1. Yep. What he said :D. We've already talked it to death.
2. I'm not about to go back and read 6 pages of quiz (and I'm on 50 posts a page...) to see if someone asked that question lol.
3. I have it... But I've not beat it. I know many people that think it's amazing, but I'm not one of them. It was like... short bouts of "This game is amazing" and then "God, I'm bored as hell." Over and over and over. I don't feel it was worth thr $40 I paid. On the other hand, some people think it's the best platformer out now for PS2 other than Sly Cooper. My little brother loves it to pieces. I don't know anything about the length... But it sounded as though it was a decent amount of time for a game of its type. Anyway, from responses in the past... I think I'm one of like 3 people here that even own the game, let alone talk about it. So I doubt anyone here can answer your questions silentdeath. I'd try GameFAQs.com
4. Most of my dreams are incredibly random. I only have two that seem to reoccur, although the actual settings are always different. All my other dreams are incredibly morbid, violent and disturbing (I'd say a good 80% of my dreams are like this). I've never had a dream that was like a nightmare where I'd wake up because of it in the middle of the night (well maybe once, I'll talk about that one later). So I get to sit through these horrible dreams I'd rather not see. They are good to base art off of though. Anyway, the first one I have is this stupid dream where I can fly. I move my arms in some weird flapping motion and I fly around my neighborhood. It's quite fun. I've not had that in years. The second one I used to get a lot in gradeschool. I'd be getting a ride to school (which was weird since it was just across the street heh), and for some reason when we got there I'd be on the floor of the car. I could never tell what happened really... but my clothes would be huge and I'd just be hiding in them. I'm not clear if I shrunk or what. As for the possible nightmare... You ever notice that if you are doing something in a dream you might wake up doing it? Like maybe you hit something in your dream, and you'd wake up to yourself banging into the wall or something... Anyway, I had this one dream where I was drowning in some dark place, which was bad in itself. The problem was that I woke up during it, and for some reason my body seemed to be registering that the dream was actually happening. My eyes were open, but I couldn't see anything. I kept trying to breathe, but I felt like I was winded. Nothing was coming in. This seriously scared the total **** out of me, because I didn't know what was going on. It only lasted about 10 seconds I'd say, but it was still not a good experience heh.
5.
...On June 3rd, Warner Bros will release The Animatrix (SRP $24.98). The DVD includes 9 short films directed by some of the most talented artists working in Anime and CG animation today, written and conceived by the Wachowski Brothers and set in the same universe as The Matrix feature films. The shorts take place in parallel to the stories depicted in the feature films, and tie into them in many ways. One of the shorts, the 9-minute The Final Flight of the Osiris (directed by Andy Jones, animation by Square USA, Inc), is actually a prelude to The Matrix Reloaded. You'll have the chance to see it in theaters on March 21st, attached to Warner's Dreamcatcher. We were able to screen it last night, at a special preview event at the studio for the Enter the Matrix video game. It's a pretty incredible piece of photo-realistic CG animation - think Final Fantasy and you're in the right ballpark (Square produced that film as well). In addition to The Final Flight of the Osiris, you'll get The Second Renaissance: Parts 1 and 2 (directed by Mahiro Maeda (of Blue Submarine No. 6 fame), animation by Studio4°C, Tokyo), Kid's Story (directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop), animation by Studio4°C), Program (directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Vampire Hunter D and Ninja Scroll), animation by Madhouse Studios, Tokyo), World Record (directed by Takeshi Koike (lead animator on Wicked City), animation by Madhouse Studios), Beyond (directed by Koji Morimoto (animation supervisor on Akira), animation by Studio4°C), Detective Story (directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, animation by Studio4°C) and Matriculated (directed by Peter Chung (creator of MTV's Aeon Flux), animation by DNA, Seoul). The Animatrix will also include Scrolls to Screen: The History and Culture of Anime, 7 behind-the-scenes featurettes, audio commentaries for The Second Renaissance: Parts 1 and 2, Program and World Record (all in the original Japanese audio with English subtitles), and a look at the making of the Enter the Matrix game, featuring interviews with Jada Pinkett and Carrie-Anne Moss. Audio will be English & Japanese Dolby Digital 5.1. At least some of the shorts (if not all) are anamorphic widescreen. Get all that? Whew!
Okay, contrary to what I thought... These shorts are being made by actual Japanese studios (well mostly). I figured it would be Western animation copying anime. Glad to see I was wrong. Anyway, the shorts are debuting on the web first at www.theanimatrix.com The best thing is that they aren't some crappy low res streams... You can get a nice widescreen video of the first short that's like 640x272 (perhaps anamorphic, I forget the exact comparisions). You'll see that more will be put up in the coming months. These things are massive though. I have no idea what the smallest version is, but the Medium is about 90 MBs and the Large is like 140 MBs. http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/index_anime.html is where they are streamed at. For those that want the direct downloads... Medium - http://progressive.stream.aol.com/wb/gl/wbonline/progressive/thematrix/us/med/animatrixmedfinal_dl.mov Large - http://progressive.stream.aol.com/wb/gl/wbonline/progressive/thematrix/us/med/animatrixlgfinal_dl.mov
6. Leave it open. After the thread I did in here, I think you'll find that you'll mostly get good reponses :). As for me... I don't know how my post came off. I have nothing against people who smoke. I don't judge people that do. People thing some things I like to do are really stupid (although I'd say they don't have a chance of hurting me), so given that I kind of try to stay open to everyone else's wants and opinions. If people tell me they smoke, I don't get disgusted or get preachy on them. I think, "Bleh, I don't know why people do."... but that's it. I'm certainly no higher authority on the subject. However, I personally can't handle being around smoke for even short periods. My parents used to smoke a lot, and I had horrible bhroncitus (or however that's spelled). My mom quit, my stepdad cut back and I've not had it since. That's one of my bigger reasons for not doing it. I've smoked about twice, and it did nothing for me. It's not like weed, where people claim you have to do it a few times before it gets you high... (Which brings up the whole "acquired taste" thing. Everyone says that for stuff that I think is digusting. Beer is an acquired taste, etc. I'm sure if I drank piss everyday I'd like it eventually too... heh.) I think people after a while just associate the feeling of filling their nicotine cravines with actual stress relief... which is understandable. Cigarettes did nothing for me. They tasted bad and made it feel like something was clawing in my throat. Years back, due to various things, I decided that I was not going to do these sorts of things. I only smoked twice, never actually drank more than twice and smoked up once. I just saw all the people (older) that I knew that did this stuff, and while I loved them and everything... I didn't want to be like them. That was my main motivation, but certainly not the only one. I'm not like elitest. People should make up their own minds. Like I said before, people that smoke now have to know the risks after all those lawsuits. If somehow the good outweighs the bad in their mind for it, then cool with me. Just don't puff it in my face and we're cool :D.
7. I don't smoke, won't smoke and considering smoking to probably be one of the biggest turn offs imaginable. I won't date a girl whatsoever if I know she smokes regularly. The only other problem I have with it are the jerk people downtown that ash their cigarettes high up while they are walking... so it flies into your face... Bleh. Otherwise, if people want to smoke... fine. They should know the risks by now, and they can make up their own minds.
8. I already talked about the above with you. I feel Lik-Sang is a decent import site though. Anyway, there are complaints with the product from users. Apparently the Freeloader has problems with anything heavy on FMV as it shares a cache in the system with it. So basically RE and RE:Zero have major problems... It can be fixed I imagine with future patches and such, but I don't know for sure.
9. If anyone said or spelled out lol in person, I'd probably punch them in the face.
10. Cid was longtime friends of Cecil and Rosa. He was not her father though. Her father was killed when she was a child... I'll edit this later with a good question heh. Edit - - Nothing great is coming to mind, so here is an easy one... In FF6, what are the names of Cyan's son and wife?
11. In terms of relationships, I can't find a similiar parallel in the three. FF4 - Cid isn't related to anyone in this game, nor does he take care of anyone. The main female characters (Rosa and Rydia) have seemingly no real bond to him. FF6 - Cid is not Celes true relative, but he did raise her. FFX - The father of Rikku. So those are the only explained relationships I can think of. 6 and X are simliar, but not really. The only other thing that comes to mind is that they are all inventors (FFX and FF4 - He does airships, FF6 - makes that thing that drains the espers, etc), which apparently isn't what you're looking for. I've not beaten FFX, so I don't know about this one... But in FF6 and FF4 both Cids get severerly injured/killed trying to save someone. In FF4 I believe he dies, and in FF6 he gets very sick afterwards (although you can save him. I doubt that's it though lol. I should add that Cid dying was completely edited in the US version of FF2 on the SNES. I'm not sure if that was changed in the PSX release of it or not, considering they redid the translation.

Eminem

I have very little thoughts on him surprisingly (usually I never shut up in these thread hehe XD). I find it extremely egotistical and obnoxious honestly. At the same time I find some of his songs rather catchy and surprisingly intelligent, which is rather refreshing. Sometimes he makes comments that make me want to take back the "egotistcal" thing I said. I was surprised that he actually admitted he got this far in good part because he was white, among other things. Him and Manson are actually friends, which is the only reason I ever know anything about what Eminem is doing. I would love to see the full clip of Manson and Eminem playing a The Way I Am live in Germany (although there is a rather average remix of the song on the Marshall Mathers LP rerelease featuring Manson). The Manson DVD had a random Eminem clip on it too heh. Strange collaborations I guess heh. Anyway, he's not bad overall. I certinaly wouldn't listen to him for any extended period time though. Once a month will suffice :D. Also, I really liked the video with Dido for the song Stan.
13. He lost his childhood like Kenji mentioned. His dad was brutal to him and his brothers and sisters, and it must have been horrible having so much expected of you. I know that most people would think "Horrible? He is/was rich and famous." Yeah that's true, but if the guy were happy, I don't think he'd be doing all these things he does. So really, I don't think he did anything to those kids. The way he describes it is so nonsexual. Yes, he sleeps in the same bed as kids who come over for sleepovers... Yeah, it sounds weird. The way he phrases it though, makes it seem like he wishes he could be a kid again... That this somehow makes him feel like he is getting his childhood back in a sense. If you know anything about him, you'd know he is obsessed with youth and staying young. Hell, he named his amusement park Neverland and filled it with Peter Pan statues. Sure, if you put a spin on it to feed your agenda, it's going to make him sound really damn creepy... He obviously has a much different opinion of it. I'm also really annoyed by the fact that a few people (no one here that I know of) are picking out parts of that interview (the guy basically joined Jackson for months and watched and interacted with him) and harping on them without reading all the context. I remember someone saying that Jackson denied ever having plastic surgery in the interview. That isn't true, in fact he admits to having nosejobs (although he claims only two, yeah right)... The only thing he said "No" and "That's silly" to were all these crazy surgery questions. Anyway, I say leave the guy the hell alone. Yeah, he is weird in a sense... But I hardly would consider him a criminal like he often referred to (although there was apparently a LOT more to that sex case than ever left court documents, I think someone involved is writing a book on that. Until I see it, I'll still think otherwise). Invincible still managed to go double platinum even after all the scandal, ********, weird interiews where he compares himself to God, disinfecting arenas before he plays, wearing masks, putting carnival masks and full body veils on his kids... blah blah blah. So in short, I'd like to see more facts... Not people blindsiding Jackson over anything they can think of. The sad thing is that so much weird stuff has happened, that it's hard to not believe stuff you see about him in tabloids. Anyway... musically... He had some good tracks, but never really did anything for me. I never got into him, and to this day I can't. I'll listen to Thriller sometimes (or anything else from those days), but it's nothing I am in love with.
14.
Originally posted by treton_noir (i think judging music by the date is a bunch of trendy BS and it really pisses me off. i.e. most "hip-hop fans" listen to a new track or record for a few weeks, put it down, and never touch it again. they always want something new and have no appreciation for earlier work. if a band makes a good track. that track will be good if its 10 minutes old or if its 10 million years old.)
This reminds me of something I wrote in some post here about that type of music. There was an issue of The Source, and of course the cover had a flavor of the month on it (or at least someone I don't feel should be respected as much as they are)... In the corner was a tiny, tiny little blurb about someone who could be considered one of the founding fathers of rap/hip hop (the name escapes me right now). I think the actual article was also tiny. I just find it really sad that it's like that with that genre. In rock, bands call their influences all the time. I hardly ever hear a rap/hiphop group ever mention any other group. There are all these old collaborations. You know that some bigger rock groups of today would bend over backwards to play a tour or even one song with some rock legend... but in this genre, it doesn't seem to be the case. Oh well, I went off on a tangent heh. I apologize.
15. I listen to many bands that have been playing since the 80s... I'm sure a lot of people here do as well, and don't even know it. I'll even go back farther with bands I am really into. I like 80s music. I always have. I grew up on it, along with 60s and 70s rock. A lot of what I'm about to list may have played earlier than this, but I feel most of their main stuff was still releaseed in the 80s... Stuff like Gary Numan, The Police, The Cars, Genesis, Micheal Jackson, Queen (although a far lesser extent than the 70s), Madonna (before she sucked), Boy George, Depeche Mode (again, I feel they were mostly an 80s band), Motley Crue (maybe they were more 90s? I forget), Bauhaus, Ministry (yay Wax Trax), The Clash (short lived as that was)...etc etc. Plus bands that had already been around and were still playing such as Bowie and Aerosmith and some of the older punk bands. Of course many of them are still playing today. Manson, NIN, The Flaming Lips, Beastie Boys (although to a far, far lesser extent than the others I mentioned), The Pixies and so many other bands I love started in the 80s... And while they have updated their sound, I think they still have the same core sound -- well not The Pixies, they broke up so long ago. Now if a band came out sounding like that...? I don't know that I'd consider them outdated. I'd judge them on if they were good or not, and whether they brought anything new or interesting to the table. Whether it sounded 80s (or even older) would make no difference to me. I feel many bands I like are influenced by something even older, and while that influence is more prominent in some bands than others... I think the 80s sounds should be looked back at something good, rather than outdated. It kind of reminds me of the Happy Birthday thread you made. I made a comment about not being able to get into a lot of the songs I'd heard to that point because they sounded like 80s rock. I like 80s rock, but for some reason most of jrock (or whatever each band is refered to as) never really did anything for me. The songs you posted changed my mind about my perception of it on a whole though. I suppose that's just something more people need to happen to them as well. Of course you have to realize that most people are extremely fickle, misinformed and extremely ignorant when it comes to music outside of the obvious stuff. It's like that everywhere. I hope that made sense :D.

Incubus

Perhaps you should listen to the full CD before making the judgement I guess. Incubus can grow on you if you let it, just like most other bands. I like Incubus. I remember when SCIENCE came out, along with Fungus Amongus... But that was years back when I was reserved to only basically one genre of music (metal). I always assumed they were some sort of R&B/Hip Hop group at the time... If anyone has the Spawn Soundtrack, listen to the track with them called Familiar and you'll probably see why (although it is a damn good song). I bought Make Yourself after seeing part of the video for Pardon Me at Target. The video was simply great, one of the better one's I've seen that mostly focus on the band themselves. I didn't wind up loving everything on the CD, but about half of it had some nearly perfect songs in my opinion. Morning View never really caught my interest for some reason. I've still yet to bother listening to the copy my (now) ex made me. So yeah... I like them, but they are nowhere near being in my top bands list. I've never understood why many people hate on them though and refer to them as mostly a boy band. Whenever the lead singer looks good, that always seems to be an attack lol.
17. http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/rl_cmp/anime_sec_ren1_episode.html This is the link to Animatrix. It's one of the best things I've seen in a while. I think that's a whole episode according to the site. Until the DVD comes out, this is the only way to see it. I guess it's supposed to all be shown on the web first, so hopefully this won't be considered advertising. The largest one is available yet. The other two are. I also have a direct link to download the middle one if someone wants it. I'm not going to post it though.
18. You have to make a link to something. whatever , without the spaces. It doesn't just appear for whatever you want it to.
19. I know several people have asked me personally about this. I'm sure nearly any person in the UK should be interested as well, as the NoE's release schedule is pure hell for anyone that likes the GC. Freeloader should be instock at stores and online places by the 11th. Apparently some places have it now. The below is worth skimming over to see what you have to do to use it. http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=2805
GameCube Freeloader Review and Screenshots - play import games on your GameCube Tue Feb 4 2003 21:11:29 Hong Kong Time - GameCube Ian Osborne, editor of G-Force, took time out from putting together the GameCube's best magazine to write this special web-only review! It?s been a long time in the making, but now Datel?s near-legendary region enabler is ready to roll. So what can it do for GameCube owners? Read on... After all the waiting, missed release dates and false starts, It?s finally arrived. FreeLoader is out now, and GameCube gaming will never be the same again. FreeLoader allows you to play any GameCube game on any GameCube, regardless of region encoding. UK gamers with PAL GameCubes can order the latest games from America and Japan, getting to play the really great blockbusters without waiting for their European release. Why wait for Resident Evil Zero, Metroid Prime, Animal Crossing, Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and more, when you can order from abroad and play them months ahead of their PAL release? And because ANY FreeLoader works on ANY Cube, you can also use it to play PAL games on an NTSC machine. That?s right ? if you imported your Cube to take advantage of the earlier release dates enjoyed overseas, you can use FreeLoader to play PAL games on it. At last you can take advantage of the great second hand deals at your local high street independent. It's straightforward to use too. Just boot up your GameCube with the FreeLoader disc inserted and when prompted, open the lid and swap your FreeLoader disc for the game you want to play. It couldn't be simpler. As FreeLoader is a software-only tool, no hardware modifications are needed. You won't invalidate your warranty and you don't run the risk of ruining your console by fitting a mod chip. FreeLoader works with any imported game, even two-disc titles like Resident Evil. NTSC games will still be output at 60Hz as opposed to the slower 50Hz, though, so if you're playing your GameCube on a very old television through an RF lead, you won't be able to use it. However, any TV bought in the last decade is more than capable of handling 60Hz signals; if you're playing through the composite cable supplied with your Cube, with or without the SCART adapter, you're fine. If you?re interested in enhancing games as well as busting open the region coding, check out Action Replay. Due to hit the shelves a week after FreeLoader, Action Replay offers all the functionality of FreeLoader but also allows you to cheat and train games using an updatable codes database. At $36.95 it?s well worth the extra $12 but if you really don't need the extra functions, then FreeLoader is the kit for you. FreeLoader in action... FreeLoader is incredibly easy to use. Just follow these simple steps... Load your FreeLoader disc in the usual way ? you see this screen. Open the lid for this prompt. Insert your game disc and close the lid again and you?re away! FreeLoader detects the region of most games automatically, but if you have any problems, press ?Z? at the FreeLoader screen for this menu. Choose the region of the game you want to play. When the region?s flag appears, open the Cube and swap discs!
Now as you can see, unlike a mod... This lets you play PAL games on NSTC TVs, and NSTC games (US and Japan) on PAL TVs. So you can finally import whatever the hell you want. www.ebgames.com is also selling it. Expect it to be around $20 to $25 wherever you go. Important: If you get this, please keep in mind that you need a seperate card for US and Japanese games. You simply cannot save a Japanese game and a US game on the same card. The GC won't allow it and will reformat the card - basically meaning you lose ALL your saves and you're SOL. The same goes with standard mods (although apparently there is a new mod that fixes that, don't know much about that). So yeah, get a couple memory cards heh.
20. The MSRP is only $20... So if it sucks, at least you didn't waste too much money.
21. There is also... a singing scene. Yuna gets onstage and has to perform before an audience (apparently to distract people so Rikku and whoever can do something). There is a video of it around, although I've not seen it. Yuna's singing voice is some famous jpop star, but I forget her name. The dancing is apparently motion capped from her too, although according to what I've been told, the singer isn't a good dancer heh. Apparently "Pop Star" is another class as well, but I'm not sure of the truth in that. This might replace the "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA" scene in FFX as the most embarassing RPG cutscene ever.
22. Devil Hunter Yohko is another name for it, and what's on the old ADV tape I have (back when they mostly put out anime with nudity all over it). I forget just exactly which tape it was though. Personally, I think it's rather stupid. There is nothing all that impressive about in any respect... although I like Yohko's character design (there is some beautiful art of her around), but that's about it. It seems to improve in the tapes afterwards... (I saw it so long ago that I don't remember if it's an OVA series or what). It's not that gross. You could do far worse than this anime, and still not even get close to the goriness/sexuality of many other anime that still aren't considered hentai.
23. That's the PDO Xbox. This is one of the few actual photos I've seen of it, most places only have concept art. They only made something like 999 of these (maybe it was 9,999 lol - not so limited in Japan considering how poor Xbox sells on a whole).
24. In case people missed it, the game came out this past Tuesday. I'm going to spare you all the common knowledge stuff about the story, which is basically about air pirates (think a more cheery FF4). Pros and Cons: + Character models are slightly improved. Characters have individual rendered fingers now (on DC their hands were basically like a block). The faces seem a bit more clear, and also... Aika's boobs aren't as pointy! Yay :D. + Textures on a whole seem a lot more clear, but not quite as vivid as I remember them being on the DC. Still, it is an improvement. + Encounters have been lessened from the DC version. Based on what I've played, I'd say I've gotten into about 1/3 less fights than I did on the original (especially while flying). This is a good thing, as the original rate was so high it was annoying. + New bad characters have been added, as well as a new character named Piastol (who apparently is unplayable though). New scenes and discoveries and such have been added as well. Anything that was available only online with the DC version is in this game in some way. - The music seems slightly muffled and tinny at points. It's definately not bad, but not as high quality as the DC version - Remember how nearly every DC game had floor textures that blurred into the distance? SoA was one of those, and for some damn reason the GC version still has this problem. +/- Pinta's Quest has been removed, since there is no VMU. I won't miss it so I don't know if I'd consider it a + or a -. - Despite all this, it's still a port of a three year old game. It looks very good art wise, but is rather low in poly. It's not all that much worse than Suikoden III though. So should you get this? If you never played the original -- Yes. It's one of the better RPGs in recent years. I was also happy to see how cheerful it was, especially considering all the dark and angst ridden RPGs that are popular now. If you own the original -- If you love the game, I think it's worth the time. There is about 5 to 10 hours of new material in the game for people that want to get it. Personally, I bought it because all the annoyances I had with the DC version were fixed (well other than the floor blurring). Support this and maybe we'll get a sequel soon :D.

Megaman X7

You should see some of the pics of Megaman. He looks outright awful. At least Zero turned out well.
