I can't say I've ever played anything that is as stupid as the things mentioned so far in this thread. I've thought I've been bored, but apparently not as bored as other people get. What the hell were you people thinking? lol

The best way to tell a guy your not interested
Semjaza replied to Lennex3's topic in General Discussion
As said several times, I'd just say I wasn't interested repeatedly. If that wouldn't suffice, a kick in the nuts probably would. -
I have absolutely NO motivation if whatever I have to do doesn't interest me even a little bit. I know this is true for a lot of people, but for me it's almost crippling. I find myself with a pretty average GPA thanks to all the classes I can't even bring myself to attend for this very reason. I try to fix it, but it's incredibly difficult. I also have a tendency to stay up really late for no reason whatsoever. I don't do anything of particular interest; I just don't feel like going to sleep. Maybe I need some sleeping pills.

I have one really good friend who I've known since high school. We don't see eachother as much as we'd like due to various circumstances, but the time apart never seems to hurt anything. He's definitely my best friend. Plus there is my girlfriend, who despite all the ups and downs, is still someone that fits in that category very strongly. I have some other friends, but none are as close. A lot of them have wound up moving away for various reasons and I've lost touch. AIM is the only real means of communication with these people and you know how crappy that can be. A lot of people I meet in school wind up graduating or in completely different classes than I take. I've kept a couple of them around in some form, just because I see them more. Other than that, most people in my daily life are kind of just filler for me. I have no real interest in having more close friends, so I don't really try to make any. I like to think I have several friends on here as well. I don't really differentiate between online friends and offline friends. To me, if there's some sort of strong bond there, it doesn't really matter. I'd probably do as much to help some of my friends online as I would offline, if I could.

Another one I recommend is www.CDBaby.com. This site specializes largely in indie releases and sells pretty much anything an artist is willing to send over to them (they're pretty fair about paying the artists too). A lot of things that are nearly impossible to find on larger sites like Amazon are on CDBaby. Definitely worth a shot for the more obscure stuff.

have you ever thought as one of your pets as family?
Semjaza replied to a topic in General Discussion
I think anyone that had a decent pet would think of it as part of the family. I don't particularly love dogs in general, but I love the dogs our family has owned throughout the years. Anyone that says they'd think of it purely as an everyday animal obviously just hasn't had a pet... or at least not a good one. I have two cats, right now. The dark grey one is Napoleon and we think he's a Chartreux. He fits all the descriptions from appearance to attitude. He's more like a dog in many senses than a cat. He doesn't do a lot of typical cat things like jumping up on furniture and clawing things. On the other hand, Ava does everything I'd figure a cat would do. She's constantly on top of things if she thinks she can get some sort of food out of it (she has a really big obsession with people food). She's really quiet otherwise and extremely feminine in appearance and actions, particularly when compared to Napoleon. They're both incredibly affectionate. I'm used to people's cats hiding under things when people come over, but neither of them do that. They generally want to be petted and held on to. I really care about both of them. They help me feel a lot better on bad days and it's really nice to have them around when no one else happens to be around. -
Calling it a cult movie seems accurate, honestly. That's usually used to describe films that don't have mainstream popularity, but still have a smaller, strong following (hence the "cult") part. There's lots of movies that fit into this category, as do many of my favorites.

I can't answer this as easily as I should be able to. Nothing really just jumps to mind as a favorite... I'm probably best off dividing up by generation. 8-Bit: Dragon Warrior IV - One of the best games in the series, although I have a hard time giving this a nod over DWIII. I think what separates this is that it's the series first real foray into developing the characters more beyond their starting roles. The Chapter system was incredibly interesting and pretty original at the time. Plus, I'd have to say it has the best ending of any NES games I know of. 16-Bit: Earthbound - A lot of people don't understand the love Earthbound gets from its crazy fans. I don't know that I can really explain it myself. The game was just such a massive breath of fresh air at the time and even if it was first released today, I think it still would be. The characters were quirky and interesting, the enemies were bizarre, the locales were fun. I loved how it was based on this wholesome version of mid-1900s America in a way, but with its own weird twist. 32-Bit/64-Bit: Persona 2: Eternal Punishment - The original Persona: Revelations is rather archaic, although still an excellent game if you were willing to give it the time. Persona 2 ups it in every single aspect, however, from graphics to story to characters. First person dungeons were replaced by third person ones, although they were no less mazelike. It's probably the most mature RPG on the system, in the sense that it actually has a lot going for it in terms of an adult-themed storyline. Still, it's very attached to a hardcore RPGer stigma and I doubt it would appeal to everyone. Current Gen: Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne - An amazing game in every sense. Certainly flawed, but everything it does right makes up for it. This is the first RPG of this generation that I really got into (I won't count Skies of Arcadia, since I played that first on DC - excellent game though). It's not for everyone. There's lots of experimenting, leveling up and dungeon crawling... but if you want to, there's a lot of interesting things to uncover and study upon. I think the most interesting aspect of it is really that you get as much back as you put into it. Amazing sense of style too, particularly in some of the cutscenes that use an excellent sense of color and lighting. Handhelds: Dragon Warrior III - One of the NES's best RPGs redone with further story, new quests, new items and better graphics. I absolutely loved this and I still think it's the best RPG on the handheld. PC: Fallout - I never enjoyed the second one as much, but the original was awesome. I enjoyed basically every aspect of it. People should hunt it out, most places have both games together for $10 new.

Yeah, I'm really not understanding what you're getting so insulted over. The girl obviously doesn't really know what she's talking about and most likely is doing a lot of this simply because she can tell it annoys you. I'd just ignore it and move on. Enjoy anime for yourself, not for other people.
Final Fantasy was never and probably will never go to a Microsoft system. The reason square and Enix merged was they were both pissed off at Microsoft for trying to buy them, the way Rare was bought.
Where do people read these things?
-
I'd say they're all pretty dumb. I can't say I've seen any that I thought were good enough to justify the existance of so many of these series in the first place. I'd say the worst ones I've seen are those ones on E!... like Growing Up Gotti or that other new one with a mom and daughter I've never heard of. They'll probably do one about Joan Rivers and her untalented daughter next.
-
They are making a deal with Mistwalker, not Square. Sakaguchi left Square Enix to form that studio. It's not as if he has any say over the FF franchise thanks to that.
Haha. I wanted to at least get a discussion going for a little while. I was debating on whether or to include the subtle EGM allusion. Probably shouldn't have. :animesmil You know, it has me tempted to at least call Gamespot though to confirm this. It's not as if it's such a hard April Fool's joke to test, unlike their old Resident Evil 2 Akuma joke.
I think most people know it's an April Fools joke by now, if they didn't in the first place. Every site it's been posted on shot it down in about three seconds. I don't think people fall for these magazine jokes anymore, since they happen every single year. It's a really terrible photoshop, I think lol.

This is mostly directed to people in or finished with college, as I am now. I guess other people can answer it, although I don't know how they'd have experience to answer any of it. First a general story... I went to two high schools as well (the first closed down my Junior year and so I spent my Senior year somewhere I didn't want to be in apathy). They were college prep, but I honestly don't feel like any real attempt was made to prepare any of us for our future. A lot of references to college were concerned with how "new" and "scary" and "difficult" it would be in a multitude of different words. I've not really found it to be very much different, aside from more freedom and less idiocy on the part of the students (but that's debatable at the places I've gone to). We were given some brochures and this one guy would mail off our applications, but it really feels like a lot of it ended there. Maybe this is because I was a new Senior at the school, but I don't really know. I've gone to two colleges at this point. The first was Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. I knew little about the place other than that they supposedly had a decent computer program... The main reason was just to get away from everything for awhile. In that it succeeded, because I wound up hating the place (I'm not a party guy, you have to be there). I found lots of excuses not to go to class, some as ridiculous as the fact that it was raining outside. I failed everything except for speech, which I got an A in. As you can tell, I actually liked that class. Anyway, afterwards I wound up at IADT, which is more or less a design school. I took the computer/interactive media end... Basically, they "teach" you how to do audio production, video production, websites, graphics, etc. I put that in quotes because, although it's been getting much better recently in that aspect, I really learned next to nothing there. A lot of my design skills were just inheirant or self-taught in some way. Still, I'm at the Bachelors level in that. I know I have some decent abilities, but I don't feel that I know enough to really be as good as what I want to do as I should be. I think I have a good design sense and am certainly capable of technical things, but definitely not at the level I think I should be. There's this really large fear I have that I'm not going to be marketable at all with the level of things I've learned in school. At the same time, I look at some of the stuff people actually get paid to do and wind up feeling a lot better about myself. And really, when can I ever really know enough? There's always something else out there. Sometimes I think I don't even want to stick with computers at all though. Can I really see myself sitting at a screen the rest of my life? Sometimes I feel like I'd be better off working with animals, but it's kind of late for that. I'm tired of feeling like I'm the only one in this situation. Everyone else I personally know seems to have some good feel as to what they're going after and what they're capable of. I feel more lost know than I did when I was first trying to pick out colleges when I was in high school. I feel like I'm too old to even be thinking about these things anymore, but I've got at least another 50 years to live if I'm lucky. Another large part of me hates the fact that I have to live within this structurized machine in the first place. There's just so many contradictions within everything. What I'm getting at is, really, how happy are people where they are in terms of schooling? Did you really bother to research ahead of time as much as you should have? Do you feel like you've actually learned enough in school to get the job you want (or will by the time you're done with your current plan, anyway)? Do you think you'll have to go somewhere else later?

When I was younger I always wanted to use the name "Urban Decay". Of course, now that's some sort of make-up line, so who knows if anyone wants to use it. My only other suggestion is one I'm using for a project I'm working on... assuming it ever gets released lol. I guess I can't mention it here, I don't want it taken :D

I only pay around $8 a bottle for Special Effects... But I don't go to Hot Topic for it. I assume it would be most expensive there. I go to a local place. You might even want to try eBay. I've gotten quite a bit off there for next to nothing. ArunueShekamari - I really like that color in your second picture. I can't even make it out in the first one, lol.

Same reason I go to any forum really. I don't particularly love the place, but it's a nice diversion from other things. Every so often there's a thread that really interests me, moreso than a lot of the other ones I visit where I feel like nothing happens for days... that or the place just is full of arguments. I don't really find that to be an issue here, at least with the areas I tend to go to. I have a good number of friends here and a bunch of other people I don't really know, but whose posts and such I like reading. Most of what keeps me here, really, are people I already talk to elsewhere now anyway.
. Right now I'm looking at [b]Atomic Pink and Cupcake Pink by Special Effects[/b']. It's supposed to last really long, but that's why I'm concerned. According to a ton of customer reviews, once you do this pink, it'll be long before you can change it.
That's what I used last, Cupcake Pink (Picture). It's a great color. How long it lasts really depends on how you use it. With most Special Effects stuff, if you bleach throroughly, it's going to last a pretty damn long time for a color of its type. I bleached a little, mostly the top area and that pink was in there for months (I had to cut off the remainder of it, it just wasn't fading). The stuff where I didn't bleach didn't last nearly as long. It seriously sounds like you're doing this stuff too often though, if I'm reading this right. You're going to wind up scorching your hair.

Queen is one of those groups that I feel have a lot of great songs, but then even more that I never, ever want to listen to. For every Stone Cold Crazy or Killer Queen, there's a CD full of stuff that just doesn't interest me in the slightest. I'm sure I'm not in the majority with this opinion, but who knows. I absolutely love The Who. They have great energy and a lot of just pure classic albums. It's a shame that even the supposedly "remastered" versions of their albums still sound pretty poorly recorded, but I guess that's also part of the appeal. The Doors are another group I'm really into. I own all of their LPs, although some are better than others. They have some amazingly good radio singles, but I think the band is far more effective if you listen to the entire albums. Why this group is on Blender's worst acts of all time list, I have no idea (I hate that freaking magazine)... Probably because they're mad they're not a British band. Rush are amazing. I think a lot of people brush them off because of the vocals. I know a lot of people who just find them annoying and that's the end of it... personally I don't mind them. Writing is excellent, as is the music itself. They have a pretty large amount of albums that I think are great and only a handful of average ones, really. Blue Oyster Cult is another great one. I know a lot of people are familiar with a few of their singles (Don't Fear the Reaper). Secret Treaties is one of the best rock albums ever made, period. There's also Bowie, who for some reason or another I don't really equate with "classic rock" simply because he somehow remains relevent in every decade thanks to his changing sounds and images. I also listen to a lot of AC/DC, T. Rex, Judas Priest, Mott the Hoople, Aerosmith, The Alan Parsons Project, Jefferson Airplane, Beach Boys (hey, I think they fit lol), Echo and the Bunnymen, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc etc etc.

Is It Really Wrong To Have Peoples In Your Head?
Semjaza replied to Latharix_sama's topic in General Discussion
I think it depends how often these things are talking to you and what exactly they're saying. Imagination is one thing, but beyond that... :animesigh -
This was suggested way, way back. I remember the answer being more or less that it was probably possible, but it would require some sort of custom hack that wasn't yet out there and would take too long to come up with otherwise. If things have changed since then, I have no idea.

There are brushes out there that are more or less texturizers in a sense. Not all brushes are of the type that will give super specific shapes like the ones used in your example. I would think the former would be useful to you... Unfortunately, I recently reformatted and don't have any of mine to share anymore lol.
Alright, I'm about 41% through the game now, with 15 or so hours clocked in (I really haven't gotten a many chances to play it lately, what with school work and college stuff), and I just got the Dark Visor. I'm looking around and seeing all of these things that require Denzium to destroy, and I'm thinking.. how much longer until I get the power bomb? It's not too big a deal, but if someone could give me an estimate, it would be greatly appreciated. ^_^
I would normally say not that long, but since it took you 15 hours to get to where you are, it might be awhile :P It's not too much longer, seriously lol.

Where I live, apparently the PBS channel owns the rights to broadcasting it. I've never seen them air a single episode. I have no clue where I'd see it otherwise, although my uncle has a bunch of tapes of it.

I think it looks nice aside from what I assume are sword hilts (I don't do poetry lol). They look a bit too cartoony, likely because they don't have any color that would give you the idea of light hitting it. That would be fine if the ground surrounding them was also a flat black, but it isn't. It could also be their roundness. My eyes go directly to them as soon as I look at this image; they just seem out of place. Anyway, that's my constructive criticism.
