Originally posted by Nerdsy I really like Supertramp, but no one I know's heard of them. Don't have the slightest clue if they''re well known elsewhere, heh. Also, one that I haven't heard a lot about is Junior Senior. I supposed not many people really would, as they are a techno/dance band, I guess.
Supertramp was fairly well known at one point. I think you're just a little young compared to most of their fans heh. I'm sure most people here are familiar with a few of their songs. I know there are a few Junior Senior fans here though. I posted about their CD on my site, actually. You're not alone, especially since D-D-Don't Stop the Beat is being critically looked upon as one of the better CDs this year.

In the Little Mermaid it's definitely clear what it is. They show that priest from a few angles, and when you see him from the front you can tell it's his knobby little knees that are bent down. When it spins to the side view, that's when some idiot was like "oh, it looks like..." and that was that. Despite it being proved to the contrary so many other times, it's still spoken of as if it was something else. In any case, this is OLD news. We're talking stuff that was known almost right after the movies came out... which was way in the 90s.
Originally posted by The (Sic) Shape Marilyn Manson-The Love Song: Makes me think about my ex-girlfriend becuase we were both hard rock fans and this was our love song.
That's odd considering it isn't even really about actual "love" lol. But whatever works, works heh.

Thank god for CBshin and Dagger, because otherwise this thread would have been closed very quickly. OutlawKFK, please improve on your post quality and add a bit more to your discussion in the future (especially on ones you start). Thanks.

It takes some adjusting. A controls one and B controls the other. At times you'll have to use L or R to switch the actions of Mario and Luigi (normal jumps to screw jumps, for example). However, you'll get used to this after a bit of time.

^^^ That is simply excellent. I'm incredibly surprised that they were even mentioned here, yet alone getting some responses heh. You already beat out my old Butthole Surfers and The Soundtrack of Our Lives threads, and they're both more popular than these guys. Anyway, they're a great band. I don't give them as much time or credit as I should, I'll admit. I don't really think the "Christian" moniker applies, though... it's just folksy rock, really. There are other genres thrown in from time to time.

Well, yeah, it's obviously a flashback lol. I severely doubt they'd do the same exact scene twice for basically no reason.

Movies you plan on seeing during winter break
Semjaza replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
All I really want to see is Die Mommy Die, but I can never find the one theater here that plays it. Oh well. If anyone names Calendar Girls, I'll have to assume they're insane. Even if I was given a death threat I wouldn't see a movie about a bunch of old women posting for a nude calendar. Vomit enducing. -
The Viera looks better ingame, I'd say. You can tell that there is a polygon drop in some of these images, at least in the backgrounds and with that T-Rex. The character faces are improved though, rather obviously I think. The one shot of them all running in the desert is rather impressive, as it seems to signal a vast world to run around rather than the "tunnels" in FFX that I hated. I never got the attraction. It looked like a clump of old carpet with a beak and sounded like an old woman trying to poorly impersonate Steve Urkel. That's cute?
Originally posted by Charles Phew. And that is the most satisfying two seconds I've ever had. Merry Christmas BS! ^_^;;
Thank you. Now it truly is a forum for non-useless things. (zing! heh) I still cannot figure out what point he was trying to make by that post, but what else is new. I guess his usual misspellings didn't help matters either. I think I was supposed to act hurt and bow before his intelligence. Someone else mentioned SBC Yahoo, I believe. The bulk folder is quite useful as it receives all e-mail that is known to be from possible spam source. You can view it if you log on through Yahoo, but it doesn't download with normal mail programs. Only problem with this is that an order confirmation I was waiting for from Best Buy's site was kept in the Bulk folder.

Let's not mention the the irony in complaining about people who complain, though. Spending another two minutes to do that is more justifiable, obviously. The issue is that it's unsolicited. You're not supposed to be getting it in the first place, as James said. Also, when I was on AOL years back I used to get so much spam that there wasn't even ROOM for the legitimate e-mail I actually needed sometimes. It's obviously a problem or government agencies wouldn't be getting involved.
-
At first I just thought this was a simple annoyance that Shy took care of, but this is a bit much. OB isn't that massive that you need to post the same thing all over the place. He already set up a petitions thread in Anime Lounge on top of that. Please refrain from doing this in the future.
-
This game sounds less and less interesting the more I read about it.
-
A law was recently passed (as in the past week) that makes unsolicited e-mails basically illegal. I forget the site exactly, but you forward those e-mails to them and they are added to their list of people to go after. It's some government site. I guess this should take care of a lot of the spam I get. I get very little, but what I do get doesn't let me unsubscribe. The link doesn't work or if you try to reply it tells you the e-mail doesn't exist, etc.
December 16, 2003 - Nintendo of America today announced that sales of its GameCube console were through the roof for the month of November. The company also revealed that Mario Kart: Double Dash!! was the number-one selling game for the busy holiday shopping period. According to TRSTS data, 754,000 GameCubes were sold during the month of November. This is particularly good news as it proves that the recent $99 price reduction is continuing to spur sales. Though GameCube sales failed to outperform that of Sony's, which sold 850,000 PlayStation 2s, Nintendo did seriously one-up Xbox sales for the month. Microsoft's console sold through only 490,000 units. Just as important, Nintendo's flagship GameCube title for the holidays, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, was the number-one selling game in November with 528,000 units sold. This figure is made all the more impressive because the racer was out available for only two weeks of the month. Game Boy Advance, meanwhile, sold through 1.3 million units in November, easily besting everything else out there.
So there's the November sales numbers.

New scan for those who care. The bottom right is of interest.

I don't have a set pattern. My main problem is that I stay up so late that I wind up sleeping in the next day. Then I feel like I've wasted half my day, so I stay up late again. You get the picture. It's a cycle, and a very bad one at that. It doesn't work when I have school the next day, but I wind up staying up late anyway. I feel I do my best work late at night.

Anything with Bruce Campbell automatically rocks anyway. I agree there is too much computer rendering though, as it looks incredibly obvious. However, the movie isn't due out for several months yet... I expect most of it to get fixed up. Really, what can you expect though? It's not as if there's anyone in real life that can pull off Spider-Man's normal stunts. Even wires wouldn't work too well. This is just a teaser trailer. It's not a theatrical one. You can't expect the same things.

I didn't get one. I hate wearing rings. I feel like I'll never get them off, so I don't even bother.

You know, almost all of the humor here is lost when the original post doesn't have the links included. When you read the original article and check out the links included, you'll realize what a joke it is... Otherwise it kind of just seems like another random idiot, which isn't uncommon. I didn't visit the link originally, which is my fault anyway lol.

Who the hell would be familiar with Lunix? It stands for "Little Unix" and runs on Commodore 64/128 computers. I severely doubt anyone this guy is talking about would have that. He's probably trying to say "Linux", but is simply very misinformed... which means he shouldn't be writing this in the first place. He fails to realize even on a basic level that Linux is a very viable OS right now. It sounds like he just took random things his son used on his computer and is applying them as reasons why people would hack. The problem is that not everyone is his son. Somehow I doubt his hacking is anything more than downloading cracks off Kazaa. I don't know why anyone would download Comet Cursor anyway. Maybe if you didn't care about the stability of your PC... [edit] Even keeping in mind that it's a joke, I really don't find it very funny lol. I've met people who know less than this, it seems. My sister downloads tons of music off Kazaa, but doesn't even know what a MP3 is for example heh.[/edit]

Well, I personally didn't make that assumption lol. We were on the same page it seems. People like comparing Japanese animated films to random, inexpensive Saturday morning animation. Japanese animation in general cuts a lot of corners. Frame skips, entire scenes with nearly no animation, background shortcuts (I've seen countless anime where the background in a scene is static, despite there being crowds of people in it for example). I assume mostly to keep costs down. Again, I think a lot of the people who complain about Western animation just are making poor comparisons. At least use comparable shows so it remains fair. They usually prefer Japanese styles as well. There are a couple posts in here claiming that basically all US animation is worse than all Japanese animation... and they really have nothing to back them up other than personal preference. Japan has countless poorly animated shows and such. The thing is, most people watch the same standard anime, so it's not even an issue. If we got all the stuff Japan did, I doubt people would feel that way. They'd have a more well-rounded idea of what anime has to offer.

First of all, I'd direct you here: http://www.otakuboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=69: Read them. They're the rules. Your post quality is a little less than desirable. More has to be said than "I hear it's good!" Secondly, we have a Square forum. FFXI is already being talked about there. The Square forum is here: http://www.otakuboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=16 And thirdly, don't post random images for no reason. Thanks.

Why in the world would someone think an athiest was a satanist? Athiests don't believe in any sort of religious figure. I don't know how someone could decide to be a Wiccan (or anything, really)when they're that ignorant of other religions and philosophies. Anyway, listen to cloricus on this one. We've had seemingly countless threads on this subject. Search out the most recent one.
