"We could push him back down the cliff," he said. "I'd like that." Riven choked back a laugh. "Yeah, after he's finally almost to the top! Can't you just picture it?" The image of Ryu tumbling down the cliff again was enough to make her forget her grudge against him for the moment. Kam jumped off her shoulder. "Let's go," he said. "What?" "Push him down the cliff." She giggled. "Are you serious?" Kam clicked at her. "Of course. Come on, he's almost to the top." "But how would we get there so fast?" "Easy. I can link us there." Linking was Kam's way of traveling quicly between places or people he knew well. Blinking out of existence at one point and reappearing at another. "But--we've never been here before. You don't know any of them, do you?" "Nah. But I've got [i]his[/i] scent. I can link to that, as long as it's fresh. Come on!" "You were supposed to be the responsible one," Riven muttered as Kam leapt up to her shoulder again. A moment later they stood at the top of the cliff.[/FONT]

They're Chosen Ones, though." Riven jerked her head to look at him. "What are you talking about?" Kam made a clicking noise. "Only Chosen Dragons are partnered with people." Riven grinned. "You might say, only Chosen People are partnered with dragons." Kam clicked again. "I might, but I didn't." Riven shook her head. "Never mind that! Do we trust them?" Kam flicked his tail. "Do we ever? No." "Should we help them?" "They don't need our help," Chameleon pointed out. It was true. "But you might go over and introduce us," he continued. "That's always polite." "I didn't ask for your etiquette advice," Riven muttered. Just the same, she moved towards them, away from the security of the shadows. "Keep us hidden," she whispered. Kam flicked his tail again, and, for all practical purposes, they became invisible. Or, rather, hidden. Riven was well familiar with this talent of Kam's. If anyone were to look at them, his eyes would slide off of the pair as if they were not there. As many hundred of times as they had done the spell, no one had ever been able to notice them. That's why it was such a shock when, this time, someone did.[/FONT]
