1. It's always funny what gets a good amount of posts at OB lol. Anyway, it's obviously something then. Hopefully he can save it as something else and we won't keep trying to figure out what it is.... Although I guess that's kind of fun in a strange way.
2. I plan on getting one eventually. The trick is not to pick something stupid that is some passing thing. Like Foredaddy said, no girlfriends or whatever. I'd never put a girl's name on me anyway, you never know what may happen in the future. There are smaller designs and more abstract things I would be more interested in. There are also characters and such that I've liked most of my life and can never see me disliking. I'd get one of those as well... just nothing gigantic or up and down my body so that I could never cover them up if I needed to.
3. Yeah, like Ginny said. The canvas is blank. Either you did nothing or you have no idea how to save lol.
4. No, like I said several posts up. There is no fighting at all. The game is divided up into days, which are each divided up into segments. During those segments you can try to make friends with other girls (by giving them presents), do weird poses, buy gifts, play minigames (of which there are like 2), go to the casino or play volleyball. The casino itself isn't very interesting. It's simply a bunch of flat graphics. You might as well play Windows Blackjack on your computer.
5. That's not exactly the other reasons I had in mind heh. I don't know how this can keep anyone happy until a new DOA fighter is released, unless they only play DOA to see boobs bounce around... But that wouldn't surprised me either lol.
6. AFI have also given Kerrang.com the go ahead to stream another song off the CD, entitled 'This Celuloid Dream.' Here's the links for those interested. 7. Well the only other regular FF to use job classes was FF5. You could learn aspects of one class and switch to another. It was never quite as in depth as in DW7 though (which has used the job system on and off since DW3). I'm not sure about the specifics on this one.
8. I've been lead to believe by people in the loop that this CD on a whole is heavier than some of their past stuff, but a lot more polished (don't ask me if this is actually true though). I guess the polish comes along with them signing to a bigger label, who really knows. I'm still worried that there are going to be one or two songs that are going to be different from AFI's norm to appeal to different groups. I've seen this happen before (Deadsy comes to mind near instantly, but they are a totally different genre). Still I have high expectations, and I think Davey (and the rest of the band) know they are about two steps away from being something huge. As for the song... Seemed to be obviously Davey to me about 6 seconds in, but at first he kind of sounded like... A girl? He usually has higher octaves, but it's never really that soft and subdued, even in songs simliar to this heh. Still, it picked up back to what I basically expected from him. I quite like it, but I wouldn't put it up with my favorite AFI songs. Still, it's great hearing something new and makes me far more at ease about Sing the Sorrow. I really wish this was an MP3 or OGG though lol. [strike]I've been told the release date is now March 18th... Has that changed again?[/strike] Edit: www.afireinside.net says the 11th, so I'll just go with it :D.
9. It's average at best. The story is nothing special, but at least the characters are rather charismatic. The main selling point on it seems to be the amount of topless girls it can show in a short period. Not something that really interested me.
10. It was rated M for "nudity" and sexual situations apparently. Nudity, not being full... but some of the stuff the girls wear is extremely skimpy (the Venus swimsuit in particular), so I guess the ESRB felt it warrented that. Sexual situations I'd assume involve all their running around and rubbing lotion on eachother and feeding eachother candy and any other rather odd thing they can do. Even so, I think Teen would have sufficed. If you're actually interested in volleyball, get Beach Spikers on GC or look for some old SNES/NES game of it. The volleyball in this game is simple and halfassed, and it only allows two players (BS allows 4 at least). If you are interested in this for other reasons, well then whatever lol.
11. FFX-2 marks the return of the job system. I forget all the details, but you can see that in some of these screens. Yuna and Rikku have obviously different clothes based on which job class they are. It's a French site.
12. Yeah, and even when I posted it no one seemed quite as interested as I hoped heh. All I'm hoping for are decent load times... Otherwise I'm not going to bother. That ruined the other PSX ports in my opinion.
13. Strange. Game looks pretty much the same to me, although from what I'm told it has less of a jaggy and shimmering problem (these really hurt the original). I don't know how this looks worse, other than the shots being noticably low quality... But most Gamespot shots look this bad if they aren't from the company themselves. VF never was a big seller until VF4, I don't know that that will have much impact on its sales. I plan on buying it though, if it does look better like I'm told. And as for VF Quest, no one knows much of anything about it. It could be like Shenmue, it could be a simple RPG or it could be a fighter with a heavy story mode. Who knows yet.
14. I remember back when Ubi Soft was making Rayman for GBA... They had to completely change the color palette because Nintendo changed the settings or something in the development kits. Games like Castlevania: Circle of the Moon were already too far along to be changed apparently and as such are incredibly dark. If you play a GBC game with dark colors, you can also see that the GBA wasn't really taking such palletes into consideration. Try playing Dragon Warrior 3 when it's night time in the game. You cannot see anything. Anyway, like James said... Developers are working on this, and I've not had problems with any newer GBA games being tough to see. The GBA SP should fix this problem even moreso. Future games (only FFTactics Advance so far) are incorporating different modes that will change the brightness of the game depending if you're playing on the GBA, GBA SP (resulting in less washed out graphics than normal GBA settings if you leave the light on) and Gameboy Player. As for the cords... 3rd parties sell multi pack cords with connections for both GBC and GBA. I'd watch out for one of those. The infrared was taken out since it was used in maybe 4 games, was extremely slow and only worked if the GBCs were like right against eachother. I'd have to say link cables are worth the 10 extra dollars.
15. Like I said before, if you really read into it... It's a color screened phone orientated like a controller to make it easier to play. It's nothing new, they are just trying to target the games market with their phones rather than the casual market. It's nothing I'd get scared over. Hell, even PDAs have been doing this stuff. Sony Clie is a good example, and I've seen Pocket PCs that run Tomb Raider better than PSX could. GBA isn't going anywhere though. It has huge market penetration and much cheaper prices on a whole.
16. The more expensive fish only appear during certain months and in certain places. There is one exception that I know of, the coelcanth which I believe appears all year 'round... But, only when it's raining. In terms of items... The highest selling are probably the two you mentioned. The only other items that I've found that come close are holiday furniture, such as Jingle Furniture (at 12,250 Bells) or the Halloween Furniture (10,3100 bells). Arwings sell for nearly 27,000 Bell at Tom's Store. I have no idea what he buys them back for though, but I'd guess it'd have to be a decent price. I'd assume you already know this, but for those who don't and don't mind (sort of) cheating... The universal codes site is http://acblink.cjb.net
17. I'm sure this thread will not get too many responses. This is a band I hear about nearly everyday though, and I'm sure at least some of you know or have heard the music already. If you watch a lot of MTV/MTV, I'm sure you've seen them though. Zwan was formed by Billy Corgan (of The Smashing Pumpkins) in 2000. He was joined by Matt Sweeney (on guitar), David Pajo (also on guitar), Jimmy Chamberlin (on drums) and Paz Lenchantin (on bass). Some of these names shoud be very familiar, especially to fans as Chamberlin was the original Pumpkins drummer, and Paz is the bassist for A Perfect Circle. Corgan himself plays guitar and does the vocals, although others do sing at points. If you know how The Smashing Pumpkins sound, then you basically know how this sounds... But where that was Corgan's band (which was a guitar band, even if the focus of a song was the bass or piano the guitar got the most play and started the song off), this is more of a team effort and things are much more mixed up. The first single is called Honestly, which is a rather good song (I prefer some of the others personally). People can also vote for them on TRL at this point. There is a tour of sorts going, but the next few days are at Chicago's Metro only... With the following ones being in other countries. Might be a while til you can see them if you're interested. So yeah, the CD is called "Mary Star of the Sea" and it comes out January 28th. There will be two versions, one with a bonus DVD (like it seems every band does now, but I'd guess it's limited to 100,000 copies like usual). Here is an MP3 of Honestly, for those interested: http://www.billy-corgan.net/MPEG/zwan-honestly-single.mp3 (Right click and Save As... That's why it didn't work for Shinobi). I think Lyric is a much better song, and I'm sure you could find it online if you look... heh. Edit: The below pic if of the band members, not hosting for the album cover.
18. Edit-- Okayyyyyyyyy.... I guess I'll play along with a topic simliar to the last 20 favorite character in a video game threads. I guess I'll go with Xianghua in SC. I honestly don't think about this sort of thing much, as they are game characters... not people.
19. I agree with Wristcutter basically. With someone your age, this isn't something I'd get concerned about. You might as well be moving to Mars, because most likely you'll never be talking to him again. I don't see a reason to set yourself up for unnecessary problems. Let's say he does like you. Then what? You're leaving the next day, and nothing will come out of it, which of course sucks. Let's say he doesn't like you? Well then you have that on your mind, which probably would suck even more... You'd probably never even know his reasons either. However, not really doing anything at all kind of avoids both of these problems. So... I would just say bye to him like you would all your other friends. He had a long time to act on this, and really you two shouldn't have waited til the last day you're in the country to decide to do something. Start new in another country. I know I sure as hell would love to.
20. I read this on another forum...
Howard Stern had the American Idol judges on his show this morning. He told them that he was gonna have some people audition for them and let them judge them to see if they could be on the show or get a record contract. So he has a girl come out and sing for them and of course Simon tells her that she sucks and Paula Abdul is like she's good and whatever, but they dismiss her. Then Howard has a guy come out and he tells the judges that he's never auditioned before for American Idol and he's gonna sing the Spiderman Movie theme song "Hero." So the guy sings for them and the judges are telling him why he sucks and he doesn't have the star quality or stage presence. Howard then says this is their worst nightmare and reveals that it's actually the guy who wrote and actually performs the song, from the band Saliva I think. The lead singer is of course insulted so he starts rattling off to them that he's up for like 3 Grammy nominations for the song, etc., etc. Meanwhile Simon and the other judges are trying to back track. It was pretty funny, I don't know how these experts could be so stupid that they didn't even recognize the guy. Apparently someone who creates one of the biggest hit songs of the year doesn't have enough talent to be a star, but that Sideshow Bob looking guy that almost won last year does.
Oh well. I can't stand the judges as it is. I hate how the camera cuts to them like dancing when they love someone. Who even cares about Paula Abdul anymore anyway? Bleh.
21. I thought someone here might know this... What even happened to the girl that won the last American Idol? I thought she put out some single, and they made it sound like they were going to do all this stuff to make sure she got out into the public... And I've heard nothing about it since. Although I suppose it really hasn't been that long heh. Just seems weird to start another one, when the last winner hasn't even really done anything yet.
22. You posted it in the wrong place. It's not locked at all, it's in one of the game forums. The Sony one actually.
23. I saw this finally at Suncoast... Then again at Blockbuster. I almost picked it up. The price is excellent... $5 for something that size is so rare lately. I grabbed one of the subscription cards instead of buying it though. I'm not so sure if it's something I'll be interested in. I'm not into things such as Yu-Gi-Oh and the other more popular ones there are anime of now. Sand Land did strike my interest though... So who knows.
24. The gay porno star rumor is stupid, and most likely just started by idiots online that don't like the show. The guy's a construction worker or something like that. And damn Hayate... Use some periods or something lol.
25. Ravenstorture (and others who've contacted me about this)... The general warning was more towards the type of people here who like to put themselves down for attention and getting their names mentioned. I'm not wanting people to avoid emotions or anything, assuming they are honest. As such, I think what you wrote fits this well and is not something I'd be frowning upon. It was more or less just to "scare" people into writing something good without the self-bashing stuff that seemed to get added in in threads similiar to this one. Thanks for the good responses everyone :D.
