1. It's more of a solid orange on my TV, but yeah, I'd assume it differs. If I remember correctly, the bombs are 10,000, 20,000 and 30,000 depending on how many you want. Hmm... Where can you get the Blue Chu jelly (i.e, where is the monster you kill to get it)?
2. Am I the only one that thinks this looks stupid? I originally saw the trailer for it a few months ago. Seemed good enough in theory. But really... First of all, isn't it obvious the guy doesn't have a gun? Even in the trailers they show the cops going as close as a few feet away from Colin in the booth. He is obviously holding nothing but a phone (and in a completely glass phone booth that any poorly trained monkey could see through all sides of. Yet, the cops still believe some raving slut on the street? And by the time this all goes down, isn't it rather obvious what sort of gun shot the man in the street? That is was some sort of rifle that obviously couldn't have even fit straight across in a phone booth for him to fire it, let alone put it where no one could possibly see it? The idea is decent, but it doesn't seem very thought through. A lot of people go "You're thinking too much!" But when a movie tries to play itself off as intelligent, I'd like to think it should make some sense and not be so glaring. Bleh. I might see it once it is on cable... but I'll save my money otherwise.
3. People already addressed that point though.
4. 398! You lose! :p She is holding a stuffed animal. If I remember correctly, it's of a Great Fairy. How do you find the ghost ship in the Wind Waker?
5. I've not used the metal pads, but they are as close to the real thing as you're going to get. Everyone that I know that has them swears by them. Of course, the soft pads suck because they bunch up... The PVC hard pads suck because they aren't very exact since you have to click down the buttons... There are a couple places that make metal pads... some better than others. The best ones are something like $200. No thanks lol.
6. Around here it's generally 75 cents a play, and you only get to play ONE song. You guys lucked out. All arcade machines have a setup screen where the owner can adjust price and play times... So I guess the people by you just aren't as greedy lol.
7. There aren't any Walmarts actually in Chicago. They're all in the suburbs. I've had the same complaints with pretty much every Walmart I've been into though... Around here, they are mostly frequented by pretty crappy people that like to destroy the store. A new one opened here and they had backed up toilets a few times the first week because of the customers. Bleh. I have been to a real nice one down in Carbondale though, so I guess it just depends. Anyway, I've never gotten to see anyone dressed up as Alice... I think just a Mickey Mouse, and that was in a parade. I managed to find these really cool Alice in Wonderland illustrations this weekend (to be framed)... They are from the book though, and not the Disney stuff; so I guess that doesn't matter haha.
8. Yeah, that's what I figured heh. You'd think they'd fix that up a little better... but what can you do.
9. Looks pretty good, although I do prefer the blue one. Probably because it's not as heavy on the eyes. Is there a way to get the white away from the "AOL Instant Messenger" text on the right? Or do they automatically put that in there themselves? As for games... Anything but Final Fantasy characters please! :p

Sliders

It used to be on Fox. I'd watch it quite often, as it was a damn good show. The first few seasons were great, but the show went really downhill. Once that big doctor guy left, things just changed for the worse. Sci-Fi picked it up, and the new ones they showed were even more moronic. Oh well.
11. They've always had this higher popularity in Britain, and Europe in general it seems. All the best bootlegs of the Pixies come from over there... The crowd sings along to like every single song. There is a nice one that was included on "Death to The Pixies" from Denmark, which was an official release I guess. Plus, those great BBC sessions... A lot of the singles are import only, and so was that B-Sides collection (which I bought despite owning all those songs elsewhere lol). I know that's somwhat normal, but not after a band has been dead for over a decade. I also like Trompe Le Monde. I've never really thought about what the "worst" album is honestly. I listen to Bossanova the least, but that's simply because I lost the disc and hadn't found it until recently lol. David Bowie did a cover of their song Cactus on Heathen. I thought that was great. If I was in a band, there would be no higher honor than having someone as amazing as Bowie covering one of our songs. I would have liked to see that show you are talking about. Sadly, very few people here seem to know jack about the group, and TV in general doesn't care.
12. As far as I know, only BS Zelda and Zelda II don't have "The Legend of Zelda" as part of the title. The number is actually higher in Japan though, but I forget the names. Also, if you count that CD-i crap - Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, Zelda's Adventure and Link: The Faces of Evil don't make use of "Legend of Zelda" either. Anyway, if that's right... In the Wind Waker, how much does it cost to get a Triforce Chart deciphered?
13. I'd say the millions of people that own the console would say otherwise. I'd also say the several hundred thousand people, in the US alone, that own Nintendo made games like SMS, Metroid Prime and Zelda (already) would like to say otherwise. I'm locking this. No real thoughts will amount from it. If you want to argue his sort of stuff, please post in the Console Wars thread in Sony. Here is a link: http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18479 You might want to get a bit more to back yourself up though, as the people here who know what they are talking about will severely bite back at a post like this.
14. I don't know. I don't watch cartoons to get morals. I don't watch cartoons to learn things about my life, or to look more deeply into my own conciousness. Not everything needs some dramatic aspect to it. Not everything needs a point. Some things are good just because they are about one thing: absolutely nothing. And while Spongebob does have some messages and morals to it, if you want to get down to it... They aren't really important. What's important is that you can sit down, and just watch something stupid and have a good time doing it. Forget that this is pandering to your most basic through processes and senses of humor and just watch it. I guess I just don't like having my brain on every second of the day heh. That's why I watch it anyway.
15. Thank you. Anyone that wants to post any more about this "flame war," stick it in the other thread. I'll delete anything else in here that has nothing to do with this game. I won't be bothered to move it.
16. Of course, this it toward you know who lol. How is this anywhere near a flame war? I said something else, and you're contesting it. I'm not seeing much proof other than you arguing that since you make games, you know all. Edit: As to why Samurai Jack has to do with this - Samurai Jack is a cartoon. Cartoons use animation cels. This is what cel shading gets its name from. Obviously, not all cartoons have thick black lines around characters. Samurai Jack is an example of that, and Zelda follows suit. That's the point. Cel shading tries to emulate animation cels. If you read up on anything, the developers have stated that JGR didn't use "real" cel shading. It's more about the techniques used and then how the end result is. JGR made no use of these techniques, and according to the developers DC couldn't even do the technique in the first place (nor can the PS2 if you want believe them... I suppose you know more than the creators? My source is an old Gamefan magazine). "True" Cel Shading requires pixel shaders, unless it is faked in software - which is what JGR did. That basically defeats half of your argument right there. If you are talking about JSRF, then that might be another story... but you didn't name that game. There are two ways to do cel shading. Software cheats and the other of which is done by pixel shaders. Zelda supposedly makes use of both. No style where a black line is added suddenly makes something cel shaded. It has to do with these techniques and various texture applications. The end result makes something look like an animation cel, and that's how it is basically defined. Not all animation cels require outlines, and not all things with outlines are automatically animation cels... Regardless of the two generally being put together. Anyway, if you were a game developer that actually knew... Isn't a bit odd that you don't know any of the terminology? You aren't proving jack with any of this. You are just arguing what specific style you think cel shading has to be and look like, not how it is actually done or anything else. Cel shading is defined by using solid colors to tone and shade things, resulting an animation cel appearance. Zelda has just that. Also, if you don't think Zelda has real time lighting, I suggest you read some more and play more of it. It's not all prescripted, or prerendered. ED made use of those techniques, but Zelda does not. It's rather obvious upon playing it. And here is something from someone that knows even more about it:
Cel shading is basicly using the pixel shader to create dark/bright shades on a polygonal model, affected by lighting, the shades change "accurately" to always create a cartoon look to the polygon model. The norm for cartoons nowadays are 2 or 3 shades, very different in brightness. Its like always skipping a few thousand of shades, from white to black you would get white, white-grey, grey, grey-black, black. Rather than real life shades where from white to black you would get millions of different colors in between. Oh and i want to make it clear, black outlines is NOT cel shading, its only another effect that is obviously often used with cel shading, if the creators want to make a cartoon look they'll most likely go with both. Though, thats not the norm (zelda ww). Dark cloud doesnt have cel shading, simple as that. They are polygonal models with normal textures on them. Its the artists that gave them that cartoon look, not technology.
You are assuming that outlining and cel shading are one in the same. They simply are not. They are both different techniques, and JGR (DC version) made use of a version of both of them at once. Since it was the first important game to make use of it, many believe they are one in the same and MUST go together. They don't have to.
17.
This paying 398 rupees to decipher each and every Triforce Charts is ridiculous. I barely had enough to get 5 done. Now I have to sail around and dig these stupid things up too. Bleh.
Edit: Well, I've beaten it. The last boss fights were pretty cool, and I am sure everyone will like them. The ending wasn't half bad either.
18. Cel shading doesn't require a black line around anything, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Watch cartoons, they don't all use lines around characters at all even. Samurai Jack is a good example of that, and it uses traditional cels.
19. Here are some newer shots. They seem to want to make the fact that you're trying to make a movie more obvious than they did at first...
20. I've actually heard of a few people having this problem with WW... Strange. I've yet to have any real problems with my GC though, and I've had mine since launch day.
21. Looks very good... although it's kind of strange that the one tentacle goes through two others heh. That's the only bad thing I can pick out of it.
22. Every time I go to Disney World I get annoyed... I love Alice in Wonderland, and I have this hope that maybe not every single thing they sell that has to do with it will be aimed at girls. Every damn time I am let down, with tons of pink shirts with flowers and Alice dolls. Bleh. Otherwise, the park is okay. I never thought it was amazing, as I go to parks for the rides... And most of the rides there simply aren't that exciting. I did like the Indiana Jones ride at Disney Land though. I prefer stuff like Great America, which is about an 45 minutes from where I live. Disney whatever is all very far from Chicago, now that they closed down Disney Quest. If you boycott Disney, you also have to boycott most TV shows, anything involved with Touchstone or Miramax, as well as a lot of record labels here. It's not so cut and dry anymore. And if you're going to boycott anything, start with Walmart. They're far more like what you're describing than Disney is, especially if you read up on what they are doing in countries like China right now. Luckily, I refuse to shop there... so I'm covered anyway heh.
23. Someone else here is really excited about this game other than you and I. I think Cyko heh. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to it. Impressions have been great so far, and it sounds rather unique. I was slightly worried that it'd be a lot like a 2D Devil May Cry at first, but it's becoming anything but. Summer should hopefully be rather good this year... With games like this and the new F-Zero. Yay!
24. Well, at the least... The map looks far more interesting than FFX's "Run down this long tunnel (that sometimes branches) to get to the next important place" idea. I hated that.
25.
You could have found your own joke.... haha
