Yeah, the shape of the face is off. The legs seem odd, too, but I doubt most people would notice that before voting. I like the stripedness of her shirt. ^_^ [edit]: *blinks* The fanart page format is all upside-down, now.

Art Astrological Interpretations in WaterColor
Sara replied to Queen Asuka's topic in Creative Works
Too nifty. I especially love Pisces, with her eyes. Capricorn rocks, too; I love her hair. The irony is, I started working on the same sort of project last month. *grins* Never realized just how large a number twelve can be, heh. -
Originally posted by GreenEyedDragon Peanut butter with assorted foods such as: oreos, celery, apples Ranch with pizza Ketchup with hashbrowns Tomatoes with salt
I've had every one of those, and never thought twice about it. I'd say anything made primarily with potatoes is fair game for ketchup. Fries, hash browns, tater tots... My brother and cousin both put it on mashed potatoes, although I stick with butter and sour cream (or plain yogurt). Ooh, and chives. Chives are good. I think sugar on tomatoes is weird, but my dad likes it. What odd things do I eat, mm... I've added crushed pineapple to leftover rice; that was good. So is rice mixed with milk and cinnamon sugar. I don't know if that really counts as weird, though.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Sara, I notice you always totally ignore fingers on hands... Is this just a style decision or are you just not good at drawing full hands? I know I definitely stink at it, takes me a lot of work heh. I'm just curious.
A little of this, a little of that... I can draw hands, but they frustrate me for a couple reasons: they never look just right, and I can never figure out what to do with them. So I guess lately it hasn't even occured to me to try 'em, heh. I just do the general shape and leave it at that. I suppose I could try drawing something...pfeh. *laughs* I remember talking with one of my friends a couple months ago--she had just pointed out one of my characters didn't have fingers, and I had to laugh. It's true--hands hide behind backs, in oversized sleeves, resting behind legs, even in mittens. Her older brother just started laughing. "Guns," he said. "Freshman year art class, I never drew a single hand--all their arms just ended in really big guns." So that's another way to go about it, heh. It seems to be a universal complaint. If it really bothered me, I would try drawing them more often so I'd be able to do it with more ease, but I like the way my pictures look right now, so I'm not really worried about it. The fact that the winter chika was wearing shorts was kind of a joke. There was a comment on the original sketch. "If it's winter, why does she have so much skin showing? Pfeh, anime." Just fun stuff.
Originally posted by DeathBug I'm currently under the delusion that people in college are more mature and sophisticated than those in high school. I know it's a delusion, but Id' like to be happy with the thought while it lasts...
Brilliant post. *laughs* One girl I've gone to school with for several years (known her since I was five, yikes) moved out to Maine this year to study marine biology. She loves it there (or at least doesn't let on to me that she doesn't.) Everyone else in her class pretty much stayed in Wisconsin. (There were a couple exceptions, but everyone I'm aware of is still in the Midwest.) But, yeah. She found something she loved, and went where she could learn it best. That happened to be a thousand miles away....but I think it's been a really good experience for her. Everything I've heard from her has been positive. (Although I haven't had a lot of chance to talk with her too often recently.) But, yeah. It is possible to go wherever your little heart desires and still keep in contact with your old friends. And you might end up having a fantastic time. While your friends are probably going to be a consideration when you choose a college, don't base your entire decision around them. If another campus offers exactly what you're looking for, go for it. *rolls eyes* Okay, enough advice giving. Now, if I could only make up my own mind, we'd be set!
Originally posted by Ohkami Daine and Numair would have made a good couple, seeing as they both liked each other but thought that they would see differently. I think the relationship could have progressed more. I have an argument for people. Some people think Kel and Cleon make a good couple. Honestly, I think Kel and Neal would make a better couple.
"I can't not be his friend, even if I can't be his love." Kel said that about Neal, and it's a decent quote. Neal and Kel were/are best friends. If they had gone out--what happens when they break up? Do you know how hard it is to be friends with someone you once liked/loved, knowing that's gone? (Remember how Kel
tried to hide from Cleon when she realized that special feeling was gone?
) So, yeah. As much as I love Neal, I would have been upset if he had been paired off with Kel. They fit better as friends. (Honestly, I think if Kel's going to be in another relationship, it's going to be with Dom. He's like Neal Lite. :p) And Daine and Numair--
their relationship did progress more.
I'm not sure what you mean, because you've read Protector of the Small, right? How'd you miss that? Numair even mentions is in Lady Knight (although Kel was teasing him.) Or did you mean youwanted to see more of it in The Immortals? I'm confused.
Originally posted by Ashley_the_blr I loved Lady Knight all the way until the ending. I hate when she does that. She also did the same thing with Trickster's Choice, but at least there we will eventually find out what happens next ,even if we have to wait until October. (I am just grateful she is not like the author Garth Nix. In Lirael, he just made a complete cliffhanger, plus the book was 400 and something pages. Grrrr...)
Havn't read Tricker's Choice yet, although I mean to...sometime soon. (Heheh, Garth Nix. I loved Sabriel and nearly literally fell over when I first saw Lirael at the store. You know what's really bad, though, was how long I had to wait for Philip Pullman's Amber Spyglass after I read Subtle Knife.)

*waves to Baron and Tony* Well, in the vain hope that I might get more input on my pictures than the percentage of people who like them, I'm going to be posting more things here as I do them, I think. This was marker, over an older sketch. Heh, I got a bunch of grey markers for Christmas and I was experimenting with them. By the time I was done with her torso, I was sick of the whole picture...thus the blob-ish feet. Actually, that happens in a lot of my drawings. *rolls eyes* And the attached is a photoshop version (again with the clunky, chunky coloring and outlines, which seems to be my latest phase) of another older sketch. The two creatures are Silé (red) and Espe (blue/green.) They're sort of polar opposites; Silé is quiet (well, silent) and has to do with various depression-ish things. Espe is more innocent/naïve. *laughs* So yeah, that kinda took off from there. It was a very quick picture, but I like how it turned out.

Kevin, Tony, Charles, Sennen, Deb? Aiish. This is quick, and kinda messy...I need sleep, and I'm not staying up much longer. The leader of a Nerd Squad was he once Proclaimed himself their leader--alpha male A certain will he twice over did shun "Beware the Nerds" was his slogan tell-tale. A one-time Pokémod, he roamed the board Of online lore and myth, a sort of sage. A jolly folk, by his close friends adored And much well known, in that now bygone age. .bmp=teh devilness My first photoshopped picture doesn't even bear mentioning. *shrugs* Good first go. The coloring is is actually pretty good--it's just the outline that is really irksome. I like the colors, heh. (I think it would worry me if you had colored one of your pictures brightly.) [random semi-related comment] CGing is just something that evolves with time, I think. Not necessesarily with quality...but different styles, and how people do things.

Willow! Hey. ^_^ I didn't know you were a member here, heh. Heh, I (still) love your drawing style. [We do ask that you don't post just one word at a time, though. Put a little emore into your posts, or you're likely to get in trouble over it. Thanks, heh.]

Most of my friends were seniors last year, so I'm not really upset about leaving myself. It seems sort of anticlimactic, heh. A few of my friends are going to the same college (and all still hang out together, maybe too much) but I don't really know that I want to go there (although it's definitely an option.) I don't know, after a few months of being removed from them, I'm not sure that I want to spend a ton of time with them again. Don't get me wrong, they're great people...but I don't want to spend the rest of my school career hanging out with only the same people I got to know my sophomore year. So I don't know. Everyone manages to keep in touch (to one extent or another) via email and instant messengers, which is nice. I do miss having them around--things just aren't the same, and school seems empty sometimes--but there's not a lot I can do about it. My friend Carr and I may well end up going to the same university, but we probably won't hang out that much. We'd be in different colleges, and I think we're both interested in making new friends. Not that there's anything wrong with the old ones (heh), but it's come up in conversation a couple times, and it seems like we both want to avoid...well, latching onto each other, for lack of a better term. (Sorry, my mind blanked out.) I guess I'm just ready to move on.
Originally posted by Manic I love Burton. He has this interesting way of using colors in his movies. I noticed it when I watched Edward Sciessorhands a couple years ago (pay attention to how bright the houses are, and how colorful the people are compared to Edward).
I have to say I completely agree. (Actually, the colors creeped me out. So bizarrely unnatural.) Heh, I actually found an ad in a magazine that had a blurb about how Tim Burton's least favorite color is yellow. I got such a kick out of that. Like a superstitious painter afraid of offending anything on his palette, Tim Burton politely refrains from picking a favorite color. But ask him about his least favorite and you'll get one impassioned word: yellow. Yellow is an obvious color, says Burton. It simply does not fit in the stories he tells on film, stories of mysterious possibility where the line between fantasy and reality is deliberately blurred...[skipping, skipping...skipping]...But surely there must be another reason, a psychological torment that would create such a powerful emotional response to a mere color. The truth is that Burton hides a deep, dark personal secret about yellow---one that he has never confessed until now. It turns out that, like many teenagers in the 1970s, Mr. Burton made a somewhat dubious fashion choice when he picked out a tuxedo for the prom. Think polyester. Think polyester ruffles. Think bright yellow polyester ruffles. "It was horrible," Burton says. "I looked like a bee, and I acted like Carrie." Heh, that's one of my favorite quotes. But, yeah, I'm fully intending to see this movie as soon as I can. (Carr, want to go with me?) I'll help you with the countdown; we can be twice as annoying!
Originally posted by Carr I thank God repeatedly that Jim Carrey didn't get that part.
Yes.

Quite lovely, Miss Mei. You're right, the edges do go nicely with the white background. I like it the way it is. Simple, pretty, and soft on the eyes. (Although your post itself is hard to read. :p)

The book falls open to a page Marked by butter, dye and age Creased and wrinkled, yet so loved Referenced every year. Wire shapes are rediscovered Revived again from year-long slumber Reindeer, Santa, holly leaves Cookie-cutter Christmas trees. Rolling pins are found again Butter, sugar, shortening Flour coating everything And as the sugar flurries fall It starts to look like Christmas. -
*stares* That was funny. In a bizarre, incredible, what the heck way, that was funny. Turns out, he wasn?t a director at all. He was from some ranch out west. Very bizarre. But I'm still grinning, heh.

*laughs* That was really fun to read. I love it. Kinda sporadic (that seems to be my word of the week...) Anyhow, yeah. Really enjoyable. Our music room is always ten degrees cooler than the rest of the school. I used to keep an extra sweatshirt in my band locker, heh..
Originally posted by Shinmaru Of course, this pissed the hell out of God and he booted Shinny out of the kingdom.
Please excuse me whilst I step out of the room and laugh hysterically. Heh. Okay, let's see. Name: Noel(le) the Minstrel/Actor/Bard Person Age: 17 Weapon: Various musical instruments, all of which are surprisingly resiliant. Kept in a sack across his (her) back. Appearance: About five and a half feet tall, thick dark hair. Slight figure, but agile. Wears colorful clothes. Biography: Noelle fell prey to extreme teen angst at the age of fourteen, when she learned she was betrothed (and three days away from her wedding) to Sir Decrepid, an aging knight. Her exact words were "Screw this." An avid fan of Shakespeare, she decided to run away and join the [strike]circus[/strike] performing troupe that was in town at the time. Unfortunately, no one told her beforehand that girls weren't allowed to be...anything, really. Fortunately, she was a quick thinker. "Hullo, my name's Nöelle, and--" "Nöelle?" the troupe leader interuppted. " 'at's a girl's name!" He sneered. "Girls can't join up, naow." Nöelle blinked. "Nöelle? No, no, my name's Noel. Everyone always gets that wrong!" The man's eyes narrowed. "I t'ought yih said Nöelle." "Why 'ould I say Nöelle when meh name's Noel?" Nöelle asked reasonably, adopting a horrible accent. "I 'on' know. Yih might be a girl tryin' to join up. 'e can't have that, yih know." A second man frowned at her. "I though 'e said Nöelle, too." "No, I didn't," Nöelle said firmly. "Meh name's Noel. 'sides...Nöelle is French." Both men made the Sign of the Coffeecup on their chests. " And if you don't let meh in, you'll get i' trouble fer taking on a French girl. Don't you know we're at war with the French?" "No, we aren't!" said the first man. "We're always at war with the French," Nöelle said quickly. The second man pointed a clumsy finger. "I thought you were Nöelle," he said slowly. "No," Noëlle said easily, "I'm Noel. But we'd better hurry before Nöelle comes and yih both get in trouble fer consortin' wi' teh enemy." Yes, it was true. Much to Nöelle's childhood chagrin, her family was French. Largely because of this flaw, she grew up hating herself. However, upon running away she discovered that she didn't really need to hate herself...it wasn't her fault she hd been born to her stupid French parents. She decided to hate her family instead, which due to the betrothal to Sir Decrepid was pretty easy. Noel[strike]le[/strike] spent the next few years of her life with the performing troupe, most of whom (while not exceptionally bright) were good people. She learned to play several intruments (none of them especially well, although she was decent at the bass flute) and developed the rather annoying habit of sporadically speaking in verse. She named her flute Fauntleroy, and it is her trustiest weapon. She is still prone to occasional fits of teen angst. *laughs softly* That was really fun.
