I'm quite fond of the quote I now have in my signature. From The Princess Bride: "I was eleven years old. When I was strong enough, I dedicated my life to the study of fencing, so the next time we meet, I will not fail. I will go up to the six-fingered man and say, "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." What can I say, I can be a hopeless romantic sometimes. I was perhaps twelve when I first saw this movie, and for me, the whole thing was about Inigo. Never mind Buttercup and Wesley--Inigo had a story to tell, and a story to live. From The Iron Giant: You are who you choose to be. Ah, the pure joy of watching cartoons. It's quite true--You can choose the way you want to live your life, regardless of what people think you can or cannot do. From Jurassic Park:God creates dinosaurs, God destroys dinosaurs, God creates man, man destroys God, man creates dinosaurs..... Dinosaurs eat man, woman inherits the earth. This one's just a bit fun, in that dark way I love. You can get philosophical about it, if you wish....I just like the quote. From The Fellowship of the Ring: Many that live deserve death and some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them?....Even the very wise cannot see all ends. --Gandalf A thought-provoking idea. Spoken by Gandalf after Frodo wished Bilbo had given Gollum his deserved death when he had the chance. Don't be too quick to pass judgement. "I would have gone with you to the end, into the very fires of Mordor" --Aragorn. A statement of true loyalty. If you wish, you could roughly equate Mordor to the Christian concept of Hell. Not many would say such a thing, and mean it. Ahh.....I truly love quotes.... :whoops:

Okay, I can use the data streams then, I guess. It'll work better that way. Better warn y'all, I'm a little rusty with writing...bear with me. This turned out to be pretty choppy narration.... -_-; And any punctuation is thought communication. The two marine armies were preparing to attack. Takato and Guilmon were getting more and more excited--but Henry was visibly upset. "Takato, this isn't our fight. We shouldn't be here." His friend glanced at him. "Aw, c'mon Henry. We're just helping out some friends of a friend." He jerked his head, indicating MarineAngemon. "No harm done." "What about our friends?" Henry demanded. Takato blinked. "Huh?" "What about Rika and Kazu and Kenta and--" Henry's throat thickened, and his voice sounded strange "--and Suzie?" Takato's face was impassive. "What about Jeri, Takato?" Takato's look softened. "For all we know, they're in trouble--and we're here stuck fighting some underwater war between to factions we don't know, over a stretch of ocean we don't care about, in a world we don't belong to!" Henry's voice grew more upset with each phrase until he was almost yelling. He finished abruptly and seemed to sag. Takato looked at his friend kindly. "Look, Henry--I know you're worried. I am, too. And I know why you're upset--" Henry stiffened. How could he possibly know about Terriermon? "You're scared to Biomerge with Terriermon after the Doodlebg thing." Henry opened his mouth in disbelief. "That's okay," Takato continued, "I would be, too. But that's no reason for you to be jealous about me and Guilmon going mega." Henry gaped. "Why, you arrogant--!!" But he was interrupted by a confused Plesiomon. "What's going on?" the leader cried. Takato and Henry looked across the battlefield. Inexplicably, the ReefLords were retreating. There was a joyous cry from the ranks of the Wavemakers. "That Sea Scum knows we're too good for them. They don't stand a chance!" Takato joined in the cheer. Henry was puzzled. It was clear to him the ReefLords didn't fear the wavemakers, not when they had Calumon as a hostage--so why were they leaving? There was something in the distance--He squinted and tired to make it out. "Uh oh--Takato--" Takato either didn't hear him, or was now ignoring him. "Uh...Takato?" Guilmon tugged on his tamer's sleeve. "Something's wrong...." "What is it, boy?" Guilmon pointed. "Oh, no....We've got to get out of here!" A giant tidal wave of a data stream was speeding towards them. Takato ran [uh....how do they move in those bubbles? I'm assuming they're in bubbles? Eh, never mind...] to Queen Plesiomon. "Data stream--Huge--coming this way--hafta get out of here!" Plesiomon looked in the direction he was pointing, and nodded. "Light Tsunami." Takato gaped. "You have a name for that thing?!" "They occur when, over time, many data streams enter the water and lose their course. They join together and form--" She looked at the coming disaster--"that. We have safehold from them. Bring your friends, and let the current carry you!" She looked at a dolphmon nearby. "Sound the alarm, activate the emergency current, and hurry!" Takato hurried back to Henry and Guilmon. "It's a Light Tsunami-- she says they've got a stronghold from it--come on!" That moment, a huge, deep, searching cry was heard--or felt--all around them. "What was that?" Henry gasped. "Their alarm--so everyone knows to get out of the way!" Henry just stood there. "That includes us, Henry--come on!" Takato grabbed his arm. Henry stayed motionless. "The twins--" Takato's face went white. "Oh, no." The trio rushed through the retreating Wavemakers to the edge of the battlefield. "Beelzemon!" Takato screamed. "Get out of there!" But BGM was battling the fierce emergency current--and, remarkably, winning--but why was he trying to reach the other side? "What's he doing?" Takato cried. Henry's eyes searched the area, and saw--nothing. "I don't know, Takato--Beelzemon!" *** Beelzemon--Impy, Mako, and Ai--forced themselves against the swift current. "Where'd this come from?" Impmon grunted. "We were fine a minute ago!" "Hold on, Calumon!" Ai yelled. "We're coming!" Unseen by the two boys, Calumon was still stuck in his coral cage, forgotten by the ranks of retreating ReefLords. "Ohhhh!" Calumon cried nervously. "Hurry!" Frightened and alone, his ears were almost none existant. "You really do look like a creampuff," Impmon's voice strained. "Hold on....almost.....there!" With a final exclamation, they broke free of the Wavemaker's emergency current and tumbled into the ReefLord's territory. "We're here, Calumon!" Beelzemon Gemini Mode grabbed the cage. "Close yer eyes, kid," he said gruffly, and snapped the coral bars that held their [his? Agggh!!!! Death by pronouns....] friend captive. With a cry, he swung the little In training into the current he had just struggled against, and watched with grim satisfaction as Calumon was swept to safety. But it was too late for Beelzemon. The Light Tsunami, huge and unstoppable, rolled over him, and he disappeared in the many-colored data. *** "BEELZEMON!" "Mako! Ai! Impmon!" Henry and Takato watched in horror for a moment. Then, Henry's voice: "Takato we've got to get out of the way!" "But Beelzemon--" "Come on! Henry grabbed Takato by the arm and dove into the swiftening [is that a word?] current. They were swept away, just ahead of the Light Tsunami, until the current veered and sped into a darkened cave. *** Impmon's voice cried. BGM looked around. There wasn't really much to see. "Colorful," one of the heads commented. The other rolled its eyes.

A BOOK thread! ::happy sigh:: Oke-doke. LOTR was a good movie, I was pleased how they did it. When you see book-based movies, you usually have to force yourself to remember, it's based on the book, it not turning the book into an identical movie. But LOTR was very well done, in my [not quite] humble opinion. Of course, you have to remember that they were writing the screenplay for a fanbase that's been growing steadily for 50+ years, and they knew they had to do a bloody good job of it, or somebody would get lynched. I read Hobbit in second grade, LOTR in third and fourth. [Actually, by fourth, I was re-reading the Hobbit, again.] I can never just have one book going at a time. I'll have a looong book, a series, something lighthearted....So whatever I'm in the mood to read, I've already got something started. [Granted, I have to keep starting new ones....the silly things keep ending!] I was a huge fan of McCaffrey's Pern in fifth grade, read all the books she had out at that point in time. I still like them, I'm just not quite as obsessed any more. I can never remember if the first book is Dragonflight or Dragonquest, I think it's thhe first...anyway, the one with the green cover. [At least, all the versions I've seen] :whoops: Two other good series by McCaffrey are The Rowan and Acorna sagas. I very much recommend The Rowan; I completely fell in love with Afra a few years ago. Acorna's good as well. [She's an alien who looks like a unicorn-girl, adopted by a couple of space miners, if I remember correctly. Good books, though quite honestly, I'm getting more into Science Fiction than Fantasy, but that line is a little blurry anyway.] Robert Jordan, a friend of mine told me to read Wheel of Time books, and I started the first one--I have yet to finish it. I'm getting there, but it's rather slow going. I never quite got into that book. It's a good book, and I can appreciate that fact, but I'm not really enjoying it as much as I thought I would be. I imagine I'll read at least the next two books, and if it's still a no go, well--I tried. I do like Terry Goodkind books, though I've only read one or two. [They're always checked out at our library. -_-'] They're easier to get into than the Eye of the World [Robert Jordan, again, for those who don't know.] Le Guin's books are very good, the Earthsea ones? I don't remember much about them other than the fact that I enjoyed them. I also really enjoy the Chronicles of Xanth or whatever they're called. I read the first few in sixth grade, though I have yet to find/read the rest. [It's about a land where everything's magic--and I mean everything. Anything here [heh, Mundania] has a magical counterpart: centipedes become nickelpedes, Weeping willows [at least, I assume they're weeping willows....oO;] become carnivorous Tangler Trees, etc. An excellent setting for any story.] His Dark Materials [Philip Pullman] is an excellent trilogy--though I'm surprised it hasn't ended up on every book-banning list on the country. The first one is The Golden Compass, for those of you interested. It's about this awesome girl called Lyra...and, well, read the book. It's a good one. And of course there's the classic Wrinkle in Time saga by Madeline L'Engle. I highly recommend this to anyone. It get's a bit semi-techinical in the beginning [Most people I tell to read it give up in the first chapter or two, when they start trying to explain the tesserect--which I thought was fascinating, buut hey, no accounting for taste] but stumble through it, if it bothers you. It really is a great book, with awesome sequels. Any fan of Old Testament History will have fun with Many Waters, but you don't have to believe a word of it to enjoy the telling. [When I found Waters at my school library, I was ecstatic. I'd read all the others and had no clue I was ever going to *finally* find a book about Sandy and Dennys--my fab characters!] I grew up on Chronicles of Narnia and anyone who hasn't read them, should. Regardless of religion. :p I've gotten a couple non-christian freinds who've heard about the parallels tell me they won't read the books because they "don't want anything shoved down their throats." Puh-lease. Accept the fact that C.S. Lewis [a good friend of Tolkien's, by the way] was a Christian, and get over it! If I can enjoy the fictional anti-christ-ness/evil, power-hungry God [Or so I've been told :smirk:] in His Dark Materials, and all the fictional Mother Goddess-ness and random other diety-ness in Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness, The Immortals, Protector of the Small, Circle of Magic, and Circle Opens quartets, and who knows what else-ness in all the other books I've read and loved, you can live through a little fictional Christianity in some of the best fantasy books ever. [subliminal message=READ THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA AND LIKE THEM]'Kay?[/subliminal message]

I posted part of the Digistory a month or two ago. Most of the original was deleted with v2, and a lot of it is waiting patiently on my hard disk for me to go through and clean it up into a readable story. Okay, I've got something with the underwater war, but first, I need to know a little bit about those Data stream thingies. I missed all of that part of the show, I think. Can anyhone give me a briefing as to what they are, what they do, where they go....[and could they be underwater?]

The reason no one like him is because he's a jerk. And yes, he was being really rude to her.

I don't know what Blanko looks like....But I could tell it was me and Ginny. ^_^] [What IS it with her and mismatched shoelaces, eh?] And everyone else: STOP POSTING REQUESTS! ::giggles:: Just kidding....sorta.

Drive in theater, huh? That's pretty cool. There's one [or at least...used to be one...I don't know if it's still going] in the city south of us. The city's name is Kenosha...the theater is, creatively, The Keno. [Incidently, I think Kino is German for movie theater...but I'm not sure.] Babygirl-- ::laughs:: Okay, okay. So y'all live in boring cities. Trust me, Racine is boring, too. But I tend to remember pointless facts. For example: Sauk City/Prairie du Sac [Motto: Where Eagles Soar...or it might have been Where Eagles Fly...I don't recall, exactly] hold a yearly cow-chip toss contest. Don't you feel enlightened?

Earlier this school year, at lunch.... The lot of us were talking, eating, whatever. Down the table a little ways, there's a boy no one can stand, and he's talking to this girl across the table from him. We're talking, laughing, joking--Suddenly, for no good reason, my friends and I all turn around--just in time to see the girl in question stand up, lean across the table, and pour orange soda all over the boy's head... Everyone who saw it happen just stood up and started applauding.... It was the funniest thing...
-
::grins:: Ooh, I wanna draw that, too! Okay...let's see.... Mike, I'm still working on Horiza. Sarsy--I drew one of your human characters, I don't remember the name--the one with the bandana on her head. I still need to color and scan it. And Shy....I hafta draw Shymon, now! Aaaaaagh!

Shaun, that turned out great!
