1. (In no particular order.) .:Coldplay:. Not only is Chris Martin's voice amazing, I love the music and lyrics, too. The lyrics don't always make sense, but I always get a clear image in my mind each time I hear their songs. I got into them during the fall-ish last year, but until then, I couldn't stand them. After actually sitting down and listening to an entire song, I fell completely in love with them and went right off to mass-download a bunch of their music. Really great. Listening to their songs just make me feel a lot better. 1) Don't Panic. 2) A Rush of Blood to the Head. 3) The Scientist (Acoustic). 4) Trouble. 5) Amsterdam. .:Muse:. A refreshingly different mood, and Matt's voice is just- *melts* brilliant. Their songs are also really fun to sing. Uhm, I got 'introduced' while reading Red/Ger's blog, and decided to check out some of the songs he mentioned. One of them was 'Time is Running Out', and from there, mass downloading and instant love for the band. ^_^ 1) Unintended. 2) Can't Take My Eyes Off You. 3) Falling Away With You. 4) Overdue. 5) Sunburn. .:The Cardigans:. Uhm, they're classified as 'One Hit Wonders' for their song 'Lovefool', but I really liked Nina's voice, so I went looking for a few more of their songs. She has a really soft voice, and I absolutely love it. The lyrics aren't awesome, but I love the music, and they just won't get out of my head! 1) For What It's Worth. 2) My Favourite Game. 3) You're The Storm. 4) Communication. 5) Erase and Rewind. .:Radiohead:. Ahhh... Thom's got such an amazing voice. They've got a unique sound, and their songs are very different in (erm) colour-vibration (
 2.
I want about ten boys to carry on my name. So yes, I would.
Lmao. That's how it'd be in Asia. - .-; I would never want to pick the sex of my child. I mean, isn't that part of the excitement of having a child? -as DeathBug, Josh, and others have said- 'Unconditional Love'. 'The Giver' just comes to mind, where they just arrange people into family units with one son, one daughter, one mom, and one dad. It's just too... eh. But already, in China (was it...) one million boys will end up single in ten-twenty years from now.
 3. *picky* Physical Attractiveness: 1) Friendly eyes. Very important. I notice eyes first, and they have to have this warmth and the ability to (erm) stay in one place, lol. I don't trust people who can't keep eye contact. (Think Andy Roddick's eyes. They're all over the place. -____-) 2) Smile. I hate it when guys think it's cool not to smile. *twitch* 3) Hands. No clue why, but I'm obsessed with nice hands. @_@; When I remember like, a friend or relative, I always remember how their hands felt. Strange. 4) Height. Okay, they have to be taller than me. Part of the type of build I find more attractive. 5) Slim build. Build isn't QUITE as important, but I definitely prefer guys with a willowy figure than guys with like, a six-pack and huge muscles/tan. 6) Hair/Eye Colour. Preferably dark. 7) Clothes. Not that big of a deal, just not 'ghetto' or 'punk'. Just something laid back. Non-Physical Attractiveness: 1) Humour. MUST have sense of humour. I love laughing, and the guy must laugh a lot. *nods* 2) Communication. Obviously. We should be able to talk about problems openly, and listen to each other's point of view, etc, etc, while also having to have comfy conversations without feeling uncomfortable/always pausing and thinking what to say next. 3) Intelligence. No offense, but I'm not going out with someone who doesn't take education seriously. 4) Open-mindedness/Love for the arts. 5) Singing. I loooove singing, and it'd be a HUGE plus if he could sing/liked singing. Or, at least play an instrument. ^^ 6) Respect. Someone who respects women and doesn't worry so much about being all 'tough' in front of his friends and such. 7) Consistancy. I don't like unpredictable people. That doesn't mean like, spontaneous-wise, but just personality-wise. I can't stand people with 'two faces' who change suddenly depending on what group of people they're with. 8) Same political views. 9) Loves pets/plants-and such. 10) Laid-back personality. Someone who's sure of themselves and don't worry all the time about what other people think, and don't try too hard to be something they're not. 11) Being able to cook. I can't cook for craps, soo. x_x 12) Modesty. 13) Similar taste in music. Pretty please? 14) Similar circle of friends. Turn-Offs: 1) Guys who think that they're a 'pimp'. Oh, come off it. 2) Guys who lie. ("Appearance doesn't matter at all."
 4. Apparently, we don't get soccer/football here in the US, though, so my dad and I have to flip over to the Mexican channel to watch Korean matches. ...And that sucks A LOT, because we can't see any other teams play besides teams linked with Mexico. So I haven't a clue what's going on otherwise, but I haven't really looked online anyway. It seems like the only events we get to see are figure skating, gymnastics, and swimming. (That are highly publicized, anyway). Soooo... I haven't been paying much attention to the Olympics this year. =/
 5. Jet's a fun band, but 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl' gets annoying just the second time I hear it in a day, same deal with 'Cold Hard B****' and 'Take it or Leave it'. ...And I don't know what the other songs I downloaded are called, because they all sound terribly alike and it's hard for me to tell which is playing at the time. But then again, I haven't been into rock very much for the past year now. Last year, I would've liked Jet a lot, but I can't listen to a song where the lead singer screams the whole time more than once, otherwise I never want to hear it again.
 6. Well, Korea beat them in the World Cup last time. That might've been a sign... But I totally thought France would win. In World Cup 1998, wasn't it France and Brazil at the final match? *can't remember* Anywho, about Becks, he is a bit overrated- though he IS gorgeous. It's just that he's got his own movie named after him, and the fact he's got a famous wife. But he's not THAT bad. I mean, he wasn't so great in Euro 2004, but there's a reason he's team captian. Sure, there's plenty better who don't get as much publicity, but that's what being a celebrity's all about. Being 'marketable'. - .-;
 7. Ronaldo annoyed the HELL out of me last night. DID YOU SEE THE LOOK ON HIS FACE AFTER HE KICKED (erm... the other guy)!??? GUH!! *sigh* I was SOOOO upset England lost last night. But I have to say James isn't exactly the best goalie out there. I mean, Portugal blocked at least ONE penalty shot, but James missed that one shot that was so... so... arrgggg. Rooney getting out was a BAD sign. If he had still been out there, I could really see England taking a victory. And when Becks missed the first penalty shot. *dies* And yeah, it was a bit weird how both teams had their two highest players out. I didn't get how Rooney was injured in the first place. I just remember his shoe falling off and as for Figo... at least he was giving a lot into it. Gosh, even though Portugal was pretty good last night, I was really surprised at how well England was moving the ball up the field the whole time. Their passes were really accurate, though I noticed this drop in confidence when Rooney was taken off. But Owen was really great on the field last night. Poor Becks and Vassell. But what's that whole thing about the ball moving? Grr. I was SHAKING last night after the game. But then, it was an awesome match. ^^;
 8. OMG!!!!! England was spectacular last night!!! ^____________^ I was so proud of them, lol. Rooney made TWO more goals last night, and that sets him as the top scorer so far. That's really amazing! Wow! I didn't really know why he was so popular until I saw it last night. That one shot he made from pretty far away... MAN! I was holding my breath the whole time. It was a really intense matched. Loved it. ^^ But their next match is Portugal... I'm a bit worried about that. As much as I support England, Portugal's going to give them a good match. Plus, the crowd will be pretty intimidating. x.x Tonight's games are: Denmark VS Sweden and Italy VS Bulgaria. Well, at least I can expect more drunk singing near the pubs tonight. Oh, and did everyone hear about the guy stabbed after the game? Prettttty freaky. ERG... I won't be in Europe to watch the final match, though. The only way you can see it in the US is on Pay-Per-View... T-T;;;;
 9.
The war was pre-emptive; there was a great debate involving the concept of "Pre-emption" prior to the war. We have records from Saddam's regime linking them financially to al queda, and evidence given to us by Russian President Vladimir Putin (who did not send support to the war) indicating the Saddam's government was planning an attack on US soil.
But do you think their attempt would've killed as many Americans as we have killed them?
How about my father being in Afghanistan, Jordan, and possible deployment status to Iraq? I assure you, he and the people he works with know exactly what they're working towards.
Like ChibiHorsewoman, I guess we've read completely different surveys and talked to different soldiers. Best wishes to your father, though.
The government has to be involved because the government decides legality, and we've all decided that marriges should fall under government jurisdiction. (They shouldn't; it should be left to churches.)
...and then have this huge religious debate instead? All I'm trying to say is that gay couples should have just as much of a right to be bound by marriage and have a ceremony just like everyone else. And plus, Dick Cheney's daughter is lesbian.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: schools were deteriorating long before President Bush came into the office. Presoident Clinton was in office for almost a decade, and he didn't fix anything. To blame President Bush alone for the school situation is foolish and misleading.
I'm not blaming it all on Bush, it's just that since his four years in office, it's been more of a landslide than deteriorating slowly.
We pay less than just about every single country in the workld for gasoline, yet we're still complaining. In Europe, their gas has been more expensive than our current levels for years, and they're sick of hearing us complain. Besides, relative to inflation, or current gas prices are nothing compared to the oil-embargo of the seventies. "All time high" my arse.
Was I comparing to the other countries? Gas prices have been going up MUCH faster than I remember it to be before he was put in office. And in the seventies, not every single household owned a car, or drove one as often as they do now. And this might be a bit off topic, but at least the other countries signed the Kyoto Protocol.
People said the same thing about the USSR. "Why challenge a totalitarian communist regime? They're always going to be there!" But, guess what? They weren't. Part of the reason was that people don't like to live under totalitarian communist regimes, and will break from them if the opportunity is presented. Another part is that the system itself was horribly flawed, crippling the Soviet Union from within. the final piece of the puzzle was a president who said, "Hey, why don't we try to win the Cold War, instead of accepting co-existance with an empire that would destroy us?"
But the thing is, could Al Queda alone destroy the US? Saddam Hussein was/is a terrible person, and I'm glad he's out of power. However, from recent polls I've seen (maybe you've been seeing different results here as well) more Iraqis say that they felt that they were better off beforet the war. Especially since we're pulling out before doing what we promised and setting them up with a stable democracy. But as for 9/11, the Bush Administration already knew about the planned attack and yet did nothing. Read here for more info.
People don't like to live under the fear of terrorism. The system of government terrorists inflict upon those around them is horribly flawed. And there's a president whom, for all his faults, doesn't think we should just accept terrorism, but that we should eliminate it.
Terrorism itself is a concept that will always be around, whether with the support of a nation or not.
Examples?
Someone could write a book about this. As for a few examples, the Bush Administration pledged $15 billion to help the world fight AIDS. He also promised to 'fully fund' a Low Income Home programme and instead, cut it by $300 million.
 10. Well, I've cried during a lot of movies. o_o; Thirteen: I have never, ever cried so hard as in this movie- but maybe it's simply because I can relate to it- not meaning the things Tracy does, but the relationship with her mom and how they grew apart for so long and in one moment, everything changes in a way that teens really wouldn't expect. Not only was the acting flawless, but this was a film that really, really touched me. I cried REALLY hard, and so did Celia. -.o Moulin Rouge: On of the best films ever, in my opinion. Not to mention the best and most memorable ending. Iit was just heart wrenching- but brilliant how
during the 'Come What May' finale, everything was perfect, and it seemed as if it was going to be a happily ever after ending, and you can't help but feel REALLY happy for them. But after all that happiness and feeling as if everything was going to be okay, Satine dies.
So it's like, imagine going through such an emotional rollercoaster, reaching the highest you can get, and having it all fall down ten times harder. I Am Sam: Yeah, I know. Sean Penn is overacting, etc, etc. But this film was still really touching. It just shows how much you matter to your parents, and how much it means to a child to be with their parents. And even though Sam couldn't educate his daughter, he still loved her more than anything, and to Lucy (his daughter), that's all that really mattered. Lion King: Okay, who DIDN'T cry during this film? Bambi: I'm really close to my mom. To have Bambi's mom die, it was just.... o_o Pocahontas: When John Smith left. ...I was five. x.x; The Pianist: I have no idea why I cried, but when he was nearly
dead
, it was just amazing how by just thinking about doing what he loved most in his life kept him alive, and to love something so much and to be able to stay alive by the thought of it is just... yeah. Schindler's List: Well, you can't really blame me. It was horrible seeing people treat people so harshy and treat life like garbage. Another really great movie. Erm. Yeah. *emotional person*
 11. I'm supporting Denmark and England- simply because those are the countries I'm at this summer, lol. I was rooting for Holland last night because I was supposed to go to Amsterdam, but they lost to the Czech Republic. (Darn, their Goalie's good.) Man... I can't believe there's just five posts in here, though. It's huge! Ã…rhus is EMPTY during each match and it's SO quiet!! But during the day, everyone's wearing red somewhere and selling Danish flags. It's crazy- and cool. It sucks we don't get football in America. - .-;
 12. One of my friends was 'dumped' by her boyfriend because she was Jewish and he was Baptist... Religion is something not worth fighting for. It's just something every individual has a right to as long as freedom of choice exists. I consider myself a Christian, though I strongly believe in reincarnation and karma as well. However, there's nothing holy about a holy war, or anyone simply arguing about it, for that matter. So what if they don't believe in the same religion as you? The important thing is, every religion stresses you to be a better person, regardless of a 'better Christian', 'better Muslim', etc.
 13.
Education: Bush has a plan, Kerry does not.
But what's the use of a plan when it's not in action? I remember supporting Bush four years ago for a few reasons, two of them being 1) His 'No Child Left Behind' plan. 2) I was a really stupid 5th grader. Sorry, but I don't see how anyone can support Bush. As for Kerry, he's not giving forth enough opinion in things just as Dean did. I mean, I agree with their opinions about Bush, but they need to give their own plans if they're going to criticize anyone about it. Even though I'm way too young to vote, I still wish there were more options. Our candidates this election seem to be just as good as the candidates in our California Recall Election. You couldn't pay me to vote for Bush, but I'm not fond of Kerry, either. I had the same problem with Dean as I do with Kerry, and John Edwards just smiles too much. The main thing I have against Bush is for dragging the country into a war without a clear reason. People are dying- and for what? 'The War on Iraq' has so many names, and it seems like every time a new 'title' floats up on CNN, it feels like just another excuse. Imagine if your brother or sister was out there and they were out risking their lives and possibly taking other lives for a war without a reason. I mean, think about it. 'The War on Iraq' = 'The War on Terrorism'? It's just heartbreaking to have people die fighting thinking 'what for?'. Also, I'd like to know why the government should have anything to do with Gay Marriage. I mean, if they're in love, why should it be a crime to make it legal? Oh, and maybe it's just because I go to a public school like most Americans, but I really don't think some people who are more financially endowed and have the oppertunity to go to a private school really understand how much the schools are in debt. The PTA asks us pretty much twice a month to donate twenty dollars per family simply to afford the 8th grade graduation at the end of the year. To go to a school trip, you have to pay about an extra sixty dollars besides the cost of the trip, and help the school raise money by participating in bake sales and car washes that are NOT FUN. Our worksheets are simply the backs of used PTA announcements, because the school can't afford enough blank paper to give us new worksheets daily. ...And who can ignore the gas prices? I don't drive, but every time my dad and I go to the gas station, it costs us at LEAST forty dollars. But I live in San Francisco, so that's normal, right? *rolls eyes* Oh, and as for a war on terrorism, it's just pointless. There has always been terrorism and will always be terrorism. And no, the middle east is not the only area where terrorism exists. -- And one more thing. I'd rather have someone who makes a moderate amount of promises and KEEPS them, rather than someone who makes a billion proposals and bearly keeps any. (Apologies if this post was rediculous and unintelligent.)
 14. I went last year, and it was a lot of fun. ^_^ And I wasn't much of an anime fan, either. Just grab as many freebees (they had cool pens last year) as you can and take as many piccies of the cool cosplayers! You might want to pack your own lunch, or something, though, since the food was kinda expensive. ...And if you've got an autograph book, be sure to bring it. Lots of autography-ness (...from artists I don't know but ANYwho). (Gah! I can't believe I didn't see you last year, Shinmaru! I met Josh and Yoshi. *was shy-er back then, though* @_@') Have fun everyone who's going! ^^
 15. Umm... is the max. for fanart size supposed to be 200kb? Other fanart I've submitted have been a lot larger than that, and when I try resizing one to be 200kb, it's really tiny... (Sorry if this doesn't belong in here.)
 16. It might just be that I'm really lazy, but when I add someone as a friend or sign their guestbook, I usually go back to that site to read their post, rather than do something in my backroom... It's just a bother sometimes, when I'm on a compy with dial-up, and I have to go back and takes a while to load. So, I'm just wondering if we could just go back to where we were, just with the message at the top of the page.
 17. Sorry, I lost interest in Toonami since Tenchi was taken off the air. From then, I tuned in time to time for DBZ and DB, but I never really could get into other anime besides Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop (Adult Swim). No offense, but I just couldn't stand Thundercats, for some reason. Once the half that wasn't DBZ/DB started getting worse, I just didn't see the point in taking the time to record the shows and such. Toonami sure does sound better than Mez...(something), though. ...And I never knew Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was from Japan. :sweat:
 18. The 'posses' in which some of my best friends are in are considered to be the most popular in school, but there's only a few of them I consider to be cool. Just because they're popular doesn't mean they're cool, but it doesn't mean they're all snobby and fake, either. I don't try to be popular or go out of my way to be 'unique'. I think it's just a bonus if you become popular for a lot of people liking you for who you are. Oh, and by the way, getting arrested is not cool. It just makes you look trashy, just like when someone uses like, five cuss words in every sentence and sags down to their knees. - .-; And honestly, I think some people are taking 'popular' people to be all like, 'Oh, I'm too cool to talk to people like you'. That's not always the case. 'Popular' people are popular for a reason, and it's not just how rich/pretty they are to be truly popular. And no, they don't all buy from Abercrombie (etc). In fact, it seems like Hot Topic is getting to be more chichè than Gap. ...Not to mention just as/possibly more expensive. (A shirt there is at least $18). Just be yourself and don't try too hard to be 'cool' or a 'loner'. Besides, people know fakes when they see one- except they know better than to say it to their face. [/rant] *walks off*
 19.
Okay, that 600 character introduction limit is going to really limit the use of HTML, javascript, and the like. I figured out, using Notepad set to display 100 characters per line with a fixed-width font (since I still haven't gotten around to installing MS Word), that my current introduction is probably somewhere in the 9,000-10,000 character range, including spaces. The thing is, though, my introduction isn't that big on the actual page. Most of it is HTML/javascript stuff, for the Now Playing and Midi Archive parts which take up all of five lines on the page. The buttons I don't care about so much; I could do without those easily enough. I'd just like to keep the Now Playing and Midi Archive as they are. Now currently, I've got my little intro picture, the Now Playing and Midi Archive parts, and then the buttons. With the 600 character limit, I figured out that I'll be able to have the intro pic, the Now Playing part, and maybe a link to a page with the other midis. And that's it. All the code for the drop-down menu is just way too huge in the number of characters, even though it's only a few lines on the page itself. Even four links to the last four featured midis, which is how I was doing it before the drop-down menu, requires a lot more than 600 characters. Basically, if the character limit stays where it is, I see everyone's introductions becoming very bland and boring. They'll all most likely just revert to an image and some plain text, because anything cool that was in them before requires too much code to fit within the character limit. What I'd suggest instead of a straight-out limit on the number of characters allowed in an introduction is, if it's possible, put a limit on the number of images and the number of characters that aren't part of HTML or script tags. I think that would fix the problem of overly long introductions while still allowing people to do stuff with HTML and whatnot. For a site that tries to let people highly customize their own little webpage, having a really strict character limit in introductions seems counter-intuitive. It'd be like having a 1,000 or so character limit with posts on OB, yet still not allowing people to double post. OB is supposed to be a place where people can have intelligent discussions, but then they wouldn't be able to because any decent post wouldn't fit within the limit. With myOtaku it seems like creativity in customizing one's page is encouraged, but now with the character limit, we aren't free to do anything creative in out introductions. To me at least, it seems to go against one of the main principles of the site.
*bows to Dessy* Well said. >>; But then, there's that issue where rather than introductions being cluttered with text, usually (from what I've seen, at least), it's like, twenty/thirty quiz results. But wouldn't those end up being counted as html, too? *scratches head* For my intro, I had to go back and shorten all my filenames and take off the " " 's and /'s in links and such.
 20. Yikes... >
 21. Hmm... would it be possible to know who's added you as a friend? I went to a few random member blogs, and I saw me added to about two who I don't know... ..; And.... I think having the myO's being transparent isn't a great idea. For the people who don't use tables for the actual posts, it'd be pretty hard to read the text if their background's really er... salad-y. (*can't remember the word*)
 22. I've used the 'Modify Posts' button on the bottom, but it still won't let me modify my posts. I just get an error message that says 'There has been an error. Contact the administrator.' o.o;
 23.
One thing that is a real hassle for me is having to put in the same large block of html every time I post. If you're going to put in editors for things as simple as color and italics, there's certainly room for a section such as "Post Properties", where you could insert some html that would automatically appear every time you made a new post.
That'd be nifty. ^_^; I was wondering if you could put some sort of limit in the introduction. Some people have like, 20 quiz results, and it's a real hassle to scroll all the way past that to get to the actual post. Also, I was wondering if it would be possible to include the time a myOtaku was updated, so we don't miss any posts in case they post again in the same day. x.x; *can't wait for V2!*
 24. Erm... is it just me, or does it seem like every time a bomb goes off, the Al Qaeda is automatically filed on the news as if it's been totally confirmed? I mean, there's still no proof that they were actually the ones behind 9/11, and I don't understand why when a train blows up in Spain, it's immediately the Al Qaeda's fault. I know they're terrorists, and I know they're terrible people. However, I don't think they're behind every single bombing there is in the world.
 25. Gay: - Not cool, Weird, Stupid...etc. Guh. Everyone at school is using this, and it's kinda like, 'geez, what do they have against gay people anyway?'. I mean, they use it for their weirdest things, like 'Homework is so gay'. Can paper/textbooks be gay? I might've missed something... And I know they might not have anything against gays, but it does get annoying, because it sounds so immature (whoops. *used an overused word*) when they use it over and over and over. ****, *****, ***, ******..etc.: - Various meanings, lol. Uhh... is it just me, or do people need serious anger management? It's so stupid how people stick a cuss word in like, every sentence because apparently to them, it sounds cool. I think it just makes them look really trashy, and it's not like they're getting bashed on the head or anything. And there always seem to be a very brief pause before they say it, like they're thinking whether or not to use it. And I mean, sometimes the way they use it is so rediculous, like '****, I dropped my pencil'. Again With the Lesbian/Gay Deal...: - Weird girl/boy, Person you don't like and feel like starting rumors about. It seems like every single person in middle school has been called a gay or lesbian. It's especially annoying when two guys/girls can't be friends without being called that. First it was how guys and girls can't be friends because they end up being called boyfriend-girlfriend, and NOW, it's girls can't even be super close friends with girls without being called lesbians and guys can't be super close friends with guys and not be called 'gay'. Prep: -...What exactly IS the true meaning of prep? Like: - Um. And I'm totally guilty of this one, lol. But I think it sounds better than sticking an 'uhh...' 'erm...' 'ummm...' in every break between words. Love: - 'Like-Like'. Geez. Honestly, people. You CAN'T fall in love in middle school and for most, even high school (and I don't even have to mention elementary, right?). But seriously, there are so many people from school who put 'I Love (insert name here), always n foreva' in their info, and it annoys the fudge outta me. >>; Especially when 'always n foreva' lasts for what, two and a half weeks? lol. Hmm... Forever was shorter than I thought... ^ Please excuse the uber-rantness. ^_^ *hops off*
