1. Well, I think if one title is easily available around your area, that title qualifies for being mainstream. IMHO it's just based on location. For example, Rurouni Kenshi is considered quite mainstream in my country since it was shown three times over two different stations while Outlaw Star isn't. I'm not against mainstream anime. But sometimes people who act like they know everything about anime are just annoying.
2. Haven't really read the manga. Just saw some shots of it. But some of my friends have read it and they say it was totally different from the movie and anime. :) I did see the series though. It's quite different from the movie. The storyline didn't follow that of the movie. For one thing it was wayyyyyyy better. More character development, more fight scenes plus a much more complex storyline that would surprise almost anyone.

Chobits

Just saw the first eight episodes of Chobits. I love it!!! Thank you CLAMP!!! Chii and Sumomo just gets cuter every episode.
4. Lots of blood and gore. Great fight scenes. Sadly, there just wasn't enough time allotted to the whole thing. If you want to know what X really is, read the manga or watch the series. The movie just seemed like one big teaser.
5. I'm in college. School starts roughly at 2:30 pm and ends at 9:00 pm. It's one big adventure for me.
6. There's nothing wrong with being a cross-dresser - Nobody said it was wrong. Love is love is love. - I wish everybody could be as open-minded as you. The fact is most of us would cringe to the idea of it. It does not attack them, it re-shapes them to fit it's needs. - Attack was a bad word for me to use. It should have been challenges. - Maybe you should see it first. That's the way most animes are - They didn't even finish the whole storyline. A usual anime series is 26 episodes long. This one was about 3 or 4.
7. Some other rare ones I haven't finished yet 1. WeiB Kreuz 2. Kanon 3. Full Metal Panic 4. Wild Arms Twilight Venom 5. Arc the Lad
8. Very twisted indeed. Here's another one of those anime that attacks the fundamentals of Christianity. The incest part was really unacceptable for me. But it was too short to make any major impact so I'll probably forget about it after a few months.
9. That's what you get when you try to compress a manga series which is not yet complete into a 1 hour movie. A person dies..... so what!? I really wish I had the manga...
10. Actually I didn't see FOX's version. I saw the fansub with all the liquor and all the fighting. It still didn't have any appeal to me. It must be the art (and the awfully long noses). :hehehehe: But I'm the weird type, I really don't conform. So don't take my word for it.
11. Kinda overrated for me. Sure the mecha design was fantastic, but I really didn't really feel for anyone. Kinda stale for my taste. But I know lots of people love this one so who am I to say anything against it?

Kinda agree with Sensei-san. It really offers nothing new. Sorry but I'm just tired of all them magical girls type of animes.
13. Another one of CLAMP's masterpieces. Lots of bishounen and bishoujo just adds up to this already wonderful series. So what did you think of it?
14. Lain was definitely confusing. Usually when I get bored, lost or confused with the first volume I would leave it for later. This is probably why I didn't continue on with the whole series. Other things I left behind due to too much plot complexities were FLCL and Gasaraki.
15. I liked it just because of it's comedic factor. The plot was nothing new and the characters were not much (both based on art and personality) but it seems that Captain Tylor was able to captivate my attention. Saw both the series and OAV. The OAV kinda left you hanging.

It's one of them soujo anime series (more similar to that of sailormoon). It's your typical monster-of-the-day animes. It's nothing much. Basically they have the same plot as sailor moon (except they now have to transform into wedding dresses before wearing their battle costumes.) Nothing much to say about it, kinda silly IMHO.
17. Everybody is funny! Even if the part tends to be serious, they find a way to make it hilarious. The movies and OAVs were also quite excellent even though the rest of the gang wasn't there. I'm just waiting for the latest movie when they all reunite. On a more personal note, my favorite character was Xellos. Cool but cunning, perfect for those demon personalities.
18. I love Rayearth (probably it was the only good anime I saw when I was just in elementary). Sure it's shoujo but what the hell! It's good (muchbetter than sailor moon IMHO). Cool armor, enemies, art, mecha, chicks, etc. It's everything I love from CLAMP.
19. They probably get discounts on those wide funny looking hats and stuff. Do all vampires need to wear dark, gothic clothing? Oh yeah. I just want to say that Alucard's gun is cool! I wonder if he's gonna get new bullets or accessories for that piece of art.
20. Def_Kun was a shortened Defective Cunanan which was taken from Detective Conan (one of the cheeziest anime shows I've seen). This was supposed to be a joke but I kinda got used to it so I decided to keep it anyway. Avatar: Vincent since I couldn't use my own yet so I'll have to be patient.
21. I just saw the first two episodes. It looks promising but after watching Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust I got tired of the vampire hunter plot. The violence and art was terrific though. Thought to ponder on: Do all vampire hunters have this weird taste for fashion? :)
22. I'll just post my top 5 songs. 1. Kiseki no Hana (Initial D) 2. Hikari naki Yoru wo Yuke (Ayatsuri Sakon) 3. eX Dream (X TV) 4. Keep on Calling (Fatal Fury II) 5. Depend on You (Thousand Arms) - do games count?
23. If your were left stumped after the series the movie might resolve that. The problem is that the movie would even stump you more. It's not really as philosophical as Evangelion but it is kinda mature compared to the series (less humor more action). I still do prefer the series over the movie though.
24. What I like most about Fruits Basket is that it isn't much of a love story at all (compared to FY and Marmalade Boy). There really isn't one prominent couple among the group and they seem to just squeeze the cheezy parts to support the storyline. It's more about the relationships between the characters and how the complement each other, just like one big happy family. My biggest gripe, they edited some cute scenes from the manga (the two other Souma family members).
25.
Originally posted by Mist Take Superman. He's very angular and big, a hulking figure who looks like an abnormal freak. Put a regular shirt on him, and he looks freakishly large.
K I really don't know if this is true. I just heard this from one of the speakers in one of our anime club gatherings. He said that American superheroes like Batman and Superman are quite handsome over there in Japan. Since most of what they see are anime style drawings, a man with a square jaw and muscular brute is considered a hottie fellow. I just believe whether you like anime or American animation is based on what is more rare to the region. And really, Disney isn't that bad. They still do produce some well developed titles and storylines for people of all ages.
