2. First and foremost, this person is your friend. If you want things to stay that way, you'd darn well better be careful on how you handle things. You can attack her with proof of her plagiarism, yell at her, and demand an explanation--but that's not gonna help your relationship any. Everyone's an idiot sometimes, and I know I really appreciate it when my friends don't dump me on my butt just because I do something abysmally stupid. If she's tracing artwork, it's because she wants people to think she can draw. It's because she wants to feel special, because she wants to impress people, and because she doesn't know how else to do it. Is it a bad idea? Heck yes. Are you going to help the situation by yelling at her? Um, no. You are going to make her feel defensive, hurt, and victimised. Trust me, that is the last thing you want to deal with. Edit: Of course, if you really think she "spews lies 24/7," you can disregard my post and just have at her, because her any friendship you have with her isn't--or shouldn't be--that high on your priority list.
 3. I'm caucasian witha culturally mixed background that isn't really all that interesting, because no matter which way you slice Europe it's still where my ancestors were from. Despite the fact that I look American, I act like a desperate teenager who ignorantly stereotypes vast groups of people and happily inserts myself into said groups so I that I may feel simultaneously accepted by and superior to my peers.
 4.
heres one. What runs but never walks. What has a mouth but never talks.
It also has a bed, but never sleeps.
 5. Ooh, what fun! This is looking great. I'd like to join, but I'm so busy this semester. I'd hate for it to get to my turn and make everyone wait for me. For the time being, I will watch happily from the sidelines.
 6. I don't think it was boring at all. Slow-paced, but deliberately so. It's a very sweet love story, and it's definitely got a special place in my heart.
 7. I might play with the idea of piercings or colored contacts, but I'm honestly too afraid of change to even cut my hair. It's not likely to happen for me. :)
 8.
Well the last thread I killed was a Dr. Who RPG. >_< The person who started it just doesn?t have time due to school, but I still feel like I killed it somehow. I?m sure I?ve killed others, but none come to mind at the moment. Still to have killed a Dr. Who thread. >_< I feel like a murderer somehow! LOL!
Honestly, how could you?! Dr. Who rocks my proverbial socks. I really want to get my hands on the old seasons. (Yes. All of them.)
 9. I would sell postcards and other nifty things with designs such as those that can be found here: [/shameless plug]
 10.
Amazingly, I didn't catch the "finish your vegetables" until a few minutes of looking at it, lol. You *might* want to switch the "your" and the peas around and see how that looks, but I think it was most likely just me. >_>; As for color, you might want to make the colored vegetables more saturated, but other than that, this design is just fantastic.
Thanks for the reply (again). The peas are actually there because the tomato didn't fit under the eggplant the way I wanted it to. I moved it over, and then threw the peas in there because it looked empty, heh. I'm still not really happy with how they fit in that space (I've rearranged and resized them so many times), but I think this is the best of what I've tried so far. And, augh, colors! I am having an awful time with the vegetable colors. I think they would look better, brighter, but whenever I make them less "chalky," the contrast with the green just looks awful. I know it would look just great in person, but on a screen it's kind of wonky. I'm not sure what to do. --------- Edit: Up for scoring! Go vote. :p
 11.
They're people who often have absolutely no right to be depressed, as has been mentioned. I have many personal experiances with people who's parents shower them with things and they live in a great life - but they still feel they have the right to be depressed? No, no that is not right! [/COLOR']
Because depression is a completely logical phenomenon which only affects people who have the "right" to be upset, amirite?
 12. What John said. And are you sure that's what's bothering your parents? You're dating this guy, and they're upset that you've kissed? I think you should talk to them and find out what they dislike about him. Maybe his mom dumped your dad in high school or something. :p But seriously, everything would be much smoother with your parents' approval, so I'd recommend approaching them and having a civil, mature, calm conversation about your boyfriend. (And, er... don't mention marriage.)

 14. I log on AIM and Yahoo! (mostly Yahoo!) through Adium. As John said, it is totally awesome, and has all sorts of bells and whistles that I love. ^_^
 15. Ninjah--The dino was drawn in Flash, the tree was done in Illustrator. The chameleon was drawn by hand, scanned, and auto-traced into vector format. And yeah, I guess I still need to tweak out the chameleon colors before I submit it. We'll see what happens when I get back to that. Right now, however, I totally dropped the lizard and started on something new: Everything here was sketched in my notebook, then traced in Illustrator. Not happy with the colors on this one, either, but I'm ever so pleased with the artichoke. And for purposes of this shirt, everything above is considered a vegetable. ;) It's a work in progress (everything you see was done in a marathon this afternoon/evening/night), so input would be grand.
 16.
Sagestone: perhaps Black: nay I have to say, I like the idea a lot more with yellow or green. The sagestone looks great, but I don't think it goes well with this idea, since it's not really as "natural" as something more colorful. Same with the black, but in addition to that, black is sort of the color that's defaulted to when color doesn't matter in a t-shirt, lol. And not only is color central to the joke in this shirt, the shirt's so simple that the element of color should probably be added to it anyway to sort of busy it up a little.
Hm. Looking at my notes earlier, my original color plans were pretty wild--turquoise, yellow, scarlet. I guess I was in a more subdued mood last night, heh. The black isn't really there because color doesn't matter, but because I really like the idea of a black-on-black (or even black-on-asphalt) shirt. There aren't enough asphalt shirts on threadless. I'll continue to play with colors, I guess.
 17. ...and at that rate, you might as well skip the transparency altogether and simply save the image with your desired background color.
 18. I wasn't able to work on things much over break, but having finally (today) turned back to this idea, this is the current version. Ideally, like John said, the image would be even closer to the shirt color. For voting, though, I do want to make sure that people can see the image clearly. Input?
 19.
It amuses me how everyone in this thread (save for Corrina) knows absolutely NOTHING about emo. First off, it doesn't stand for emotional, it stands for emotive hardcore. Emo is an off-shoot of punk that pretty much died out quite a while ago. It wasn't Dashboard Confessional or whatever everyone thinks it is. Emo isn't about girlfriends or cutting yourself. It's not a fashion style. It's a style of music. Yeah, so... emo doesn't exist anymore, to be blunt.
The fact that what you consider to be "real emo" no longer exists does not change the fact that there is currently a large teenage subculture called emo. It revolves around music. It revolves around fashion. It revolves around depression, angst, mySpace, make-up, girly pants, and black hair cut at funny angles. The fact that "emo" originally stood for "emotive hardcore" means nothing to the kids who call themselves "emo" because it also stands for "emotional." It shouldn't have to mean anything to them. The two things may have been the same thing once. They may not have been. It doesn't matter, really. But this subculture has adopted the term emo, and whatever else the word once stood for, now it also stands for this.
 20. Having stayed out of the fray long enough, I have my own two cents to add. Given that this is an anime site, and there is not (to my knowledge) a currently super-popular anime involving wands or elves, I counter your suggestion with this: (Are you ready? If you think so, go ahead and highlight.)
OtakuBoards.ninja
. Not only would this move change the ambience of the boards from something commercial and corporate to something much cooler, but the specific advantages of
.ninja
are almost countless. Without specifying what kind of
ninja
the suffix refers to, we would be leaving the site's URL open to the interpretation of the visitor. Traditional, magical, doctoral, code and pirate-hating
ninja
would all be represented, thus broadening the appeal of OtakuBoards almost tenfold. I would also like to add that the italicisation of
.ninja
would be mandatory in all cases, in order to emphasise the uniqueness and stealthiness of the new name.
 21. Easy. Tell him. ...but don't say it a second time until he says it back to you. It's completely awkward to have someone keep saying "I love you" when you know you can't tell them the same. Just put the ball in his court, and gently drop the subject. That way, he'll know how you feel, but he won't feel too pressured by anything.
 22. Why would you join a site if you do not know what it is for? OtakuBoards (that's where you are right now, reading this page) is a forum. People come here to discuss anime, gaming, music, stories, manga, current events and other things. Each of these topics has its own area. Right now you are in the Suggestions and Feedback board. This is where people ask questions, make suggestions, and discuss other things that are specifically related to the site. myOtaku is closer to mySpace than OtakuBoards is. At myOtaku, you may post a picture of yourself, fill out profile information, and keep a blog. Being a member of myOtaku/theOtaku, you may also post comments on other people's sites, vote on (and submit) fanart, and submit articles, quizzes, wallpapers, e-cards and other things.
 23.
Flag burning? I think it should be totally fine. Look at Nazi Germany. Hitler didn't let his swastika get burned; and we don't want to be like him[/i'], do we?
Dammit Drix, what did I just say? :p
 24. Would Godwin's Law be appropriate at this juncture in the conversation? :p
 25.
ZOMG YES! *turns private messaging off altogether* Problem solved! :toothy: Seriously though, in previous versions of Virtual Bulletin it used to do exactly as Baron described; automatic tracking with no pop-ups. And I always found that to be great, so I wouldn't mind going back to that at all. Problem is, I can't find anything related to message tracking in the admin options. There are some options for what's allowed about PMs themselves, but not a one for the tracking of PMs. So at this point, nothing can be done about the pop-ups.
I remember that; I think you had to tick a little checkbox...or maybe that was just if you didn't want the tracking on. Either way, it was very unintrusive. Anyway, thanks for looking. Pop-ups are not polite web design.
