My brother recommended their self-titled album to me, so we went halves in it, and bought it the other day. I was pretty happy with the result. Kings of Leon are a Californian four-piece, I'm pretty sure, and they're damn cool. They sound like a cross between the Strokes and Cake, in a sort of abstract sense. But yeah, some of it is damn funky, so if anyone else has heard of them, tell me what you think?

Just adding on to my other crud. Walkabout by the RHCP is something I would like to say reflects myself when I'm in my soul searching mood. Breakout by the Foo Fighters would also be another one. People make me crazy.
-
Stereo by the Watchmen if I remember correctly, which I probably don't. But, its good stuff anyway.

My weird dreams have nothing on raven's, but they're pretty fecking wacked up. This is the craziest one I can remember. I was a jellyfish for no reason, and I lived in town. All the roads were rives of water, that were incredibly deep. My family were humans and were the family from the movie Rat Race, quite strange. But it becomes worse. The kids and me were swimming in one of the roads, when all of a sudden a shark came out of nowhere and started chasing us. The kids got away, and I jumped up onto the land after them, but then so did the shark. So I lept back into the water. I tried to sting it but my "stingers" weren't working. It chased me some more, and everytime I looked behind me, it just bobbed up and down, with its mouth open on in a perfect circle. It looked like a cardboard cut-out. Then it just went away. Yeah, then I woke up.

I need friends with similar interests, stlye and mental capacity. I realised just the other day, while I was downtown with some friends of mine, that they need to be funny. I was extremely bored while I was there and the jokes they were making didn't do anything for me at all. I can't hang around with people who are overly serious, or have a shithouse sense of humour. I also have to have something in common with people I'm with, other wise there is no common ground and all you do is talk about crap that niether of you really care about.

most of the time, it depends what mood I'm in, or what I am doing. I am very happy to just sit around alone and listen to some music, thats easily one of the best ways I waste my time. On the other hand, sometimes I just have to be sociable and be with someone. I generally don't care, but I sometimes find myself wanting to be with a person, just to hang around with...well most of the time. Yeah, I, guessing most people are like that though.

Most Influential Person in your Life
Jesus Chicken replied to Patronus's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, Besides memembers of my family, I would have to say it would be: Flynn, Mj and Dave Grolh. Sure I haven't met the last guy, but he is easily one of the coolest people to have ever existed. Flynn is the person I have known the longest for, outside my family. so obviously he is going to be a big one. And Mj is a new one, I've only known him for about 4 years now, but I swear we are slowly becoming slightly twisted versions of each other, which is fine with me. yeah. -
Originally posted by lea2385 hmm....well, i love babies!! ^_^ so, i think i want to be a maturnity nurse ^_^
Hehehe...thats great. You sure you don't want to be a catholic priest?*cough*:naughty:  *cough* fantastic. Anyways, I am going to be a drummer, for a really kick *** rock band. Thats would be absolutely brilliant. I play everday for about an hour at minimum, so I'm happy with how thats going. If that don't happen. Either a teacher or a psychologist would be my career path. Sure its not fame and fortune and all that stuff, but I'd be more then happy with it.

I'd have to say cool is all a personal opinion thing. Everybody thinks something different about what is cool. Some people, for instance think sitting at a computer is cool. Some people think acting tough and driving around in a **** car is cool. But most people are idiots. I'd have to say the closets definition is cool, is Christopher Walken's character in the movie Pool-Hall Junkies. Go see that movie. Incredibly cool.

Well, I don't really know if anyone has been a huge inspiration to me, simnply because I don't really know these people that well. But someone who's name shall remain diclosed unless you really want to know, then you can PM me. Anyway, this person has inspired me not to be a wanker and I thank him for that. If anyone wants to inspire me, feel free and show me your stuff. If your lucky I might edit you in.

Crazy people. Well the name Jesus Chicken came to while watching the Harlequin play FF7, I think it was. I watched him ride around on a Chocobo for a while, and in that period, I saw him lead it over some water, which it simply walked over. At this time, I felt the need to yell out "ITS A JESUS CHICKEN!!!" For a while myself and Flynn laughed hysterically and obviously I have used the name since. My real name is JACK Gleeson. I have no idea what it means, as far as old stuff goes. OF course there is the obvious, Car Jack reference to be made, along with many other things that aren't right. If anyone knows what my name means, please, do tell.

I'll have six grains of salt. Ok thats it, from now on, if someone reads my poems, I would like some feedback. I would prefer that its manditory. I'm sick of you dirty fiends reading it and taking it in and not telling me what you think! I don't care if you call it the worst poem you've ever read, just as long as you give me a reason. So please, everyone else, tell me what ye be thinking, OK? A small request. Steve, yeah it is the whole unrequited love thing, but that's kinda obvious, so only half a point there. Well I'm glad you didn't hate it, so thats always good. Unless you did hate it, but were to tired to put it in.yeah. -
Well harpiesbrother1, you really have to watch out for thoe monks when they wack-off. If you don't believe me, check his post. Sorry, stupid joke. Anyway, I would have to say that crazy people see things. People who are crazy or tired or have long hair think they see things. Generally these are tricks of people's mind and they take things seriously. Trust people to make things seem more serious then they really are. I think angels and such are a strange hope that most people have. People feel alone, and want to think there is somethint out there. If it gives you hope, sure thats fine with me, but you are ALL going to die, alone and cold, with no good figure watching over you... Sorry, I feel like being a dick.

I'd have to say, I honestly think that Wrist Cutter's is anally retentive, so he didn't get it. Charlie's one is kinda lame so therefor Sara gets mine.

Yeah, the title is a Josh Homme quote. This is another poem I wrote a couple of seconds ago... It's called Colour Wonderful "Everybody is looking for what they don't need, but nobody needs to know, Everybody wants to see the ice-cream wind blow, Snow flakes on face, melting on my touch, slowly, smoothly falling it might as well be me on your skin, All my time is taken up doing this I don't want to do, but everybody is doing it now, doing the things I want to do, I'm forgetting how, White wings taking me to another place, one I'd rather be, one of happiness and joy, one where your face is all I see, but it twists and turns and screams for me to leave, shocked I quickly step away, yet, I'm sure I'll return the next day, I can't forget you" Any Opinions would be great...

Yeah, this looks pretty damn cool. I rather enjoyed the first one. I was of the opinion that Harry would have become the new villain in the 2nd Spidey movie, but obviously not. Hmm, perhaps they will just have Harry running around looking for Spiderman in this movie, as a sort of sub-story line. Who knows? I would be very happy if they got Vin Diesel to be Venom, but I would be even happier if Venom was the next bad dude. He is easily the coolest villain from the whole series.

Yeah Manic, I remember them. They made a small reference to them right at the begninning of Muppets from Space. Anyway, I love the muppets. I'm so glad someone made a thread about them. Animal actually inspired me to be a drummer. So yeah, hes definatley one of my favourites. Along with him, I really like Beaker, as he always gets hurt, Gonzo because he is so damn cool and The Swedish Chef because he got strangled by his noodles, did anyone see that sketch? I thought the guys on the balcony were called Heckler and Jeckler...Oh well, they are hilarious anyway.

Hmm, I have plenty of bands that I like over others. Right now, my favourite bands (with song) would be: Tool - Lateralis The White Stripes - Ball and a Biscuit (FECKING BRILLIANT!) The Beatles - Yer Blues Queens of the Stone Age - God is in the Radio Powderfinger - Belter Radiohead - There There Yeah...all of those bands are damn good, so any of their songs would be more then enough for me.
-
The thing that scares me the most about the future of music, which is something I was thinking about a week before this thread came up. Crazy huh? ANY-way my fear would be that rock loses it's appeal and all people start listening to is R&B, Rap, Pop ****, and all that other music that sounds the same. There seem to be a few rock bands out there who seem to be experimenting slight, Radiohead for example. They have truly branched out into a different side of rock. No, I really think things will slowly change, as they have been since music began. There have been a few jumps here and there, but mostly it's been pretty gradual. Kind of like evolution when you think about it...Slow and steady.

If we're talking performing in general. Don't sweat it. Trust me, I know, I have been doing performancy crap since I was about 5 or 6. If you're talking music performances in gerenal, don't sweat it either. Trust me, I've been doing music performancy crap in general since I was in grade 5 or 6. If you're talkign drumming with music (hich you obviously are), don't sweat it. I've been doing that crap for about 5 or 6 years. so yeah.... Are you noticing the pattern there?

Great, I'm glad you feel kinda depressed by my poetry, it's what I set out to do. I wrote some dirty rock to go with the lryics, and I shall go and set it all up when I feel like it, but it has been started.
-
Hmm...I like it man. It's nice and original, speaks the truth, for sure. I would have to say that this is your view of the world. I certainley would prefer a dream to the current situation. But a dream is nowhere near as good as reality. It's all superficial sure, but every now and then, you find something here in reality, be it a song, a person, or a book that makes it all worth while, and thats why I'm still here. Well done.

I really want to punch that retard in the face. I'm sorry if anyone thinks this is a good idea, but if you do, I want to punch you in the face, you retard. This is one of the stupidest things I've read in a while, and I've read Harry Potter! That guy should be shot, or something. Seriously, he is is one of those people that get awards for killing themselves, simply because they have stopped their genes from passing on.

I would really like to set it to a really dirty bluesy rock riff. Have you heard "Ball and a Biscuit" by The White Stripes? Something like that would be absoulutely sweet. I love dirty rock.
