But also on a basic level...American-English is a simplified/lazy version of English. That bugs me at times, lol.
I am torn between arguing and agreeing! [strike]Languages are constantly growing and developing?words, spelling, pronunciations, and grammar are always evolving. Shortening or words or forms isn't even a matter of people's being lazy?all the languages that I've studied tend toward shortening. But simplification isn't the same thing as laziness?I think a large part of language change simply has to do with how impressionable we are as speaking people. We imitate those around us. Actually, this is a huge tangent, and if I keep going it's going to get even worse.[/strike] Okay, let's try this response again.
Yes, I too sometimes get annoyed by American-English.
"Buiscuit?" C is for cookie, damn it.
Giggle.
What is wrong with the "Goth" look? We are just people who have a very morbid or macabre veiw of life. Also, define "Goth". Everyone calls me "Goth" and the only reason is becuase I am not Christian, wear black rave pants and shirts, have a morbid veiw of life, and hate the sunlight. (also, everybody is "Unique" and a "Individual")
I honestly can't tell if you're satirising or being serious. Seriously, you've got me stumped. But, on the off chance that you're being serious... Why on earth do you hate sunlight?
There is a difference between introducing someone to a religion and converting[/i'] someone to that religion. what I mean by converting is people who don't seem to take no for a answer and leave you alone.
This came up in conversation with one of my friends a while ago. I believe he considers himself agnostic. In any case, he said something along the lines of "I can't be angry with [evangelists] because of what they are doing. If someone believes firmly in their religion, and honestly believes that unless you also believe, you are going to suffer an eternity of pain and misery.... And they dedicate their life to trying to save you from that. I can't be angry at them for that. I believe that it is one of the most well-intentioned things a person can do." Food for thought.
also, This is something that most christians assume (at least from my own experience), yet is not true: just becuase we say we are not Christian, doesn't mean we don't believe in God, in fact we believe in a God and Goddess.
Who's "we"? The way you worded this, you're implying that everyone who does not consider themselves Christian believes in both "a God and Goddess." And, um, that's not true. 2.
...like a little while ago this guy and I started arguing about what form of what is better and so one thing led to another him and I got into a courtesy match and I totally kicked his ***. Sheesh I though he knew so much turned out he didn't even know the basic countering stances....
I'm confused. Do you have this problem a lot?
 3.
if someone (eg KANAME CHIDORI/CHII/CHISE/ anybody you like )really does exists, would "I JUST WANT TO BE FRIENDS,THAT'S ALL" satisfy you????
I am alarmed at your implication that most people on this board are socially dysfunctional enough as not to be able to relate to the situation of crushing on a non-anime character.
 4.
Would it be self-centered to want to see myself in the Otakupedia? Hehe. Notable Information: - Joined October 28th of 2000 - Moderator of Gamecube Section - Dragonball/Z/GT Quizzes that stumped even the forum moderator, TN - Dragonball/Z/GT RPGs - Editor of the Yu-Gi-Oh! section on the main site - Fall from grace in a battle against James, resulting in deletion - Met both Nerdsy and Shift in real life [That's worth something, hehe] I could go on, but I feel as if I would be wasting everyone elses time, hehe.
Plus you share a birthday with one of the coolest members ever. Just saying... Nerdsy, I think people that are "famous" for having been banned probably ought to go in said section...
 5. Sandy, this is terrific. I haven't seen anything from you in quite a while, and I'm stunned by how much your style has developed. Almost all of the "not quite right" anatomy is gone?the only problem I see is they way you're standing; it looks like you're sort of floating. Seriously, these are great caricatures, better than anything I could pull off right now. And it's still obviously something that you've drawn?honestly, this is fantastic.
 6. Such a good film. Absolutely haunting?the lullaby! I have no words for it. Beautiful movie. The final scene in the labyrinth was almost too much for me.
 7. My weapon of choice? Probably a banana. Or perhaps a pointed stick.
 8.
I take it you have a lot of altoid tins? lol
Purely as an example. ;) ...but yes. Yes, I do.
 9.
An interesting set-up, although I have to admit I'm not too keen to see the books segment of the Arena merged with MMTV to create "Otaku Media" as you call it. Typically these two have been apples and oranges to one another, each dealing with a specific form of a media, just as the Play It forum deals with a separate system to PC & Mac.
I think book discussion could easily merge with Music, Movies, and TV. They're not that different, and there are many franchises that span more than one media, anyway.
 10. We are so very stylish, taking pictures with our webcam. [strike]100%[/strike] 98% Photoshop free, folks (I did add the border). What's your favourite hobby? My favorite hobby is taking pictures of dead animals. It gives me an excuse to go for long walks in the sunshine with my camera (always a good thing), I get some exercise, and I get to take disturbing photographs! Dead things make excellent subjects, by the way. They stay where you want them, don't get impatient if your camera is working slowly, and they never squint in the sunlight. (Of course, their eyes are usually closed anyway, but at least they aren't squinting.) What do you think your best personality trait would be? My best personality trait is probably the fact that I enjoy taking photographs of dead animals. It shows not only my creative side, but also my sensitive side and my willingness to get alarmingly close to dead carnivores (I was going to try to pass this off as my "practical side," but even I realise that's a stretch). I think it also demonstrates a certain morbid sense of humor (though not quite as morbid as orchestrating a portrait of yourself reading "How to respond to a juror summons.")
 11.
The only thing about it is that it appeals more so to the people who have been here for longer and have a track record that would put them in the running for a record much easier then it would others. Though I know not all categories of records would involve needing to be a long-time members (maybe like Who is the oldest person to ever join OB). It seems like the majority of them can't avoid being aimed toward that.
But this leaning could easily be solved by allowing non-OB related records. Like, say, I might claim that of all the OtakuBoards members, I have the most Altoids tins. I'd count them, post the number, and maybe take a picture of myself with the tins for the Records thread. Then, anyone who thinks they can beat me would need to prove that they have more tins than I do. Other records ideas could be best time to finish a game, longest hair, whatever. They wouldn't necessarily have to be things that relate to the meta world of OB.
 12. Of course, there is the possibility?however slight?that mixing the Anthology threads in with the Underground/Arena/Whatever will bring them a new audience and actually increase activity and feedback for original writing. I mean, Hey! It could happen.
 13.
200 on Sara for first. It's a sure bet!

200 OtakuBucks for Sara in first place. If she doesn't win, I'll personally rend the judges.
 14. Just to be sure I'm clear: We're allowed to have other people take these photos, right?
 15. I'm a little baffled. Sandy, I know you could come up with something more original than OtakuBoards Survivor four.
 16. If the ratings stay, I think they need to be completely renamed so that things like [PG] don't overlap with exisiting standards outside of the boards. Even something arbitrary like [A] [C] would allow a blank slate where the ratings would be defined within the boards, for the boards. I think this would help the situations where people opt for [M] over [PG] because they consider their RPG goes beyond the [PG] movie rating they're familiar with.
 17. What is it? Shy. [Event Master] Why is it nifty?
I'm Shy. I'm a 21 year-old college student who has been living on my own for almost a year. I created Thread Ratings while also participating in one of the most graphic RPGs to date. More to the point, I regularly consume alcoholic beverages and have engaged in irresponsible sex countless times. I DON'T WANT CURSING IN MY GODDAMN ARENA, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT IT OFFENDS 8 YEAR OLDS.
What is it? Harem of Celebrity Lust [Thread] Why is it nifty? Not only did the thread contain one of the highest concentrations of beautiful people ever, it was a blast reading the captions and comments and seeing what (physically and personality-wise) people found attractive about their celebrity crushes. What is it? Pirates or Ninjas? [Thread] Why is it nifty? This was one of the funnest threads I've seen on OtakuBoards in the five-odd years I've been here. The arguments, great picture evidence, and enthusiastic back-and-forth between Ninja and Pirate supporters made this thread the best thing to happen to OB all summer. What is it? Suggestions & Feedback [Forum] Why is it nifty? The Suggestions and Feedback forum is my favorite forum. It's usually a sleeper forum, and it can go for weeks without a post that doesn't involve myOtaku modification help, but every once in a while, you get a real gem. The MAMA thread, the recent Adventure Square thread (which is flying along with over 50 posts in less than twenty-four hours), and of course the unparalleled.... What is it? A suggestion of the .com variety[Thread] Why is it nifty?
hi im new here but thats not to say that i dont have an idea or two I think that the .com should possibly be abolished and changed to .wand or even .elf This would give the website a more mystical feel and I feel that it would imrpove the experience as a whole. It would also attract attention from people searching the internet for wands who might have an interest in the community.
What is it? John [Member] Why is it nifty? Because his signatures are consistently hilarious.
Edit: Except for, apparently, right now. What a slacker.
He pays tribute to the best (this is of course subjective) aspects of the boards, and I think that the awareness that he raises is worthy of recognition.
 18.
I understand your point, but wasn't Spaceballs made before the PG-13 rating came into existence? :animeswea ~Dagger~
Which is the situation in the Arena right now, isn't it?
 19.
I believe it doesn't matter what words you use to say the same thing.
Fly-or-die doesn't mean the same thing as fight-or-flight, though. The first implies that there is only one option for survival.
 20.
Clearly, my style of RPing would fit withing the PG guidelines. However, when it comes down to it, most people see the PG rating and think this:
and my apologies to the Eragon fans out there, it's the only comparison that sprang to mind instantly.
So...yeah, that's my $0.02.
So let's teach them different.
 21.
I think the reason most people have an M rating is because they're scared of their RPG going over-board and getting closed. The only reason I think that is because up until awhile ago I was always afraid that I might add a bit too much violence and the game would be closed for an improper rating.
The thing about that is, moderators have full ability to edit threads, and if you feel that your story is evolving into something that needs a higher rating, all it takes is a PM or a moment on AIM to request a rating change. Editing a thread title is literally the work of a few seconds.

 23.
And world domination. 24. I'm an Aries, which I think has something to do with being stubborn, short-tempered, and generally, um, "fiery." (It also means that I'm represented by a goat, which I think is kind of cool. I like goats...) I don't put any stock in them.
 25.
...umm, have you never seen a decomposing corpse? [/color']
*uncomfortably* You've seen decomposing corpses?
