The Silmarillion is interesting because of all the backstory and history it provides. It was pieced together from J.R.R. Tolkien's notes by Christopher Tolkien (I think that's his son), and as such there are discontinuties in it... It probably reads more like a history book than was planned because of this. It's by no means bad, but I don't recommend reading it unless the other books involving Middle Earth are still fresh in your mind.

In opinion my age does matter, depending on the difference. I've gone out with girls a couple years younger than me, and one a few years older than me. A few months back I there was a girl that was about 5 years younger than me who wanted to go out. While I think if we were closer in age I'd go out with her... The age difference was too much. People seperated by that many years (especially people in our age group, maybe if we were both in our later 20s I wouldn't care), are at totally different points in their lives... and while she might have been very mature (and she was, all things considered), there were some things that just would not have worked. I suppose a lot of it depends on the personalities and maturity levels of those involved. But honestly... What is the first thing you'd think when you see an older person with a substantially younger person? I'd bet it isn't something good.

I heard Manson was guest starring on a recent episode... I'm not sure who he plays or what, but maybe one of you knows? I honestly don't watch MTV at all, but this sounds kind of cool heh. MTV is already getting into a lot of heat over that whole Gandhi thing. I don't know what they plan on doing about it though, if anything.

I found out about this from Ginny a while back. I've only gone once, but it was kind of... interesting I guess lol. I'm more into the totally insane flash stuff like Yatta!, We Drink Ritalin and of course the best ever: Kikkoman

The administrator is James. He should be easy enough to find if you feel you actually have a legitimate enough complaint... although Meier apparently feels that James is also incredibly mean, I think you'll find that's not the case. Without getting into all of this, people here are trying to do their jobs... jobs that are basically thankless. We do something right and no one cares, we mess up and it's the end of the world. Just as you members mess up, perhaps mods do as well... It's not beyond anyone to do that. Don't post weird stuff that's offtopic or basically useless and you won't have any problems. -
Lost Prophet's is Barroom Hero by Dropkick Murphys. A girl I used to go out with liked them, but I'm not a big fan... So I don't know the CD. Jesus Chicken's song is by Pacifier, and the song is called Everything. I believe the CD is called Pacifier as well, but it's not out in the US til the 11th of this month. Triforce Rules - Particle Man, by They Might Be Giants. I have no idea if they originally did the song, or what CD it's off of honestly. Raquel - That's Empty Jar by Coal Chamber. The CD was Dark Days. Good song, although I kind of found the CD disappointing overall. (I'm also confused to whether or not you are spelling Mudvayne the wrong way on purpose heh). And as for your's, Harlequin, I knew that one right away. It's The Tea Party. The song is A Certain Slant of Light, off of Splendor Solis. No one has yet to answer mine from earlier... It should be ridiculously easy heh.

It's really no different than what Sony is doing. Big companies as well as some smaller companies are putting online games onto PS2 with no problems really. Whether or not it will cost money to play each game is another story... For the most part everything I've seen on PS2 is free unless it's some sort of RPG. Sega is charing $8.99 a month over the Xbox Live fee for PSO... so I guess even that isn't protected from extra fees. Capcom, Sega and Square all have their own online games up and running... In some cases for years now (at least in Japan, especially in Capcom's case). I don't see why they would have any problem dealing with online gaming on GC in these terms, as they all have online PS2 games coming up eventually. Like I said before, it's basically the same thing. I honestly wouldn't be too worried about smaller companies doing it either. So yeah they can... Who's to say they will or not though. Nintendo is providing online information so that companies that want to can get online. It doesn't mean they'll bother, which is the main problem I'd say.

I've not gotten to see this in motion yet, but people tell me it's rather slow paced. Apparently there is another set of faster cars than IGN hasn't unlocked yet, so maybe it's not that much of a problem. I've been told the racing is simliar to Extreme G, in that there aren't tons of other racers ontrack and you pass another every so often. It looks pretty good though, and since NEC is apparently back in business here... Maybe we can get some Bonk titles :). They really need to change that name though... It sounds really perverted :D.

My first job was at Affy Tapple. I don't know how big they are anywhere else, but they are basically the biggest and most famous caramel apple maker in this area. The whole place was basically a factory. There was an entrance for people to come in off the street and buy stuff, and right there was a counter. So I had to take people's orders (sometimes just one apple, sometimes 70 boxes), ring them up and give them to them. I mostly hated it because people were never thankful for anything you did. I didn't have to load 40 boxes into someone's car, but I did... and I recall getting help from the people maybe 5% of the time. It didn't help that this held everything else up, since I was the only worker at the counter. It wasn't a bad job. I think I made about $8 an hour, which was enough when I was 16. Then I worked at Target, which turned out to be the worst job ever... But that's another story.
Miyamoto Reconfirms 128 Marios An unexpected source, Japan's Playboy magazine, reveals (amoung other things) a Miyamoto interview. Shiggy confirmed that "'Pikmin 2' and the 'Mario 128' game that was shown at the [GameCube] unveiling are both in development." Elaborating on Mario 128 (revealed as 128 Marios at Spaceworld 2000), Miyamoto states, "I believe that with this game you'll be able to feel the "newness" that was missing from Mario Sunshine." We'll have a preview of this game during Mario Guide's 12 Days of Christmas, which starts Saturday, and continues until Christmas Day. Posted on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 by Net-tech
This is what I was referring to before. Miyamoto apparently specifically called it that, but it could be lost in translation. I assume this had to go from Japanese to French to English, so who knows heh. So really, this confirms another Mario game, which I guess is being called Mario 128 in some form (whether by Miyamoto or whoever did the interview). It doesn't seem clear to me whether or not he is referring to a whole new Mario game (aka 64 to 128), or something to do with the old tech demo (which spawned the 100 Marios idea). The interview seems very insistant that he is speaking of the game based on the tech demo though. Who knows. E3 should show something I hope.

I don't know the official word, but the way things are... It doesn't seem very likely. If you have a DVD player, you can get the DVDs for only $10 to $15 each. They have something like 6 episodes each on them.

Apparently this thing is a lot more powerful than the initial announcements and rumors led me to believe. They've been talking a lot more about it lately, and apparently it's quite a bit stronger than a GBA. Sega, Namco and Konami are apparently all on board to make games for the thing... and are targetting to make games above GBA graphical quality. Apparently the phone can do 3D quite well, using Open GL or something. The thing costs between 600 to 800 Euros, and while I really have no idea how much that is... It kind of sounds like a lot, especially since that's supposedly more than most color and web enabled phones over there in the first place. I'm not sure on the pricing system for games as of yet. Still the prices kind of make it target other game enabled cell phones moreso than the GBA.

The latest Gamepro is wrong. That's originally what the demo was, it was to show off the power of the GC and how much it could do at once. GC isn't even technically a 128 bit system as it is. Anyway, Miyamoto confirmed that it was still in development as a game a few weeks ago, along with a few other titles. He's also brought the ideas it used up in interviews in the past. Gamepro is just assuming I guess.

I like it... But not as much as the Megaman games before it. It looks great and plays great overall, but the whole leveling up idea behind the weapsons is a pain in the ***. It sounds like a good idea, but I found it more annoying than anything. I would run around killing stuff for god knows how long so I could actually defeat the next boss... I found the game overly difficult because of this. I just want to run out there and kill the guys, not worry about whether my Z-Saber (or whatever it's called) is a level too low to be of much use... That and the limited continues really pissed me off. I'm looking forward to Megaman and Bass far more.

I'd so close this if I could. This is a freaking ZELDA FORUM. What sort of question is this? Yes, we all hate Link, but we make tons of posts about him and his games and speak about how cool he may be or looks in certain games. I hold myself back from saying things in so many other threads. I keep it to myself that I think all these "favorite game/character" threads are totally stupid and that sometimes it seems threads on actual games go nowhere, other than the same few series over and over... but damn, at least they require thought. You just posted something as useless as this in the Xbox forum too. Just stop please, until you have something of interest. Sorry to come off as a jerk, as I'm really not (I think heh)... but sometimes I really worry about the state some of the gaming forums are headed in (although the series forums are nearly always an exception, I'm just going to bunch in "Zelda" with "Gaming" for this argument). I do realize you're a newbie, and as such are entitled to screwups, which is all fine and good. But please, please, please post something of interest in the the game centered forums. You seem to post decently in the Gundam area, just bring that over here. However, this was more of a rant for OB and actually any gaming boards I go to... rather than something simply targeted at you. I'm done. There, closed it. - Desbreko

My reasons for liking anime are not anything like my reasons for liking American cartoons personally, but then again I tend to not watch the series and such that are talked about in these forums. I mostly like anime films (sometimes OVAs or short series, but mostly films). The reason for this is mostly because the Japanese don't treat animation as some lesser art form compared to live action cinema. There are movies that could be done easily in live action in a way, such as Grave of the Fireflies... but I think the animation allows them to be a little more free with expressing their ideas, whether it's with something complex or certain colors or even something that simply couldn't be done in real life without an insane amount of cheesy special effects. So basically, my point is that because the Japanese almost treat film animation the same way the US and others treat live action films, it comes off as something more memorable, interesting, exciting and meaningful than most of the standard cartoons or movies people are used to here. Sure there are the stupid anime shows and comdedies and whatever else, but that's how every form of entertainment is. I have no idea if that made any sense, but it kind of shows some of my feelings about it lol. I must admit that I hate this generalizing that American made cartoons are always something stupid or goofy or whatever else. There is just as much anime like that, and I'm rather tired of the elitist thoughts many "fans" of anime seem to have on anything different.
Originally posted by Dragon Warrior Yes. Like I said before, I did download the online version thingy. It's called Apprentice, but I can't find anyone with it. But Lalaith Ril, here, is helpin' me learn so it's all good.
Apprentice? I'm just talking about Magic the Trading Card Game... the computer game heh. I bought it for $10 years back. It's exactly the same as playing anyone, but you can only play the computer. I think being able to play the computer, which knows the rules obviously, would be helpful heh. I'm not familiar with Apprentice honestly. It sounds like it might be the online version of MtG, but I thought that was pay for. Anyway, yeah having someone else teach you is far better.

Reminds me of that girl that's strangely abused by her mother in The Sixth Sense. Something tells me that this isn't even remotely the worst fraud ever though heh. People are far worse than this.

Hmm. IGN is late on the info yet again heh. There is a guy at Gaming-Age that told us about most of this a couple months ago from some Japanese magazine or site. Even so, I'm glad they seem to be putting effort into talking about this game at IGN, no one else seems to be bothering. Earthbound was called an alternative RPG really because it's subject matter was nothing like RPGs at the time, but it still had standard RPG gameplay... That was more of a Nintendo of America buzzword than anything, although I can't even think of another RPG like Earthbound story and theme wise, come to think of it. I'm under the impression this is being called an alternative RPG mostly because it's played totally different from most. Something like Harvest Moon crossed with Animal Crossing from the sounds of it. Who knows yet. Anyway, the guy at Gaming-Age that gave the info is surprisingly excited about this game (he's from Japan)... And from his past writings I'd say I generally agree with his views. So obviously, I'm more excited about this now than I was in the past... Although the video PGC had of it always looked pretty cool heh. I do hope it comes here, and while NoA is at it... They should bring Magical Vacation for GBA too!

I wouldn't get a friend to ask. You have to deal with stuff on your own, and this is no exception. I hug people I'm friends with, but then again it's usually very clear that there are no other feelings involved. I'd say what some others said, and tell him it makes you uncomfortable and that he should stop it (and possibly see what other motives he has, if you even care - I wouldn't bother with that personally). I'd hope he'd realize at that point, but you never know. Many, many guys are very, very stupid heh. I must admit, if I were you... He'd probably start creeping me out after awhile heh.

The lip synching was so hit and miss. I can't expect it to be perfect, but sometimes it's not even close. It's as if the sound has a second delay at times. I do agree about Yuna. The most annoying thing is when she says "Yes." She says it so quickly, and then pauses. Even more annoying is the fact that they use that same exact recording of "yes" for almost every single damn time she says it.......BLAH. You do have to take into account that FFX was localized extremely fast, and came out earlier than was first announced. I'm sure if they spent more time on it they could fix the voices up. Anyway, here is a promotional movie for the game. It's in WMV format. [strike]http://www.videogamerx.net/game_movie/01/31/FFX2/ffx2.wmv[/strike] I don't think the music could be any more lame though. The price is interesting, as it's something like $70 bucks. I've been told that most RPGs, especially those from Square, are sold for more money because of the development costs. PEople obviously buy them anyway heh. Edit - Looks like they removed the link hehe. I have it if anyone really wants to see. It shows an entire scene from the game, along with nice Japanese voiceovers.

When I die I want to be dead, and that will be the end of it. No coming back as this or that. No being a ghost. Just dead. Reincarnation is something I never think about either way. I don't really think about death either. If I die, I die. I can't do anything about it, and I'm not going to dwell on the thought.
Bart: "If it helps, I believe that after you die, you come back as whatever you want. I'll be a butterfly." Lisa: "How come?" Bart: "Because, nobody ever suspects the butterfly."
I'm going to close this as I don't see where it could go. If you want to start an actual Sonic Advance 2 thread, feel free to... Just post something that could lead to some actual discussion. As it stands, Cream is just a new character. She seems to have no real story behind her or her addition to the game. I guess Sonic Team just wanted something new. In the game, Cream throws Cheese at enemies to hurt them. There really isn't much more to say beyond that heh.

You could try downloading the demo of the computer game. There is also an online version, but you should look for the single player demo from a few years ago. Someone should have it still. I recommend that because it forces you to play by the rules, and having someone to play against allows you to learn far more quickly... Even those this is a computer heh. Otherwise, find someone that knows how to play, that's the best way to learn it. I've personally barely even read the books because of that.

The other one is a guy....:whoops: I never said it was a girl, just said it looked like Terra Semji :whoops: - Tasis Fair enough. Let's just say I don't like it because I'm tired of all of Square's CD modeled US covers... heh. - Semji!
