Yes... Devil's Haircut. I can't remember everything :p And yeah, definately makes sense to me. I remember hearing Loser on the radio so long ago, and until somewhat recently... I had no idea that was even Beck lol. Anyway, yes definately check it out Jenna. I uploaded the two songs I mentioned earlier, so everyone can try it out. Lost Cause (MP3 - 192k) All in Your Mind (MP3 - 192k) They're both about 4 or 5 MBs in size. Please don't use one of those download accelerators if you have one. The server is pretty fast, and it's not needed... plus I don't want my server to die lol.

Don't worry, I'm not going to write 10 paragraphs :p I mostly just want to know if there are any Beck fans here. I guess that includes the people who listen to the radio, as I'm sure at least some of you heard the songs that went "two turn tables and a microphone" (Where It's At) or "I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me" (Loser). Anyway, this thread is mostly about his latest CD, Sea Change. It's not exactly new, but I recently bought it heh. It's incredibly good, depressing mellow rock music (apparently inspired by some romance of his ending)... A lot of the songs are rather simple, but they all work really well. I recommend everyone into that sort of stuff check it out. Two songs I recommend in general are Lost Cause and All in Your Mind. Here's a pic. There are four different covers for the CD... the one I got it quite different from this, but still uses the same photo of him.

There is a thread in the Sony forum that really answers any questions this thread would bring up, so I suggest you check it out. Here's the link: http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18479 I'll close this in the meantime.

Didn't anyone else get it yet? No one has said anything heh. I'm having fun with it. I've played maybe 2 hours now. I have my Torchic to level 15 and I recently evolved my Silicoon into a Beautifly, who is simply great. Fun stuff.

The whole CD has been leaked already. The internet is a fun and strange place. Too bad I won't be spending time downloading this thing as I can't stand them, but I figured I'd say that I've been hearing very good things about the album from people that have heard the promo and so on. Here's the tracklisting and lengths, which hopefully wasn't posted elsewhere on OB... although I've seen it in many other places (well just the names anyway): 1. Foreword 0:13 2. Don't Stay 3:07 3. Somewhere I Belong 3:33 4. Lying From You 2:55 5. Hit The Floor 2:44 6. Easier To Run 3:24 7. Faint 2:42 8. Figure.09 3:17 9. Breaking The Habit 3:16 10. From The Inside 2:55 11. Nobody's Listening 2:58 12. Session 2:24 13. Numb 3:07

Okay, now that the 2nd (possibly the 3rd) recent AFI thread Piro has made is dying... where the hell are all you people that claim to be fans of this band every time the band is mentioned elsewhere? I'll never understand this place lol.

We have a Pokemon forum, so I'll move it there. Make sure to check whether or not there might be a better forum to post about certain games in.

Saddam hasn't done what anyone else has wanted him to for god knows how long now. I think it's rather naive to expect any differently this time, especially with Bush thinking he is the lone ranger. He talked like a cowboy at some showdown at sunrise in that last speech. I just hope no more kids do these stupid school walkouts. They get to leave school (how convenient, considering how many kids just love school), and complain about stuff most don't even seem to understand. That 60 Minutes report on it didn't help their image much either lol. Oh well. Anyway, I'm not saying anything else in here lol. I can't stand these political threads.
Originally posted by Circéus Eh, Semjaza, do you happen to have a Sega 16 bits? (I think it's a 16 bits...) We have one of those old things somewhere out there...
Yeah, it's called a Genesis (maybe called something else in Canada? I didn't think so though heh). There are two on the floor actually. One in the top left corner and one on the top right. They're both against the bookcase with the systems on it.

Yes, that helps. I don't go to stores that would sell that... and there aren't exactly any surf shops here either lol. My knowledge is increased.

Well, I like pink... but I think I can do with out the sparklies. Thanks heh.
Originally posted by BabyGirl All that stuff you said
What the heck are Roxy brand items? I've never even heard of Roxy...

See? It happened already. It's so tiresome lol. Anyway... I've heard of Stretch Armstrong, Olga. I've not actually gotten to hear them though. I'll have to check it out, but if they're anything like the other three you listed... I probably won't be that into it.

I actually bought this today heh. I went to Target, bought Gungrave for PS2 for $15. I then brought it back without a receipt at Walmart, and got $50 store credit. Game was only $30, and it comes with a strategy guide even. Good deal. They only had Sapphire left, so I was stuck with that one. I plan on playing it a bit tonight. So I guess I'll be coming in the Pokemon forum sometimes... Everyone here seems to know 10 times more about it than I do lol. I've not played since Blue, and I didn't even play most of that.

1) What do you collect? I never really thought about this... I guess I collect lots of things. I was on some kick a while ago, where I bought every last CD/Vinyl/whatever I could find from some of my favorite bands (Apocalypse Hoboken, Manson, NIN and the Pixies). I also collect picture discs. They are vinyls, but instead of being plain black with a label, they have an image printed into them. I mostly collect Manson ones at this time. I also collect books, or used to anyway. I have more than I know what to do with, and I wound up getting some really nice older ones along the way. Lastly, I guess videogames. I have too many heh. I have hundreds of music CDs too, but I don't know that I collect them. 2) How much of the item(s) do you have? Picture disc wise... Like 5. They aren't easy to find in the US generally and there just aren't that many in existance for bands I like. Books wise... I don't know... hundreds. Games... Also in the hundreds. 3) What is your favorite out of all the items? Favorite picture disc is the Disposable Teens vinyl. Favorite book is an original Wizard of Oz. Favorite game... Well, I have complete boxed Dragon Quest 1 to 4 games from Japan. I was happy to get that, as it's my favorite game series. 4) How long have you been collecting it/them? Books and games... for as long as I can remember really. Picture discs, about 2 years. ----------- I stuck a picture on here I took several months ago. It shows most of my videogame systems... A few are missing, there are still many other specialty controllers missing... and the only games pictured are some of my DC and PSX collections. The HDTV I blew a ton of money on is also sitting there. I've recently started getting rid of some of it.

I'm having it too. It only seems to affect a few people here as of right now, and I don't know the cause of it. Before anyone recommends the obvious "refresh the page" stuff or the apparent fix-all known as cookie deleting... They don't work. The weird thing is, that if I completely log out I can get into OL just fine. I can't on my user name for whatever reason. I can also read threads in OL if I'm directly linked. I just can't see the forum itself. I'm sure it will fix soon enough, so I'm not concerned over it.

That dragon is in the demo... Which I believe reflects the first dungeon. Anyway, Nintendo isn't going to give up the GBA linking thing lol. In fact, they plan on working it into all of their upcoming games and are getting 3rd parties to do the same (Miyamoto was aiming at like 80% of 3rd party games or something). It's not going away anytime soon, and some people like it... when it's used well anyway :p. The GBA link in Zelda is nothing special anyway. Basically, whoever has the GBA controls Tingle. He can go around in dungeons dropping bombs (they cost rupees to use) on enemies or whatever else, among other things. Really, it just makes the game easier... unless whoever is on the GBA likes dropping bombs on Link heh. It's not something I'm going to bother with. At least it doesn't require a cartridge though.

There've been a bunch of threads on pretty much every music genre, and in this case, they always seem to come down to arguments and semantics about what is considered punk and what's not. NOFX is decent. MxPx's studio albums are total crap in my opinion, but they are surprisingly good live for a "mall punk" band. Personally, my favorite bands that fall into the grouping (I stick punk, hardcore and all that in one group since it's easiest) are Bad Religion, AFI, No Use For a Name, Curl Up and Die, Descendents, Millencolin, The Vandals, The Ramones and Sex Pistols. Ska-wise I always stick with Voodoo Glow Skulls. I sometimes see Modest Mouse and The Pixies grouped as punk, but I don't feel that either fit in that. I love both of these bands as well. My favorite punk band (which I'm mentioning for the 5th time now) is a local band known as Apocalypse Hoboken. They have a pretty rabid, although small, fanbase here and around the country. They broke up a couple years ago sadly, but put out Microstars on Kung Fu records before they stopped. Good thing, because it's an excellent album. I think a piece of me died with them heh.

I can't say there is that much to live up to... heh. I like the series though. Jason X was extremely tongue in cheek. It doesn't take itself seriously at all. You'll see a lot of points in the movie where it sort of pays homage to things the older ones has done, but sticks them in a somewhat humorous light. There were some good deaths (one in particular,
involving freezing a girls head and then smashing it against a counter
). Really, it's mindless and you won't get anything new or original out of it. It's nothing special, but it's not bad to waste some time with.

Are you male or female? Male. Shocking! How long has your longest relationship lasted? 8 months officially, although if you count all of it, something like 2 years. What was the worst ending to a relationship you have been in? The last one. All was supposedly well after we broke up... Until I saw her online one day and she completely went nuts on me and came up with all these things that happened that never really did. She also said some right out nasty things about me. Some people here know about this. What is the one thing you hope to find in your perfect mate? I guess in a word: understanding. what is your pet peve about the people you date? There are certain things people do that will cause me to not date them in the first place... but other than that, I can't really think of anything. I don't like when a girl is an attention whore though, but I've not personally had this with someone I dated. Have you ever used a pick up line? No. Have you ever had a pick up line used on you? I've dated three girls that were the ones who asked me out, but I wouldn't call anything they said a "pick up line." Guys only What do you think women want? If I knew this, I most likely wouldn't go through the general hell I usually go through with those I date somewhere along the line. I'd like to think they'd want someone that is a nice guy (short description), but I find that most girls are instinctly attracted to dumb a**holes. In your opinion, what is the general behavior of women? There really isn't one. Most girls I know are completely different, and I don't really have any set thing I expect most girls to do or be like. Even the ones I think I understand, I don't. I can't answer this lol.

I love rats. My rats were the best pets I ever had :) So yeah, that's the only reason I'd even be slightly interested in seeing this movie... And even that's not really enough. I can see my friend wanting to see it though. He has the absolute worst taste in movies I've ever seen. I've had to sit through Boa, Dragon Fighter and several other B-rated movies that always seem to star Dean Cain. One of them was about a snake that lived in Anarctica. This is right up his alley heh. I've not seen Cripsin Glover since Back to the Future. He doesn't look much different.

My father was a biker... My step-father is a biker. I've seen this stuff everyday of my life, and most likely seen some far more extreme tatooings and piercings than most people I know. As such, this has never been a big deal to me... For me, it was always normal I'm not planning on ever getting all decked out like that personally, but I have no problems with it. Sexual things and drugs were commonplace as well, but everyone knew their limits and kept the kids as sheltered from it all as possible. They weren't as reckless as you'd be led to believe, and most were very responsible and caring people. It was basically another family. And give me a break. They're parents. They're concerned about their children's safety. If they've been brought up where those sort of people worry them... Then fine. Who knows how they lived, maybe something happened that worried them about such people (or they were like that themselves even). There are a lot of jerks around, and people equate that look with that sort of ideal. Whether or not it is right is rather irrelevent. Must everyone be so PC? Anyway... I don't know that I dress in any specific category. People seem to think I'm a skater sometimes, but that's only on certain days heh. I've gotten stares from people from dying my hair strange shades (pink, violet, green, blue, whatever). I get some stares from certain clothes I like to wear. It's just how things are. Some people stare because it's just considered "unusual"... But there are many people who definately do look at you like you are pure evil and wouldn't stop at a chance to slit their throats and rape their daughters. People just aren't used to these things, especially older people and most parents... so of course there is this strand of fear in them about it. It's something unknown to them. This of course leads to a lot of them thinking that stuff on TV is true and that every kid around is ultraviolent or whatever else. I remember for a while I was going out really late at night. I'd be leaving at around 2 AM and coming back the next day... And one of those nights, my mom stopped me and said, "What is going on? Are you doing drugs? Ecstacy?" This was from my own mom, someone who I thought would know better. I laughed til my lungs hurt. I don't do drugs, I don't smoke and I don't drink. You'd think your own mom would realize these things.... But parents are programmed to be protective and believe every bad thing they hear about younger generations. Get used to it. That's all there really is to say.

I wasn't referring to TN in the first place. People were talking about all these different limits and what they were, and I know for a fact that the boards on the other server had the limit in place. I've had it tell me my signature was too long, and I had seen it in various settings when I was admined for a short time as well. It was there, and it was 8 lines... not 4 or nonexistant. Anyway, some people are going too far with this. I have no problem with banners. My problem lies exactly with what treton_noir said... The people who write out entire songs, poems or whatever where basically every 5 words there is a line break. You wind up with something that is many inches in length in some cases. I know there are a couple here that are nearly a foot in length, and that's on 1024x768 (my LCD doesn't go any higher). I can't imagine how it is for people with lower resolutions. I don't mind these buddy lists and fan clubs either obviously. Most people just type them out straight across and they fit in a few little lines. There are others who feel some need to put every single member on their own line, which is another story. I don't want sigs removed. I don't want banners removed. I want to see these things. I DO, however, think it is rude (for lack of a better word) for someone to have to scroll past these massive sigs on a regular basis and have so many people take advantage of the fact that there is currently no limit in place. So, now all there is to do is wait.

Honestly, all this makes me think about are those hilarious shows and such from the 50s and 60s... The ones where they'd guess what the future would be 30 for 40 years in the future, but still somehow were way off. People like jumping to nearly impossible and otherwise unlikely conclusions. I'm still waiting for my flying cars and a summer house on the moon. No one knows this stuff obviously... But the world has been around for god only knows exactly how long, and I doubt this will change. Nature (or whatever you want to call it) kills off things that aren't good for it eventually. If we continue on a path of screwing up the earth, well everyone will die and life will begin anew. It all runs in a cycle more or less. Otherwise I don't think many things will change... humanity wise. People have been more or less the same since their creation, despite the technological advances. I can't see war or hatred ever just getting near the point of disappearing. There will always be fears, it's what fuels all that stuff. Still... this is not something that worriesme. I'm not even that concerned over where I'll be in 30 years, yet alone what things will be like 500 something years from now.
