1. I was hoping most people forgot this thing. It's not a bad movie on its own merits... But man, if you are going to make a movie about a game, at least try to make some things consistant. Bower being a human was probably the biggest thing wrong with the movie for me... I also didn't really like the fact that goombas were huge stupid guys, but I can't really expect them to make them look like they do in games either lol.
2. My EB said it will be getting the game in this afternoon. It's only one day early, but hell... I am going to drive up there and get it anyway lol. I'd assume everyone reading this has a GC... But I was looking around ads and there were quite a few deals. Like at Target, if you buy a GC, Metroid Prime is only 20 bucks. At Circuit City, you get a coupon a gift card for buying GC and MP, and MP only winds up costing like 5 bucks lol. Prime and Fusion both come with these cool little animation cels there too. Anyway, if I get it I'll write some quick impressions heh. I think we can all assume this ia a great game though lol.
3. Well I'm skipping over the FFT stuff... But no game on PS2 is ever going to be 4 discs long. Standard DVDs hold as much as like 7 CDs, and can be layered to hold even more. That's not going to happen. Disc amount doesn't exactly equal longer games either.
4. I honestly find most anime series to be repetitive, and while it is true that the same sort of situations happen again and again... the characters kind of change their reactions. I just really like the characters and the really bizarre things that go on. It's just very enjoyable to watch or read. I guess some people will never like it as much as others lol. I personally don't think anything else compares to it, it is by far my favorite :).
5. While normally I don't think it would be that bad of an idea... It doesn't even seem like most of the Harry Potter threads get that many responses here to justify a forum for it.
6. Are you sure you haven't accidently deactivated pop-up windows in your options?
7. Ah I see what you mean :). I distinguish between FMV and cutscenes myself, so it gets confusing haha. Like you said, there were some actual in battle shots too... They are all so small though, it's really hard to pick anything out .
8. The ones I posted are in game, there is no reason why GC couldn't do those. The shot of the two characters with the blue and red background might be part of a movie, but that seemed like it lol.

Little Nicky

Suggestive imagry, such as Satanic ideas can actually get a movie an R rating if there is a decent amount of it with someother risky things lol. Spawn (if you liked it or not lol) went from R to PG-13 just by removing a graveyard scene with some stupid satanists in it. In this case it is kind of different, since Little Nicky doesn't take itself seriously at all and is a comedy. I thought this movie was horrible as well. Mr. Deeds looks even worse. I'm kind of interested in the cartoon Eight Crazy Nights though lol.
10. This is for GameCube, not Xbox ;). And yes, it's one of the more enjoyable games I've played in a while. Anyone I talk to about it knows how much I like it. There are a couple threads in the GC section on it if you look around a bit. As for looks... Games to me are for fun, not for me to feel cool as I play them. AC is cute, but not disgustingly so. It suits the game, and it helped me get attached to some of the characters and right out hate others. I can't imagine this game looking any different than it does. Its style works.
11. I don't know if this has been shown before, but the game looked pretty good. I haven't seen a thread on it as of yet, so here are some shots. http://www.newtechnix.com/Affichage_Article.php3?Id_Article=8248 ^^ Reminds me of that wallpaper I made for TheOtaku kind of lol. There are more at the site. The game comes out December 5th in Japan, and I'd hope a US release is coming... Yu-Gi-Oh is far more popular than I imagined it would be here lol.
12. If you get far enough, Ranma 1/2 isn't remotely repetitive. A lot of things happen, and the relationships between the characters were always really well done I thought. It's my favorite series in anime and manga. Shampoo is also my favorite character (finally someone agrees! lol).
13. Maybe you should take your advice and realize that it's a "critique to a skin" MK. Not everyone is going to like it, and not everyone is going to sit and kiss butt. I'm not sure why you feel some huge need to defend it, but it seems like you're just going to start arguments. I'd expect new sklins to somehow capture OB's personality slightly, but this one fails to completely for me. It's my opinion, as well as some other people's. Get over it.
14. To this day, only one movie has ever gotten to me: Edward Scissorhands. At the end when she tells Edward that she loves him, the face he makes is priceless. The fact that her saying that just once to him basically makes up for his lonely life up to that point means a lot to me for some reason. Johnny Depp is an amazing actor, I've never seen anyone else show so much just by facial expressions in a movie before, or since, then.
15. That's something Rick said... I can't see Nintendo being that stupid Honestly, Majora is out in Japan too, why not just put that on the disc as well in that case? Majora's Mask is also still for sale at many stores, and I'm sure Nintendo would rather make money of it lol. Ura just seems far more likely as it's something new, and it would require far less work, I think, to translate what little text it probably has instead of putting a totally different game on the disc. Ura is just an addon afterall, supposedly mostly changing the dungeons in the game and adding some extras... I doubt it's really that text heavy. There are quite a few months til the US gets Zelda anyway, so I'm sure it's not that big of a deal... I honestly cannot see NOA giving this away for free though, but here's hoping :).
16. I'm not a fan of Elvis whatsoever, and simply do not like the music enough to ever actually pay for it. I don't find it unbearable to listen to though. My parents always listened to classic rock stations that played stuff like Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Doors, Rush, etc. I still like that stuff (especially The Doors). You'll only have to drive with your mom so long... You'll get your own car eventually and you can play your music as loud as you want in it. I'm sure that would piss people off and break their ears. I've already had some people yell at me for blasting Bile songs.
17. I must admit I am not a fan of this, for many reasons. Some of which people who I talk to from here might know, the rest I will just say here. I do not like the top image at all. I realize James made some changes to the image, but it is still straight out Shift. I'm just not a fan of the style as it has been played out to death already by countless other images that have been shown to me, or on these boards. In terms of the actual forum, the colors are all just way too simliar. I do like monotone images, and this idea to an extent, but for a message board where you are trying to read so many things... I think there should just (at least) be some contrasts. There simply aren't any in this skin. The icons that signal a forums status (read, new, etc) are just too simliar as well. I do like the little "user info" section at the top, but I feel a lot of the stuff included in it is better left at the bottom. Once you are actually reading each thread... There is little contrast between posts (I honestly liked that every other post on the other skin is grey). There is no seperation between the poster and the actual post... It just looks like a table was stuffed in with some incredibly plain cells. In fact, the entire design looks like this. The incredibly formal Times New Roman font just doesn't fit the personality of these boards either (nor does the actual design really). My main problem is that instead of OB having its own little theme -- one that was simple, bright but not cliche or overused -- this skin makes it look like nearly every other board I've been to. There is nothing to it that catches my eye at all. I also really do not like the fact that you see the persons posts per day; we already have people complaining and fighting over post numbers and status as it is. The Post Options seem really out of place as well. They seem better left at the bottom of the post. If other people like it, that's cool. But instead of feeling like OB, all it feels like to me is "Ode to Shift." Opinions are opinions, to each their own.

cartoons overated

My cousin is involved with making those Veggietales shows, so I got to hear about that mvoie like constantly... Even after all that, I've yet to even see the show lol. Most cartoons are nonsensical. I don't want to watch dramatic cartoons all the time, it's a nice change of pace. I love Spongebob, mostly because of the same reason you hate it. All I can say is either get over it, or don't watch it... I'll never agree with you guys and I'll be watching these moronic and nonsensical cartoons the rest of my life! :D
19. Last I heard there were no additions to the gameplay over the DC version. The only thing new would be the rumor of Xbox Live support, but I'm not sure how true that is yet.
20. Are you sure it just wasn't some bra the kid found in the wrong section? lol
21. Flashy 3D graphics didn't even exist back then. Those graphics were quite good for it's time, especially when the only comparison was Dragon Quest II which was released rather close to FF. Anyone can tell you that DQII probably looks worse than the first one :D lol. If they wanted to do a FF in highquality 2D, it wouldn't exactly be small in file size... Considering they'd hopefully do a lot of it with high resolution sprites. Square's next game in the SaGa series for PS2 looks like that, and it worked out damn good. I can't see FF ever being anything less but on the cutting edge of what graphics are right now, so going back to 2D would make zero sense for the series... it is afterall, Square's flagship series. You'd have to rely on other lesser know RPGs (some from Square itself) if you wanted something like that I'd say lol.
22. I'm not saying the system cannot be hacked. I'm starting to get the idea that no one here really has gotten my points. MS is using military grade security on its Live Servers. If anyone thinks that any sort of false Live accounts can be made even remotely easily, they are insane. I know of very few people with falsified accounts on even plain old MMORPGs on PCs, and theoretically that should be a hundred times easier to do - and even then, a lot of these accounts are found and cancelled. Same with dorks who figure out a hacked password to some porn site... Even the low quality ones can find out if someone is cheating them. I don't see how things MS itself has said, that I am basically saying back to anyone here makes me "naive." MS has SAID these things, so have people involved... and like I said Unreal Championship supposedly can even block out those said mod chips. This according to what MS' people have told others who were invited to Live bootcamps or are involved in some other way. Sure they could update the chips in their Xboxes, but modding Xboxes is not cheap or easy (a lot of the mods need like 2 dozen soldering points), and even then all MS has do to is mess with their server and block out yet another one. Satellite companies and cable companies do this as well. They might not be able to always tell the direct souce, but they can send something through to pirate boxes that will basically nulify them, forcing people to fix or upgrade their units. How anyone can think this is not possible on Live is beyond me. For MS to spend all this time on something like this, and NOT be able to tell such simple things when any supposed hacker can... That's ridiculous. And I'm not quite getting your point on this money issue. You think MS is okay with people playing copies as long as they pay for Live? That's utter crap lol. MS has already gone after mod chips in Australia, and forced a lot of online retailers to totally stop carrying these chips as well. It's in their best interest to sell these gamse, and a whole $50 fee (most of which will probably go to keeping the servers up) will mean next to nothing. Game companies make money off games. Not hardware, and I'm sure based on this business model... little profit will be made off Live for a long whilte either. This is the whole point of licensing games in the first place. Companies need that money, and how anyone can say MS will just forget about copies, modders and hackers makes no sense to me. The whole point I was making before is that simple hacking of a system does NOT have anything to do with Live. Just because someone has a mod chip and can play burned copies of a game, does not mean they can suddenly just do whatever the hell they want on Live. Hacking of a system, tricking a server into sending code to some other device (this was what was done with DC and GC PSO games) or breaking into a server somehow are totally different things than sticking a mod chip in your system. Some Xbox chips can be turned off however, which would be the only true way to bypass supposed Live securities. And if you still don't believe me go to this link http://xbox-scene.fxp.info/index.php?act=ST&f=21&t=13089 and read the first post. They'd know more than anyone considering they are all involved in the mod scene in the first place.
23. Images of the other FFX-2 title have been shown in a magazine. They star Rikku. I don't have any information, although it seems that the two games share characters.
24. FF6 is impossible to beat your first time through in 17 hours without cheating (and that includes using save states on emulators, although even then I'd find that hard to believe). I have beaten the game in 25, and that was my 3rd time playing through it. I did not like the PSX rereleases of these games... The loading times are unbearable for me. You hit a monster in FF6 and you seriously have to wait a second for the little hit animation to load. There is loading between menus... After playing my cart versions, it just drove me insane. In terms of gameplay though, it's an excellent game and I can't recommend it enough.
25. Final Fantasy 4. I used to have a big interest in FF6, and I still do... It's generally the one I talk to about people when I say I prefer pre-FF7 games in the series as everyone knows of 6. However, I prefer 4 for many reasons... The main one being that 4 (well 5 too, but I'm not a big fan) managed to make up for a rather cliche story by its characters and their interactions without becoming a huge melodrama fest like FF7 and on did. It also totally avoided the very mechanical character development that started in FF6 (althought VERY slightly at that point) and just got worse and worse as the series went on. Really short game compared to other FFs, but still damn fun. The dungeon layouts were pretty damn good as well, something FF has basically given up on since FF6. Anyway, despite that rather lame complaint, FF6 is my second favorite as the characters were developed so well and the core gameplay was so polished. Every last character was likable and had a good history. Even Mog, who they could have just given up on really (this doesn't count the two hidden characters). The dungeons were good, there were some nice additions to the fighting system and the whole Esper idea (later mimicked in FF7 and 9 in differet ways) was pretty damn cool. Kefka will forever be my favorite bad guy in a FF game. I am not as into the FF games on PSX, although I did enjoy 7 somewhat... as well as X. The other two were hit and missl -- mostly miss for me lol.
