I like scary 'ooh, that was creepy' nightmares. It's the sickening kind that are slowly killing me. About timing your breathing, or whatever...I've never tired it while going to sleep, but to relax I sometimes breathe on counts of seven. In-two-three-four-five-six-seven hold-two-three-four-five-six-seven out-two-three-four-five-six-seven Forces you to breathe slowly.

*hugs Ginneh* I've been having nightmares, too. Mm. I never heard of the tensing thing. What my mom used to tell me to do was just concentrate on relaxing each part of your body, starting with toes...and by the time I got to my head, I was always snoozing. Actually, tho... I don't mind it when I can't sleep. Of course, I know I need sleep, but... The time before I fall asleep --sometimes a couple hours, sometimes just a few minutes--I spend writing stories in my head. I've always done it, and I enjoy it so much....

_ _ I'm losing track of which orinigal characters belong to whch house. ___________________ Ginny Weasely bounced into the Great Hall, plopping down next to Colin Creevy. "Hey," she offered. "Hey. How was your summer?" Ginny grinned. "Oh, it was great. Charlie came back from Romania for a while, and Fred and George blew up the garden--it's all okay, now--" she added quickly, seeing the look on hs face. "And then--" A hush fell over the hall as Prof McGonagall stood up. All eyes turned to the front, and everyone waited anxiously for the Sorting to begin.

Just when you'd thought I'd finally forgotten about it.....Yes, I'm bringing it up yet again.
Uses of Strikethough Text I Thought Up Off the Top of My Head, so They May Not All be Exactly Ideal but I'm Sure You Get the Point: [bold italics indicate potential strikethrough material]
to indicate a change of mind or indecision. Example: My favorite character is Rei Asuka.
to indicate sarcasm, humorous or otherwise. Example: Mitch loves hates writing.
misspellings. Example: My favorite food is mostacoli mosteccolli mostacciolli mostaccioli.
to get Sara to stop asking for it.

Possible Downsides to Strikethough Text and Reason Why we Should Have the Option Anyway:
Someone's bound to type all their posts with it, and it will be hard to read. But no less difficult that someone typing in blinding chartreuse green or nearly-invisible silver.
It will lead to untold amounts of doublespeak and spam Maybe for a little while, but when the novelty wears off, it will be fine
No one will use it, so what's the point? I'll use it! And I'm sure other people will too. Just because I'm the only one obsessed enough to crusade for the silly thing on and off for a year and a half doesn't mean no one else would utilize it, were it an option. Besides, what about options like the LIST function? I mean, no one ever uses that...

Oh, my. Kevin, I didn't see Jenna as taking your statement personally, just suggesting that perhaps it went against the point of the thread. And now we're quite off the mark... Well, of course, there are my Usual Suspects: Ginneh, Shy, Shaun, and co. You guys know I love you. Deus, thanks for keeping an eye out for me. I appreciate it. Justin, we don't talk anymore, but it was fun when we did. Mnemolth....You have a worrying effect on me. Sorry if I come across the wrong way.

Bubbler vs. Drinking Fountain, heh... Eh. I don't know about my area in general, but within my group of friends "Poke!" [accompanied by the appropriate action] is a standard greeting. I started that one, I'm afraid. _ _ And I find that I easily pick up phrases from the people I talk to online and end up saying them at school. I get some curious looks, but it's quite fun.

That was...very well written. And upsetting. And I have a nagging feeling that it'll stay on my mind for quite a while. Damn you, Charles, stories are supposed to have happy endings....

Banshee threw down her towel in disgust. "I give up!" she shrieked. "I FREAKIN' give up! Let me outta here!" She ran angrily into the one-way glass through which she knew half a dozen species of scientists were watching her. The impact sent her flying backwards, and she landed hard on her back. "Unnnnnnhhhhh..." She stood up shakily and glared at the mirror. "Take that!" she exclaimed, somewhat dazed...the room spun, and she fell over again. "This does not bode well for our hero," she groaned softly. A flock of bluebirds circled her head menacingly. Things were not going her way, lately. When she signed up as a volunteer at the Granax Beta asylum, she'd asssumed she's be helping out the scientists...not be put under observation! "I need a new job," she muttered. A passing penguin nodded in agreement. "Check that. I need a new life. There's no lace life home, Auntie Em." The bluebirds disappeared, a rainbow broke down the door, the room turned inside out, the floor opened beneath her and she fell....

Tho' I doubt I was the one to coin the term, I was the first to really complain about it here. To me, 'playing mod' is spamming in a superior "you did something wrong" way. Example: A thread is in the wrong forum. Say someone tried to start a Dragonball RPG in the Dragonball forum instead of G/S...or whatever it is now. Twelve posts saying noting that "This is in the wrong forum and you'd better shape up or ur gonna be banned :modrod:" and "Mods, pls move this!!!" is spam. But some members felt that it was okay, because, after all, they were 'helping out.' The moderators know where the thread belongs. They will move it when they have the chance. The new member doesn't know. But the thread is already made, and will be moved eventually...so ideally, you should respond the same way you would have had it been in the correct forum. After all, a dozen people saying "This belongs somewhere else" sure doesn't get an RPG started. That's pretty much how I see it.

I get people books. That's about it.... And I guess I also make little paper boxes that a slip candies and a note into and hand them out to people at school... But yeah. Gift giving, I'm not that creative. Besides...books are easy to wrap.
