One of the two shows on Nick that I enjoy watching otherwise I'd never even turn that channel on. They need to bring Invader Zim back bad 'cause I miss it so :( the only show that I watch besides Fairly OddParents is SpongeBob. My favorite episode is when they're playing Timmyball and his mom teaches the dentist and his son how to play in the end. But I still wish they'd bring back Zim and play more of the classic stuff like AAAHH!!! Real Monsters, The Angry Beavers and Rocko's Modern Life which were the three shows that actually got me to turn Nickelodeon on.

I'd have to go with the game that got the addiction burning in me Chrono Trigger. I made fun of my little brother for playing this game (silly rpg's) but after he went to bed I decided to try it out and was still playing the next morning when he got up. It was the first game that had characters I actually wanted to remember with pasts I wished to explore. Combined with its awesome battle system (gotta love the techs) with various attacks and multiple character attacks it was the game that started me on more then just the basic platform and fighter type games. My second choice would be Skies Of Arcadia it was a true change of pace from the the rpg's I had played at the time and though it had an overbundance of random battles it had a great storyline and fun characters to add to your party. It's only bad point was it was released on the DC so many people never got the chance to play it or even hear of it but there is some hope since it was re-released on the NGC that some more people actually get to play it but I truly wish they would have released it on more systems. Coming in third will be Suikoden III another complete change of pace for me with so many differences to what I'd played at the time. The storyline left me in awe you could see it from three to four different view points played in whatever order you desired (well almost). The multitude of playable characters is what really made it shine though so many different choices and background adventures recruiting them or even just meeting them at first made it one of my favorites. My fourth and final game on this list will be FFIX though FFVII was the first game I played in this series IX will always be my favorite. It contained a very enjoyable story for me trying to make it through the play at the begining was a joy itself no matter what the outcome ended up. The graphics were beautiful and the cut scenes just blew me away to me it will always be the FF before the tedium of voice actors and loss of the super deformed character.

Gaming Final Fantasy X-2: I need the down low... is it all girl power?
Ben Holiday replied to Kent's topic in Noosphere
Think of it this way even if it turns out upon release to be pure fan service on the plus side the new flashy graphics and cinematics will get a whole new generation of girls and boys playing rpg's. We all had to start playing somewhere and even if we don't like this sequel we can always look forward to FF12 and hope it shines in a way that X and X-2 didn't. I look at X-2 as something I most likely won't enjoy since I couldn't get into X even after playing through twice. But I also see it as having some interesting additions. Like the costume changes I don't have any desire to dress up a trio of girls in various risque clothing but I've always enjoyed rpg's with characters who's looks change when you upgrade armor and weapons. The job system will also be a nice returning feature anything that adds more depth and longetivity to the gameplay in my opinion is a good thing. P.S. Yes I know I didn't really state anything new or answer anyones questions just felt like stating my opinion.:box: -
But the whole point is Toriyama wants to put it to rest it all ended long ago for him and he went on to other things. I'd be plenty upset to see someone taking my work and trying to establish themselves with it especially when you see it going in a direction you never wanted it to go. They should just respect his wishes and let him continue his other works without any more interuptions he seems happy doing manga and video games he's moved on and so should everyone else. : - ) (Just my two cents)

There are very few episodes with Goku running around helping dinosaurs or running away like a scared kid. DragonBall has a lot more depth to the characters and they all have a reason for being there instead of the cameo appearances they recieve in DBZ. The fighting is also better oriented with nice fact that everyone can still be beaten here it's all pre-goldilocks there's no uber powers they keep them fairly even. But when a stronger power does appear there's actually a storyline to it and how they will defeat it. The humor is the true gem of the series though the first thirteen episodes being the most humorous of the whole series in my opinion. But even in later episodes when it get turned down just a notch it's still all there and very enjoyable.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Ben Holiday replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
I'm sorry if this was answered already here but I can't read back through that many posts but will Zoid Chaotic Century ever be coming back? 'Twas one of my favorite shows and I'd really like to see it all the way through for once so any info is appreciated. -
My god I can't believe someone else has actually watched this show finally. I tried to start a discussion on it before and not a single response. But on to the topic at hand the art style completely blew me away the first time through it's one of my favorite things about the show. My second favorite thing would was the storyline you were left trying to put the pieces together and I had to watch it through a couple times myself to get it all. Though a bit twisted there at the end with his sister all in all it was a very cool series.

You should also look at X it's one of the better series as well as 0079 and Z. X deals with what if they had dropped colonies on earth and is pretty cool it contains a good storyline and characters. But if you wan't the more philisophical stuff go with 0079 and Z.

There is a fairly good mod for Quake III called Bid For Power that includes many DBZ type areas. It also has character pack with Goku, Gohan, Krillin, Frieza, Piccolo and Vegeta. Though it's a couple years old now it is still quite good each character has 5 personalized attacks based on what they had from the shows.

I am not too sure how much he has contributed or of what he has done since but I've always liked Hiroyuki Yamaga for The Wings Of Honneamise. Isao Takahata is another director that should definitely be on the list for his work on NausicaƤ, Grave of the Fireflies and a few episodes of Lupin III to name a few. You can't really list Miyazaki without Takahata they always seem to have a hand in the majority of each others projects since The Adventures of Hols, Prince of the Sun.

I remember the mice: "Look I think they're trying to tell us something, lets follow them". I also remember the stupid car version I hated that toy. I musn't forget the robeasts either "Of course the process can be reversed".

You're really being quite rude and I don't know what it's like in your own country but in America we have a DBZ manga. Seriously I'm looking at the first three editions while I'm typing this I purchased these about two years back so they've been around for awhile.

As much as I disliked it the first time through my favorite would have to be Gundam X. It had very memorable characters with a fairly good storyline. The only thing that mildly bothered me about X was that the three main gundams just never seem as cool as all their opponets for some reason all the gundams and mobile suits of their enemies just looked a hell of a lot cooler IMHO. My second favorite would have to be Gundam Z just based on the fact that it had the best ending that I have seen for any of the shows (so far). Watching my favorite characters fighting on the same side in this installment was really great too if only just too see them fight better and out fly Kamille while piloting mobile suits. I also liked that gundams were still just as easy to destroy as mobile suits I always like it much more if having a gundam doesn't mean you're invincible.

You lied man! You said this was a DB faq (rackin frackin). Seriously though if you're going to create a new faq break it up into three parts since all three shows were very different works and do not really belong heaped together IMHO.
-
NO! This series was finished up many years back so there will be no new series created in the either the DB/Z/GT universes. I am fairly sure Toriyama would want no new DB series created as well.
-
Well the only dvd's with the first 13 episodes I have been able to find is the two dvd set called The Saga Of Goku is there another besides this? Because that set is completely edited and only dubbed.

Gaming *Drools* Pics of the new Transformers G-1 game for PS2....
Ben Holiday replied to Jinzouningen17's topic in Noosphere
Looks good hopefully this will come stateside. Hopefully it will also have the gameplay to actually make it to. -
Jinzouningen17, Do you really think they finally have the originals and will redub the first season of DBZ? If so do you think they will do the same for DB as well? IMHO the first seasons of both shows were the best and funniest and its always sucked that we couldn't get them in the US it'd be nice to finally see them (not that I haven't already seen them it would just be nice to get a hold of uncut and digitally remastered editions).

(Sorry about that I didn't realise that there was a regular movie discussion area, my bad.) (and now that i've edited this post and gone and taken alook I don't see how I missed it, it's right up at the friggin' top) This is a Mamoru Oshii film if this helps anybody out. About a womans journey to the highest level of the game.
-
This movie was pretty sweet and the ending was cool. Has anybody else seen this or have any info about the people who made it? It looked like the greatest game of all time and the graphics for it were decent. It's all about an illegal vr game and one of the top players.
-
I think X was a great show even if it did keep wandering off the main storyline and throw to much attention to the gundams. That's probably why Enil El and Lancerow Dagwell are my favorite mobile suit pilots in this series.
-
For me 0079, Z and X where my favorites. They just had better characters with more interaction between them and great storylines. Also in these shows mobile suits still had the power to defeat gundams in battle instead of just getting destroyed whenever a gundam appears.

IGN.COM has a new preview out for this and some pics. Though you do have to wade through all their ads.

I finally managed to get a good amount of play in yesterday and most of today. I was very surprised at how good the trinity system is. You'd think it'd be more of a hassle then it's worth but it's actually really cool to go through the different viewpoints of Chris, Hugo and Thomas. I'm saving Geddoe for the final. But I started off with Chris up to Ch.1 then switched off to Hugo till Ch.2 then Thomas up to Ch.1 and then back to Hugo for his final chapter till the choice. I was also surprised at how the same areas you traveled through with one character would spawn different monsters for other characters. At least until their levels were about equal and then youd usually run into about the same types of creatures. It's alot better then I thought it would be definitely one of the top rpg's for this system. It completely sucked me in once I got going I got a full 25 hours of continous play play between yesterday and today.

Well I usually see the uncut dvd's going for about $20.00 U.S. so that'd be about $30.00 Canadian. The vhs cartoon network versions usually sell for $10.00 U.S. so bout $15.00 Canadian. Don't know any good stores to order them from though just look for a good canadian bank site when you need to do conversions most will have a changer located on their site somewhere.
