Their biggest hit was actually Movies, which wasn't a cover song at all. I don't see what it matters. Why post about a band you obviously know next to nothing about? I'm hardly defending them, as I think they suck... But you don't see me going into Japanese music threads acting like it's beneath me. You have this air of superiority about you when you talk about the music you like. As if it's somehow empowering to like these bands so few even know about. You listen to J-Rock and whatever else. Congratulations. That's cool with me, and I respect that. But, sometimes I really think you think American music sucks because you have no idea what's out there. If I looked at it in that sense I'd think so too, as what is on the radio usually does suck. But when someone thinks what Linkin Park put out is above what else is available and is somehow unique, it makes me question how much they really know about what they're talking about. I just find it really surprising that you'd go way out of your way to discover what Japan has to offer without even knowing that much about what's here. You just dismiss it. If you heard most of what was offered here and still disliked it, then cool. It sure doesn't seem like that's the case though.

I was wondering why more people hadn't posted in this... And I bet anything it's because most people don't even know the names of the members in their "favorite" band. The ironing is delicious.

Yeah, the characters bruise and like Charles said, you can break limbs... Although I don't really get the point considering you can't do much with a broken leg. Apparently there are ways to heal though. I think the game looks horrible. It's impressive how detailed and high-poly the models are... But the character designs are SO UGLY. On top of that, a lot of the character shots seem to want to sell the girls with sex appeal. I'm sorry, but an already hard to look at girl won't look any better bruised up with broken arms. On top of that, I hear it doesn't play like anything special. No thanks.

Their videos were always really weird. I get them mixed up because none really have anything to do with the songs... They all just have the band standing there and playing. In one they have these weird things over them so they looked deformed (like those carnival mirrors), another where Black Francis just opens and closes his mouth instead of singing... another where they just smile at the camera and pretend to play. It's just strange heh.

I've found that this is what people think in general. It doesn't seem like many people get very far in the game before they dismiss him, and early on all he does is laugh and act weird. As for Sin... The whole "I hate my dad!" thing drove me nuts. Sin is still a lot more than Jecht, at least to my understanding... And I can't exactly be interested in him when most of it is from Tidus' weird perspective. And for FF7, Meteor was stopped. Obviously not everyone died, because if they did nothing would have happened. So therefore, he didn't really kill any of those people. Kefka totally rearranged the planet's surface with his actions, and in the process killed who knows how many people. He wins. If you want to get into other things he planned to do, since obviously Sephiroth planned to kill everyone and didn't, Kefka still leads I'd say.

Disabling them isn't something I really want to do either, because sometimes people have interesting something-or-others in their sigs and such... I guess that will probably be my only option though.

I know many boards are worse. Doesn't make it any less bothersome. If this place allowed 20 images in a signature and everything else some boards did, believe me... I'd not come here.

I've come to find that nearly everyone in the world thinks Sephiroth. I've also found that people who never got very far in FF6 think Kefka's a clown and can't compare. I think these people should beat that game and realize that Kefka could kick Sephiroth's *** any day of the week... and at the same time we get to avoid all the drama about how horrible his life (or lack of it I guess) is and what he deserves in it (Kefka had this too, but at least they knew when to stop). Kefka's killed more people indirectly than Sephiroth ever did, and you can't even compare all the people he actually got rid of in cold blood, because it still overwhelms what Sephiroth had done (even after that burning everything down business). [i]Sephiroth is the most overrated villian in RPG history.[/i] There I said it. As for Sin, I don't really compare it to the other villians in the series mostly because it's just this giant [i]thing[/i]. It lacks any human qualities that I could truly identify with or be interested in, and although I guess in a sense it embodies all evil... I don't feel it's the best of the group.

This is something that annoys me every once in a while, but it's rather uncommon in general so I guess it's not a big deal. I would like to see if others here agree with me though. I don't mind signatures. I don't mind whatever the hell is in them either in general... What I do mind is these [b]really damn long[/b] ones that measure sometimes several inches in length. I think it's ridiculous, especially considering a good deal of the people with signatures of this length post maybe 3 sentences most of the time. Why does your signature have to be ten times as long? Now I know OB already has some sort of maximum for sigs. I remember it being something like 8 lines... but apparently, it's not actual [i]lines[/i] like I assumed, but more like a certain number of characters that would normally fit on 8 lines... So we wind up with these poems and stuff that are just incredibly long. I sometimes pack a ton of stuff in my sigs, but I try to keep them around a certain size. I kind of consider that a common courtesy to others here who don't want to have to load all that and scroll past it everytime I post. Or something like that heh. So in short... is there something we can do about this? Am I the only one it even bothers? Any comments on it would be appreciated I suppose.

Sadly everyone seems to be downloading most of the songs that I really don't think will get them into tweaker at all heh. Swamp is quite good, but it's completely instrumental. If you are able, get Happy Child. It's my favorite. For me, Zwan and Smashing Pumpkins are really different in certain ways that I don't even compare them. Smashing Pumpkins was always a guitar driven band (even in songs where the focus was on bass for example, the lead guitar always had the forefront). It isn't like this in Zwan so much, and as a result it feels less like [i]Billy[/i] than it really is an entire band. Everyone seems almost equal in it, and I really never got that feeling with the Pumpkins. Even when James Iha sang I got that sense. Maybe it's just me though. In short, Zwan rocks for its own reasons... and since the subject matter seems so different (I guess happier), I think there's a chance that they can meet and exceed the Pumpkins after time. I think you're way late on the Alice in Chains though haha.

They actually had two other singles... Whisper and a cover of Smooth Criminal. I know this and I didn't even like them lol. So it wasn't just one song and they disappeared... They just haven't managed to get another CD out yet.

They aren't a one hit wonder whatsoever... That'd be something like Rico Suave, who put out one song and totally and completely disappeared. Alien Ant Farm at least had a fanbase from the entire CD compared to that heh. They're alright. Around that time there was this sudden surge of bands that all sounded like that, and I can't say any of them really interested me.

Did anyone that said they were going to get some songs manage to yet? I just noticed Cora's haha. What CD is it? I was looking at some NME list, and they had the Pixies' Doolittle as the number 2 album ever... NME is a crap magazine, but still. It was nice heh.

Heh. That's what I thought... it's not a good thing to do. Paying back loans is not fun, especially when there is a good alternative. Sounds to me like your mom just doesn't want to let you go and have you grow up without her being there (or something in that vein). I guess you'll just have to sit her down and explain to her why you want to go and what it means to you. College is kind of the point where you have to make your first real decisions on your life. High School might seem like it, but it really isn't until you start applying for colleges (at least in my opinion). I'm sure you love your mom and all that, but she just cannot be the major focus of a decision that is going to affect where you go in your life.

lol I just said all that to Tasis earlier today, and to someone else a while back when the latest lookalikes were first shown. Considering quite a few people are coming to that conclusion, I'd have to say it's the most likely.

Fighting!! lol She's a lot faster in the games, and I tend to stick with those characters. Not looks wise heh. I think she's like half Morrigan's age lookwise as it is... no thanks haha.

I get what your mom is saying, but it doesn't really make sense... If I'm understanding you heh. When you take core classes, you take them at a community college or something and just get them out of the way. It's meant to save you time and money. Going to an even more expensive school for the core classes makes very little sense. If she [i]did[/i] mean a community college type deal where you take the core classes (that's what I'm not clear on, sorry), then that is actually a good idea. It will save you a lot of money, but since you already know what you want to do... You might be better off just jumping head first into it.

I'm sure UGA has some sort of work study or on campus jobs as well, which would make that even better. They don't pay well, but at least they are close (and usually pretty damn easy). You're not going to want to have to pay back $80,000 going to Mercer... at least I wouldn't. I'm paying $10,000 a year and some banks/loan places are already trying to hit me up for money. It's not fun, and my parents don't help me with school whatsoever... so it's all on me. Really... do both schools offer what you want? That's really the most important thing.

Heh. I think it was used well in this case. I didn't imply that as strongly as I should have. Pink, especially bright shades of it, is one of my favorite colors for some odd reason... so it's nice to see someone make good use of it rather than blowing it off.

Sounds a lot like my situation. My dad never finished highschool, yet he is VP at his family owned business (which is doing rather well here). I don't know how far my mom got, but she doesn't work now anyway. For me, college was never on my mind. My highschool closed Junior year and I was stuck going somewhere I totally hated. From then I on I was in this "who gives a ****" mindset that really screwed me over. Luckily you're not heh. I originally went away for college, but for me it was a 7 hour drive to southern Illinois (let's just call the school Southern). To say I hated it was an understatement, but it was great to finally get completely away from my parents. I don't know if that's one of your reasons or not, but I'd guess so heh :) I wound up coming back here and going to school in our city, but if I didn't go to Southern I would have never known how it would have turned out. Even though I hated it and failed all but one of my classes, I was glad I went because it was a new experience. So for that reason, and the fact that you really want to go there... I say go to UGA and good luck :). You're parents will understand this I'd thing. College is something that affects [i]your[/i] life, and it should be your decision.

I thought the anime was alright, and I can't really think of much more to say about it lol. I'm not sure it could ever do what I wanted though, as the Vampire/Darkstalkers series is my favorite fighting game series in existance. I personally prefer Lilith to Morrigan heh... fighting wise anyway :p

Ah. I know what you're talking about now. It seems to be set up differently in this game. When you go into Config in the menu, you can select Collection. I'm playing FF2 right now, and the 3 selections in there are Bestiary, Item Collection and Art Gallery. The Bestiary is useful for obvious reasons. Item collection itself is rather useful too, because it lets you see how many items are hidden in each town, how many you've found and what they were. They seem to fill up as you find things... so the bestiary is added to everytime you fight a new monster, and so on. Few other things... The loading is now officially getting on my nerves. If you could handle the loading of FF6 on PSX, then you'll be fine. I personally can't lol.

It is shown on PBS stations in the states... The one here in Chicago owns the local rights to the show, but refuses to show it for who knows what reason.

That and the darker one looks disgusting. I much prefer the pink one. Besides, pink can be a kickass color is used right.
