Anime Just picked up "VHD: Bloodlust"! ...and you won't believe where!
Semjaza replied to JCBaggee's topic in Otaku Central
No one has talked about the banning in like 3 weeks hehe :). I never bought anime at Walmart still, but I found the prices at Target to be pretty average. Nothing too bad. -
The girls volleyball season here ended weeks ago, at least in terms of school teams. Club volleyball teams here start in December and run through June. A good friend of mine plays quite often, and she's on an impact volleyball team right now.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel The Megaton image is a joke haha. IGN took these from Gaming Age, a guy from Tokyopia.com posted them... Megaton is basically a running joke at GA, and I'm surprised IGN didn't figure that out. I think the guy named himself that, not sure heh :).
My favorite ska band is still the Voodoo Glow Skulls. I've not met anyone else who knows who they are, but they have been on quite a few of the bigger punk comps already. They played in some town north of Chicago here... I forget who was that main act they were with, but it was kind of in the middle of nowhere and the crowd was too small to be any fun. Voodoo Glow Skulls were great though, and they had this guy dressed as some voodoo guy dancing around. Fun times. Delinquent Song comes to mind as worth downloading :).

They aren't exactly "free." You can't just walk up to the store and grab them. You have to actually go to the store and preorder the game. I'd bet some places will want you to pay the full $50 so you don't run off with the Zelda comp for nothing heh. Latest word is that it's definately coming here... Still a rumor of course.

PGC is now saying the game runs at a higher framerate... But Billy is the one claiming this, and he doesn't seem to be able to distingush between 30 and 60 FPS even (SMS comes to mind). So who knows just yet. Someone I trust has said otherwise though... Perhaps it runs at a solid 30 FPS now, and not a solid 60? Dunno yet :).

I don't generally pay attention to the little titles within each post in a thread... And you never know if some random person is going to post a spoiler in the thread either. I think it would just avoid some complications lol. Anyway, I'm done. Back to what Sara wants :).

To not spoil things? lol It happens a lot in the game forums, and I don't think pressing enter a few times helps. I've already had many games and movies ruined for me at other forums (not as many here) because someone doesn't bother to leave space, or doesn't think it's a big deal since they know. Apparently this idea is crazy, so nevermind lol.

It doesn't matter what color someone is normally using with the
tag, as it forces the color like I said. Why would they make a tag that could be so easily overridden by a basic option? The problem with white on whtie is that you won't even see it's there. The spoiler tag makes a big black box and is very obvious.

I give this thread the You Suck Award. Hopefully I will never have to give out this award again :D.

Character depth depends on the Enix game. Just like Square's -- it depends on the game. Star Ocean 2 would have benefitted from a better translation which messed up a lot of the story, but it still had good characters. I still think Valkyrie Profile has an incredibly good story (mostly based on the characters themselves) that actually makes it seem like you're making it as you go. The more I read about this, the less I think any of it's really going to matter. It sounds as if the companies are going to keep almost all of their development seperate like it currently is.

I'd do it if I had money heh. Seems like an interesting idea. Maybe if I can get the stuff off Kazaa I'll join in... :)

Oh this is another thing. it's kind of simliar.... At another vB board I go to, they have a
tag. It makes the text within the tags black font on black background, so you have to hghlight the text to read it. I think that would be a very good addition here.

From what I've seen there are totlaly different ending images for a complete 100% and different time amounts. I've seen the 100% ending on accident, but not the others... So I'm not positive.

The Megaton image is a joke haha. IGN took these from Gaming Age, a guy from Tokyopia.com posted them... Megaton is basically a running joke at GA, and I'm surprised IGN didn't figure that out. I think the guy named himself that, not sure heh :). The graphics are basically the same. I'm not clear on if the graphics run high res now or not, but some of the edges and textures are noticably smoothed out (especially Zelda and Gannon). The framerate is the same as the N64 versions, and there is a slight load time when you enter menus (blah). Still a nice free gift... We usually get some crappy t-shirt if anything here lol.

I was thinking about this the other day... I don't remember what the heck I wanted it for, but I still want it :).

It was most likely deleted because there are a few other topics on animal Crossing here that you could have posted it in. There doesn't really need to be one for every new thing someone finds. I realize this one is older, but you're probably better off posting random AC stuff in this thread http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14889 or even the one where you asked about the Wisp. And with that, I'm going to lock this because there's not much else to say.

I don't see why so many people suddenly care about this news. Enix fans seem rare around here (meaning most of the internet, not just OB) as it is. I already talked to some people about this, and I know my fears are unwarrented... This isn't something I'm exactly ecstatic about right now, regardless of the future outcomes. I figure it gives both of them more resousces which is always good... I'm also glad Enix owns the controlling share of the two companies, regardless of a Square employee being the President. Oh well.

Awesome! Lupin III! Looking forward to that. As for the rest... I honestly know FAR more people who watch Adult Swim for those bizarre comedies than the anime, so I can't really blame them one way or the other.

Gaming What is your top game in each of these categories:
Semjaza replied to severous84's topic in Noosphere
Gameplay: This is hard... Super Metroid or Metroid Prime come to mine. Story: Persona 2, my favorite PSX RPG :). Interaction: I guess Syndicate Wars on PC... You can destroy basically anything in the game heh. A.I.: I'd say Halo I suppose. Not a fan of the game, but the alien AI is pretty good and random at times. Graphics: I still think Silent Hill 2 looks amazing despite the lack of draw distance. 2D wise, probably Legend of Mana or Valkyrie Profile... Even GGX :). Weapons: I've found the different beams and combos in Metroid Prime to be pretty damn cool... Otherwise, Earthbound because the weapons are so unusual. Sound: ED comes to mind as a great overall game in terms of sound. Halo also made good use of actuall recordings put into a midi interface so that they could be played at random, which is something few other games seem to do right now. It's usually either redbook or midi of some sort in other games lol. Length: Well the longest game I've ever played was Dragon Warrior 7... I still have yet to beat it. Longer isn't always better, and I think games that make better use of the time you get with them tend to be better overall games. Creativity: I'd go with Frequency of Gitaroo Man. I love music games, and these finally did something great hat wasn't a ripoff of some Bemani/DDR game. Gore: Don't care about gore really... Some of the best is in the more recent RE games though. Voice acting :P: ED or MGS2. Valkyrie Profile in close 3rd. -
Mist-- As far as I know, there is only one anime convention near here happening anytime soon. It's at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont (just outside of Chicago). They're holding it from May 16 to 18 of 2003. I've not personally been to this one, or know anyone that has... So I can't tell you much about it :). Here's the site though: http://www.acen.org/ There are other cons around here, but this is the only anime one I know of here... Most are either general sci-fi (some anime), or something totally different such as games or toys.

Anime Yu-Gi-Oh: Falsebound Kingdom GameCube pics
Semjaza replied to Semjaza's topic in Otaku Central
http://www.nintendo-gamecube-fans.com/Media/YuGiOh_ngc.wmv A video for those of you here that are interested... Looks better than I expected :D, Right click and save, it's about 8 MBs. A warning... the video messes up a few seconds in at a specific spot. Move the progress bar in Media Player just past that and the rest of the video will play fine. -
Well the fact of the matter is that FFX: Another Lord was the original announced title of FFX-2. I started it before all the news on FFX-2 started hitting most non-Japanese sites, and a good deal before there was any real information on it. I'm not sure if I can change the title of the thread itself, if I can't I'll ask James to. I don't blame any of you guys for the confusion :).

Gaming Can Kingdom Hearts be classified as a Final Fantasy game?
Semjaza replied to Zanarkand Abes's topic in Noosphere
Might annoy certain people, but I'll leave some space and call it spoilers just in case... Not that it really spoils anything at all lol FF7: Aerith/Aeris, Cloud, Yuffie, Sephiroth FF8: Squall (aka Leon), Selphie (as a kid) FFX: Wakka and Tidus (as kids) All the other characters are either Disney or original.
