That still sounds a lot like something I said above: "You just have to watch out. It depends on where you are getting this SP from, as you didn't provide a link to where you are buying from. There are many pyramid scheme sites on the internet where they are like "Buy a PS2 for $20!," when in reality you put up $20 and hope that eventually 15 other people sign up and pay as well. If they don't? No PS2 for you." I have a feeling it works that way. And really, I personally do consider those types of things a scam. There's really no guarantee lol. You're better off buying it for twice as much and bringing it home the next day heh.

The name of the game is a relevent topic lol. It's still discussion involving the game. I think we talked about Pokemon Box in the old Pokemon GC thread... as well as the stuff about the RPG from Genius Sorority and Creatures that was rumored. Box seems rather useless... I mean, do people really need software to store tons and tons of Pokemon and organize them? Perhaps some people are into it enough that this is useful, I don't know. Pokemon Channel just seems like Hey You! Pikachu in an even more bizarre form. I am annoyed that Nintendo is wasting resources on this, but I'm sure they'll make a profit off of it... so who can blame them.. Colosseum is obvious. Like I said here and before, the game Pichu Bros. was merged into it at some point according to Nintendo. I don't know what this entails, but hopefully it will be more interesting. To be honest, I'm not interested in any of those. The RPG does interest me though, and honestly... I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't even attempted it yet. The rumors are also pointing to online trading and such, but I guess we'll see. The Action Replay might really kill that.
-
Well I guess you can take that up with the various different dictionaries of the world that say they are both interchangable spellings of the same thing, unless you are specifically refering to The Colosseum. I don't really care either way to be honest lol.

I like it. It looks like a drawing of a character from the game Earthbound almost because of it's simplicity and clean lines. Anyway, I've never seen this series. The only Motoko I care about is Motoko Kusanagi anyway. :D

I honestly don't even understand what you did to even make this worth showing. You took Syk3's banner... put a transparency over it. Plopped Sephiroth in and inexplainably stuck in OtakuBoards.com in the center, despite it saying OtakuBoards right next to that. Then stuck in "Change", I guess to signify that it's some sort of different thing from the original (?). I don't know. Perhaps I'm missing that this is some sort of tribute or evolution in a sense, but the whole thing just seems like a bizarre edit of Syk3's work (which mysteriously has his name completely cut out of it). It's one thing to do this and give your dues (I mean, if you even mentioned Syk3's name, I wouldn't even have been bothered by this), but it's another to claim to have "made" something that's mostly someone else's work.

Gaming GC to go online?(majorly, not just 2 games)
Semjaza replied to Senor Ding Dong's topic in Noosphere
Considering this is something that has been making the rounds for about two weeks, you think they would have posted the rumor by now lol. I was telling Desbreko and Charles about this a while back. This isn't tunneling, it's referred to as something else. However, if it goes according to what a Gamespy rep said at E3 (which is where this rumor stemmed), basically if you pick LAN it will find people online to play with. Up to 8, in the case of Mario Kart: Double Dash. Of course, it absolutely required a broadband adapter and the right sort of internet connection. Gamespy announced they were making middleware way, way, way back for GC. Before Live was even really going. However, no one really thought much of it because it kind of just sat there unused. It basically worked just like Gamespy Arcade does currently, but in a simple form... Which is basically just how Live works. According to the press release there would be lobbies and instant messages and buddy lists and everything else so you could organize your games. Whether or not Nintendo will be working any of that in (assuming this is even true), I have no idea. Either way, Iwata has said that Nintendo will be making an announcement on their online plans in the immediate future. He said this during Nintendo's press conference at E3... So they have to be doing something. Really, this would be a dream come true. Online play that would be easily integrated and totally free outside of the cost of the adapter. You can't really beat that. I just hope more games make use of the LAN feature. I really wish F-Zero GX was most of all lol. -
Are you talking about League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? The sad thing is that no one is going to realize what a change this is from the comics. They even tried changing the name of the movie to The League, which thankfully didn't stick... although they call it that for short. LXG sounds even worse. I feel like I'm in a Mountain Dew commercial. The movie seems to take place decades later... Mina is suddenly a vampire? What the hell? She has never acted as such in the comics, despite her dealings with vampires. The movie somehow involves Tom Sawyer for some bizarre reason too. They've taken one of the best comics ever and turned it into a huge Hollywood mishmash of who knows what. I want to see it anyway, but I don't get why they even are making a movie about the comic if its going to be this different.

Well for all we know that's what they actually call the place in the game, rather than just the event that's going on. I see no reason why it couldn't be Pokemon Colosseum honestly. And if you want to get that technical, "colisseum" isn't even a word. :p It's coliseum and its spelling is completely and totally interchangable with the word colosseum. It doesn't always have to refer to the Roman Colosseum.
What is a wiccan and a witch...
I hope no one picked that. Besides, everyone knows witches are extinct. Just like leprechauns.

I think most people lurk message boards before joining as it is. Perhaps they don't know that an intro thread is allowed, and that's fine enough. It's generally dealt with quickly and nicely I'd say. The only real problem is people that just keep breaking rules on a regular basis. There's people that break a few just getting used to this place, and then there are those who can't seem to do anything right. I think there is generally plenty of leeway given... I mean, there was a guy who was finally banned yesterday when he should have been banned months ago. He never improved his act, but certainly had time do to so and received plenty of warnings. I think this is generally dealt with just fine... but I think at the same time there needs to be more understanding as to why it happens in the first place, which is the point of my last post.
-
The problem with the rules... is that, last I checked (I just went through it and I saw nothing) there isn't one thing in there about introduction threads. It was decided upon, but never put in there. It's been dealt with on a case by case basis since then. I believe that MyOB mentions it in its current incarnation, which shouldn't be that far off... so that will be taken care of soon enough. I also don't remember seeing anything in there about this Favorites thread rule. When I first became mod I was told it was clearly in the rules, but it's not on that page whatsoever. So really, you can't just expect new members to automatically know what's allowed here and what isn't if it's not clearly stated. A majority of boards allow favorites threads and introduction threads. Many allow one word posts (I go to one where if someone tells a good joke, there's just posts with nothing but laughing faces). I've seen people say things like "Well, that's obviously spam and they should know that." To us, yeah it is. To many others coming off other boards? It most certainly isn't. The rules do specify many things about post length, quality and relevence though... so that's a moot point really heh. However, in the case of intro and favorites threads, I don't feel that is all that clear. It seems as though the majority (actually every, to my knowledge) of mods here take care of it nicely though. I've never seen anyone jumped on for posting an intro thread... It's just explained to them that it's not allowed and closed. Simple as that. Anyway, I can understand the questioning on such things until this is all finally put into writing. The problem is that there are many rules here that are simply understood by a good deal of us just because we've been here awhile. I understand it can be hard to deal with someone who breaks these rules, but at the same time... I can hardly blame them. I'm done lol.

Coffee doesn't need to be hot. I've had it in many different cold drinks heh. I forgot the best thing ever. If any of you are ever in Chicago, go the the Thompson Center downtown. There is a food court down there with this great ice cream shop. They have this thing called a Mocha Java Blast. I'm not sure all of what's in it... but it's mocha, java, ice cream, milk and crushed ice all blended together. It comes out kind of thick and somwhat crunchy lol. It's topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. It's freaking amazing. I could live off of it. The only desert type thing that compares is a really good piece of cheesecake, which is better than any other dessert on the planet by default anyway. That's undisputable fact.

Firstly, Doom III isn't really coming to GC as of yet. All that's announced is an Xbox port, and last I heard id contracted another team to do that... so I guess a GC version is possible, but I doubt it. GC runs OpenGL I believe, which I heard is what Doom III is based on... so a port wouldn't be all that impossible. It would just have to be scaled back due to RAM limitations... and the fact that GC just can't do some of this stuff the same way (if at all in some cases). I've played the old Doom III demo that leaked, and I'm sure it has come a long way since then. The thing that's rather different about Doom 3 is that it doesn't force you against dozens of monsters at once in a big room, but it also doesn't force you into an RPG stealth style FPS like Deus Ex for example. It's really a lot like Resident Evil in first person. I think that's the best description. And whether or not this is a good game, I don't even care. id is known more for their engines than their actual games, which wind up being liscensed out to many other companies that can really take advantage of it. That's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to this, in addition to the fact that I already know it's rather enjoyable (even at that early stage). Either way, I am sure Half Life 2 will own this 10 times over.

http://www.pokemon.co.jp/game/rubisafa/colosseum.html Nintendo finally put the site up. This has been announced for some time now and there have already been pics (I'm sure you've seen some), but these are the clearest shots I've yet to see of it... so I thought it was worth posting (unless it was already? lol). Obviously it's yet another Stadium incarnation... I'm lead to believe it almost as a party game aspect to it though (as the now dead Pichu Bros. game is supposedly being worked into this). There's still the rumors and comments from Nintendo floating around that there will finally be a REAL Pokemon RPG game for GC, but who knows just yet. Would be a nice thing though. I eat it all year round... No ice cream man though. I'm not giving that guy $1 for one stupid popcicle or whatever. I mostly just eat dreamcicles and strawberry icecream. I like to get daiquiri ice if I'm ever at Baskin Robins.

24-bit PNGs are always an option. They don't do artifacting like JPGs, but allow far more color than a GIF... while still being smaller than bitmaps. Might be worth trying, just make sure it's 24 and not 8-bit (unless you want to limit the colors... it's comparable to a GIF really). If you save the JPG at 100% quality, it shouldn't even be a problem anyway. Nice picture otherwise. I have no problem reading the text honestly.

I guess that makes basically any guy in movies, television, sports, weightlifting or even music gay. I don't do any of this, but I hardly see what's gay about any of it. Maybe I live in some bizarre parallel universe, but the gay people I personally know act basically no different than anyone else I know. Not every gay person has some interest in generally female activities to an extreme amount. What people do grooming wise is their own business. I don't care as long as they don't look hideous or smell horrible heh.

I think the appeal of a lot of dubs is that they are done so badly. Sure, it can ruin some movies... but it brings others into an almost cult classic status. I'd never watch a Godzilla movie if it had perfect dubbing, as I think the hilariously bad syncing is part of what makes it fun. The same with many kung fu movies. There are even groups that purposely do this now because they know people enjoy it. Of course, there are some that are completely ruined by bad dubs. Particularly anime. There was one I saw called Gryzor's Wing (I think), which wasn't that good as it was... but the dub literally destroyed any chance there was that I could possibly enjoy it.

Heh. Well after all this... has anyone gotten to listen to anything outside of the current single? I remember when I mentioned that there wasn't much in the way of a Manson community here and some people jumped on my *** about it... so there has to be someone here that actually bought the album lol.
-
That makes even less sense than where it is currently.

Oh hey, since we're on this again. I finally saw the limited edition set at the store the other day for like $22. The reason I couldn't find it was because they don't keep it by the CDs. It's in the Music DVDs section for some reason. The 60 page hardcover book is apparently the casing. That's what was wrapped up on the shelf at least. I'll be picking it up in the next few days, yay. I'm under the impression it doesn't have the CD in a jewel case though, which means I'll have to buy the normal disc as well.... eh.

I'm not really any of these things. I can draw and create things, but I don't feel I'm much of an artist. I can play instruments and have knowledge of music, but I'm not what I consider a real musician. I don't play sports anymore. Senior year made reading a chore. I don't rebel without reasoning, as that's just pure stupidity. I'm not that smart. I'm not that emotional. I'm not that quiet. I'm not that funny, although many people tell me otherwise in real life; I tend to not act as strange on here. I've never done good things, I've never done bad things, I've never done anything out of the blue (bonus points to anyone that knows this reference heh)... So none. I'm not even trying to be ambiguous or anything. I just don't feel any of these apply. I can't even say I'm a slight mix of all of them, because really... doesn't everyone at least have a miniscule fraction of each of these? I'll just go with shade of grey, which isn't even a choice. I lose. You know, actually, I'm just a dork. I like things people don't care about. Things most people dismiss, ignore and otherwise think are a waste of their time. I have too much of an interest in bands and sounds and colors and flowers and video games and art and wordplay and spelling errors to be anything else. So if that was a choice, I guess I'd just pick that.

I cried the day Shift was banned. Those were tears of happiness though.

I have a dislike for Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Mostly Ben Affleck. I was watching cable the other day, and this movie was on. I made myself watch it. Surprisingly, the movie is excellent. I wasn't expecting anything, and it was just great. Solid acting, directing and writing. The Mini car chase was definately a highlight.

I've not gotten a chance to listen to it, but I've honestly heard absolutely nothing but good things about it so far... from all sorts of people. Didn't like the last Cold CD, but apparently this is an improvement.
