PoisonTongue?s got about forty hypnotised by his arguments in the Otaku Lounge That's my vote for funniest line. Heh. Solo, I hate to bother you, but can you give me a quick list of staff avatars? I'm getting them a bit muddled. Mmm, heh. Funny funny stuff.
Originally posted by BabyGirl They started making up all of these crazy rules like signs on lockers being fire hazards and such.
Jenna, I just had to quote you--you managed to mention two of my friends' inside jokes within the space of six words. ("signs on lockers" and "fire hazards," although I'm sure it doesn't make sense to you, heh.) My school isn't strict, exactly. They have a lot of rules, but very few people follow them, anyway. They aren't really enforced, except by the chemistry teacher.
Originally posted by ChibiHorsewoman Christianity can't be mocked
*faintly amused* In any case... I don't profess to know a great deal about any religion other than the one I've been studying for the last twelve years of my life. I do, however, believe that Wicca attracts more than its fair share of young people not interested in the beliefs so much as what they feel it stands for--be that standing up to their parents, taking part in something outside the norm, or whatever else. It's unfortunate, perhaps, but the impression remains that all followers/practioners (I don't know that I have the right term) are rebellious teens who don't take it seriously.

I am still laughing about your caption. "One big puff of cotton candy..." Heheh. Very spiff. Almost painfully cute.

Dude. Those are teh spiff. Seriously. I love the stance of the second one, and the outfit and whatever. It's very cool.

My sister and I periodically get each other that sort of book for gifts. If you're just wondering which to get, my suggestion would be to go to Waldenbooks or Suncoast or some such place, and browse through a couple of them. See which has the most of what you're interested in. If Amazon has got the prices you're looking for, by all means, order there....but if you can, take a look at a hard copy some place. You'll get a better idea of what you're looking for and what you're getting.

You can read the story here. So I suppose I don't really know what to do with this. I typed it up one evening, after having had the story stuck in my head for a while. There's a lot of things left open-ended. It's meant to seem in the middle of a story, and there really aren't definitive answers to most of the questions I suppose someone would ask. No, the characters don't have names. I don't know who sent Thorn (although that's only her taken name, apparently--not her given one, which looks to start with an L.) I don't know why she's there. I don't know why J----- was startled at the symbol on her knife; nor do I know how she and the second man knew each other. Miss Tori commented that one of the characters reminds her of James, which made me smile, because reading it, J----- does remind me of James, in an odd sort of way. It's probably the designation letter that does it, but nevertheless. I'm really not particularly pleased with the way I told it. The first part--with the girl alone--I like, but I think it's very weak after J----- first comes in. I don't have any particular ideas as to why, or how to change it, but I suppose I'll keep the story on hand and work on it again eventually. In any case... Questions, comments...what have you. Any input would be interesting.

I think my brother has all of them. I read them as he got them. We used to joke that the series would eventually end simply because Wooding would run out of characters to kill off. He sure did get himself into a nasty habit of killing off most of my favorite characters. Granted, they didn't always stay dead, but you know.
Originally posted by Queen Asuka And Kenneth, they're not worth anything anymore, I don't think...
*amused* They're worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them. Flip the cat, for example, is worth at least one dollar, seeing as that's what you bid for him. I just realized that I actually have some other beanie babies right now--it seems that I collect monkeys, and I have three or four monkey-shaped ones. Hm, are there any pandas out? Because pandas are cool as well, heh.
Originally posted by .h4ck i think its good for them, they are human. But if they hit on me...well that all i got to say about that
You probably don't have to worry about that.

I know a couple people who collect them. I like the candy, but I could never figure out how to get it into the little dispenser. My mom had to do it for me for years...well, when we got it, anyway. I think she purposely avoided it for that reason, heh. I don't imagine that she was very keen on buying candy she had to help her daughter eat. *amusement*

I had several of the cats--Zip, Snip, Flip, maybe Nip...I don't know, all their "ip" names got a bit muddled in my mind. I remember giving the things as gifts sometimes--they were only five dollars, and everyone seemed pleased with them, heh. After a little while, I gave all of my better-condition ones to a local secondhand toy shop. I think I still have the coolio dragon one, though. Scorch? Yeah. He is utterly spiff.

If you were turned into an action figure
Sara replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Naturally, there would be many different "versions" of the Sara doll/action figure/what have you, including OtakuBoards Sara (with a retired "Cera" version rumored to have been manufactured up to a year ago) and a bizarre "Tangerine Ranger" version, which no one here woud understand except Carr. So for now we'll stick with the "Drama Gal" incarnation of everyone's favorite Super...moderator...ess. Yeah. Ahem. This product would be based on Sara's non-internet pastimes, including reading, drawing, and the like. (Perhaps more accurately titled "Fine Arts Sara," but since when have toy names been accurate?) The body would be reminiscent of those drawing manikins available at your local arts and crafts store. She would come with a canvas bag/backpack which would house her various accessories, including:

Dictionary
Notebook and sketchbook, both half-filled with stories, ramblings, and scribbles
Various pens and pencils
Her latest reading material
A script for a play (or musical)
Several broken watches
A tin of Altoids
And, of course, Ninja Leaves of Death (Some shuriken-esque pieces of metal cleverly disguised as semi-innocuous-looking leaves)
She would have a regular-sized (that is, about her own height) calligraphy-esque pen, which she would be able to fly on, much as more mundane witches use brooms. (Merchandise cannot actually fly, although the commercials would do their darnedest to convince you otherwise.) Naturally, there would also be a cute sidekick creature. Possibly a small, hyperactive blue raccoon. Possibly a silent flying with paintbrushlike ears and tail, and possibly a strange creature called a nother, which actually looks like the former except more aquatic. This model would also be available (for a limited time) with clarinet and some sheet music. The canvas bag would have an extra strap which can easily (or not so easily, depending on your level of accessory expertise) be converted to a stylish belt capable of holding any number of nifty gadgets, including pens, pencils, etc. Details on the outfit itself are still sketchy (ha!) at this time, but we'll keep you filled in. Heh, we watched Muzzy in German I my freshman year. It was great. I remember seeing--maybe in an "about the author" blurb in a Fear Street or Goosebumps book--that RL Stine was something to do with Eureka's Castle, and I thought it was the coolest thing, heh.
Originally posted by Epid3mic There was also another one with this old gnome. Does anyone remember that? It was like this gnome with a beard, I think he was married too. He used to do stuff, I guess gnome stuff I don't really remember.
David the Gnome! Ahahah, I remember that show. I used to watch a ton of TV when I was little. Heh. Eureka's Castle was one of my favorites, although I don't think I actually got to watch it what much. Another show I loved was Fraggle Rock. I mean...it was just so cool, heh. Manic, you get a shiney gold star, heh. And a good-natured smack upside the head, because the elephant song is now stuck in my head, and it won't go away. And I loved the Skinamarink song with a passion. Heh, "I love you in the morning, and in the afternoon..." Let's see, what else. I haven't wondered about the original Barney cast for a while, but I remember wondering about it a few years ago. (Four or five years ago?) I never had any particular liking for the show (You hit the nail on the head, he changed the words to my songs, heh), but I had two younger siblings and my mom ran an in-house daycare... Wow. That was a while ago, heh. I also loved the Pinwheel song, although I don't particularly remember seeing the show. That's curious....ah, well. "Pinwheel, pinwheel, where have you been? Hello, how are you, and may I come in?" Does anyone remember seeing the Pink Panther stuff? I was really surprised when I started seeing Pink's merchandise recently. Not dismayed, exactly, but definitely surprised, heh. He was so cool. (On a less-than-cartoon note, has anyone seen the movies about the diamond?) Ooh--what about The Getalong Gang? I think...there were a bunch of animals who had their clubhouse in...a caboose? Heh. They were another favorite of mine. (I must have gone through a lot of phases to have been so obsessed with so many different shows...) I loved the Ghostbusters cartoon. I thought (at one point, at least, heh) that it was the greatest thing ever, and I watched it almost religiously. TMNT was another show in that vein that I just adored. I remember getting up early and watching Garfield and Friends every morning. (My little brother does the same thing now, which kind of freaks me out, to be honest.) Heh, Garfield...good times, that was. And, and, and....ALF, and Raggedy Ann and Andy, and Beetlejuice and Alvin and the Chipmunks and the California Raisin guys, and Looney Tunes, and Chip and Dale--Rescue Rangers (Ch-ch-ch-chip 'n Dale!), and Zoobilly Zoo (With Lookout Bear and Bravo fox and everyone?), and Saved by the Bell (loved that show) and the Smurfs and that show that everyone swears I'm making up, about Mario and Luigi, and Mighty Mouse, and Darkwing Duck, and Pound Puppies (Heh, a tv show and stuffed animals), and My Little Pony and Sesame Street, and Land of the Lost, and Ducktales, and Ballooner Landing, and Mister Rogers (Special Delivery!), and Happy Days and Muppet Babies (did I already mention them?) and Gumby and that one show about all these girls with freakishly long hair, and, and, and......I watched far too much television as a child, didn't I?

Faith.. you?re driving me away You do it everyday You don?t mean it but it hurts like hell. I've hardly heard any of these songs before, so I don't pretend to know much about them, heh. These couple lines caught my attention, though. Sometimes when you care about someone, you're too close to realize they don't care about you (anymore). And the little things they do or say (that remind you they don't care) hurt enough to kill you. Eh, anyway. It's nothing long or remarkable, but that's what I thought of. -
Just pointing out that I read this, and it amused me, and if I weren't so sick I would have something more to comment about. Interesting/amusing. And short, which was nice, because I was dreading opening this thread and finding several pages worth of something.
