3x3 eyes

Well, I got mine at Suncoast. I've never seen it anywhere else. Like I said, it cost $70 at the time... and even that was cheaper than the suggested price I saw elsewhere heh. It's a 2 DVD set, so I think the price is rather ridiculous... (I guess they didn't expect to sell tons, so they jacked up the price) but overall it is quite a few hours long from what I remember.

3x3 eyes

There was a thread on this long ago that got only two replies, one of which was mine heh. Anyway, I don't really know what you need to know. The 3x3 Eyes tapes aren't exactly easy to find anymore. The only ones I was ever able to find consisted of only the first half of it all. It's been so long since I've seen it honestly, but it is one of my favorite anime. In simple terms (based on memories from 5 years ago) it's about a girl named Pai who is the last of her race, a Sanjiyan (they have 3 eyes, when the 3rd opens they become basically another person). A professor comes upon her in his search for that legendary race. Anyway, Pai winds up leaving when the professor passes away to find his son: Yakumo. A bunch of random stuff happens and Yakumo winds up dying, only to be brought back to life thanks to Pai's power. However, this also means he is more or less the slave of Pai and the Sanjiyan... He is immortal, and will not die unless Pai herself is killed. That's the basics of it. There is a second half of it, but it's done by a totally different animation company in a totally different style... and honestly it was very hard for me to get into it because of that. There is a DVD around, which I bought for $70. It has both parts o 3x3 Eye on it. I skipped right to the second half as I'd never seen it... of course it didn't work, so I returned it. I never bothered to get another.

Roseanne

It's one of the last things I'll watch on TV... not that there is really anything I watch anyway outside of the Simpsons and Futurama once or twice a week. Not been too into TV the last few months.
4. This thread is so old... However, I am suddenly getting back into this CD and realizing it is even greater than I ever thought. One of the best releases of 2002 definately. I could sit here and listen to some of these songs forever... Fight Test, One More Robot/Sympathy 3000-21, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Do You Realize?? (and it's creepy video) and so on. How these songs can be so upbeat and happy sounding, while at the same time being about some rather sad and slightly depressing stuff... I'll never understand. Sure, other bands have managed it... but this is at like another level, especially in combination with the music videos. I love this CD. Anyway, has anyone that said they were getting it gotten it? And if so, what did they think?
5. There's been a thread about it for over a week now... where have you guys been? lol

Sara. How do you take a screenshot on a Mac?

Desktop.

I always like Sara's... mainly because she seems to be the only Mac user here that bothers to post in the desktop threads lol. That and her wallpapers are usually really nice, and somewhat subdued.
8. Another thing... why did they make the inside of his ears pink like some sort of animal? It's kind of sad... I have seen these for sale at Sears many years ago (although strangely years after the CD-i was dead). The box art was nice... it used offical Nintendo work and everything else. Even stuff like Mario's Casino had nice art. But the games... ugh. Oh well. Let's forget they exist please heh.
9. Okay. What is it lately with people posting things that were said just a few posts up already? This is the fourth time I've noticed it in this forum alone. Just two posts up:
Originally posted by James There isn't much to say about Mario 128. It's in development and it's been in development for longer than Super Mario Sunshine. So it'll be big, whatever it is.
So, yeah, thanks for the breaking news lol. Please at least skim what other people posted in the future.
10. What always bothered me about that picture was Link's hands. They're all gnarled up and disgusting... they look like they'd be on someone rotting in a grave somewhere. Luckily you can't see that Link appears to be wearing hot pink lipstick in this picture, since he's covering up his mouth.
11. http://www2u.biglobe.ne.jp/~nanko/images/9977.jpg New images from a scan from Quiter. Nice stuff, and some art as well. It's massive, so I won't show it in here.
12. I keep coming in this thread just to look at the thing. About halfway through the animation, when the head starts facing left and right at a rather high speed is the best part... I laugh every time I see it. And the way the baby just turns to stone when the mom walks in... Man, it's classic. Great job guys.
13. Who was your first kiss? This girl, Meghan How old were you? I think 16. I was never in any rush to be doing these things. How was it? Horrible. This girl was in love with me before she even saw me, basically. I wound up going out with her because she wouldn't leave me alone about it. I never even tried to kiss her, and finally some time later she asked why... so we just did. To this day, it is the worst kiss I have ever had. She was horrible at it, and I remember thinking "This is it? This is what people make such a big deal about??" and so on. God. I don't think I'll ever get over that. The girls since then have been a godsend, because if every girl was like Meghan was kissing wise (and nearly every thing else), I'd most definately be gay right now. What were the circumstances? (Where, Time, etc) We were going out. I don't remember when or any of that stuff, as it wasn't exactly something I care to remember. What was your Worst/Best Kiss? Worst = Meghan. Best, I have no idea. A girl I dated named Colleen was a good kisser. I remember the first time we kissed rather well, as it kind of sealed the direction things were headed in. We had liked eachother for several months at the time, and were just this side of best friends really. She just crawled over on the bed we were sitting on and kissed me. So, in a way, I guess it was the best since it was basically the most important.
14. None of these choices really apply to me. I like anime, but I am not really obsessed with it. I think the vast majority of it is horrible (just like animation here), and that most of it shouldn't even be bothered with. In terms of mainstreaming it... I don't care one way or another. I don't own the rights to anime or anything that would affect how it works. I simply buy what is given to us. I'm not some spokesperson or crusader than wants to keep anime some elitist ideal. If more people get into an anime I like, I think that's cool. There are fans that are stupid for anything, anime isn't an exception and it's impossible to keep it that way. Really, the more people that like it... the more anime there would be that might be bothered with here in the US. And the more people buy anime, the lower the prices will become (so that companies can make up the liscensing fees easier, and so on). I hardly think that's a bad thing. People point to the ultra saturation of stuff like DBZ and Pokemon here... Okay, so it's "mainstream." For every mainstream anime we have here, there is a dozen in Japan... and every single one of those has just as many stupid hokey products to cash in on it (even toilet paper, DVD players and "massagers." However, these same anime that have entire stores dedicated to them in Japan practically are somehow "underground" (so to speak, best word I could find) here. To me, the more people are into something the better. Japan doesn't make anime for America. They make it for themselves. If things take off here, so be it... but it's hardly going to change the status and future of anime on a whole.
15. There's an ultra bandwidth one floating around too that is like 96 MBs. That's the one I downloaded. Looks about 10 times better than any other trailers and previews I saw before made it seem. I'll probably actually go see this and X-Men 2 in the theaters. I have some interest in Pirates of the Carribean too, just because of Depp. The Sinbad cartoon doesn't look bad either. Good movies this Summer it looks like.
16. Considering I've been to Disney World a total of like twice in my entire life (and once to Disney Land), that would rock. Scan away :D
17. I see the commercials for this show and I refuse to watch it. For every kid on the commercial that looks like they might have some talent that actually could amount to something (singing really well, playing something etc) there is some goofy kid in gigantic clothes acting like he is a hardcore rapper, hopping around like an idiot while busting out hand gestures and so on. That just bothers me. That and the fact that I don't think some of the kids are at an age where it's smart to be pushing them this hard, but in the end I guess it's family's (and sometimes the kid's) decision.
18. Seriously... is Chicago the only place that rips you off for songs? Even Disney is allowing 3 for a buck? Bleh. Like I said, where I've played it's between 50 cents and a dollar for one song... I could play at home, but the US versions of DDR have absolutely horrible song selections. When I went to Six Flags Great America, they had a few set up... They were popular enough. It was always funny to see the person you least expected kick *** at the game. A really big nerdy looking kid, some girl, a tiny Asian boy... Never anyone I figured would be any good at this or dancing lol.
19. Did you get any Alice type pictures? I'm interested in seeing how well they've done that one. I think I saw Snow White once, and she actually looked the part heh. It sure beat that creepy Mickey Mouse.

Event

I'm more interested in an art contest... with some specific conditions. It has to have a few areas in it, and people can compete in any one... their placement in each category would give a certain number of points. These would be added up to determind a winner in each category, as well as an overall. There has to be a few different things... First, hand drawing. Second, photoshop stuff... and 3rd, colored or computer drawn illustrations (ie, not Photoshop compilations). In each of those three groups there would be two sections... one where the person can do whatever they like, and another with exact guidelines and purposes (mostly because I notice a lot of people here are good at Photoshop or drawing, but when it comes to doing something according to specifications and making it usable, they don't do as well). Those are my thoughts anyway... I don't know jack about poetry in general, and considering how dead that forum is right now, I'd much rather see an art contest.
21. It rocks. It almost beats my "Random Old Man Appreciation Month featuring Christopher Lowell" banner. ... Almost, but not quite.

Punk Music!

"Poser" and "sell-out" are the two most over used terms in our language. Nothing is misused and skewed to fit someone's agenda in the music scene more than those two, and I ****ing hate both of them. I don't like New Found Glory. I don't like Good Charlotte. I don't like them because I don't think the music is good, original or anything else... not because of some ambiguous group that thinks it's not good enough to be considered punk music for whatever reason. If a person doesn't like bands because of peer pressures and the idiotic "this is punk" mentality, then I'd have to say that person is the one being a poser. I could sit here and name dozens of bands no one here has ever heard of (as could you, and definately Olga heh) and it would never matter. Enjoy the music, **** the status.
23. It's very good. I did a thread on it here a while back... which got a few more replies than I thought it would. I think it's something anyone should see, regardless of whether or not they like anime. I did a review of it for theotaku actually, if you care to read it go here: http://reviews.theotaku.com/index.php?section=reviews&view=36 I wrote way too much most likely, but I think it gets my points across well (although perhaps it might spoil some minor things). It's probably best to skim through it after you saw the movie heh.
24. I always find it strange when someone goes from something as well done as that Rei pic, to something as average as this. Meh.

Bulletproof monk

I, personally, am tired of action movies of this sort that feature mostly rigged stunts. Getting someone like Chow Yun Fat or Jackie Chan (Tuxedo? Yuck.) to star in a movie, and then downplaying all the real stunts they can actually do by using doubles and other tricks... It just defeats the whole point of having them in the first place, in my opinion. So I'm just skipping this.
