I don't think she is a bad actress... But she certainly isn't amazing. She isn't a bad singer either, but she certainly shouldn't have any of her songs published. I think she is only allowed these things because people view her as some sort of sex goddess. I honestly never found her that amazing... I'm always bothered by the fact that her breast size changes dramatically between her shows and movies .

Desbroko did read your post, otherwise how would he have known about your "old school" comment? I think his point was that the OoT Link isn't old school. The Link from the games previous to the N64 games would be. Honestly, I read all of these people complaining that they want it to look like the "old" Link, the OoT Link. What about the people who want the series to go back to the style of Link to the Past and Link's Awakening? I really think that's who this game appeals to. Then again it's still divided because of the cartooniness :P.

Yeah, the game is called Panzer Dragoon Orta. It's expected in November 2002. It's a pretty game, but I don't know that I am interested as of yet. I like rail shooters, but I kind of got my fill after the last two Saturn games in the series. Maybe someone else feels like writing more about it than I do :).

When I am alone, I'm generally in my room... There isn't much to do in here other than mess with the computer, draw, play videogames or take out my ferret. The only other thing to do is clean my room...Which I actually wind up doing a lot hehe. I guess I act different... I dunno. I wind up singing along with my songs in here. Something I'd never do with other people, depending (my friends and I sometimes sing stuff in the car). Most of the time I just wind up thinking about stuff... Generally things I don't want to think about. I only am good at making things (images, etc) when I am alone and it's really late at night. I can't think very creatively around large groups of people (such as in a classroom). When I am with other people... it depends. If I'm with a bunch of talkative people, I might be incredibly quiet or the loudest out of them. It depends on how well I know them. If I am with a few quiet people, generally I don't make an effort to talk unless something happens. Sometimes you just don't need to talk to communicate with someone anyway. I do act like a dork around other people though. When me and my friend are downtown between classes I jump up and down stairs, climb things I shouldn't, dance around and generally just goof off. There's nothing else to do, and honestly I couldn't care less what the business men walking around downtown think heh. I'm mature when I have to be :). That's all that matters.

I'd share my broadband joy if I could . Anyway, I was curious to know if you started with a photo and edited it... or if you did this from scratch.

I'm not sure if wrist cutter was being sarcastic or not (hard to tell online), but if he is... I totally agree. I don't get the debate over this in the first place. A show is good, or it's not. It doesn't suddenly lose or gain quality if it gets popular. There are many anime in Japan that have a million products based on them available, but people don't consider them mainstream here. But if something gets popular/mainstream here it's suddenly "uncool" to like it. I've never liked anime because of the image if gives people. Until fairly recently the average stereoptype of an anime viewer in America was some fat, pale 30 year old (something like Comic Book Guy). It certainly wasn't very cool back then, but people still enjoyed it. Now that it's gotten to more people it's somehow turned into some popularity and image contest. You have to sit around and hear people complain when their favorite anime is suddenly well known, or people that normally wouldn't care are interested. Or watch arguments between people because all they know is the dubbed version of some show, or don't know the Japanese version of some character's name. I seriously think most people hate mainstream anime because they want anime to be some cool thing they can keep to themselves and their little groups. They want to claim it as their own, and keep everyone else away. Somewhat like how people suddenly hate punk bands that make it. That and I think saying they hate mainstream anime, and people naming off all these foreign things pretending they know Japanese makes them feel smarter and superior. If you simply dislike a show then fine. But dismissing a show because it's mainstream is such an idiotic thing to do (especially considering most people don't know jack about anime -- or anything in general really -- they say they hate). Everyone is free to like what they want, I just think there are more vaild reasons around than that. Probably a little harsh, but that's my impression of some people I know (not a majority, but a good portion)... not really anyone specific to these boards :).

88k equals instant download for me :D. Anyway, I like it... even if it is really dark (I generally like bright images). I almost looks like an eye of some stone creature. Nice job,

Am I the only one that totally does not understand anything that was going on in either of those conversations?

Well I look at it this way. It's from Disney, and they are going to market it the way they market everything. Television. It's still got a month to go, but I'm willing to be Disney is going to put massive amounts of money behind the commericals for the game. Especially on their own channel. I realize that the game is supposedly rather difficult for younger children, but I think we all know that younger kids are probably going to be the ones to buy the most copies of this game. The same type of people that watch the Disney Channel in the first place. Anyway, the print info I've read on this game so far has always been positive... and it seems Square/EA is only improving on the US release :). I personally am looking forward to this game. I don't care if anyone knows I like Disney cartoons. Disney is auctioning off pre-release copies of the game on Ebay... if you are willing to pay the price you'll get the game a little early hehe. They were between 100 and 50 dollars last time I looked.

I don't think this warrants it's own thread, soo... I just picked up this game called Sky Gunners. I had no idea what it was about, but I've loved everything Atlus has bothered to publish in America so far (Tail Concerto, Tactics Ogre, Ogre Battle, Persona, etc). It had this cute anime look to it, so I thought why not. The game turned out to be one of the coolest aircraft shooters I've ever played. It's really disorientating at first... The camera is just weird, and at times your plane is driving towards the screen. Once you get used to this though, I think the camera was done in this way for the best. The controls are incredibly sensitive as well. I got used to them fairly quickly, but one of the training levels drove me nuts because the plane would turn heavily with the slightest touch. The graphics are nice though, everything is bright and colorful. The explosions are top notch, the frame rate if perfect and the draw distance is incredibly far. Best of all the sound is great. The music is wonderfully orchestrated, and the game lets you pick between Japanese and English vocals (one of the reasons I love Atlus). Anyway, take everything about crazy 2D shooter games and push them into 3D and you might get something like this. I recommend people at least rent it :). And this isn't Sony related... But Atlus is also releasing Animal Leader in the US as Cubivore. The rumor was true :D. Can't wait. DBZ might actually be good if the characters didn't spend 5 episodes charging up a super special move. "Wait we can't beat this guy! We're half dead! OH, I just remembered a new special move I've never used before! ::Charges it up forever:: *BAM* We won!" I know this is extreme exaggeration of the show, but it seriously reflects my feelings on it.

When I was little I used to wonder if maybe our entire existance was the dream of someone else... and if it would all end once that being awakened. Of course one day, years ago, I was watching Home Improvment (God I hate that show) and their neighbor said the same thing. Why must they steal my ideas? I guess that's kinda related to the alien theories lol. About planets being on the other side of the sun... Why can't someone put a ship into space and somehow make it stay in place without orbiting anything... After awhile those other planets would make their way to the ship and we could know for sure.
-
Same with me. I don't know jack about the show (I only watched it twice). Same thing with that DBZ contest (although I used to watch the videos of it several years ago). I guess the 50/50 chance is now 100%, right Solid Snake? Hehehe :excited:

It's funny that IGNPS2 just now put that information on their page lol. The Sephiroth thing was first mentioned over a month ago (Just like IGNCube just announced Enclave on GC, when Nintendo.com has had it on their release list forever now). Oh well. I'm very happy to hear about the Expert mode addition though. I'm getting this just for the Nightmare Before Christmas and Alice in Wonderland areas :D.

I live in Chicago... All I get to see are pigeons, squirrels and crows... Every once in a while a seagull, racoon or possum. If I go out to the suburbs I sometimes see geese and ducks... I've only seen a deer outside of the TV or zoo once in my life lol. I've seen plenty of other animals when on vacation though... moose, coyotes, rabbits, wolves, buffalo and black bears. Pet wise we've had geckos, toads, garter snakes, turtles and some dogs. I've personally owned 2 ferrets (Sable and Kit), 2 rats (Pogo and Twiggy) and a scorpion (Pinchy).

I think there are probably aliens... but I don't believe that they come here to stick things up people's butts or turn cows inside out. Either way, it's not something that affects me... so I don't consider it a big deal haha.

I agree that Bomberman Generations is tough. I thought it would be sickeningly easy, but it's just not. Mainly because it's not usually obvious what you are supposed to do next. It is also a pain to time bombs correctly. It's fun though, and really all I care abour was the multiplayer anyway.
-
Very cool. Would be absolutely perfect if it was flipped though... I keep my icons on the right side of the screen :whoops:
-
Probably because it's still basically a niche thing, and the companies want to make their money back. You'll notice stuff like DBZ isn't generally expensive like a lot of other less popular animes. That's my guess, I don't know the true reason.
-
I'm not sure of your reasoning behind why it would be any easier to hack. Regardless, modded Xboxes can NOT use Xbox Live. It simply won't work. MS is going to be checking on the server side, so any new mod chips that come out will be blocked as well.

There are plenty of rock bands that have changed their style over time, but usually it's about progressing... not some lame attempt to change and become popular. Sure, it might be like that if all you are familiar with is played on the radio. But with most of what I listen to, that's rarely happened. And if it does, it generally adds to their sound... not radically changes it.
-
It's funny how many bands covered that Barbie Girl song... Rammstein comes to mind. I can't stand them personally, and really I haven't seen them since the short time they were popular. I was on the train the other day though, and some thirty year old man was blasting them on his Walkman, which I thought was hilarious.

What does it matter if it's mainstream? If it's good, then it's good. I don't think it should matter who else watches it. Yeah, I know there will be a lot of ignorant casual viewers of the show, but it's not like you need to listen to them lol. Either way... I'd watch a Ghost in the Shell show. I had no idea one even existed. I'm still waiting on the damn manga to be translated. And I don't see any reason why some company can't translate the show just to put it on CN and release it for home use later. It's happened quite a bit already.

Do you just want a scan of the cover? If so, I can scan it tomorrow morning. Otherwise, here is one from Amazon:
