1. Thanks for returning to tell us these things. You have saved me from a horrible life. God bless you. P.S. - Thanks for being oblivious to the good half of the threads here that talk about all the things you say none of us know about.
2. I took Latin for a few years, and I do have a Latin to English dictionary somewhere.... No idea if I'd be of any help (been a while), but might as well try :).
3. I've noticed the reuse a lot of people too... That one blonde guy in particular; he had the lead in that skateboarding movie. Anyway, maybe we should stick to animation :P.
4. I would have loved to have gotten that Macross set Animego put out a while back. I can't imagine how good that looks remastered, especially considering the Robotech DVDs out right now barely look better than my old FHE tapes. Do You Remember Love was pretty good. I'm very happy with the subbed one I got off eBay :D.
5. It's not any trick lol... Your eyes basically try focusing on two sides at once, and that's the result :P.
6. I don't think Atlantis was supposed to be more like anime in it's look or whatever.... But it did basically rip off of Nadia: Secret of Blue Water (which is a LOT better, by the way). Disney has had people complain about that with the Lion King as well (Kimba). He's referring to Teasure Planet most likely though. I don't see how every action type animated film is related to anime though... I honestly didn't think that at all. I'm not a fan of the newer stuff as much as I am of the older stuff. Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty are probably my two favorite animated films ever.... Nightmare Before Chrstmas is in my top 3 movies ever as well (along with Peewee's Big Adventure and Edward Scissorhands heh). I do like Emperor's New Groove a lot though... It isn't really anything special animation wise, but it was just really well done in every other aspect. Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and others like thatof course are great as well. I expect most of the Disney Channel original stuff to suck as it is... But what annoys me is the fact that Disney is making a sequel to every damn animated movie they ever put out. It just ruins the originals' appeal.
7. I'm usually half asleep when I watch cable anyway... I'm not about to read subtitles in that case haha :).
8. I also have that card game (I bought the very first box set when it first came out), and I still don't get it. The instructions don't seem to explain the game well. This is off-subject (maybe someone mentioned it...), but that "Yo Da Man" commercial for Episode II is one of the worst commercials I ever saw in my life.

Sell Out!

I've always been annoyed that Madonna changing her sound to fit in to something is called "reinventing" and if anyone else does it, it's just called "selling out." Double standards I guess lol.
10. The Holy Fry Pan is honestly better... Way higher attack power, far more more accuracy. The big difference is the Magic Fry Pan gives you a huge boost in Guts, which means you'll make smash attacks a lot more.. Anywayyyyy, I believe it's like 1 in 120. Poo's ultimate weapon is also that rare, and Ness' is very hard to get as well. His was the only one I could never get, as there were only so many of the monster that carried it in the game.

Sell Out!

Sum 41's last album was also totally rushed. In addition to that. sometimes once you are signed, labels muscle you into doing things you don't want to do. It happens, and a lot of smaller bands can't do jack **** about it. It seems as though Sum 41 is trying to get their old sound back, based on the tiny bit of the new album I've heard. I always thought Blink 182 was rather crappy, so I couldn't care less what they did lol. And either way. I do not think this is comparable. These bands were both a type of punk at first (or whatever you like to call their genre), and now they are basically just a crappier pop-punk. How does anyone think that's simliar from doing country and switching to straight out rock (which was the suggestion Endymion was speaking about anyway)? For all we know these bands were just destined to be like this no matter what happens. Bands change, people change... I can't expect bands to do exactly what I want to. As soon as they start doing what the fans want, and not what they want, it's no longer art... It's just pandering. Total and complete selling out is another story, and I personally do not think either of those bands fit in that category... no matter how much I may be annoyed by their actions.
12.
"Fact: People are free to be themselves in other forums. I mean, why not? As stated, they are not being themselves in Newbie Lounge." Really? And when did I suggest they were?? If you go out on the town on a Saturday night, and get completely wasted, you may be letting your hair down, but that ain't the real you. At least I hope not.
I am still reading the rest of this... But keep in my CWB is not only addressing you. There have been a few people here who have said just that, and some have implied it as well.
13.
We spoke with ADV Films marketing director Ken Wiatrik today to get answers about the Anime Network, and while the company is being pretty tight lipped, we did get a few details. While previous reports have been that the channel would probably be a pay channel and not basic cable, Wiatrik's feeling were different, "I don't know, but I would hope it would be basic cable. The purpose of this channel will be to expose people to programs and genres that they have not already been exposed to in the past." What about the programming? Well, ADV's press release merely states "The Anime Network(tm) model is structured around four categorized content areas: Action Zone, Sci-Fi, Comedy Incorrect, and Horror/Martial Arts. These categories are designed to include virtually the entire spectrum of quality anime, while contextualizing content for new viewers unfamiliar with specific titles." While Wiatrik wouldn't talk about non-ADV shows he did say that not all ADV shows would appear on the Anime Network, but they are looking at airing the following shows: Gunsmith Cats, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Getter Robo, Gasaraki and RahXephon. In fact, RahXephon will probably air on the Anime Network before it is released on DVD. "We will be premiering programs that have no shown in the past. RahXephon will be hopefully premiered on the Anime Network." And yes, the above logo is the current official working logo for the Anime Network.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=2786 Well other than the shows... The logo is weird. It reminds me more of some Hanna Barbara crap than anything anime (barring maybe stuff like Astro Boy).
14. Only way you really get banned from stores anymore is to be caught cheating lol. And even that it's only that specific store, and you can still go in... They just have you flagged :P.
15. Eh, those rumors are baseless. According to them, the MGS3 trailer should be on the MGS2:Substance Xbox disc. That'd be all over the interweb by now. The fact that Konami won't even publish the game on Xbox in Japan is even more proof to me. They won't shoot themselves in the foot by doing such a thing. I guess a later port is always possible. As for the rest... Things are going to be flawed. Every game has something in it that could probably be better, you just have to not dwell on it. I personally do not mind short games if they are fun. Luigi's Mansion took me 3 hours my first time through, but I played the hell out of it and enjoyed nearly every minute. I don't regret paying for it. I will admit graphics is everything lately. You go to most boards and it's basically the only things people argue about. Yes, graphics are the first thing you see... But there are different types to be intereted in. A game can be pushing a billion polys and 1,000 effects, but if I don't like the art style... screw it. To me it doesn't look good. A technically inferior game with interesting graphics or a unique take on things is just much more interesting. People always get on my *** about why I like less mainstream and obscure titles more... This is the main reason. They have what I personally want in them, and generally they have to rely on great gameplay because they have little else to fall back on. I dislike the current FF games for this reason (and a few others). Not some lame nostalgia factor, or because I'm some huge Nintendo fanboy. If anyone saw the amount of game stuff I owned that wasn't Nintendo, they'd shut up right away lol. Games aren't about graphics to me... And while they do help, all I care about any more is being entertained and having fun. Graphics might enhance that, but they NEVER are the sole factor like so many people (graphics whores mostly) want you to believe. That said, I do prefer some actual replay value... and I can understand why people get pissed about short games no matter how good the first time through was.
16. I put out the 70 or so for it. The little extras weren't as cool as some of the Lunar stuff, but I appreciate that they bother with omake in the first place. I planned on playing them all in order. The first Arc was actually pretty fun, and I enjoyed it for quite a while. Other things came out and I drifted away from it... Mostly because a few hours in it just started to feel tedious. It does have a nice mix of strategy and traditional RPG elements though.

Gamespot said so in a really short news article months back. I can't find it right now though, and their preview is locked. IGN makes no mention of length at all. I remember people on boards that imported it (or were from Japan even) saying it was between 10 to 15 hours long. The odd thing is that the developers/publishers say it takes 40 hours. So I guess it just depends on who you want to believe. I suppose they could mean it could be maybe 10 hours of solid playtime if you ignore the cutscenes. There's a cutscene in the game that is a whole hour long .There are a couple in the 30-40 minute range. The rest are 5 minutes and below. If I find another source, I'll edit this. Edit: I just talked to someone who completed it and he told me it took him about 35 hours. However this was to get every single secret and extra in the game, as well as extensive leveling. That's a pretty big contrast to Xenogears which is like 60 to 70 hours without all the secrets or tons of leveling lol. Either way, it sounds like Gamespot really rushed through it.
19. CWB has also put out some good, rather basic points. People are just going to go with whoever they agree with. We all know that nearly all of the people who posted in here already had their mind set one way or the other. I like and don't like the Newbie Lounge. There are equally good arguments for both sides (although I feel most of the good "for" stuff was from Sara; a lot of the good "against" points have been from a lot of random people). I'm somewhat on the fence about the whole thing still. I guess the Newbie Lounge is good in theory, but not when it's actually in use. That's my opinion based on all the points here at least.
20. I'm honestly surprised anyone even would list Marilyn Manson here. I know most people will say he sucks, but when he wants to he can sing pretty damn well. Mechanical Animals and the older Spooky Kids stuff proves that. I must admit even I am getting a little tired of his growling everything out (mostly live, but even so), and this is my favoite band. I also like Akino Arai. Can't believe I forgot Jeff Martin of The Tea Party either.
21. I don't know how James could ever do a fair compromise with this. No matter what he chooses, it would probably benefit one side more than the other in some aspect. Some people want the thing totally gone. Some want it to stay. Some don't mind if it's gone, as long as there is something just like it to take its place (I still don't quite get this one, it seems exactly the same as it is now). My Otaku, if I understand it correctly, is the only remote compromise there is. I'm sure it'll still piss someone off though.
22. Yeah, Quiter is the one posting this rumor. They've been pretty reliable... But people have been known to translate stuff of the site incorrectly. The authors of the page have put up games they hope to see as articles quite often, and people over here get a little too excited lol. That doesn't seem to be the case with this game though, as they have actual quotes from Square about it... Basically saying the game is still so popular, they think it would be a good decision. Another, something along the lines of them not making it until they could be guaranteed it would be a great game. Either way, should be pretty cool... FFX2 isn't doing it for me haha.

It's supposedly due out the first quarter of 2003, meaning any time before March. I was excited when I first heard about the game... Until I read that it's only about 10 hours long, extremely easy and most of your time is spent watching cutscenes. Games that are mostly cinema do not interest me personally anymore. Still, it looks pretty interesting... I'd rent it at the least. The production values are really high, and the music is amazing. I was under the impression that everyone in the game already spoke English, so I can't see why the translation would be all that difficult... But as long as they spend some time on making it the best they can, then great heh.
24. I had a girlfriend who lived 9 hours away. We were together just shy of 7 months. I really don't recommend long distance to anyone. I don't feel like getting into the details on here though.
25. It's cable. Technically they can do whatever the hell they want to... Assuming it's an extra pay for channel (like HBO, etc), which it most likely will be. If not, well I won't bother haha.
