Gaming Big help for Nintendo coming from Factor 5?
Semjaza replied to NorykoAngelcry's topic in Noosphere
Considering how much processing power it takes to use full screen Divx, I can't see RE ever really using it for the backgrounds. I don't know that the GC could handle those models and Divx at the same time. Who knows though. -
When I was younger I used to wonder if maybe all our lives, and the entire world for that matter, were just a dream of something/someone else. And if that thing would awaken, we'd all just disappear. Then Wilson said that same thing on Home Improvment like a few years later, so I kind of gave up on that idea lol.

I'm already working with that one... I have most of it drawn, but the front of his hat was a problem since I don't know what it looks like. ShyGuy helped me out though, so thanks :). I wanted to add the top of him to that image, I'm still working on it, but hope to add it to the one I'm doing right this minute lol.

Yeah, I've seen that 3 headed dragon... I figured I'd make use of it in a second wallpaper. Adam asked me to do a few, but we'll see what happens lol. The creatures in this show are pretty cool looking, I'm surprised. Didn't expect much out of this show honestly, but it sounds pretty good. Does anyone have an image of Dark Magician that shows the front of that hat he wears? I only have a full image of it from the back, and I cannot tell what it's supposed to look like in the front. It's making it very hard for me to do in Illustrator lol.

The gradeschool I used to go to is like 2 blocks away... At like 11 AM they marched by my house screaming. All these cars were blasting their horns. It was horrible. I might not have cared if I wasn't up til 5 AM, but too late now. So glad it's over with.

Alright, thanks :). Time to draw more of these things...bleh.

What do you consider R&B? I'm not into the new stuff that fits into the category honestly... But I like older stuff like The Temptations and all those bands, which I think used to be considered R&B. If not, I don't know what they are supposed to be classified as haha.

There really is no right place to put this... there is little point to it. You are comparing a console only company that makes mostly platformers to a PC only company that makes nothing but RTS games. Nothing intelligent will come out of this. Closing it down...

Think about it really... Imagine if someone that emobodies nothing about your favorite music (in this case punk) randomly becomes popular and claims she is playing that said music. That's what is happening here. There is nothing punk about Avril. She doesn't sing it, she doesn't really act it... Instead we have a girl "co-writes" her songs (apparently with lyricists, which is a problem in itself when dealing with punk), gives them these stupid mispelled names and does everything she can to come off as punk to people that don't know any better. For me it has nothing to do with me liking or not liking her songs, it has to do with her basically forcing herself into a "punk" image so she can fit in with this recent punk fad where any poppy sounding punk type band does well. I don't care about her actual songs one way or the other, but the fact is she, and other groups like her who are forcing themself into something they shouldn't be in, are what's wrong with music in general right now. It takes the spotlight off of bands that should actually have it. I have no idea if that's how PiroMunkie feels, but that's my thought on it. The fact that a thread on AFI falls off the face of the earth at OB, and this is like the what? The 105345234 thread on Avril here...further proves that what she, and her label, are doing is working.

What does this Dark Magician look like so I can find some shots to go by? Also, this is for sure the dragon Seto uses? I've also found shots of a few similiar ones. Hopefully he uses the one attached... lol

I have to get this wallpaper done for the Yu-Gi-Oh section rather soon... Unfortunately, I know little of the show, but I have been studying up on it so I can make a worthy wallpaper. I was planning on doing a few, but the one I am concentrating on is a Yugi/Yami Yuki (I don't quite understand the difference between the two, maybe someone here can explain for me) vs. Seto Kaiba. From talking to people Yugi seems as though he uses this Blue Eyes - White Dragon card a lot... But what does Seto use? I've found a lot of images of him using what appears to be the same card. Is there another card he uses often that I am better off using? Any other ideas that might help with this wallpaper would be appreciated. I don't want to make something that totally reverses what happens in the show. I attached an image of Blue Eyes - White Dragon that I am working on. The coloring is not done yet, but I am planning on putting it in the wallpaper. Thanks for any help :).

Yeah, those are off a DVD Nintendo was giving away for free in Japan. It's about current and upcoming GC and GBA games. Zelda was shown, along with Miyamoto explaining it. So was FF: Crystal Chronicles, FF Tactics and some others. The best rip of the DVD seems to be from ruliweb.com, but it's in another language so it's hard to navigate. Worth searching out though, the video is so clean I could run it full screen and it still looks great.

I have DK Jr. Math, Donkey Kong, Soccer and Tennis... I'd be willing to trade one of these for Excitebike :). I'll PM you about it. Anyone else who wants to trade for these PM me as well. I hope this gets going, because it could be a pretty good thread assuming it doesn't get all spammy.

I've never imported a game I knew was coming here... Not going to start with Zelda :). I went to the first batch of Cube Clubs, and it was pretty cool... Other than the annoying Techno and tons of kids who wouldn't get off the systems. I wish I was 21 so I could go to the late night ones. They better do this again next year.

Doesn't anyone have something new to talk about? lol Every other day it's something about Avril it feels like. I don't care what she says her musical style is. I personally don't like her, or feel she fits into punk at all. This whole punk lifestyle fad as a whole is getting damn annoying. I love punk, I listen to it most of the time I play music... but honestly, if all someone has to do is dress in a certain way to be considered punk, what is the point? Spending hundreds of dollars on certain clothes and accessories (like she apparently does), to me just defeats the whole point of punk in the first place. I love bondage pants and all that other stuff, but I'm not about to go spend 90 bucks on some Tiger of London stuff so people think I'm punk the second they see me. It's getting stupid, and I hope that these so-called "fashion punks" disappear soon... I feel Avril is one of them. In terms of music, people can listen to her all they want... Doesn't affect me any. I've got my own music.

I loved my first highschool, and everyone always went nuts homecoming week. I wasn't one to dress up like an idiot for the "special" days, but at the end of the week we always had a pep rally which was fun as hell. My school closed down after my Junior year though, and my friends and I mostly split up and went to different places... so needless to say the whole homecoming week at the new school sucked hard. The college I'm at now doesn't do anything like that. There are people wearing clashing clothes, hawaiian shirts and crazy haircuts there every day though... so I guess it's kind of normal.

That's what I am saying... The magic meter appears in shots with Link having a green undershirt, there are older shots of him in that shirt without a meter as well. That doesn't mean that Link only has magic when he has the green shirt, as no new shots have him with a brown shirt to prove otherwise. That's what it seems like this GameFAQs guy is trying to prove at least, and I don't think it works lol.

Maybe it's me, but there have been way too many love/hate music threads here lately... Anyway... 1.) Whatever sounds good... I like rock, punk, techno, synthpop, punk, hardcore, hip hop... whatever the hell a good sounding song is considered. 2.) I cannot decide... Mostly Pixies. Then I'd say Manson, Tim Skold, The Pillows, Bowie, The Doors, whatever is listed in my sig and countless punk bands make up the rest of it. 3.) Right now, Reptile by Nine Inch Nails. 4.) I generally find myself listening to country least. 5.) There are a lot of popular singers that shouldn't be considered as talented as they are... but honestly I don't care about this, and certainly don't have a worst singer. 6.) I dislike a lot of songs, nothing comes to mind as a worst. 7.) A few, they have no names. I don't like naming things, takes me a long time to come up with a name that fits and I feel it constrains things. 8.) Nothing comes to mind, my friend and I just play stuff together... it's not really a band lol. 9.) I'd rather play an instrument. 10.) Usually random weird songs. Sleep time finally... I stay up way too late heh.

There are 3 mech games currently out for Xbox that I know of... Robotech and Steel Battalion (that game with the $200 controller) were mentioned. There is also Gun Metal (I think that's what it was calleD), which I haven't personally played. It kind of slipped out of everyone's view, not many people seem to know about it. There are a few others coming up, most notably Murakumo by From Software. It's looking pretty impressive, and it was released in Japan recently. As for PSX/PS2... There is the Armored Core series, which I've never really played. There is a game called Carnage Heart for PSX, which is extemely rare right now. It was mostly about building your own mechs and stuff, supposedly very complex and strategic. Front Mission 3 is an excellent game though. It is comparable to FF Tactics in a way... Except of course it has more a of sci-fi theme with all the mechs and all. Certainly worth the 15 bucks I paid for it lol. There is also Ring of Red, which is another game I never played. It sounded like it only appealed to people really into the genre though.

If you love yourself (not to the point of being self centered and whatever elsE), everything else should follow. So I'd most likely pick that one. Personally, I wouldn't care much about what country I lived in compared to the other choices here.

I haven't even noticed the magic meter until the new shots. All the new shots have Link in a green shirt (Nintendo.com put some new ones up today apparently). It doesn't really prove anything in that case... lol. But who knows.
Originally posted by James I think it makes up for it. I don't know about Europe, but when people talk about Australia, I think they forget that we regularly get games earlier than the USA/Europe...and in some cases, we get games that other countries never see.
Bleh. I am still upset that Europe/Australia get Doshin the Giant and Kuru Kuru Kururin, and the US gets jack. Anyway, kind of off topic... but there is a great interview with Charles Martinet (the voice of Mario) at N-Sider, that was spearheaded by James. Very worth reading.

I did honestly have quite a few problems with the original... Like CWB and I both said, the dungeons simply sucked. They were really just boring mazes. However, the 2nd one does fix this problem. The dungeon areas are still incredibly large, but their layouts make far more sense. There was only one area so far that I felt was annoying in terms of how it was made. I wouldn't dismiss Persona 2 over what Persona failed to do well... I feel that it kills the original in this department, but that's me lol. The demon conversations have been added upon heavily, and there are far more reasons to speak to them than before. The only think that returns from Persona that I would like to be worked upon is some of the menus. There are just far too many, but at least Persona 2's are FAR more organized. I got annoyed everytime I had to look at my status in the original since the menus were so messed up.

It comes on here at like 12 AM on FOX Sunday nights. I like leaving the TV on when I'm in my room, so I catch brief glimpses of it. Honestly, from what I've seen I cannot stand it. The part that made me decide this finally was the episode where she defeats Dracula. I don't know if he ever returns, but the fact that she can kill what is basically the king of vampires with a couple kicks and a stake to the heart in about 30 seconds really bothered me. There are a lot of other examples like this in the show that I don't feel like typing up lol. I can see why people like it, but it does little for me.

I know a few people that like this series so much that they act like the game is the main reason to own a GC. I personally do not like it. I find the board game part boring, and the mini games way too short to be of any fun. This one seems a little more interesting than the previous 3 though, so I might give it a chance.
