1. EGM is probably the best of the magazines out right now. GMR just came out, but so far it sounds rather lame in my opinion. I just got a free yearlong subscription to EGM today actually :D.
2. Sounds to me that you're jumping into this way too fast. The details of it are kind of vague... But it seems as if all this (even your first asking her out) happened in a matter of days. How could you love her already? I dunno, doesn't seem like something I'd get all worked up about. I'd try to find out what her exact problem is... But if she doesn't have one, I'd just let it go.

Renaming?

I know that... But obviously his real name is Nanaki, since Cosmo Canyon is his home more or less lol. I'd prefer to call him that and not some experiment number or whatever it is Red XIII is from (I forget).

Renaming?
Originally posted by Break Yeah, I found that it kinda pulled me out of the story too. But, my brothers have named a few on FFVII: Cloud- SOLDIR Red XIII- NANAKI Aeris- Erisboneris Tifa- GIRL (something like that)
I'm pretty sure Red XIII's name is Nanaki anyway. The only other character I've changed is Frog in Chrono Trigger to Glenn, which was his name in the past. I also change the names in the older FF's to proper case. The only thing that's annoying is the NPCs because they'll have names like KING (or whatever) and all my guys are like Locke, Relm and so on. That has annoyed me for years heh.
5. I think I'm the only one who preferred the other color scheme. Not that this is bad at all... It's just something to get used to.
6. They are still finding unreleased Beatles songs even. They actually just found a whole bunch of tapes this past week that everyone assumed were gone. Just because they keep finding all these things he put out doesn't mean he is alive. For all most people know, he has boxes full of half done songs and demos... And the record people are just mixing them for a good release. Makes the most sense to me.

Ffxi?

Well the rumor is because of one thing. I think I posted it before. One of the higher ups at Square basically said that they aren't planning on having the game continue past 2004. Now, I guess this could mean a few things... Could mean they'd completely take down the servers, could mean they'd just not update things anymore... Who knows. As long as enough people are paying, it's in their best interest to keep it going. I severely doubt the guy's comment was even considering countries outside of Japan though. It could have just been a shortsided thing he said, especially considering that I don't think the game even broke even money wise when he said it. It's actually pulling in money for them now, so he might have a different opinion.

Renaming?

In FF games, I generally keep the original names. Changing them kind of pulls me out of the story for some reason. I only do this in games where the main character speaks a lot though. After beating them a few times, I sometimes pop in whatever names I feel like though. In games where the main character doesn't speak at all, and others speak to him... I generally name him after myself. I tend to pay more attention if I see my name in the game haha.
9. Planet Gamecube is the final form of another website (OPN2k I think, that or they kind of just merged into a final site). They are not part of Gamespy, despite the name. Gamespy apparently tried to either acquire them, or simply the domain, but I guess PGC wasn't happy with the deal. Right now, Gamespy has it's own Nintendo section. It's simply called Planet Nintendo.
10. I thought that banner would be the worst thing I ever saw... but it actually kicks *** haha. Anyway... The fourth additional character is Necrid. He is that green guy in a couple of the shots. He was also designed by McFarlane apparently. Can't say I'm impressed with him. He'll be in all three versions though.
11. I had to mix these up a bit... Otherwise I'd be voting for the same few people over and over again. 'Twas hard to choose. 12. Well who knows if this will stay up. I'd say a good portion are Zelda, but that's because a lot of Zelda ones were submitted. The only ones up for use are ones people here made.
13. There is no current Xbox 2 design. If you've seen anything, they are mockups and are most definately not by anyone involved in the project. There are already crappy PS3 mockups running about. Every company starts plans for their next system soon after their current one is released, sometimes even before. This isn't a new thing, it's just that companies like Sony and especially Microsoft are a hell of a lot more vocal about it. Nintendo has already mentioned it's next console as well. Microsoft plans to release Xbox 2 around the same time as PS3. They've said that a few times. The target year for both is sometime in 2005. Nintendo plans on releasing their's within 10 months after that. I'm hoping a bit closer, so they don't have to deal with two huge leads compared to one this generation.
14. I generally pop around various Japanese sites attempting to use Altavista to translate things. Generally all I wind up with are a bunch of random pictures, but it's enjoyable. Otherwise, just Gaming-Age. IGN every so often if they have some great movie, or they bother to update their Q&A section. Everything I don't find out about, someone winds up telling me about on AIM anyway (mostly James if anyone heh).
15.
Originally posted by MathGuy2 Semjaza Azazel: ... James ... that stupid ... (It's amazing how easy it is to take quotes out of context especially when you use ellipses. Semjaza Azazel said/implied nothing like this. )
This has amused me greatly :D.
16. All you really have to know is that it's very good. I'd watch it if I were you.
17. Eh, everyone gets in their cheap shots sometime or another. I go through downtown Chicago everyday to get to school. Rude people seem to thrive down there. People bloking their smoke from the cigarettes all over the place, walking down the street and ashing so high up that the wind blows it into your face... Then there are the people who refuse to even budge an inch when you're walking towards them on a crowded sidewalk. A lot of the sidewalks are even more narrow, because downtown there are always these stupid cheap tunnels built overhead (to block ice and construction, but they like NEVER take them down). It's either walk into a pipe or walk into someone. It's gotten to the point that if a person shows no sign of moving over (and even then I'm generous about room). I just walk into them. I'm tired of practically turning myself sideways while the other person has all the room in the world. Oh well. This is most common with businessmen downtown who walk in groups and take up the whole walkway. Then there is the el and bus... And restaurants and stores (which are horribly cramped down there in most cases). Anyway, I might act like this is still a huge deal to me... At one point it was. I probably bitched about it to someone every few days. At this point, I'm basically just so used to it that it seems expected.
18. I can't say I'm addicted to much of anything. I like many things, some much more than others. I can't say there is one thing I'm so interested in and passionate about that I must always do it (or watch it, whatever). Kind of sad in a way heh.

T3

Judging from the previews and shots I've been seeing over the past few months... That definately isn't Eddie Furlong as John anymore. Like Hybrid said, it's Nick Stahl. I was kind of looking forward to it... But the previews kind of lessened my hype. They seemed too cheesy. Who knows though.
20.
Originally posted by DKsAngel *sniff* you got to meet ken? I didn't even know you lived here til just now either heh.
21. I don't know that anything in Bloodlust is based on FF7 character designs... But Amano, I believe, first became famous for his illustrations in the Vampire Hunter D novels in Japan. He also did the designs for most of the FF games, among others. I'd say they are just related in his style, not that they are directly based of one another. He's possibly my favorite artist though.
22. Flaming Lips are rock. I think a lot of people expect them to be hardcore or something based on the name. I certainly did before I got into them. It's just light, experimental rock for the most part. Nothing more. I thought that was kind of clear in the thread heh. I don't like Blink 182 because of some stupid righteous sell-out punk reason. I never liked them, and I doubt I ever will. The music annoys me, and the vocals are awful. I mostly ignore them because it annoys be that they got so far, while other, far better punk/whatever bands fall to the side. That's about all I have to say. I used to be into metal, I've gotten more into punk/ska/hardcore/etc (I don't tend to spend time differentiating between anything but punk and ska). I've seen this happen to a lot of people though. Metalheads turning into punk. I can't really think of the opposite happening to anyone offhand though heh. Any random bands I personally recommend are in my my sig. Ska wise... I am mostly into Voodoo Glow Skulls. They aren't as popular as I assumed they would be, so if you don't know them, check them out.
23. I posted something about this when it was first announced, which seemed to be largely ignored here lol. It fell to the second page. Anyway, this is probably my most anticipated of the 5 Capcom games shown at that event. I'm not sure what sort of game it will turn out to be, but I love the style and it's obviously incredibly violent... Moreso than I could have ever expected. I do hope it's nothing like Max Payne though.
24. I've only done it once. The dean of our highschool organized it, and about 30 of us went on a Saturday to a place that does that stuff. We had to rent their guns (you could bring your own, but they would lower the shot velocity), and of course buy their paint balls... I think I wound up buying nearly $100 of paint balls over the entire day. It was some of the most fun I've had. There was this one section at the place that kind of resembled a village. We played about two games there, and each time would start on one side trying to capture the other's flag. Somehow this kid I knew (who I liked on and off, he was a prick heh) thought no one could see him behind this little wall. I emptied my entire carton of paintballs onto him, and in the meantime he was screaming something like "Where the hell is this coming from!?!?" I must say it was a great thing heh :). The place had smokebombs that covered huge areas, as well as paint grenades... I don't remember many getting used though. I've not done it since, but my step-dad is somewhat into that stuff. He has quite a few really expensive guns packed away in our basement.
25. It's currently not out anywhere. MS has shown it to some people in the industry and whatever else though. It supposedly is really damn good. Penny Arcade is supposed to have impressions up sometime.
