1. I skulk around frat row, find some fresh vomit, and send it to my professor in a tupperware. "I won't be in lecture today, but to prove that I'm really sick, I'm sending you this token of my sincerity!" Mmmmmmmm, vomit.
 2. I feel like I've fallen into a vortex, where nothing is as it seems, and all that I hold familiar might change at any moment!
 3.
But I di like Edgar Allen Poe's poem about that guy who murdered an old man, then hid him under the floor board. Really Creepy![/b']
That's a short story. One of most famous ones ever written. I was good at everything, and I had a passion for everything except math and handwriting. Those were more frustrating, because they required patience, and I have very little patience for tedium. Even those, though, once I settled into the right mindsight, were soothing in a way. My favorite subjects tend to be the art and literature-related ones.
I never study or take notes. I find that they are useless. And if you study for a big test you usually bomb because your nervous. I've never ever ever studied, yet I'm on the honor roll almost every marking period.
You probably oughtn't boast about your lack of studying until you can spell "medieval," are aware of the difference between a poem and a short story, and use the correct form of "you're" when appropriate. Just saying. :whoops:
 4. This is one for the photographers in our midst! In this thread, you post a visual (photographic) response to the last image in the thread. There must be a connection between the images, and you should state the connection in your post, but said connection could be any of a number of things: a thematic element, a similar color scheme, the same setting, the same subject (dolls, trees, pillows...) 1.) See the last image posted in the thread. This is the "live" image, the one to which you are responding. 2.) Take or find* an photograph that has a connection to said live image. 3.) Post your image in the thread. Don't stretch the page. Congratulations! Yours is the new live image, and the next person will reply to it! *Only post photographs that you have taken yourself. Not things you found online, not famous images, and not caption-contest candidates. The word "find" is here to clarify that you don't need to take pictures specifically for this thread. They still need to be your work. Feel free to comment on any of the images posted, but please don't "quote" the image about which you're commenting?that will lead to confusion as to which image is currently live. (Feel free to link to the image or to the post, or to quote the text of the post.) ---------- Comments: A building I snuck into with one of my friends. Every other door in the place was boarded up and locked, but this one swung open at my touch. The building in question was an abandoned, run-down medical facility on a rural college campus. "This is how horror movies get started." (And against all better judgement, we did go upstairs...) ---------- Response: Connection: Old building! This is a condemned building near the railroad tracks. I guess it used to house classrooms, but no one's allowed inside anymore. Too bad, it's a pretty building. ---------- The second image I posted is now "live." Post a response! It can be another old building, something to do with music, a picture of a school, or any other connection you can think of.
 5.
I'm learning Klingon right now, and by "right now" I mean "have been trying for a good 4 years now but I only know how to say 'We will meet in the cocktail lounge.'" It's hard to learn when you're so lazy. : (
What's the syntax for that like?
 6.
[and it's expected that there will be no natural blondes by the yea 2200],
Snopes'd! Anyway, like I said, I don't think I find blondes necessarily less attractive... I simply know fewer of them. And of course, even the blond-haired people I knew when I was young have darker hair now. I think most people even associate really (naturally) blonde hair with youthfulness. I know people who had white-blond hair as children who have brown (or even dark brown) hair now. One of my favorite things, as far as hair colors go, is that funny in-between brown/blond/red that you see in a lot of people of Scandinavian descent. I just think it's really visually interesting and pleasing.
 7.
I actually just got done making myself my first custom Desktop image. Tell me what you think you guys... I really think I out did myself...
I think your image is stretching out the page.

 9.
Apparently people think I should take a linguists class in college.[/size']
If you're interested in languages, I really recommend it. I took a linguistics class my first semester at the U, and I adored it. I've been taking them ever since. My confidence level is extremely low, but I've taken almost eight years of German. I also took a year of Swedish (which was exceptionally fun! If you ever have the opportunity, especially if you've had any contact with German, I urge you to take Swedish), and I'll be taking some beginning Swahili classes this coming semester (if everthing goes as planned). I've also studied Middle High German, Old English, and Old Norse, but of course those aren't spoken anywhere anymore.
 10. Looking at trends over time, most of the people to whom I am attracted have dark hair. However, most of the people I know have dark hair. I've considered dying my hair, but I have grave doubts as to whether anything other than my current (dark brown) hair color would work with my complexion. Perhaps something slightly reddish.
 11. Also, I'm not in the business of pwning, like, my best friends.
 12.
Damn it, you two couldn't have waited for another page and a half before threatening to kidnap someone? There goes my stalker bet.
You were giving them way too much credit, N. You deserve to lose for that. =]
 13. I can't think of anything I'd want to have drawn permanently on my body.
 14. I totally enjoyed the Daredevil movie.
 15. What a cute idea. If it were an in-person workshop (at a con or something? But I don't go to those, anyway, so the point it probably moot), I would probably go out and have fun with it. I deeply dislike having video taken of me, though (if still photography steals a bit of your soul, how bad is videography?). If you're up for it, though, you should definitely go for it. I might actually try and glean some dance moves from it, though I doubt you'll see any video of me. Has anyone uploaded anything yet?
 16.
Which version was this[/URL'], then? V5?
Wasn't that v4? With the big block of dark blue and dark purple up there at the top? And the big "down for a month" thing happened just before v6, I thought.
 17.
I really dont think it's a phase I'll grow out of because I think about the guy ALOT. Way more than anyone whos going through a "Phase" should. As for the sexual preference of the guy, he's as straight as an arrow, anything an happen I guess, but this guy is definety straight, even if he was into guys, I doubt he would admit it, because it would mess up his reputation so bad, so it's pretty much gonna remain unrequitted. There was a kid I knew in 6th grade, he admitted he was gay and was relentlesly picked on, day after day, it was so bad he switched schools, I havent seen him since, and I dont want to end up like him. If I keep having these feelings, I definatly wont come out to anyone but very close friends. Actually, I kind of regret telling my best friend, he's the kind of person that thinks sexuality is a choice, and that I could control it, he also said, as I mentioned earlier, that It was just crazy horomones/a phase.
In a brilliant display of not-actually-addressing the problem, I'm going to say: You're fourteen! You shouldn't be worrying about boys or girls! Go play kickball or Dungeons & Dragons or something! But yeah. Kids are cruel, so unless you're a really tough cookie, I'd keep any "Huzzah! A perfect excuse to verbally, physically, and emotionally abuse this person for the next four years!" differences on the down-low. Even with your close friends, it would be a good idea to test the waters by talking about GBTLA issues in general before actually coming out to them. The person you know might not be ready to handle that sort of revelation. I consider myself straight, but I had a couple very alarming experiences involving two such conversations. One of my best friends admitted that she "wouldn't be able to be friends" with me, and would "definitely stop talking" to me if I were a lesbian, and another very close friend misinterpreted the conversation and actually did stop talking to me. And remember: these were low-stress, casual conversations about hypothetical situations, not my saying "By the way, guys, I'm a lesbian!" So be careful. You go through enough heartache in high school to add to it needlessly by coming out to the wrong people (or even the right people at the wrong time). "I'm not bisexual, homosexual, or heterosexual. I'm just plain sexual."
 18.
[img']http://i15.tinypic.com/6covic4.jpg[/img]
This banner always cracked me up, because I thought it looked like a centaur. Does anyone else see that? I suppose it's worth mentioning (though it's obvious from even the examples shown) that the "banner" used to be just a small logo-style image at the top, not a screen-spanning work of art. Also, the board had banner/logo contests as early as 2001. The first one I recall, they simply ended up rotating through all the submissions (thimoc's MS-paint stick figure logo was the first one up), but the rotation stopped long before every submission had been featured... I only remember a couple days of different banners, but maybe Nerdsy or another oldie can confirm or deny that.
 19.
I know most people don't have a clue when they're a senior in high school, but for me I think it's really worse. Everything I want to do has a high probablility of failure; probably less than 10% actually make a living out of it...
What are you interested in doing? As for me, I'll be a senior in college this fall. The idea of finally being done with school is a little scary, because I'm not sure what I'll be doing after I graduate in the spring. (I'm a German major, but I don't plan to do anything with it.) I'm applying for a study-abroad scholarship for the year after I graduate; if I get that, I'll definitely take part in that program. If not, I may end up working with Teach for America/Americorps, or the Peace Corps. I guess what I really want to do is work with non-profits. Another option would be to apply for a job at the place where I currently volunteer?that's appealing for a couple reasons, but for some of the same reasons (close to home, a familiar workplace), it also seems like kind of a cop-out when I could be doing other things. My advice? Just go for what you want to do... but be open to change. After a year or two away from home, you may find out that there's something you love that you never knew existed before. Don't be afraid to take chances?both on what you want to do now, and what you might find later.
 20.
I've been trying to create my favorite type of RPG a few times, but it always falls down to other people not sharing my ideals for it - which is of course only natural. The ending is always the problematic one. I wouldn't want the game to go on for too long, because eventually people will lose interest. The game should end right after it's peak, the climax of the story, so that everybody would have a great feeling left inside them for making this magnificent RPG together. ;D
What do you think is the best way to end an RPG? When you create a game, do you usually have the ending (in some form) in mind from the beginning, or do you just create a setting and let the characters themselves define the goals and outcome of things/ This is something I'm really interested in, because it seems like something a lot of creators/players have problems with. If you define an end goal at the beginning, I think you lose a lot of creative input from the players (especially in recent years, when it seems like creators have been taking much more control over the stories). If you don't specify a goal, though, you risk getting bogged down and lost along the way. Maybe the best way to finish after you reach a climax is simply to allow every player one or two "wrap up" posts and then call the whole thing done. But how do you get to the climax in the first place? Do you think it's something that should be defined from the get-go by the creator, or is it something that the players should collaborate and agree on?
