Did you go back to the last page to find this? lol Anyway, I guess this is a good place to post something I wanted to ask. Hopefully someone knows. I was watching this anime called FLCL, and I noticed that a band called The Pillows was doing a good deal of the music. I've managed to download a lot of their stuff (I was hesitant to buy their CD, as it's nearly 40 plus shipping to import it), and I must say they are really good. I can't find like any information on them though. I've found a Korean site on the band, so now I'm not even sure they are Japanese. Does anyone here know anything about them?

I can't even tell what battle system it's using as it is. The fact that the game now has jumping and climing like an action/adventure game is making me think the fights will be different. Not that I think the fights will be realtime, but who knows. I would assume they'd stick with the main FFX ideas though... Why call it FFX-2 if they weren't? I don't really understand why that "Active Mode" icon is so obvious in the fights though.

What are you rambling on about? I don't care what's popular or not. The fact is little girls have and still do see those things. A lot of people still like and listen to Spears and Aguilera, despite anyone else being popular. Pink, Stefani and Avril are nowhere near what Spears was a while back in terms of popularity. I still fail to see what any of that has to do with what you selectively quoted me for. They did, and still do these things. Because they are not as popular, it suddenly is different? I also did say they can, and do, what they want. Just like the other person you quoted. Nowhere did I say in my post that they just watch Britney, or really anything like what you just said. You are taking part of what was said here to an extreme level. Whether or not you think they are role models or not doesn't matter, other people do. I'm not saying it totally influences their life, but it is a factor. I think that's all anyone was saying in the first place. I've seen little girls dressing up just like Spears and whoever else. Maybe they are just trying to dress up like a slut they saw on the corner? I really doubt that. Celebrities have influences on kids lives, some kids more than others. Who knows if these same girls are going to suddenly want to pretend they are "punk" like Avril? And either way, how does that have to do with what Aguilera and Spears are trying to sell? Let alone any of the points that I or anyone else were trying to make.

Anyone in a prominant posistion (singers, actors, sports stars, politicans or whatever) has to consider that being in the spotlight that much is going to lead to them being role models for someone. Millions of people buy these girls' CDs, it's bound to happen. In the case of some bands, they just want to play... But I really think Aguilera and Spears are in this just as much for the popularity it gives. And because of this, they both know there are girls and such that might look up to them; most likely because they want to be a singer themselves. So they watch people like Spears, and they see half naked girls rubbing up on things. Like it or not, people look up to them. Little girls seeing that cannot lead to good things, especially if it leads them to believe they have to act like that to get anywhere. At the same time, I can't say that Spears or Aguilera should change, mostly because they should make their own decisions (assuming they aren't just being told to do most of this stuff, which I doubt anyway). What they're going for right now is their business. I'm not sure what group of people these songs appeal to. I find that mostly girls buy the stuff, which I find strange considering all the videos seemed designed to get guys interested. I do know quite a few guys who go on and on about Spears (few talk about Aguilera lol).I can say I'm not all that interested in either of them for many of these reasons.

I think anyone would consider it. People are tempted to do damn near anything, even if it's something right out wrong. The fact is, personally, it's not something I would do. Of course, I'd play it out in my mind... And honestly I have before. I'm sure everyone has thought about doing something like that before, thinking about what they might do differently or whatever else. I was like that soon after losing this girl. But a while later, you see things in a different light. The past is not something I want to relive. Memories are best left memories sometimes.

I think it's a decent idea, but at the same time I fail to see how it wouldn't turn into "Otaku Lounge Part 2."

Game soundtracks can be good. Most FF composistions don't interest me all that much, but I download the ones that do. I've only bought one game soundtrack, and that was Dragon Quest VII Piano Suite. Pretty good stuff. Koichi Sugiyama is probably my favorite composer. I've always wanted the Earthbound soundtrack too. I thought I was going to win it on eBay a couple weeks ago... In the last couple hours or so it went from $15 to over $60. Oh well heh.

Ferret smell depends on a lot of things. They always have a slight musk to them, but Kit's is barely noticable. I wash her quite often. Ferret litter smells awful after a day or two though, and it has to be gotten rid of a lot. If you don't do that, that's really what leads to their worse smells... At least based on my experience. And that really gets into the problem with ferrets. They are a lot of work. I can't let Kit roam the house or my room all day. She needs like over an hour of play time every day or she gets retless. Then there is the bath factor... washing her, cutting her nails, cleaning her ears out. I feel like I have a baby. The whole teething, litter training and nipping stages with Kit are hell too. I've been told Ferrets won't even get over nipping until they are well over 2 years old. She is only 1 a couple months, and is very inconsitant about it. Kit is driving me nuts. She is knocking off everything on my bookshelf, one at a time, as I type this. Snuh. Anyway, your cat is cute. I'll trade you :).
Originally posted by BabyGirl Ferrets are great. If I couldn't have a cat as a pet, my next choice would most definitely be a ferret.
We're reveresed heh. I want a cat, but can't have one (probably surprising to some people). Cats are so self reliable compared to ferrets... There really is a lot of work involved to take good care of them. I still want a kitty though :(. heh The ferret I have now, Kit, is my second one. I had to give up my first, Sable, when I went away for college the first time. My mom didn't have the time to take care of her. Sable was nearly evil anyway, and hated anyone but me and a few girls I knew. She was a good tester of personalities though... Anyone she liked was a great person lol. Sable scared the crap out of my dog (a golden lab) and of course our rabbits. Kit gets along well with our dog surprisingly. Kit is sweet though. She is still rather young, so she has way way way too much energy. I usually just let her stay out of the cage all day so she isn't so hyper later at night. I've had a few people tell me she might have sight problems though. She acts a LOT more clueless than Sable did at times. She gets stuck in things she shouldn't, jumps from things 10 feet up in the air, runs into walls like she didn't realize they were there... She's insane I guess lol. The most aggrivating thing about her is that she doesn't like anything I actually pay for. Her favorite toys are boxes, paper bags and balls of newspaper. Bandit is a good name for a ferret, I never thought of that one. I attached a pic of Kit if anyone wants to see lol.

I can wait forever. Guess you get's to shovel the crap? Me. I've had enough of it in my life. Snow in Chicago sucks hard, especially if you drive.

Will do. I'm going to totally avoid the rest of this thread as it is right now :).

No, I wouldn't. Things begin and end, it's a part of life. I wouldn't torture myself by doing such things, no matter how good it seems. I mean, it's bad enough that you had to deal with it ending the firs time. The second time could potentially be even harder on you. I really don't see the point of living in the first place if I could just go back and redo everything. I have a person that meant that much to me, and as much as I loved my time with her, it's just not to be anymore. Sometimes you just have to move on.

I make sure to copy everything with Ctrl+C before I click submit, just in case something weird like that does happen. I actually had the same thing happen to me the other day. OB claimed I was signed out, when I actually wasn't. I refreshed the page and it was fixed. If you forget to copy what you wrote, just hit back. It's set up in such a way that your text will still be in the box, unlike some other forums.

I heard of them back before they were signed. All the crap that Fred Durst put them through prior to them signing on another label was pretty interesting to hear about. I'm surprised that wasn't more publicized than it was. Anyway, Gift had some decent songs. I don't watch music video stations though (and I only listen to a classic rock radio station here, if anything), so I've yet to hear the new stuff.

There already is a thread on it in the FF section :). I think people skip over it because Square originally subtitled the Yuna sequel "Another Lord," and I put that instead of FFX-2 or whatever. There is no real news on the Rikku game yet. We've had a thread on it for a while though heh :). http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15322

I love the cold, dark and rain. I like when I'm on my way home from somewhere, walking outside, and it just starts pouring out. No idea why.

Near everything on Short Bus is better than Nice Shot, I think heh. Most bands I care about right now are in my sig. I'd get more than one from each though, because most of the bands I listed have many different styles going on. Curve, I suppose could be classified as industrial. The vocals are beautiful though, and a lot of the songs are very mellow. Hell Above Water is a song they did, and I'm sure most people have heard it from those Spiderman commercials. Other songs to check out would be Lillies Dying, Gift, and Bleeding Heart. Those are just off their last two LPs though, Doppleganger and Gift. Worst Mistake is another good song if you can find it. Deadsy, I don't know what they'd be. They are an awful lot like the rock band Rush. They both use tons of synth and Z-tars (or however that should be spelled), but the vocal ranges are complete opposite. Deadsy has been around since like 97, but due to lots of unforseen problems they never really got a major debut until 6 years later, sometime in 2002. I'd check out Winnere and Mansion World. The Key to Gramercy Park is their single. The lead singer is the son of Cher, which is a weird fact I'd never expect heh. Pixies are probably my favorite rock band ever. They are an extremely acquired taste though. I didn't even like them much at first. I wound up listening to one song and just kept moving on. I now own every CD they ever put out officially, and then some. I'd start off with Here Comes Your Man, Wave of Mutilation (The UK Surf version is better), Where Is My Mind?, Alec Eiffel and Debaser. I think it's almost all good though. godhead is stuck in gothic industrial (at least according to music magazines, whatever). One of my favorite groups; another of which has been around for quite a while on smaller labels. They were signed to Manson's Posthuman Records a couple years back. I Sell Society, Bleed, Gimp, Inside You and Tired Old Man. Freezepop is synth pop... It's heavily midi influenced (it's mostly played on portable handheld Yamaha midi sequencers), and the lyrics are not deep or anything. It's just fun music, and I enjoy it quite a bit. Science Genius Girl and Lazy are both good songs. Rasputina is a group of 3 girls who play the cello/strings in a rock type format. A strange thing, but they are damn good. There are some MP3s available on their site (http://www.rasputina.com/audibles.html). Anything off "Thanks for the Ether" is a good track, and there are some great remixes of their songs around as well. Jack Off Jill/Scarling... I bunch them together because JOJ broke up after their last release, and the lead singer (Jessicka) started Scarling afterwards. JOJ is similiar to older Manson, back when they were still known as Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids. There is very little Scarling available right now, as they've yet to realease a CD (they've played live only so far), but what is around is good. A lot of it is mislabeled JOJ stuff though. I'd check out American Made, Horrible and Girlscout by them if you're interested. Last one I'll write about is Apocalypse Hoboken. They were a local Chicago punk band that recently broke up (lots of reasons... world was against them, and it didn't help than an ex-girlfriend of one of the members sold off all their equipment. They were signed by so many labels it's hard to keep track, most recent of which was Kung Fu Records. Their last CD was Microstars, which is far less punk-ish than their previous CDs, but honestly it's my favorite one. Stuff of theirs is VERY hard to find online outside of Little Fingers and Congested. I'd check out those songs and Monchichi, Brett, When's Steve Coming Home and Darling Nikki (Prince Cover). My absolute favorite punk band ever, and it's sad only 2 other people I know have heard of them without me bringing them up. Anyway, that's more than enough. If anyone actually checks these bands out and likes them, let me know (of even if you like them as it is). Would be nice to see heh. I write way too much about bands I like sometimes, so my apologies haha.

Conference is over. FFX-2 was shown. So was some of Crystal Chronicles, although a lot more was apparently shown to certain people before the show. The game will make use of the GBA in that the GBA can be used to take the place of the GC controller. It apparently will be up to a 4 player game. Anyway, here are some pics from FFX-2. IGN will have to do, as I can't find another site with this images as of yet. I don't feel like scouring Japanese sites I can't read right now either lol. There are more at their site. I can't really tell who the characters in that logo. One is obviously Yuna, but I'm not positive about the rest. I have an ferret, and sometimes I really think she can't see well. That or she's so spastic she pays no attention to where she is going. She jump around like crazy sometimes, bouncing into walls and falling off things. She'll do this for a good 10 minutes straight sometimes. I guess she considers it playing.
-
Strange, probably useless topic... But anyway, I have 2181 tracks in my playlist, totalling about 130 hours 33 minutes 25 seconds according to Winamp. I recently deleted a lot of stuff too... I think I have way too many songs on here. Strage thing is, I've ripped almost all of them myself.
-
There is a second half to it. I'm not sure if the tapes are readily availible or not... But I bought a DVD collection of 3x3 Eyes that included both. The only problem was that halfway through the second DVD, the disc wouldn't play. I returned it and forgot about it; I was too annoyed to use 70 dollars again on that. What I saw of the second DVD was pretty good though, even though the animation seemed off. No one looked quite the same, and it just didn't feel right.

You're right about the Lulu thing too... I had never really thought of her, since the Al-Bhed people dress oddly in the first place. He hair style certainly seems simliar. Is it just me, or does this seem to be trying to cash in on some sort of sex appeal with the female FFX characters...? Edit- My servers go out from time to time... The images still work, so if they aren't showing up, try them later.

I figured I'd ask this... No one I know seems to know this band, and I was wondering if anyone here did. Hopefully, someone would actually like them as well heh. They are one of my favorite punk bands. Anyway, the group is Assorted Jelly Beans. If you care to listen, there are some mp3s in the MP3 section at www.kungfurecords.com I think. I've heard of Zao, but never listened. Someone told me to check them out when I mentioned I liked Ozma. Are there any songs I should check out first?
-
This is already reminding me of the last System thread. Most people were praising, TN said he hated them (it was a lot longer last time though heh) and then more praise ensued lol. If you like them, you might as well just buy the CDs. There are only two LPs out by them. I still see Toxicity on sale for $8.99 sometimes, and that's with the extra DVD (which is massively disappointing by the way).

I know the last post was my own, but there isn't really a way around this. I figured it would be nice to bump this up anyway. Square is having their conference in Japan tomorrow, and this is historically when they show off the next main FF game. FFXII is rumored to make an appearance, but FFX-2 is basically what is going to be talked about. FFX-2 being this Yuna centric game called Another Lord. I've read some translated articles on the game, and I can't find a link just now... But the game is centered on Yuna, and honestly sounds a lot like Tomb Raider. Yuna uses two guns; she can jump and climb obstacles; drives different vehicles in the game... Apparently, the battles will still be FF like though, using some sort of Active Time Battle system like other FF games do. I'm not positive on that yet though. Here's the first supposed image (could be from FFX, someone would have to tell me heh - clothes are a lot different though). A lot more should follow tomorrow, and if we're lucky some new XII and Crystal Chronicle info. There is also a rumor of another Square GC game, but who knows yet.
