    Xbox 360

It's technically not called anything yet. Xbox Next is just what it is referred to as in its current state. GameCube was called Dolphin and Dreamcast was called Katana, for example. MS stuck with the name Xbox the entire time though, so if they are officially referring to it as Xbox Next... they'll probably leave it like that lol. Original thinking, I guess. No one updates consoles like that. This isn't the PC community and I doubt that idea would ever go over very well. I'd expect it to be bought at the store once it comes out, just like every other console in history. Add-ons have never succeeded in the console market, and this will most likely not be looked upon any differently. The markets cannot be compared in this way as they've been built very differently, and if MS tries this approach I'd expect it wouldn't go over very well. The Xbox processor speed is currently something like 733 Mhz anyway, but obviously there is a difference between some Pentium III chip and a PowerPC chip. Who knows about the card... but it's interesting that ATI is providing both the next MS and Nintendo consoles with cards. Although I expect the ArtX team will be working for Nintendo again (and they're largely looked on in better light than the other ATI teams -- a lot of the stuff they're trying to do wouldn't even be possible without their acquisition of ArtX). I wouldn't say only 20% of the Xbox has been taken advantage of. That seems almost ridiculous considering some of the stuff it cannot even manage to do now. Of course, it's not near 100% either and the developers can't really code to the metal like they theoretically can with PS2 or GCN thanks to Direct X. In any case, we'll see what happens. I'm not terribly excited about any of these yet.

Sam & Max is just one of those old games that I really enjoyed. I am so annoyed that Full Throttle 2 has been cancelled...I can't tell you how much that disappoints me. I think those games were probably underrated, if anything. ~_^[/color] [/B][/QUOTE] If you cared for FT, you shouldn't be disappointed. That game was looking terrible and was apparently cancelled for good reason. Good riddance, in my opinion. I'll wait for them to make a good sequel... and if they don't, then fine. I don't want them to ruin my memories lol.
  3. If you wanted help, you should have PMed someone in the first place. Not made a reply to a really old thread that had absolutely nothing to do with what you are asking. You want to make a new thread? Look for this button: [img]http://www.otakuboards.com/images/newthread.gif[/img] Click it, fill out the forms on the page that loads and submit. That's all. In the future please go here first: [url]http://www.otakuboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=69[/url] There are good expanations on how to most anything here in there.
  4. Yeah. It is off Pinkerton. It's called Pink Triangle, pretty surprising lol. That's not their latest at all, though. I'm not a big fan. Strangely, my last three girlfriends were all big Weezer fans. I even got one an autographed guitar for Christmas. Getting that was hell. Pinkerton is their best release in my opinion... although it's not something I listen to often. I think it's more of a listen-all-the-way-through kind of album, while the others you can kind of just play any random song off of them and that's enough. They do what they do well and I admit they have some really good songs, but they're not for me overall.

His reasoning makes sense to me, but I'm hardly amused or remotely interested in this game.

    Kill Hannah

All I know is that my girlfriend loves them... although she's not talked about them in a long time. That's about as far as my interest goes. I never bothered to look into it because her and I generally do not agree on music whatsoever.
  7. The day after Thanksgiving Walmart is selling GCs with the Zelda Bundle disc for $79.94. One day only. Apparently there are some conversion issues with the port of Majora... sound hiccups, but no graphics issues.
  8. I know that because that's what the article says. The lost art of reading? :p
  9. I think all you really need to do is look around this forum and realize that there are no other threads like this that are opened. There are no other posts like yours that weren't quoted by a mod in a warning post. So just read the the rules and you'll be all set. 10. I thought I posted in this ancient thread, but I guess not. Currently I'll go with Falling Away With You by Muse. Otherwise, I usually go with Sweet Tooth by Marilyn Manson.
  11. Raids in and of themselves aren't so bad... but I wonder what I'd think or feel in that situation. Guys in what looks like riot gear bust into your school, put a gun to your head and yell at you while dogs go crazy? Part of me would wonder how legit the whole thing even was, despite the fact that I'd obviously comply. Most kids in high school cannot even be tried as an adult... holding guns against their heads seems a bit excessive to me.

  13. [url]http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/11/07/national/main582492.shtml[/url] [QUOTE] (CBS) Gun-toting police burst into a South Carolina high school, ordering students to lie down in hall ways as they searched for drugs. The commando-style raid has parents questioning the wisdom of police tactics. The raid occurred Wednesday at Stratford High School in Goose Creek, S.C. Surveillance video obtained by CBS Affiliate WCSC in Charleston shows the police waving their guns and searching lockers as students lie flat on their stomachs or sides. The school's principal defends the dramatic sweep, caught on the school's surveillance tape. Police came into the school with guns at the ready, ordered all students to lie on the floor and then handcuffed anyone who apparently didn't comply quickly enough. "We received reports from staff members and students that there was a lot of drug activity. Recently we busted a student for having over 300 plus prescription pills. The volume and the amount of marijuana coming into the school is unacceptable," said principal George McCrackin. Police didn't find any criminals in the armed sweep, but they say K-9 dogs smelled drugs on a dozen backpacks. Goose Creek police and school administrators defend the draconian measures as necessary for crime prevention. The parents of some students who were subjected to the sweep disagree. "I was just upset knowing they had guns put to their head and a K9 was barking at them and about to bite somebody. It was awful," parent Latonia Simmons told WCSC. The Post And Courier newspaper in Charleston reports the high school is one of the largest in the state with 2,760 students. It has an academic reputation as one of the Lowcountry's best. The paper quoted Lt. Dave Aarons of the Goose Creek Police Department as saying that the suspected drug dealers appeared to be knowledgeable about where the school surveillance cameras were. He said he watched school surveillance tapes from four days that showed students congregating under cameras, periodically walking into a bathroom with different students and coming out moments later. "They know where the cameras are. If they stand directly under them, the camera's don't look directly down,'' Aarons told the paper. [/QUOTE] I was just wondering what people thought of this and their tactics. Surprisingly, I've not heard much about this despite its extremity... all that for weed. 14. You need the embed command to even use those sorts of items. That doesn't exist here on OB. All you have is the IMG tag, and to my knowledge you can only use it with PHP and IMG links. I can tell you right now that if you somehow manage to get around that and post a banner with music, people will want to kill you. I'll be one of them.
  15. That's why you just cut him out of the picture entirely. Tell someone else that does get through to him... obviously some sort of authority figure.
  16. Well as hard as that was to read due to the fact that it's totally stream of consciousness and poorly spaced... No, you're not. He's trying to take advantage of you and I don't know why you'd feel you were the one in the wrong. Tell him no, get him off of you and hopefully that will be that. If you don't do something to stop him, he just won't.
  17. [COLOR=royalblue]Teehee... e-mail forwards!! ^^[/COLOR] I really don't think this is something that will result in any decent conversation here, so I'll be closing it. Sorry, my friend. I also fixed the title. Please don't use caps in a title because it's FREAKING OBNOXIOUS. See?
  18. I can't remember... but I think Shamanic Princess is one of those anime I reviewed for theOtaku's review section when it was still up. Should return eventually. Jin-Roh is excellent. The first half is incredibly slow and can be hard to follow... but the second half is simply amazing. Some of the stuff that happened in it was just really surprising and genuinely sad. I always thought Roujin Z was underrated. It's from the guy responsible for Akira, and arguably a much better film. It's worth seeing if you haven't. Basically about a posessed healthcare machine. Other than that... Hale Nochi Guu, but that's not even officially out in the US yet.
  19. I've had that problem as well... Sometimes it's unavoidable because many people have their monitors calibrated incorrectly. There's almost always some sort of color difference, albeit it marginal, for whatever reason. All you can really do is make sure your copy of Photoshop has its color settings set at Adobe RGB (and that you change anything else you import. That and obviously working in RGB and not CMYK... the rest is kind of just up in the air, it seems lol. Recent additions is always a good idea for a site of this type, I'd say.
  20. There isn't even any historical proof that Magdalene was a prostitute. Most people think that was a thanks to Pope Gregory intentionally changing her persona to fit the popular opinion at the time. A lot of people simply came to the conclusion that she was a prostitute and confused her with a couple other people mentioned in the Bible. Specifically the sinner who annointed Jesus's feet. They aren't the same person. Whether or not they were married? Who knows. Marriage [i]doesn't equate to sex[/i]. Magdalene is referred to as Jesus's companion and consort of the Gospel of Phillip, but who knows what that really means. Same deal with Jesus kissing her on the lips in the same Gospel. You can go anywhere you want with this stuff. There is no real definitive thing that tells you one way or the other. I'd have to assume a lot of the marriage ideas are merely figurative. The main importance of Mary Magdalene is obviously that she was the one that told the Disciples about the resurrection of Christ, which they then spread to others. The rest of it is simply irrelvent, in my opinion, and I'm not even a religious person. So, all this other stuff is nonsense, in my opinion. It's something that is entrenched in people's beliefs already because of years of misunderstanding. Most people think that Satan was actually called Lucifer in Heaven and had some sort of name change when he fell to Hell... so who I can believe and who I cannot is a very arbitrary line at times. Lucifer in the Bible refers to a fallen king, similiar the Luciferus in mythology. Satan was always Satan. So really, it's all a mess.
  21. Looks excellent, I'd say. I would honestly like to see a full size of it though, because, for me at least, the resizing of the text is rather distracting. The use of of various shades of one color is great, I have no complaints there. Nothing blends in too much, it all stays how it should. The image placement is also nice... especially because you totally avoid the problem I feel many people here have: stuffing way too many pics into one place. You've never done that though, to my knowledge, so whatever heh. I really like what you did with the text up top as well. Did you also design the current layout? I really like how that turned out as well. It's very calming and subdued. Pulled that off really damn well, if so. The only complaint I have with the current layout is that it totally hates Mozilla, but I assume that's thanks to the webmaster and not you heh. Really nice job. I rarely ever have nothing but good things to say about something, but I really like how this turned out.
  22. Personally, I do my borders before I even do the rest of the image. If I add the borders last, it generally conflicts with the image I made... especially in smaller banners where a space of one pixel is rather important. In that case, it really doesn't matter what you do, although the stroke option can obviously be used.
  23. Mass-Masscre and .h4ck, please work on your posting. Stuff like "That's good" simply isn't worth posting. It's considered spam here and won't get you on anyone's good side. Please try to add a bit more of importance next time. Thanks.
  24. I think you could always whip out your privates in public. That's always fun, but not really legal. That'd get the best reactions heh.
  25. Except cheaters rarely do accept consequences. They try and cheat their way out of those situations too. Most of my friends are girls at this point, and I can tell you right out that they are attracted to random guys just as much as guys are attracted to random girls. It cannot be avoided. You cannot put on blockers and only see that girl, although I suppose you could be that infatuated at some point heh. The difference is really knowing your priorites. Do you care about that person so little that you'd actually act upon that core desire? I'd say most men wouldn't, but almost as many would. I think most men and women, despite being attracted to other people, know that it's just an attraction and isn't the same thing as actually caring for or loving the person they are with. There's always that distinction. Everyone is tempted by things, it's just how people are with their imaginations and such. But how far are they willing to go with it? So self control goes a long way. If everyone gave into those banal desires everyone would be ******* everyone else that they thought looked good.
