Some new shots from NCL. The director of the game said that the game had improved visually over the video last shown (not the video on the Nintendo promo DVD, the newer stuff). Judging from these, it seems true. They are incredibly small, but the landscapes look great I think.

I don't see how dulling yourself to the ills of society is a good thing. Children get neglected all the time, it doesn't exactly make it any easier for them to get over it... Regardless of how surprising anyone thinks it is.

Heh. The song is March of the Pigs, which is on The Downward Spiral (Halo Eight) by Nine Inch Nails. It was released in 1994. The song I posted is Where Fools Go, by 12 Rounds. They are one of the few bands signed to Trent's nothing records. A rather underrated group in my opinion... I believe something new is coming out soon. Let's try this again... You give me the reason You give me control I gave you my purity My rurity you stole Did you think I wouldn't recognize This compromise Am I just too stupid to realize Stale incense, old sweat And lies, lies, lies Same deal as before.

Ghost in the Shell cannot end as the manga doesn't end. They both finish off in a simliar, although strangely different, way. Stand Alone Complex, the sequel to the original GitS anime is in production now. Dark Horse has finally gotten translations of the new manga in stores now as well. They are sold in comic form for about $3.99 or so. I recommend checking them out. Blood... I don't know. I figure just to let people's minds run wherever or to leave room open for a sequel. I thought the entire thing was rather disappointing though.

School is my only routine, and I don't even go to that sometimes. Everything else, including meals, homework and sleep is totally random. Sometimes I don't sleep at all, sometimes I go to bed at 10. Just depends on how I'm feeling that day.

Very little of what I enjoy is played on the radio. Even with bands I love (NIN and Manson get more radio play than most of them), I tend to get very tired of the singles as they are played more than I care to listen to them. It's also rather aggrivating that most of the better songs on CDs (at least in my opinion) never become singles. I've found the best solution is to simply not listen to the radio at all. The only thing I've listened to on the radio in the past few years is classic rock.
Originally posted by Syk3 One thing I never saw coming was Tony working for theOtaku. That alone blew me away, lol. No offense was ment. ;)
I don't know that many here even realize that I am Tony. No matter though. Things lifewise have been rough here, so I'm hoping to get more of my own reviews up rather soon. Sometimes I'm under the impression that most people here think I don't like anime heh. Edit: I'm about to die. I had an entire stream of conciousness review of Grave of the Fireflies almost complete (we're talking probably two pages), and I messed it up. The entire thing is lost. I hope I can get the motivation back to write it over. Edit pt. 2: Okay, it's up. Not sure if it's as good as the original, but it was hard to remember what I said originally heh. 3 hours altogther now... took less time to watch the thing.

When I was younger, bands like Slipknot were the types of things I most listened to. Now, I really don't care for them and wonder what I saw in most of it in the first place. That's another story. I got into Slipknot because of their selftitled CD. I thought pretty much everything on it was a good track, and even though I'm not really fond of the CD now... You could tell there was a good deal of talent involved. Because of this, I sought out their first release: Mate Feed Kill Repeat. There weren't many copies made, and originals go for quite a bit of money. Of course, we're online... so I found what I needed. I was surprised to listen to some of the tracks, which while they were still very Slipknot, they had a Mr. Bungle style to them. It kind of disappointed me that Slipknot went away from this, but it's understandable. Time passed, I got away from metal... Iowa came out. I still liked metal at this point, but Iowa was one of the worst metal albums I'd heard in a while. I'll admit a good deal of metal is simply "noise," but generally it still had a musical sense to it. Iowa just seemed noise for the sake of noise, screaming just to scream. It didn't work for me, and as of now I couldn't care less for the band. I still do like MFKR though, especially Do Nothing/Bitchslap.

I believe that's Dross, which is on Machina II (The Friends and Enemies of Modern Music) by the Smashing Pumpkins. I still remember when that was released online and a friend of mine had me download and burn the entire 2 CD line up... Took forever on 56k heh. This is one I'd assume no one here would know without using a search engine, as I've only met one other fan of the band in my life. Band and song title would be nice, bonus points for the album title :). I'll put the full song only because I think it's rather short. Singing sprightly living brightly God we do it oh so well Come and join the party with me Come and live in pleasant hell And how high they rise Where fools go I don't think so Sssssh And all was dull and dark that night I lost my wholesome appetite If only I could get it right And feel good this day of the night And how high they rise Where fools go I don't think so

Dave Grohl is the drummer for all the tracks last I checked. I'm glad someone finally started a thread on them... I thought about it last night, and here we are heh. No One Knows is an excellent song, and I think it's topped by quite a few others on the CD. I had skipped over the other QotSA releases in the past (Rated R), but for some reason I felt compelled to buy this anyway. I definately don't regret it at all, and am now a very big fan. I even changed my avatar for them heh (I couldn't ditch my other symbol, it makes me feel like Prince). I've not gotten to see them live. I honestly haven't been to a concert in a while. I'm still upset that I missed Bowie when he came here, although I think he toured with about 10 groups I cannot stand... so maybe I didn't miss much.

I went through this as well. It was more like... I see these people for hours every single day. By the time I get out of school, the last thing I want to do is hang out with them even more. There were some exceptions, but I needed something new to do. All I did was find quite a few good friends that I didn't see all the time and balanced my free time between the two. Worked well for me. You may have a different problem, but I'm willing to think that going out and doing things (even by yourself) would help a lot and get your mind off things.
Originally posted by Crazy White Boy I've always preferred games like Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter 3 though. The next Guilty Gear will also be out soon, and I know, who's going to be getting that, lol.
:D :D :D Coming soon! Anyway, MvC2 is an excellent game. It probably got the most play from me out of any of my DC fighters... Mostly because it is much easier to just jump into, which results in a lot of pretty good fights with friends (even if they are just average players). I've not played the PS2 version, but I hear it's a faithful conversion. Not too different from the DC version, although I hear there are some sound issues. I've not played it yet, so I can't say for sure.

According to Gamespot and other sites, the triggers are actually more comfortable and easy to use now. I never liked the GBA triggers as it was.

I personally find it rather digusting that something like marriage is so often thrown around as a trivial thing on FOX, but that's me. That's about all I have to say heh. Show itself wouldn't interest me.

The Japanese versions of most Capcom fighters since the DC days all let you play online via Capcom's Matching Service. It was always taken out when the game was brought over here. I only have the DC version, but there really is no story (a basic one, but that's it). If you go to GameFAQs people have somehow come up with all these lengthy histories for the Street Fighter games, when the material and the game itself say little about it. I'm not sure where they get it all from, but I'm sure it's the same case with this one.

I'll write more about this later, and edit the post... But I will say that the thing looks terribly uncomfortable.

Go to the store :p. They aren't very hard to find, especially Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. I think you saw the image up there, so just watch out for that cover. I got mine at Best Buy, and they had a few others to choose from as well.

The Flaming Lips aren't Japanese. A lot of the music doesn't even sound like anything I'd associate with the Japanese at all, other than some of the songs about robots and Yoshimi (which remind me more of anime than anything). I guess some of the sound has a strange game/anime tinge to it though. Offhand, I think there is one song with Japanese words in it. I haven't really paid attention to the last tracks on it yet though, so I'd have to double check. Edit- Well if there is any Japanese in any of them, I can't find it. I thought one had some Japanese being spoken in the background, but guess not heh. This is also just this one CD mind you. They have a few others.

My heart skipped when I saw this thread. Seriously :D. I love the Flaming Lips. I had just finally bought Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots at Best Buy the other day. The entire thing is simply excellent, my favorites being Fight Test, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots pt. 1, Are You a Hypnotist?? and In the Morning of the magicians. It's rock, just rather mellow. Someone told me they are simliar to the Steve Miller Band, whom I'm not familiar with. The Flaming Lips basically remind me of Radiohead, but not quite as experimental as their recent stuff. Some of it slightly reminds me of Tweaker (or even Telefon tel Aviv) as well, at least in terms of the electronic sound. They aren't that simliar to either of those bands, other than the laid back approach they take... But still, I am reminded of them. Glad to see there is another fan here :). There was a blizzard, or whatever you'd like to call it, here several years ago. My dad usually drove me to highschool, but sometimes he would drop me off several block away because he had to get to work. That day was one of those times. I had to walk about a mile to school in more than a foot of snow. When I finally got there, all the doors were locked. The school was closed. Luckily, one of my friends got there at about the same time and we took the bus home. I was happy there was no school to an extent, but still it was pretty damn annoying.

That sounds like the US remake. I've not personally seen any of the three in the series. There is also one called Ringu Zero (or something to that effect), which is like a prequel... Wasn't mentioned in here. Hollywood is also remaking another Japanese horror movie, which is called The Eye. It's supposedly quite good, and if you are interested, I'd pick it up soon before it eventually gets discontinued due to the US version. I think the only movie to really disturb me in my life would have to be Jin Roh. Most people think it's so boring... but the last 1/3 of it is excellent. That's another topic though hehe.

Anime AAKK!!! Hasn't ANYONE wanted to talk about VHD an' Bloodlust!?!?
Semjaza replied to Sarasan's topic in Otaku Central
There have been like three threads on it, they're all pretty old now though. I don't feel like typing all I think about it right now, but it's definately one of my favorite anime films (probably my second favorite actually). My favorite scene is still the opening, where the flowers decay and the fountains freeze at the presence of Meier. The ending was definately good as well, fulfilled my need to have a good closing. -
? Maybe I'm not understanding you (I'm taking it as if you might think that was an older video, hard to tell heh), but they were never actually The Sums. That was a new music video, and it's supposed to be poking fun at all the current "The" bands like The Hives, Strokes and Vines. If not, then I'll take it another way heh.

I play with my PS2 always vertical, and I seem to be the only one here that has never had a problem heh. Contrary to what Sony wants people to think (don't ever trust helplines 100%, they don't know everything and a lot of them will try to get you to send in your system if they can get money out of it. Recalibrating lenses is something that isn't hard to do, and Sony charges like $60 for it last I heard), you can use a CD/DVD cleaner. It does help according to people I know, although dusting with a can will help more overall. Sony used to say the same crap about PSX, and that was just a simple CD laser (not a combo one like PS2 uses). Excuse that long section of stuff in the perentheses lol.
