1. Eh. It's five bucks. It depends. I see so many people asking for money downtown, it's ridiculous. Some are obvious bums, some claim to be otherwise. I once had a well dressed man tell me his car broke down and he needed bus money, so I helped him out. I see this guy a week later, and he asks me again... Okayyyy lol. You can never tell I guess. If I feel that the person really needs or deserves the money, then I help them. If you felt that about this lady, then that's all that matters. If you don't get your money back, well... Just remember that most people suck. At least you aren't adding to it.
2. I will admit I know nothing about this movie. I have, however, been bombarded with commercials about it every time I watch TV. I also had the displeasure of seeing the entire trailer at the theater twice now. I don't know I could put this any better... But it looks so boring. I don't mind movies of this type at all. I'll watch anything... chick flick or otherwise... but this just seems to have nothing of interest going for it, other than for me to pretend I care about the small aspects of their lives. The whole trailer kind of threw these moments in, as if I was supposed to laugh at them. Instead I just stared. I guess you and I have very different opinions of what's funny :p It just seems like something my grandma would make me go see with her. And not the cool grandma either; the really boring, stuffy grandma.
3. Heh. I was just playing regardless lol I knew that guy had to be from Giftpia, guess I was right. I really hope we get that game.
4. In less than a week, I've found out that I'm neither "intelligent" or respected. Wonderful. Anyway, it's a cool idea I'd say. Could do without that little mini-text stuff in the corner personally.
5. Looks decent. Too much negative space I think. Anything with NATION in it makes me think of Herman/Shift, which isn't exactly a good thing.

Ushi. ^_^

It looks wonderful. I like every single aspect of it, and that's seriously very rare. It's much better than the original sketch in my opinion.
7. Prismacolor markers are more than enough to get something as good as what Photoshop would provide... you just have to do the details. The problem with the coloring is that it is too flat. I'd have to guess that if you have Prismacolors, you'd have access to a blender marker. I don't know if you used one in this, but it doesn't look like it. That can add some excellent gradients to this image and really bring it out, if you spend some time. Highlights and such, I'd just use a white colored pencil. Add some of those to the areas where light is coming directly down on the Gundam. Just thin lines mostly. It could add a lot to this. As for the shadows, the pencil shadow works (maybe it's pen?). You might want to try smudging it a bit though, so it looks a bit more uniform and less sketchy. Otherwise, grab a low percentage gray (maybe 10%)and lightly go over the color to darken it up a bit. You have to be rather careful with that though, as I personally have problems with that making things too dark. You might want to work on how you apply it too, because with markers of that quality... there's no reason to be having those overlapping marker line problems. Anyway, I do like the image and I think the coloring itself is well done. If you already know some of this, I'm not trying to sound like lecture-y or anything. Just some pointers I guess, since I also use these markers heh. I would get Pantones (or even those nice Japanese markers, forget the name)... but I don't want to pay $50 for a dozen.
8. My school closed down Junior year. There was no prom due to lack of interest. My school senior year, I didn't feel like going at all. The first school, Weber, would have had a great prom. I know it would have been something cheap and just a lot of fun. The second school, St. Pats, was mostly pretentious jerks. There was no reason to go. A girl I was dating at the time wanted me to take her to mine, but I didn't... I was attempting to dump her at the time anyway heh. Too much money I'd rather waste on other things either way.

'boom!'

System of Down itself has quite a few songs with this sort of message in it. Shouldn't be too hard to find any others. Othewise, there are countless other political bands... Rage Against the Machine, like mentioned... Propaghandi, Bad Religion (my favorite) and so on. I can't think of any specific songs though, so I'm no help heh.
10. I don't think this is bad at all. It's quite good, and I personally like the color combination. I'm just not seeing what's different about it... It seems like it is just swirly instead of spikey. I was far more into the pixel art you were starting to do, honestly.
11. Movies hit DVD so fast now anyway, that it doesn't even matter. Half the time you get even more scenes, features and everything else. Seeing a movie 3 months earlier doesn't exactly excite me. If you stay behind what's out in the theaters, you wind up having tons to watch anyway. And I guess you have to live in a city like Chicago, where everyone thinks they are as important as god, to have to deal with people who talk throughout entire movies on a regular basis. Anyway, the theater uses 5.1 sound. I have that. It won't be as loud, but who cares. Most of the time DVDs in progressive scan look better than what you'll see at the theater (unless that's digitally projected, which is rare). So I'd rather watch it on a 36" or 52" TV than sitting 50 feet behind some huge screen. It's not my thing. I have better everything at home in my opinion. And no, I don't download movies. Takes too long, they look like crap and so on.
12. Ah okay heh. I wasn't sure... It kind of looks like someone's first few attempts in Illustrator. Anyway, I do like the wallpaper. I think it's just a bit too blue personally, and I'm also not too fond of the grid.
13. Ah, okay. I wasn't exactly clear on this heh. I've not really had that problem. I often cannot tell if someone likes me like that or not, but I'm not sure if that's your problem or what.
14. Did you draw the guy? It looks like something someone would do in Illustrator.
15. Okay. Stop posting. You obviously do not know what you are doing. Italicizing the words won't do anything. You don't just type the name of your file in. It won't do anything. Do what Sara said. Pick Post Reply. Then under the text box (write something about the image in there too), you'll see a little button that says "Browse." Click it. Then find your image on your computer and select it. Click okay. Then post the reply. The image should show up. Don't double post in the future, and please listen to what others say. You obviously haven't even tried what Sara said.
16. Lots of red isn't so bad in my opinion... but the blood is so blurry and aliased. It just doesn't look good. The text would be fine if it had some effects or something on it, and you upped the size and messed with the kerning a bit. The characters seem to be obvious cut and paste too. Anyway, it's not bad at all. Just not something I'd use for a wallpaper personally.
17.
Originally posted by Smoky Joe However, I hope they use the special fur effects on Chewbacca. I am pretty sure that the areas on-foot will be amazing, since they created the excellent Super Turrican. Maybe this is what Tornado became...
You can't really tell by that shot, but Chewbacca is fur shaded, or whatever you want to call it. Also, I remember reading something about how the people renderer they were using in Thornado is what they are using in this game for the characters. You don't see any in this shot, but they are rather well done considering how many are on the screen at times. As for this being graphically amazing... it does look a lot like the last one, but there are obvious improvments. Crispin of EGM posts at another forum I go to, and he seems to be pretty damn impressed by all they were shown. He mentioned that in Endor, the leaves and branches on the trees sway in the wind... and that the light coming through the top sways around on the ground floor. He was also quick to say that these were real light sources, not some predone trick. The Super Star Destoyer areas sound great too... Star Destroyers were in RL, and they were HUGE. I can't imagine how big these will be. The scale would just be amazing. I guess there are two areas to it... one where you fly around it in the distance, and one where you're actually flying through its trenches. Anyway, I'm excited. At the same time, part of me doesn't believe this is all they are doing. There's no way, especially since this is obviously the same game engine with enhancements (the people parts are basedoff the hanger area in RL). They must be doing something else, or at least I hope so. I'd really like to see what they could do with something that's all their own.
18. Not to sound rude... but you haven't been able to figure this out for yourself yet?
19. Most likely because they are the same people who somehow manage to use Kazaa but have no idea what an MP3 even is. It's too difficult for them to delete, I guess. People are smart. Anyway, from the Register.co.uk... since this was mentioned.
Like a virgin - Madonna hacked for the very first time Madonna's role as the material girl placed her in a spot of trouble this weekend when the pop star's Web site started doling out free song files from her new album. A hacker decided to take revenge on Madonna after she flooded P2P networks with fake music files from her "American Life" album. Madonna had apparently laced the fake tracks with loops of her saying, "What the **** do you think you are doing?" The hacker scored a minor victory against Madonna by breaking into her site over the weekend and posting all of the tracks from "American Life" for download. According to The Smoking Gun, the site went offline after the attack and remained down for close to 15 hours. The hacker also left a message for Madonna saying, "This is what the **** I think am doing." Neither Madonna nor her music label cohorts seem to have mastered the art of fan relations just yet. Swearing at your most loyal and eager audience ranks right up there with filing lawsuits against college students and launching attacks against our armed forces. It's also on par with making new CDs as difficult to open as possible, bound as they are with glue and cellophane. This is not an industry run by men and women with any love of music. Times must be tough for the one-time pop queen. She stared as Amber in the film "Swept Away," but few were able to judge her performance as a torrent of damning reviews ensured moviegoers stayed at home.
20. I don't like it... I have a nice HDTV, a DVD player and a good sound system. I'm set. I'd rather lay around my house eating great food (in addition to popcorn if I wanted) and saying or doing whatever I want to. I'll never understand why my friends want to go to the theater. You sit in a dark room staring at a big screen. If you talk, people get annoyed with you. I'm not into candy, and I can do without popcorn. Especially when you get those stupid kernels stuck on the back of your tongue or whatever, and you spend forever trying to get them off. I'd much rather watch a movie at my house. This way, I don't pay $8+ to see a movie I'll most likely hate, while annoying fat people clang their bottles of Diet Snapple (as if that will help when you are also eating 5 boxes of candy, moron), dig around noisily in bags of wrapped candy and talk about their mundane lives for some reason. These are the types of people who go on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and tell lame stories that have absolutely nothing to do with the question that was asked of them ("Which of these is not part of an atom?" "Well I was born in Indiana, so that's not it..." etc). Ugh. When I saw Boat Trip (which was much better than you'd imagine), a lady seriously talked to her husband for 3 minutes (at least) about how something in it looked like the Grecian Islands. Then she talked about how nice the silverware and dishes were on the cruise. Of course, all of this was in a normal speaking voice. It couldn't be more obvious that her husband didn't give a crap either. What the hell? And of course, being a "nice guy," I can't tell an old lady to shut the hell up. But oh I would have loved to. Really, I would. I don't like the theater. But, I do like to complain obviously.
21. That's all the movies are about my friend. I hate going to the damn theater... but I can't get Snowcaps at the store. Too bad I don't drink soda/pop. I guess I shall never experience heaven.
22.
Originally posted by Charles As it stands now, this movie wasn't even worth as much as the Hawaiian Punch candy I bought in the theater.
Was the candy good?
23. LAN play isn't online play. You'd hook directly into another modem, which would basically require you to own the Broadband Adapter. It's like system link. You need two TVs and two GCs. Edit: I should add, this is something that Xbox was doing from the start with stuff like Halo. People managed to figure out a tunneling process... Meaning they could hook the Xbox up to their computer and make it think it's playing LAN, when it was really playing online. Gamespy did this, as well as XBConnect. I see no reason why GC couldn't, unless they want to use some weird protocols. Gamespy already has online middleware done for GC, so they might be able to do it pretty easily even. So I'm hoping... Would be great.
24. From what I've read, and what Nintendo.com seems to say... You are able to pick any two characters you want to. I'm not exactly sure how it works, or if that's exactly true. That's what I'm lead to believe though.
25. I'll be closing this then heh.
