music taste matures and they discover what really appeals to them. However, I don't think I'm ever going to stop listening to Bowie, NIN, Pixies, Cibo Matto, The Doors, (or hell even Manson, despite the subject matter), because they don't really address adolescent problems in the sense that many bands do. They're all almost timeless in a sense, because they all have songs you can relate to at any age that actually tell a story that matters in some way. So hopefully that addresses what you wanted it to. Edit - The other day some friends of my parents were over and they were talking about the Summer Sanitarium tour. "Blah, blah Metallica, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit..." I remarked "Three horrible bands." They just stared at me. These people are all well over 30. Metallica is one thing, as I simply don't like them now... But people this age liking those bands and actually thinking Kid Rock's "Cocky" is some musical marvel really makes no sense to me. My parents don't listen to this stuff. So I guess some people never really do change.
13. I see this thread marks the return of the Harry cheerleading section. In fact, it's the same damn person.
14. AOL owns Compuserve, they're basically the same at this point. Any problems one has like this will more than likely be reflected in the other.
15. Well, there goes the thread I was going to post heh. There are more impressive shots floating around, they're not at IGN for whatever reason. I don't see this mentioned, but there are going to be over 1,000 cards in the game. I imagine it won't get too repetitive, especially since you can form combos with them. As for dates... It's set to be released in December in Japan. I'd assume Spring in the US. Namco is also releasing Tales of Symphonia (set for release in the US too) and another RPG I forget the name of that was announced in the past week. The only way I think most FF gamers will try this game is if it was published by Square. I've seen little to indicate otherwise, considering other companies are making so many RPGs people seem to just be ignoring.
16. Earthbound. I don't think many other games even hold a candle to the bizarre music in this game. I have the entire soundtrack ripped from the cart in MP3 form. I love it.
17. I play constantly, and then don't for months. I popped it in today and various animals were mad at me for not being around for so long. One said they hadn't seen me for 4 months, another for 2. I must have spent 80% of my time picking all the damn weeds.
18. I buy all sorts of crazy stuff. I own books in the hundreds. I collect a good deal, and have wound up with lots of neat stuff like an original copy of Mein Klampf (with a Nazi stamp), a second edition of Uncle Tom's Cabin and some first prints of Longfellow's poetry books to name a few. It's a nice hobby. I never really spent more than $40 on a book though. There's an entire cubby hole full of them. Music, I buy many CDs at a time. Same with DVDs. I don't have tons, but I have a decent amount. Most are listed here http://www.guzzlefish.com/collection.php?username=semjaza&x=19&y=7 but the list is incomplete. Anime... The most expensive thing I bought anime wise was some Ranma 1/2 set for $90. I refuse to buy those region free bootleg versions of those online sites I see people here talk about. I also paid $65 for that 3x3 Eyes DVD set (which I returned since it didn't work, bleh) Games... Well systems cost a lot in general. The most I ever spent on a game was going to be $75 for Chrono Trigger back when it was new. People try to tell you games were cheaper back then, but that's a bunch of crap. For whatever reason it rang up for $25, so I was happy and didn't complain. System glitch I guess. Art supplies are expensive too. Markers in particular. I spent about $95 total on all the Prisma Color stuff I needed. The most expensive thing I personally bought is my 36" Wega HDTV. I bought it spur of the moment, which really pissed off my mom. It was close to $2,000 when all was said and done (including warranties, cables and a progressive scan DVD player). I'm happy with it. The second most expensive thing I bought was a Nikon Coolpix 4500 camera. That ran about $650 at the time, although I sometimes still see it for like $800. Clothes... Screw clothes. I don't pay more than $15 for a shirt, if I can help it. My shoes are converse and run about $30 if I'm unlucky. I mostly just buy stuff I don't need. I like messing around with the stuff I buy though, and I definitely think I get my money's worth. Electronics and such. I don't think I'd care if I didn't get to have it (in fact, in recent months I've bought very little), but I enjoy it all.

20. I don't usually go to sleep until 3 or 4 AM. There's usually a breaking point for me, where being tired turns into me physically hurting. I try to go to sleep before that because it usually takes me days to get over it. Hey, my 3,000th post. I'm officially a loser, officially.

Bad Boys 2

I never like when scenes are shown in trailers that don't show up in the movies. Anyone remember Orange County? Nearly the entire commercial wasn't even in the damn film. I saw this yesterday against my own will. I've never seen the first one... and the horrible reviews this film was getting didn't exactly make me more interested. It was a solid movie, I thought. You can't expect the most mind blowing thing ever from a buddy cop film, but it did what it did very well. There were some great shoot out scenes as well as some unconventional car chases that were really well done, I thought. The special effects were pretty damn good too. I never really thought any of the violence looked all that fake (blood and body parts in particular), which is kind of rare for me. I was surprised by how freaking long it was, though. We were in the theater for 3 hours. No more than 15 minutes were taken up by previews and commercials. I thought it was going to wrap up and end three times, but it just kept finding new things to go with. That doesn't mean it drags, because I was pretty damn entertained throughout the whole film. There were some really funny moments and the action was solid. My only gripes is that a good deal of the dialogue just sounded so stilted and idiotic. Especially Lawrence's family at the start. It just didn't seem right. There's also sometimes an excessive amount of gross things going on, but hell... I liked that. Just a heads up for people who don't heh. Anyway, good movie. Liked it better than The Hulk, and I probably would have liked it better than Pirates of the Carribean if Depp didn't save it from becoming a long running, mediocre movie.
22. I'm skipping FFX-2. It's supposedly only about 10 hours long and full of fan service. Not exactly something I'd love. The actual changes to the gameplay sound refreshing though. Jak and Daxter was just a really dull game I thought, but the sequel looks fairly entertaining. I never liked Rachet and Clank. The only thing mentioned so far that I'm interested in in the slightest is Chaos Legion, which apparently turned out very well. I'm also looking forward to Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution. It includes VF: 10th Anniversary too. The best part is that it will be replacing the Greatest Hits version of the normal VF4, which means it will be only $20. Yay. The game I'm probably most anticipating on PS2 is Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2. The first is probably the best game on the system, in my opinion. I might wind up getting this for Xbox though, so who knows. There really isn't much coming up on PS2 for a while that I care about. Shin Megami Tensei 3 and Dragon Warrior VIII are a long ways off (if SMT3 is even released, Atlus hasn't said yet).

spy kids 3

The first couple movies weren't all that bad. I don't really know what sort of quality you guys are expecting from a spy spoof aimed at little kids.
24. Wait a second. I thought you all saw this? I didn't post it because I figured that's what you guys were talking about in the last thread about this series... the trailer is like four months old at least, by now.
