Lots of people do, if you look in the actual Zelda Gamecube thread right above this one. Offhand... I do, Charles, Ginny, Desbreko, Syk3 (I think)... and some others I can't think of heh.

This made the rounds on VH1 and all those about a month ago, which is when I heard it, much like Ryan said (treton_noir is getting bothersome to type out lol)... I downloaded the video of some site, and watched it a couple times. I'm a huge NIN fan... I don't know how many current fans there are of Trent and all them, as I never see many talk about them here. Hurt isn't one of my favorite NIN tracks (I tend to not be as big into the singles for some reason), but it's damn good. Cash's cover was surprising in a few ways. No one relates an old country singer and NIN at all... And after hearing and seeing the video, I realized that it hardly even came across as the same song... which is rare for covers - especially ones that were barely changed musically. They both deal with similiar emotions, but Cash and Trent are in totally different places in their lives and they don't seem to come from the same feelings (especially Trent, since Hurt is almost 10 years old now)... I thought showing his past happiness and his old photos was incredibly effective. It was almost like a living obituary. However, this isn't some song I could see myself just listening to by itself like the original. It needs the video in my opinion. Makes me want new NIN even more so. I'm so tired of these waits between CDs... At least Still and AATCHB came out recently.

I've heard the whole CD, and while I'm not a remotely a Linkin Park fan... I'll admit it's decent. I'm not quite sure it's going to live up to everyone's opinions of the original CD, but it does what it does pretty damn well. I found Somewhere I Belong to be the weakest, but right now I can't think of which number Faint was... I'll have to replay it heh.

There are many early copies of the US version of the game that default her name to Aerith instead of Aeris as well (it was fixed in later copies), so even more people point at that so they can prove to themselves it's the best version.
-
The first is technically Sweet Home, which was also a Capcom game. Alone in the Dark more or less popularized it and brought it to new heights, and RE just capitalized on it even more so. I'll edit in developers a little later... I want to get back to Zelda.

I'd probably care if their name didn't strike me as being completely lame and overly depressive... But I'll try it out anyway, since you reccommend it. I'll let you know what I think about it then.

The Pokemon Stadium thing is simply common knowledge. I don't remember where I got it. The Pichu Brothers thing was mentioned in some recent interview... and the Genius Sorority thing is a rumor that stemmed from Japan (I also believe they are somehow involved with the Pokemon Company, which adds to the rumor). I don't exactly have a history of just making crap up... The Stadium and Pichu Brothers stuff is more or less fact according to what Nintendo has said. The rest is just a heavy rumor.

I don't really know the monster differences between the two. The guide doesn't really say, and I'm not super into Pokemon to know where to look. Ruby seems to be selling twice as fast as Sapphire for some reason... If that even affects your decision. I got Sapphire because that's all that was left lol.

I walked into Best Buy this morning... Walked kind of fast to the GC section, and I saw like a dozen people just gawking around there. I was worried for a second, the store had only been open 45 minutes, but I had no idea how many copies they had. I get over there, and they have an entire rack full. There must have been at least 75 copies there, so I grabbed one... Went to Guest Service and they honored my $15 for the OoT disc, so I paid my $35. I also grabbed a little GBA SP case while I was there. Good day. I'm going to clean my room before I play Zelda... In progressive scan (that was directed at a few people... they know who ;)). Edit - And no, not you Ginny :)

I'm not finding a nice pic of it now... It looks silver in these photos, but it's a really nice shiny white.

Well, you could always import it and pay $130+ instead of the normal $100 heh. I would have gotten that awesome Pearl SP if it weren't for the cost (and that it's bundled with FFT, I don't want that in Japanese lol).
Originally posted by Desbreko ...the day after it came out...
That's why lol. Retailers also seem to order a lot more games now than they used to, especially for what is basically GC's biggest release yet. I've gotten Metroid Prime and SMS easily the morning they came out without a preorder, and I'm sure I could do it again tomorrow if Best Buy screws me over. Just call around, especially at Walmarts and smaller stores. I always manage to find a game I'm looking for that way. If you go for it at night though... might miss out, might not. Walmart tends to order tons of copies, at least around here. You might be fine.

No one knows. Really they didn't say much more than that it was in the planning stages. They won't even announce what system it's on. I'd assume GC, but Sega never makes common sense business decisions. Sonic Team seems content with putting PSO all over the place... so I'm not expecting another normal Phantasy Star game for quite a while honestly.

I like Steve Martin... if he didn't do a good job hosting, I don't know. I didn't watch much. I did however see Moore's comments and hear a lot of the war jokes and so on. Seriously... if you like that stuff, then fine. This is an awards show, not some propaganda/editorial show. 95% of the actors and actresses that comment on this war have absolutely no idea what they are talking about as it is. Even Micheal Moore, who apparently everyone who doesn't like the war goes along with, is flawed, and so was his movie if you want to get down to it. I've read so many stupid comments from "stars" that it makes me feel like the world should just kill itself anyway. The Oscars certainly didn't help that.

I get mine tomorrow morning. I should have had it yesterday, but I'm keeping my cool........................................ heh... Soon enough though. At least I get Spring break next week... That's all Zelda time :)

Radio hasn't introduced me to anything new in 5 years. Most of what is played on it, I don't want to hear. Even though I listen to only the classic rock station at this point, I still somehow manage to hear whatever is popular about 1,000 times over anyway. I simply buy what I'm hearing good word of mouth about on the internet or in real life... Sometimes I go to the store and randomly buy a CD with good cover art or a nice title (I did this with Thrill Kill Kult, and many others). Sure, that's hit or miss... But I enjoy doing it lol. I don't rely on the radio to give me music, I go and find it in any way that works. I generally have some idea of what type of music the band is though (and art, titles and band names usually fit certain genres). There are so many wonderful bands and CDs the radio never plays anyway... so I wind up hearing most of what I like first myself anyway. At this point, I couldn't care less what local radio plays. I wouldn't mind being involved with something where I could get some of the stuff I love to listen to out a little more. For a city as large as Chicago, you think we'd have more diverse stations, but we don't. There was a time when we had 4 oldies stations one right after another. Luckily, only 2 survived. We have 2 soft rock stations, 3 FM talk stations, about 4 pop-mix stations, a hip-hop R&B station, one classic/new rock station and one alternative station. I'd say only 3 or so of these actually do what they do well. No one plays anything remotely unique here. There is no station that plays punk outside of mallpunk like New Found Glory. The classic rock station plays more Nirvana than the alternative station, and even that's very little. One of the mix stations plays "techno," but it's the kind of crap people can play in their basement on a computer with no real knowledge - it sucks. No one station here plays anything heavy or industrial. The alternative station dabs into Korn and Disturbed, but no thanks. So in closing: The radio still sucks. Edit - Fixed my spelling.

Usually rolling eyes adds some sarcasm to what precedes it, so that's how everyone would have taken it.

You'd be much better off just resizing it so it's 100 pixels tall, and whatever pixels wide (I'd guess 250 or so). Otherwise it just looks horrible.
-
I'm going with the first. The second one is just scanline overkill.

I love Mitch's banner. I thought it was the best thing I saw yesterday, but that's me heh.

Are any of you guys going to get this sometime soon? I'm stuck on my own here haha.

Gameplay offers up more than 200 fast-paced "microgames" that include recognizable classics, sports, shooters, and much more Enjoy the company of Wario-themed storyline elements and comedy Brand-new characters include the brainiac 9-Volt, the disco-loving Jimmy, and many more Play through 25 mini-games at a time to unlock a boss and new character-based levels Planned May 26, 2003 release --------------- I am bumping this thread because I've now gotten to play an import of the game. Story-wise, I have no idea what is going on. This is probably the weirdest game Nintendo has ever put out. From what I can figure out, Wario realizes that games make money. So he thinks more games would make more money. You wind up playing all these little games for some reason that involves that. Don't ask me what the hell I'm talking about lol. Anyway, there are apparently a lot of areas in this game. Each area has a boss at the end, and so far is made up of 10 levels. The first area is Wario in a radio, the second area is ran by some Disco dancing guy with an afro. He challenges you to games over his cell phone. Each level is a game... But each game lasts for about 3 seconds. You have four chances to get to the boss, if you mess up a game... you lose a chance. The catch is that none of the games are explained to you. You're just thrown into them. Usually they're second nature and you know just what to do... Some I had to play a couple times before I got the point. All you use is the D-Pad and the A button to play. Examples of some games: - There is a hand holding a rod at the top of the screen, and a hand you can grab with at the bottom. The hand drops the rod, and you have to grab it by pressing A. If you miss, that's it. - Wario rides around on a motorcycle and you have to avoid cars. It's a lot like the old Spy Hunter game. - You have to guide Wario through a Pacman like maze to collect coins. - You're a little guy jumping rope. You have to time his jumps by pressing A without tripping. - In a game of golf, you have to aim and putt the ball into the hole. - Wario is stuck in a Mario level, but he can't stop jumping. You have to land on a Goomba to win. And so on... It sounds really dumb, but honestly it's a hell of a lot of fun. The sound really adds to it, because it has some of the goofiest music and effects I've heard in a game in a long time. I plan on buying this for sure now.

Well I think it is good news, especially after all the rumors that Disney wanted to downplay this film in the Oscar race so they could get a win for their own films. They quickly denied those though, so I'm not sure who to believe. I didn't watch... but who got up on stage to accept the award? The Japanese involved, or Disney employees? And I'm sure the academy knows what anime is personally. These people study film for a career.

Well, the game has two quests... So I think I'll skip Tingle the first time, and use him the second time. I'll probably wind up playing through a few times as it is heh. I am not sure if Bestbuy is going to honor my "preorder" or not. They said nothing to me when I bought OoT, and there were no preorder slips out. If they won't accept it (I'm finding out tomorrow), I'm just heading to EB or Gamestop and getting it tomorrow night. All of them are expecting it in by 6 or 7 PM... I guess they ordered a dozen or so over the preorders, so I should be okay... I hope.

Let's just say that calling it "bad" would be a compliment. If it was supposed to be funny, I missed that too lol :p Isn't it weird that if you edit your post, it says your old name did it? Never noticed that before.
