  1. Four Swords is made up of basically different dungeons that four people can play through. All of them seem to be made specifically for Four Swords. I guess the goal is to get the most rupees before the level ends... so it's in your best interest to make sure your friends don't get more rupees than you. At the same time, you need to cooperate to get anywhere in the levels, as there are traps and puzzles that need more than one player to complete.
  2. I can't say that I'd want to change anything. If I changed something in my life (for example helping prevent my dad's death or whatever else), how would I be guaranteed the new future would be any better? Some things are just meant to happen, and I wouldn't want to play god by changing any of them. In terms of major things like terrorism, yeah it would be nice to just get rid of them... But there will always be some reaction, I can't imagine ever doing away with all these bad things. For all I know, the resulting outcome could be worse heh. I would go back and try to see and experience things I would have not gotten to otherwise... But I wouldn't try to change anything immensely.
  3. Download some Fantomas or Mr. Bungle. There are times when they sound [i]really[/i] similiar in terms of the main vocals Serj does. I assumed they were System of a Down at first as well, but when searching for information on it... I found even more things making me think it was really Mr. Bungle. But at the same time, it has this midi sound to it. Mr. Bungle never had any songs that had that. At the least, they used a normal piano. I wonder if we'll ever really know lol. I guess it could really be either band, or something else entirely.
  4. I could see people wanting it banned from schools and stuff. They ban a lot of symbols and shirts at schools as it is. That was never really specified here though.
  5. As far as I can tell, that isn't System of a Down that did that Zelda song. I've seen things to lead me to believe it was actually Mr. Bungle, and it actually sounds like something Patton would do anyway (all the bands he is in wind up covering a lot of strange songs in some way - Peewee's Big Adventure comes to mind). As for System, I'd say Toxicity was one of my top LPs for that year. The lyrics were somewhat simplistic if you think about it, but they cut to the point fast. I know all of the members of the band are talented, but it's like they are trying hard not to be... much like The Pixies used to do. For that reason, I can understand why a lot of people do not like System of a Down. Spiders, Sugar, Peephole, Innervision, Aerials and countless others are all good songs.
  6. Who actually counts how many times they do that to the [i]exact[/i] number anyway?
  7. The manga completely owns the anime. The manga is probably well over 1,000 pages long though, so things have to be cut. I personally wish they kept the part where Tetsuo got his own gang in the movie... Otherwise, it makes the Clowns basically useless to the story. I think people forget how old this anime is. It's from 1985, and I notice most people think it's from the early 90s. I think the manga was from 82 or so. Keeping that in mind, Akira is even more amazing.
  8. It seems like nearly every thread in Otaku Lounge gets like that. The Punk Music thread, the few we had about guys sucking... And even the Role Model one has people in there posting for attention. Oh well.
  9. I've never met anyone who looked a Swastika, and didn't nearly instantly think of Nazis, or at the very least hate. Even people that know the history of the symbol (I also think the Greeks used it; like mentioned, if it's in the reverse direction it means something opposite - both are used in certain types of witchcraft), would probably assume it had something to do with hatred. It doesn't matter what it meant hundreds of years ago, everyone knows about the Holocaust and WW2. Or they should at least. Barring all that... Forgetting history is not a good thing to do, no matter what happened. Completely banning that symbol is the equivalent of forgetting about all the horrid things the Nazis did in WW2, and I don't think that should be allowed. Everyone is just worried about being PC all the time. Getting rid of "hateful" symbols might make a few people feel like they did something remotely good in their lives, but it does nothing. Somehow I doubt even most Jewish people that were affected by the Holocaust would even want that symbol banned. Forgetting history will just lead to it repeating itself.
  10. As far as anyone knows, the LttP game is exactly the same. The only real reason for me to get it personally is the Four Swords game. Based on some recent shots I saw of it from New Technix, there is a lot more going into Four Swords than I first thought. As for the box, it's basically exactly the same as the SNES box from years ago... I don't find it all that impressive haha.
  11. Anthology was FF5 and 6... Chronicles was FF4 and Chrono Trigger. You could bypass all this stuff and simply buy a Pro Action Replay. You just plug it in the PSX port in the back of the system. It allows you to play imports and use cheats. I believe it also bypasses the whole PAL/NTSC thing as well (much like Freeloader on GC). You simply pop in a game that does work normally, let the Action Replay boot up... and then put in the import. You can get a spring which you can stuff under the door hinge on the PSX, so basically you can take as much time as you want swapping. Datel is a UK company as far as I know, so they shouldn't be that hard to find. They are easily availible on the internet though, I got mine for like 10 dollars shipped. If you have a newer model PSX without the port on the back though, I guess modding is the only other option.
  12. You can't expect much plot from this movie. I mean, the first was about him basically accidently killing Santa Claus and taking over his job lol. I have no plans to see this movie... Tim Allen has had one good film role in his life, and that was in the Toy Story movies. He didn't even play himself, which was a definite plus. I'd watch it if it was on cable or something though. I am getting rather annoyed that Disney/Touchstone/whatever releases a sequel to every damn thing they put out that does remotely well. It's not so bad for live action movies like this one, but they are destroying their animated films doing this. I guess that is off topic though.
  13. I of course know English. I know some Hindi, Bosnian (not sure what their language is called), Spanish and a couple other random languages... "Some" basically meaning I can say a few sentences and know the swear words :). Otherwise, I took Latin for 3 years. It was forced upon anyone who decided to join my high school's Veritas program, which basically meant you took all honors classes and participated in summer reading meetings and such (which I loathed). I've never really used Latin outside of that class. It comes in handy with guessing what words mean on ACTs or whatever else, but that was about it. The only plus of taking Latin that I can think of, is that I can read Roman numerals without thinking about it.
  14. I used to get great grades. We didn't really have a GPA system in my gradeschool, but I only got A's (sometimes B's). Around the last year of highschool something just changed. I'd blame it on the fact that my original highschool closed after my Junior year, and I had to go to another one for my Senior year. I stopped caring about getting good grades, and I went down to a B- or so average. I was in all honors classes, so a C was still worth a 3.0. Didn't wind up hurting me too much. I went to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale for my first year of college. I cared even less here, mostly because I hated the school (Every other person basically was a binge drinker it seemed; teachers aids barely knew English; my dorm was utter ****). I wouldn't even go to classes if it was raining out. I wound up failing everything nearly everything, but I got an A in speech and a couple D's in other classes. I left after that semmester lol. I'm doing much better where I am now, although I really hate where I am... I am leaving after this quarter (I get my associates then). I have a 3.5 average right now I think.
  15. I think he means his attachment... You'll have to put the image in as a link using html or those Vb [img] tags. Otherwise it won't show up
  16. Hmm... That's only one more Square game though. No one here really talks about Chrono Cross/Trigger, Front mission 3, Threads of Fate, SaGa Frontier, Einhander, Secret of Mana/Evermore, Ergheiz OR Vagrant Story... which are all Square games as well. I can't see it happening haha. Of course, it's not up to me... :). And on top of that, the PSX forum would be near dead without that thread heh.
  17. There definately isn't an automatic spellcheck... I go back to my posts and fix up small spelling mistakes constantly. I agree with an above post. If people aren't going to bother to write decently, they won't use a spell checker at all. I don't think that's really the issue though. In terms of people here who write well and would like it to just catch their small mistakes, I would think it would be a nice thing to have. However, I don't really think that any web based spell checker is going to do a lot of good, especially with odd names people use here and in RP games (the thing would want to check every single one of them). For basic words, people probably know what to mean anyway. If all else fails, type your more important stuff in some sort of word processor and then paste in into the reply box. Saves some problems, and if the spelling and grammar are [i]that[/i] vital to your post, you probably won't mind the extra time it takes heh.
  18. My friend keeps asking me what you're supposed to do after you recover the stolen treasure in that one town (where you read people's minds). I think something happens, and some caravan moves northward. I can't remember, so I was hoping one of you could. Thanks :).
  19. I know plenty of people who think my love of Bowie and The Doors is stupid, so never know :).
  20. Donkey Kong was my dad's favorite game. DK Classics was the first NES game he actually bought me. It was more for him, but he rarely wound up playing it (If he did play NES, we played Double Dragon 2). This reminds me of Mario Bros., which was also a pretty cool game. It doesn't really compare though.
  21. I know an entire [i]one[/i] person who has a GBA. I'm sure he'd get this game, but I doubt I'd ever get to try 4 player.
  22. Why would anyone laugh because you like the Beatles? I'm not a huge fan, but Eleanor Rigby and While My Guitar Gently Weeps will [i]always[/i] be great songs.

I was referring to the post just above me heh.
  24. Honestly, the introductions are not long at all. I had completed all 4 in under 50 minutes. I don't know who came up with this hour each idea, but that's really far from the truth. Each prologue does have baically one or two enemies you fight, plus a boss. The prologues are really only meant for you to get used to each characters items and fighting skills. Anyone that spends 4 hours doing these areas is not very good at games lol. And yes, the credits do appear early on and are done in a really nice movie style... part of what I think really adds to the polish of this game. Honestly, this is my favorite RPG on the system from what I've played so far. It certainly grabbed my interest far more than FFX has. I know what you mean about too many games... I still have to get Timesplitters 2. I'll probably get Tony Hawk 4; Suikoden 3 come out on the 22nd. Then RE: Zero, Nightfire, Metroid Fusion and Metroid Prime all come out on the SAME day. What the hell...lol. I've never played Beyond the Beyond since I was lead to believe it was laughable. Two other problems I forgot. They might be confined to my copy. One, the rumble just doesn't seem to work at all. And two, every once in a while the PS2 makes me start this game from the Browser menu. I've never had that happen before.
  25. Square of Japan has recently said they only plan to run FFXI through 2004. Doesn't give people much time.
