I often slip into my own vernacular...spelling words wrong a-purpose, or saying strange things....
Originally posted by Master O Beans that's my all time fav. just aks babygirl. I think she knows about it.
I loved that movie when I was very little.... Scared me half to death, but I loved it.... I read the book when I was ten, and I loved it even more....

Well, if Transtic is in the Top Ten, I am......I could care less. It's already been said here: Quality, not Quantity.
Originally posted by Sephiroth everything transtic said I completely agree with, we should all get on with our lives, I mean all I've been getting ever since the incident are questions from morons about the attacks, they think just because I come from the middle east, namely iraq, that I would know all the answers, how pathetic is that....
About as pathetic as my classmates telling me off about my German backround because of the Holocaust... People just don't get it....

You and Transtic being members of a superior species, it strikes me as somewhat humorous that you keep saying that....
Originally posted by Sephiroth I have 56k, could it suck anymore than it already does....
Ha! I don't even have that... I connect somewhere between 28.8 and 44-something.... I didn't know there was a 44 connection....
Originally posted by James Yeah but Transtic, those are SO very different. Japan killed millions...Japan used Chinese citizens as "crash dummies" when it came to testing biological weapons... They bombed Darwin and Sydney in Australia..and tried to make us a part of the Japanese Empire... They deserved to be bombed. The innocent people didn't deserve to be killed...but...had the bombing not occurred, Japan would have won. And Iraq also deserved it. The attacks in Iraq were based on military targets. So this situation is totally different.
I don't really know how to respond to a statement like that...but then, I don't seem to know how to respond to anything, lately... Life is precious....people may not live their lives in a way we see deserving of life....but that doesn't keep life from being precious.... And while things that happen in war may seem crazy to us in times of peace... I don't know... I'm just trying to sort out how I feel right now, I guess... Don't mind me....
Originally posted by master vega yeah lets stop this sorrow it's getting us nowhere. ALL THIS HAS DONE IS CONFUSE US ALL! SOME OF US WITH ANGER SOME OF US WITH SORROW I SAY LETS PUT IT TOGETHER TO USE IT AS A WEAPON!
That's crazy. People have lost family, friends, loved ones. The entire country has been shaken. We NEED to have time to grieve, to pull ourselves back together. Please, everyone..... Don't let anger get the better of you right now. What happened Tuesday was an act of anger. Thousands of people.... It's a tragedy. It would be considered a tragedy to happen to any country. Enough people have died already. And although I don't know what I would do if I were alone with the people responsible--God Help me--right now we need to mourn the deaths and suffering that has already taken place. Not cause more to happen. -
Yeah, I know what you mean....

It's been rough... But there are a few things that I keep going back to for comfort. Things people have said to me, Bible verses, lyrics to some songs.... If anyone else has something they would like to share.... Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.
Originally posted by James If my country were being attacked (like in WWII), then yes...I would sacrifice my life to defend it. Having said that, this issue is a terrorist issue, it is NOT an international war. This is more about stamping out terror groups...rather than actually defeating a national oppressor. If this is Osama Bin Laden (once again...sp?), all I can say is...if I were left alone in a room with him...god knows how I would react. I'm not a violent person, but it'd be incredibly difficult not to cause some serious damage.
That expresses my feelings nearly exactly...
Originally posted by Desert Shadow Intresting day today... *yawn* I had some good orange juice this mornin'. Wow, looks like plane crashing is all the rage these days in terrorism. Intresting.... It's absolutely awful about the lives that were lost, and the people's lives that were torn apart from loss of loved ones.... I don't think this'll result in a war between countries. I'm thinking more of a war between america's military, and the terroists. That was quite the attack. I wonder if i'll get drafted.... One of the biggest attacks in history of the U.S. You guys seem scared... i'm not....
Thanks, Desert. That's one of the most level-headed, sensible things I've heard all day. Thank you. I needed that.
Originally posted by Master O Beans Ah yes ,I was talking about Irony earlier... ...and if you were to check your calenders... it's September 11. 9-11 911 Emergency. just something I found out. thought you might be interested if that sort of thing interests you.
Yeah, I noticed that... I'm sorry guys, but I just feel sick... I actually had to throw up earlier today... Right after we heard the news--maybe 15 minutes after it happened--I went to Geometry--and my teacher--no joke--was perfectly intent on teaching about the angle addition postulate. He finally gave up...everyone was too distracted... There are televisions on in every classroom--all extracurricular activities have been cancled until further notice. It's scary. My prayers go out to anyone and everyone hurt or killed--and their families and friends. Scorch it all...I can't believe this... I just read Executive Orders by Tom Clancy...it's like I'm just watching the movie,now... I should be able to turn off the television, and it will all be back to the way it was...but it won't. Oh, God.... I can't imagine living there--seeing the damage firsthand. I just pray that no one else gets hurt by this.... So many lives have already been lost. On another note, I urge anyone qualified to contact the nearest blood bank, and donate.... Especially in a situation like this, you could save a life.

Songs with lyrics that touch the heart...
Sara replied to RicoTranzrig's topic in General Discussion
Ah...there is a really moving piece of music... Adagio for Strings, I think it is called... And I love this song..it gives me shivers every time I hear it... Testify to Love ~~by Avalon For as long as I shall live I will testify to Love I'll be your witness in the silences When words are not enough... -
My advice? Learn to draw real people. Plumb line, bone structure, the way clothes hang--it's all important. Once you know the basics of real-life-drawing, your overall art will improve.
Originally posted by James There is also an issue of religion that I take issue with in particular. And this is the idea of "having all sins forgiven" and doing good on earth...in order to make it to heaven. This entire system is actually a way of shifting blame. "If you confess your sins, you're instantly forgiven". Um sorry...but that doesn't gel with me. In addition, christianity in particular (this is the example I'm using) holds the idea of heaven above its followers like a bone to a dog...it's a way of controlling the population's behavior. "Do good in life, try not to sin...and confess those sins you have made and you will make it to heaven". And of course..."Doing a good deed for people will make God happy" etc etc. The only thing I question about this system is the person's motivation for actually following the ten commandments and essentially leading a "good life". Are people doing it because they want to get to heaven? Because they want some kind of reward after life? Or are people doing it because they genuinely want to be a good person? And because they want to do the right thing? It's an interesting point.
Yes, it is an interesting point. I'm Lutheran--Martin Luther was one of the main people in the Reformation. Being part of the denomination that I am, I do not belive that good works get ya to heaven. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--anf this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not by works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 You're forgiven. Period. Whether or not you choose to accept that gift--that's up to you. Free will. That's where the whole fruit-in-the-garden deal got started in the first place. Free will. That's how I understand it. And I read your posts, AJ. It's true that I don't know a lot about most other religions. Some have the same roots as Christianity--but I even have trouble keeping different Christian denoms straight. Even within denoms, there are dif. synods.... But I read all your posts, and enjoy them...learning something new never hurt anybody.

Amanda groaned and sat up, looking around. The explosion had sent water, wall, humans, and digimon in all directions. Ginny and Tiamon lay a few feet away. Amanda stood and walked over, picking up Noptamon and carrying her over to her partner. "Ginny? Are you okay?" Ginny groaned, pulling herself into a sitting position. "Let's never, ever do that again." "Fine by me," Oreta said crossly from behind them. Ginny and Amanda started. "Sorry, I didn't know you were here," Amanda muttered, slightly embarrassed. "S'okay." Oreta looked around. "Where's Cera? And whatsisface? Kazuya?" "I'm here," Cera called, slowly standing up and walking over. "Ugh... That was not fun." Ginny looked down and realized she was still sitting in a few inches of water. She stood, wringing water from her hair. "Where is Kazuya?" "Frankly, I'm glad he's not here," Cera said shortly. "Cera--But what if he's on our side now?" "I mean it...I mean, he tried to kill us all before, remember? That kind of puts a damper on our relationship." "Well, people can change..." "Yeah, they can. Doesn't mean they do." Cera scooped Kitmon out of the standing water on the floor. "Anyway, I thought ToyA--I mean, Block--whoever he is now--I thought he said there were no more traps or anything." Amanda blinked. "Where is Blockmon? Has anyone seen him?"
