1. Gah, they're ace live. :toothy: I've seen them once in SF and met all three guys from the band. Got two posters signed by each of them, so I'm sending a friend of mine (Red) one of the posters. He's the one who introduced me in the first place, so meh. _._ But hmm. The only song I've been able to get into from 'Hot Fuzz' is 'Somebody Told Me'. Guess it takes a bit more listening to. ..; *must know songs within fourteen days*
2. I was offered a record deal audition a few months ago, but turned it down. What sucks is that this year, a couple of friends and I want to start a band but we're all learning our instruments, and we've yet to find a bassist. So at the moment, I'm lead vocals and guitar, my best friend on drums, and two more on guitar. I'm trying to convince one of them to give bass a go, but eh. Pretty sloppy right now, really. Also with the fact that half of the 'band' wants to do stuff like Good Charlotte *twitch* and Evanescence (Oh hell no. I can't sing that high for more than two songs *_*), and the other half wants to do Muse/Radiohead/Coldplay-ish stuff. I've already got a few songs written down, and my friends have too. Gah. The feeling of being on stage and performing is just brilliant. Edit: Hmm. So it's just Celia and me now, and we just want a bassist and second guitarist. (Hopefully one of them will do backing vocals. o__o') And erm, we're Echo. For now! >.>
3. Besides my friends/family been happy, healthy, etc, I want... a new gig bag for my electric guitar, lol. In the next few Christmases, hopefully I'll be decent enough at playing to buy a bigger amp and not torture the neighbours. ¬¬ Either that, or I want a puppy/kitty. But then again, having a guitar is like having a dog. "Feeeeed me" _._; As for something a bit farfetched, I'd love to have a plane ticket to London and a pair of tickets to the Earls Court Muse gig. Uhm, something realistic... A nice, warm, simple sweater would be nice. Or socks. I'm always losing my socks and my feet are always cold. ;_; The best present I received that comes to mind would be Bruno. I had him for about a year and a half and loved him to bits, but the person who sold it to us asked for him back, and my parents gave it to him whilst I was in Korea. But erm. When I had him at first. That was the best. OR, it'd have to be my CD player. I had that same one for seven years, dropped it 9283109238 times, but it still worked pretty well. Now I've got an mp3 player, but its storage space sucks. Eh, well. The worsttttt... Well, someone gave me this coloured powder candy thing where you put it in jugs and make designs like coloured sand. I think the entire insect population on our floor flocked to that thing. Wasn't a pleasant experience, really. As for the weirdest, leave it up to dad for giving me a pet rock and a pet orange. But he gives me presents at random points in the year anyway, so no 'OMGWTF'-ing or anything. ^_^; *still has pet rock* ----- Oooh, and just to sound more selfish, I'd love to dig up a Hullaballoo Muse DVD. Erm, the one with them at the Zenith. That would be awesome, but I have no clue as to where to find it besides eBay. _-_
4. I'm thankful be surrounded by amazing friends and understanding parents. Just the to know that I have people there for me who I can turn to and tell everything to. My parents and two teachers discovered on their own what I've been doing to my wrists lately, and they didn't yell or screamat me, but they reassured me and told me that the present's all that matters and to do everything for myself first. Everyone I love gives me great advice, and I don't know what I'd do without them. :) [/cornymushyness]
5. Why thank you. :toothy: I've been obsessed with diffuse glow lately, but I think that's simply because I'm not exactly loving my skin quality at the moment. >.>; Also, I've taken a ton of shots walking home from school lately, so here's a few more. ^_^ 'Gravity' - If this is communication... ...I disconnect. 'Silence is Golden' Hmm. I am not too happy with this one. xP 'What the World Needs Now' Taken a few days ago. Held camera with chin. =d This completely reflects how I was feeling at that moment- overwhelmingly sufficated. This was fun to take. Took a few shots to get it right, though. Apologies for grainyness. 'All Fun and No Play'. Er, I didn't do this. It was just there. >>; 'Jubilee'. Yep. These are just a few shots from the past..... four days or so. Hope you like. :whoops:
6. I'm seeing them at a gig on Dec 10th with MUSE!!!!, Franz Ferdinand!, Modest Mouse, Interpol, and Taking Back Sunday. I've only sampled a few of their songs, but I guess I'll go and download a few. >.>; Any suggestions in particular? [Edit:] Hmm, never mind. Just mass-downloaded. 'Somebody Told Me' is going to be so much fun live. >.>
7. Oh, whoops. Sorry. >>; I didn't think I'd win, so I didn't bother to check. Buuuut here it is! And thanks. ^^
8.
In regard to borders...there are a few ways you can do them. I used to use the "add border" tool on PSP, however, that flattened the image. ...But I'm not quite sure how I'd do them in Photoshop CS or anything, since I don't use that program much.
Oh dear. -_- I'm going to be extremely sad if there's been a border-making option there this whole time. I've just drawn the border with the pencil tool. ...Which I thought was the way everyone else was doing... it. Yeah. >>; Indeed. The colours fit very nicely, and I love the texture. :whoops:
9. Besides the fact that the picture's great, I
10. Thanks for all the great comments so far! I'm glad you like them. ^_^ Karmi, you pretty much hit the nail on the head with your interpretations. Awesome observations. Thanks for taking the time to look further and find what was being expressed. *hugs* Eh. And now that I'm not feeling ill anymore, I should be able to go out and about and take more photos. *shall post the select favourites in here* >_>;
11.
EDIT: Let me guess, San Fransisco?
Indeedlyness. =D Honestly, I can't believe how people come all the way to SF just to see the Golden Gate Bridge. :rolleyes: The place I took this photo's just a ten minute walk from where I live, and the Golden Gate Bridge is a five minute walk. Er, if you go down to the beach, that is.
12. Indeedlyness. This is pretty much what I've been doing with my free time lately, and I know they're not much, buuuut... here they are. 'As Heaven Is Wide/True Love Waits' Photomanipulated. Diffuse glow is teh fun, along with colour balance. >.> 'I Wish I Was Perfect' Just something I felt like doing after reading QA's 'American Beauty' thread. 'You and Whose Army?' Sorry if you can't see this very well. My monitor's blergh. 'Feels Like Home' Arr. Favourite type of weather. *had to climb tree for this shot* ;_; 'Optimstic' Whee. 'Interlude' Guess what city Juu lives in. =P
13. Where will YOU be when your diarrhea kicks in?
14. "YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!~~"... ...Okay. That was terrible. >__>; ANYway, there's still about a month or so left until Christmas, so I was wondering what everyone was hoping on receiving this year, and what were some of the best/worst/weirdest presents you've received in previous years. ^_^; So erm. Whee.
15. Hmm. It's interesting how this thread contradicts the 'American Beauty' thread in a way, lol. But eh. I'd prefer guys a bit more laid back and authentic. Going to the gym 3-5 times a week sounds a bit much, and so does having to change sense of style and etc to get a girl, lol. Everyone's bound to bump into someone right for them, so I'm not sure how this 'formula' would be of much help. Especially for the personality bit, if there's going to be one.
16. My favourite would have to be this ramune flavoured one, which also fizzes in your mouth. Also, it comes in melon and apple. Don't know what happened to it, though. *hasn't seen it around lately* =S
17. I'm hoping to start Yoga in the summer if my schedule isn't too hectic. Fitness-wise, I do 280 curl-ups, 15 leg lifts, and dance on a daily basis. About every three days, I go jogging for four miles (two miles down/uphill and two miles on the beach and back). Problem is, my arms have bearly any strength in them, so I'm planning on getting some light-ish weights and work on doing more push-ups. Hmm. Diets. I used to be anorexic two years ago, but gained back much of the weight I lost that following year, so I'm pretty convinced they don't work (particularly for people my age -.-). Lately, I've been having a good breakfast/dinner, but splitting up lunch so it's the same quanitity, but at separate times in the afternoon. For snacks and blah, rather than buying chips/cookies, I just ask my dad to buy me fruit, and I'm learning how to cook so I can stay away from instant noodles. We don't keep junk food at home anymore (...besides diet coke ¬¬), so I just eat crisps on trips, which I'm totally fine with. What sucks for me, though, is that I've got an incredibly slow motabolism/odd growth spurts, so even if I'm not eating much, I'll gain weight for a period of time then grow it all off. >.>; *shakes fist at cool-gene-d people*
18. "No sir, there's nothing wrong with my patch."
19. Due to my odd obsession with scissors, I've had 92831983 bad hair incidents. >.>; Worst one, though, would be last year. The year prior to that, I fell asleep (whilst doing homework) and woke up with a blob of gum on my forehead. (Shh- partially a reason I don'tt chew gum anymore. x_x) Panicked, cut it off. Now I had to let it grow back. The year after that, I was on scissor frenzy (cutting up clothes, etc), and decided to snip off some in the front (as if my hair didn't look bad enough already). Really simple, but total disaster. Looked like some sort of spiffy Buddhist monk for the rest of that year. Woo. Then this summer, I went to Korea, and one of the first things I did was get my hair straightened (it's really good and cheap there) and layered. But a month afterwards, I went back and got it highlighted. ...Bad idea. She didn't add a base coat, so I felt like a squirrel- especially on sunny days. So about two weeks ago, my mom just re-coloured it all dark brown again. You can still pretty much see streaks, but at least they're not orange. -.-; So yeap. Embarrassing, but my hair's normal now. >.>; And my mom bought me this Japanese shampoo/conditioner, and it feels a lot better than it did after the straighting perm. Eh. $12 per bottle, though. ~~; [Edit:] Oh, forgot to add. Celia's mom tested out her new hair cutting skills on me that year as well. *shakes fist*
20. Preparing at an early age to be the next top model.
21. Long list. Woo. 1) People who suck up to 'superiors' and mistreat 'inferiors'. 2) Metal scraping glass/stone/ having metal fork/spoon/chopsticks scrape teeth. 3) People who think being mean/'badass' is cool. 4) Seafood-ish smell (*can't stand seafood*) or over perfumed people/rooms. 5) Fashion/Beauty magazines. 6) Background music/every html trick possible in blog layouts. 7) People who go out of their way to fit a certain stereotype. 8) Rumours/Put-downs. 9) Having a slow motabolism.
22. Well, I have never considered taking a pill for depression, mainly because all the doctors I've met (dad's a doctor, as well as his friends) constantly tell me that while pills treat one thing, it effects another. So for headaches, rather than taking an asprin, you massage the sides of the tip of your middle finger, etc. And I'd have to agree with Josh on the age issue. The earliest years is when the brain goes through a massive development, and the results should be rather different between newborns and 'teenage' ...rats.
23. Eh. I have to get braces for a year because my jaw's crooked. -.-; My teeth are fairly straight (mom's a dentist) and I feel really fortunate it'll just be for a year. Not quuuite sure how that's supposed to work, but I guess it's worth it. ...Wait. Having braces makes you smile differently? o_o;
24. I'd have to say 'Unintended' by Muse is most beautiful to me. I can listen to it several times a day and have that same great 'feeling' each time. Matt's voice is mesmerizing, and he just pours his heart and soul into this song. Ah, and I love the lyrics. *hugs* Then, there's three songs from Coldplay- 'The Scientist' (acoustic), 'Green Eyes', and 'Sparks', and 'Exit Music (for a film)' and 'How to Disappear Completely' by Radiohead. OH- and 'Come What May' from Moulin Rouge. Absolutely love it. Moulin Rouge is a brilliant film, anyway (my favourite). ^_^
25.
String theory is not that at all. It's that every single phenomenon in the universe can be described in terms of the wavelength of an 11-dimensional string of Planck length. Multiple universes aren't the same thing, and as for that deja vu stuff, well that's just fantasy.
I didn't [strike]say[/strike] mean that's what string theory was. It's just something that's always brought up when we discuss quantum physics in class. The deja vu idea's just something that popped into my head after our teacher told us about both topics, and since there is evidence of other universes, there may be similar things happening with the particles there. [Edit:] Whoops. Sorry, bad wording, lol. - .-;
