Depends... you put it around whatever you want to center heh. If just the image, you put the [center ] and [/center] tags around the img tags.

You use the [center ] tags. By the way, you didn't post an image.

Gah... FF has changed very little over it's history (I don't include the spinoffs... FFT is a weak version of various Quest tactics games anyway). I welcome any changes to the main series, as long as they aren't severely drastic. People bring up the ATB system and all that, but even that really hasn't affected battles in the end. I never understood the complaining behind not saying Tidus' name. Aren't you allowed to name him whatever you want to? So if I named him "Butthead," it would get confusing when everyone else called him Tidus still. Was a smart decision I think. I don't like voices in a good deal of games. I read far faster than they speak, and it just gets aggrivating after a while. Thank god you can skip all of them. There have been voices in PC RPG games since who knows how long ago, and I've always felt the same about that.

Hell, at least you don't have to wear a uniform. I had to dress up to go to school (which is not bad, honestly... Don't mind wearing shirt and tie). Life bites in general. After High School, you'll have different problems in college... after college, you'll have different problems with your career... after that, who knows what. It doesn't really end. Just have to make the most of it. There are always things to take advantage of and loop holes to get around things.

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by DarK DeatH [/i] [B]K, sorry 'bout the double posting... And the albums are almost non-existing here... You can find only two or three... Which usually are the S&M, the Reloaded, and their newest stuff... But since I have those two already, I'm trying for the older ones... [/B][/QUOTE] Hmm that's rather surprising... Well I'd definately get a hold of the black album and Master of Puppets if you can. I'm not a big Metallica fan, but yeah. St. Anger is actually coming out soon, and it sounds like it's a return to their roots apparently. Shouldn't be hard to find if you guys get the new stuff down there.
-
If you like them so much, perhaps you should buy the albums lol. I know they aren't nonexistant in Brazil heh. Don't double post either, or someone will get on your case about it.

I always hated this double standard with this, especially at home. You get this "no one likes a tattle-tale" nonsense beaten in to you by some people. My step-father in particular would always bring this up when I told on my sister, or she told on me... But all it did was cause us to avoid telling anything to him. You'd either get in trouble if you didn't tell, or you'd still get in trouble if you did. I guess he's just a sadist.

It's funny seeing it called Twin Serpents instead of Twin Snakes, but what's the difference. I mentioned the name of this game in the Billy Hatcher thread, that's been known for quite some time. I'm still rather surprised by the fact that Silicon Knights is doing this though... Hideo Kojima is a bit of a control freak, so I'm sure he'll make sure that SK gets the best game possible out.

Looks good honestly. Nice choice for a picture. I, personally, have never been into the style where you basically blow up the main image, make it monochrome and stick it in the background. It always seems so repetitive. That's my only problem with this.

I absolutely hate the guy personally. I won't get into why, but definately not my thing. I like some emo (or whatever people who are obsessed with genres call this guy), but this is a type I can't stand. Sounds like he's whining into a monaural tape recorder in his basement. And it's definitely, since you questioned that.

Despite the fact that I know a good deal of people have no way of getting these CDs, I do really think the majority of people who use such programs honestly don't have much of an intention to buy those CDs in the first place. Certainly, very few people I know personally do. Go through people's list on Kazaa. They don't own one or two songs from an artist on average... some of these people have 40 or so songs by one artist, and you can tell very easily that they are tracks they downloaded. I know people that do that, and they don't buy these CDs. I have no problem with people downloading mp3s in general... which probably didn't come across. My main problems are two things: The first, the fact that people think not buying these CDs is somehow letting them stick it to the "man" in some form. That's BS. The second, I mentioned... I honestly don't believe a very large amount of people would buy the CDs even if they could (unless they seriously had nothing else to do with their cash). Even some of the posts in here imply that to me. The simple fact is that when someone can get something free, they see no reason to pay for it... especially considering how readily available this is. It's like that for anything, and in a sense I can understand it. Many people wind up hitting FTPs and queueing seriously something like 20 albums to download overnight. They have no plans of buying anything. Obviously this is more severe, but it just doesn't end on Kazaa or those other file sharing programs. Any moron can get stuff off Kazaa. I know people who [i]don't even know what an MP3 is[/i] that download off of it. Anyway, people who download some stuff for reasons like James or Endymion... I have very little problem with that in moderation, especially if it's used to pick out possible CD purchases... however, if you can get one song free, why not just get them all free and forget about it? Especially since nearly every burning program in existance can make an audio CD out of MP3s easily. I don't know. I think that if you like the music, you owe the band to show it by buying their material. The industry itself has nothing to do with that decision. Edit: TN brought up the point of concerts and such... they don't get all the money from that either, so what's the difference in the end? Besides, if someone won't even drop $15 for a CD, I doubt they'll be willing to drop the $30 to $50 that larger band's concerts cost on average.

You'll have to be a bit more clear next time obviously heh. I'm not in Australia, so I've never even heard of this magazine. We don't seem to have much in the way of punk stuff available around Chicago honestly. It's a bit odd that your poll in here is the same as the one on the site... So I'm not sure what's going on exactly lol.

It your options, when you pick your avatar... at the bottom to browse your PC. Do that, pick the file and then click Submit. You'll be good to go. And it looks like the sig limiter isn't working... You can't have banners over 500x100 here. Yours is 50 pixels too high.

If you said more about what this was... and were trying to get feedback on how to make it the best you can and so on, maybe it'd be cool. However, you've said jack about it and come off like you're just advertising and trying to unload a few copies. OB isn't cool with that heh.

You are confused. Broadband has to do with modems and their speeds (aka DSL and Cable, etc). The Network Adapter can handle broadband as well as dialup internet connections. FFXI is announced for E3 this year. They are already accepting beta testers for the PS2 version, and the hard disk (which is what you keep calling a BroadBand unit, which it's not) is done for US models. It's supposed to be packed with FFXI in the US, for about $79 (seems really low, but whatever). There was little reason to release it here without a game that really needs it anyway, and at this point FFXI is the only one that requires it.

If we're talking about anime series... I have a few favorites. Serial Experiments: Lain is definately my most favorite though. I've honestly not bothered to watch Cowboy Bebop (the one episode on CN bored me to tears) or Evangelion.

Gaming Atari,Nintendo, Turbografx,Genesis, Saturn,Dreamcast
Semjaza replied to vegeta rocker's topic in Noosphere
I've not gotten rid of any of my systems, until recently... And that was mostly a money issue. I still have my Atari 2600, Sears Computer Entertainment System, NES, DC, Saturn, Genesis, SNES and so on. I have like 60 games for my Atari 2600, but I can't play them... I either have the wrong cords, or the system is dead. I do play my NES rather often though, and I still buy games for it when I get the chance... not in quite a while though. I think the last game I finally picked up for it was Kid Icarus. I even got my hands on an official Nintendo Famicom (there are tons of knock offs of this, I own some of those too - one looks like a PSone heh)... as well as some import games. My favorites are my complete sets of Dragon Quest I to IV. I mostly own Saturn for the fighter imports. Stuff like Vampire Savior. I also got Akumajo Dracula X (a port of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night), although the extra features are lame and it doesn't run as well as the PSX version heh. I have plans to get a Turbo Duo as well as a Sega Master system. I just don't have the spare cash at this point. I just like collecting this stuff I guess. -
When I say "you" in this, I'm just referring to people in general... just so people know heh. I understand artists don't make much off the CD, which is why so many complain about CD prices in the first place. I believe it averages something around $1 a piece... but they also get money from merchandise, tours, tv spots and everything else. Okay, so by not buying this CD you don't help the RIAA. Congratulations. You aren't helping anyone else either. $1 times thousands of albums adds up (it's hardly CD consumers fault that some band can't handle their famous-ness and money - that can happen with anyone. TLC, for example, had millions regardless, that's their problem). If a thousand people decide to just download parts of the CD instead of buying it (and this is probably a low number, judging from the millions who use Kazaa on a daily basis alone), that's a lot of money. Okay, so the RIAA doesn't get their cut. Neither does the store. Maybe Walmart doesn't care that they sold 1,000 less of something when they make millions a day... but the small record stores sure as hell care. Like I said, in the end you are helping screw over the artists anyway. They get stuck in these contracts, which I admit suck... but not buying their stuff doesn't exactly help matters... Especially when concerned with people who claim some band as their "favorite" and only have mp3s. That really pisses me off. If you don't show the band you care by sales, then they will assume no one gives a ****. Their label will screw them over even more; it's happened dozens of times. It doesn't help anything. I'm sorry, but you are not on some crusade against evil. You are not Robin Hood. There is nothing noble, righteous or honest about screwing over these companies. Nor do I think the fact that they price gouge is good either, but if you hunt around you can get many CD for only $10 now. But, if you really believe that maybe you should look around. Every goddamn thing you buy is helping some giant, evil conglomerate. Welcome to business in the entire world (Japan included, because apparently people are oblivious to the many monopolistic practices that have gone on in their own country and as the result of them as well).

They just had this thing on the news about Madonna and all that. It was pretty stupid, considering they seemed to think Napster invented file sharing programs among other things, but anyway... Apparently the RIAA emailed 200,000 people that use two popular file sharing programs... saying that this is not unpunishable and they are not anonymous. That would scare the crap out of me honestly heh. I guess you could easily just not enter your real email on those programs (I NEVER do)... but they could probably trace your IP and force your ISP to give them your information if they really wanted to.
-
Heh that image seems to be a jab at the RIAA more than anything. I think the confusing aspect is that when people say "music industry" some are referring to only the RIAA, some are refering to the whole music scene overall and some are combining both as one. I tend to combine them when I refer to the industry, but I lean more towards the scene side than the RIA side. I don't like the RIAA. They are overly greedy and everything else honestly, I can't lie about that. However, you aren't sticking it to them when you don't buy stuff... you're screwing the artists over in the end. I've seen people get very upset when they draw a simple picture and it winds up somewhere else on the internet, where someone else is claiming it is theirs. The funny thing is that most of the time these images are redrawings of someone else's creations in the first place (an anime, videogame, etc). Now imagine something you spent lots of time and energy on, that's completely yours. Now everyone is taking it from you and not giving anything back. If people think that's okay, things are seriously messed up.

Ugh. I lost my post lol. I'll try to rewrite it. Elephant is among their best work. I orginally got the vinyl of it that came out months ago, so I'm glad the CD is finally out so I can get the best sound (I'm a freak about that). I plan on getting it soon. We had a thread on them a while back, and I remember a lot of people saying they didn't like them for various reasons. I remember one of them being about how simple they are... Personally, I think that's part of their appeal. I don't think the drummer is all that hot, but she drums enough for it to work. The vocalist/guitar player (I forget their names, sorry) is amazing at times though. I don't think most people would realize this without owning the CD... and of course if you hate a band based on some single, why would you own the CD in the first place? Also, at times... based on live footage I've seen of them, I'm really under the impression that they do everything they can to come off more amateurish than they are. You can tell the drummer messes up on purpose if you pay attention to her... messes with the beat by speeding up and slowing down and so on. I don't know why they do this, but maybe they feel it adds to the simplicity of it. I think the thing I really like about the band is how humble they seem to be to this day. They never wanted to get this big, and never expected it to happen. It was just a fun thing to do. That and the fact that they seem so close to their fans. They even work alongside some of the fan sites, which I think is great. A lot of artists totally ignore those sites nowadays. I just really respect that.

The music industry is dying in my opinion. People who feel some need to download everything instead of buying it are the reason that the industry is clogged with bands that are clones of eachother. The originals sold, so why not chug out the same crap with a different face? Yes, there will be an underground scene all the time. Yes there were always be excellent bands that are on the fringe of something or other... but it's not remotely how it used to be anymore. Like it or not, the music industry is a business... if they don't get their money or think they are losing it because of someone else, they'll do what they can to get it back, same as any other company. I really think that music sharing programs are the main problem for music today. People have little reason to buy a CD. Less CDs being bought equals less money for tours and everything else. Less chances bigger labels will take on smaller bands that really deserve to go somewhere and not have a sidejob in McDonalds all their lives. Some people might not think this is a problem... but there are labels struggling due to this crap. CD sales are declining at a rather fast pace. Many bands I actually love cannot manage to get together a tour because their labels can't afford to get one going anymore due to overall less sales on their label (Curve is an example). Even NIN, which is a rather big group, didn't get funding from Interscope for their tour because of "lagging sales" for The Fragile. The Fragile sold over 1,000,000 copies and costs on average twice what a normal CD does (because it's a 2 disc set), and Interscope still wouldn't help. Trent (the vocalist) wound up funding most of that tour himself. This is pathetic, and shouldn't even be an issue. I always find it humorous that a lot of people don't think stuff like Kazaa is a problem. "I only download one or two songs to see if I like them" is what I hear most often. Or "I only like one song, why should I buy the CD?" You should buy the CD because it supports the artist. Why a person doesn't want to help a band that has worked so hard to get where it is and exists (hopefully) for the love of the music, I have no idea. At least buy the damn single, because chances are you are downloading the single they play on the radio anyway. A "few" songs adds up. Most people have at least 40 songs on their computer. Personally, I have about 4,000. 98% of these are mp3s I made myself from CDs I own, because I like to have a constant stream of music in my room. I know this isn't the case for most people. I really do think people use the above mentioned as an excuse too. They know, in a sense, that they are screwing the artists over... and in order to justify it they complain about how greedy the artist is or the indusry is or the label is. Or they say they "plan" on buying the CD, when they know right out that they won't. It's greedy for the artist to want to get their earned money... but it's not greedy to take stuff for free? To over indulge yourself in this because it's free? It's like everyone who downloads music thinks they are Robin Hood. It doesn't help anything. I cannot tell you how many people tell me so and so is their favorite band without owning one of their CDs. How many people own a copy of another CD, or downloaded most (or all) of it off the internet. The fact is that this is free. People like free things. They ask, why should we pay when we get it for free? And to me this is a HUGE problem. This isn't supposed to be free in the first place. If you want to add to the decline of innovative music then be my guest. I'm willing to bet that half that bands people like here (and most of mine), wouldn't even exist today if the music industry was as bad back then as it is today. If things continue like this, I think it will just get worse. The companies won't take risks. I admit I download music. If anything, it's generally a bootleg (something that technically shouldn't exist as it is, so the band isn't losing money on that), something I just can't get in the US... or something leaked that I want to buy anyway (the latest Manson CD for example). I don't just download random songs I like from the radio. And the sad thing is that music on a whole just seems to sell more based on image than the actual music. The companies know this too. Korn, who got huge as we all know (although died down), were signed not because of their music... but because the company thought it would appeal to kids who wore baggy "hip hop" style clothes, but still liked metal. That's all it seems to be about anymore. I guess I just don't get how anyone can justify what is basically stealing from these groups. Groups they claim to care about, and are apparently meaningful in their lives. Of course, this isn't true of everyone... this is just a general opinon I have. Anyway, I'm repeating myself and going off on tangents and everything else. Hopefully some of this was coherant and someone will actually feel a need to read all of it.

I've had premarital sex, and personally I don't have a problem with it (otherwise, I'd hate my self... heh). However, if someone believes that they shouldn't, I totally respect that. That's something I personally could never have done, and I think it takes a lot of willpower and guts to keep yourself away from something that people and society in general are pushing in your face on a constant basis. I've never pushed sex with anyone honestly, if something happens... it happens. Either you both want to, or you just don't do it. I'd have to say that if those guys were truly "nice guys" they would have been accepting of your feelings and beliefs. From reading posts of yours in the past, I'd have to guess this is something you are rather adamant about it. If they can't respect that, perhaps they were not truly worth the time in the first place and you're better off. Sex is a good thing (how surprising lol), but in my mind, it's not ever the focal point of a relationship unless other aspects of it are massively screwed up in some form. So yeah, like I just said, if that's the reason why you'd break up... it wasn't worth it in the first place. There's no reason to compromise your integrity. Edit - Added in a bit more details heh.

It was the winter. It's getting nicer out now, and will only be getting better. Nicer weather = less depressing posts. A smart man told me this.
