Most of the members of CTU were gathered up together in the conference room to hear the answers of the three suspects read by Grape Ape. After finishing up the last set of answers, Grape Ape wanted to hear our opinions on who we thought was the possible suspect. I was eager to voice my opinion, but was a little hesitant since I thought my opinion would be too simplistic. However, being simple is who I am, and so I stood up from my chair and cleared my throat. ?Suspect # 3 seems to be the one that is the most suspicious to me out of the three suspects. The suspect shows a little bit of fear when it comes to protecting a fallen comrade in battle. The person even prefers to use a deadly bomb in the battlefield that can harm many innocent civilians over a stuffed rabbit and a knife. Also, the suspect likes to roll around in mud and get dirty. Most importantly, he/she even likes to ogle at cats, which is what the smelly terrorist leader Charles fond the most. Clearly, these are definitely characteristics of a terrorist. " I looked down to the table as if I was confused, "However, the person just seems too obvious and a simple minded person like me does not know how to look deep into these answers. Grape Ape stated that the real suspect may end up being a surprise and so there is a great possibility that the real traitor could be any of the other two suspects. Therefore, I ask you my highly intellectual comrades, which suspect do you think is the traitor?? Being very anxious to hear what others had to say, I immediately sat down back in my chair and awaited for someone else to voice their opinion.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that. Now it makes sense, I?m guessing that after Samus uses her Final Smash (the new super move), she will have to fight the remaining round as Zero Suit Samus. Or maybe it?s just some other type of condition that will make her change into Zero Suit Samus. As for Sonic, I think he?ll definitely be in the game this time. If he is going be in the game, it will be awesome to finally get the chance to pit Mario and Sonic against each other and duke it out. ;)

Time for some new updates. :) Crates and barrels are now funner than ever, because according to the website, these items will now have different appearances to blend in with the mood of certain stages. Also, crates can now slide along with barrels, which I think is a brilliant idea since it could change up the gameplay a little. As for characters, the legendary Samus makes a return and is now shinier than ever. And I guess that means that Samus and Zero Suit Samus will be two different playable characters instead of just one as I originally thought. I love all the little details that have gone into this game so far, and visually speaking, Brawl is looking really good. And White, those are some neat costume ideas you got there. Raccoon Mario would be pretty fun to play around with. I really hope that Nintendo/Hal do add in some kind of character customization mode to change the character appearances instead of letting us change their colors.

Art The Desktop Screenshots/Wallpapers Thread [image heavy]
Treble replied to DeadSeraphim's topic in Creative Works
Here?s my desktop: I don?t know who the artist is, but whoever it was, he/she did a fantastic job drawing the boxers. It?s a plain background, but it expresses a lot of emotions. -
It?s probably not that old school, probably made in the 90?s, but I have to go with Hajime no Ippo (Fighting Spirit). Watching young Makunouchi Ippo go from wimp to boxing feather weight champion was truly remarkable for me. Nearly all of the fights in the anime were exciting to watch and were well animated. Also, all of the great characters (Sendo, Takamura, Miyata, etc.) and comedic moments throughout the anime made it even more enjoyable for me. It?s a simple anime that is still enjoyable to rewatch over and over.

As much as I would love to see a newer and better fighting engine, I don?t think Capcom is going to change the gameplay engine for this game. At least not yet. My theory is that Capcom is probably going to use this game as a test to see if gamers are still into Street Fighter, and takes notes for the rumored Street Fighter IV. Also, I?m pretty sure all those ?hardcore? Street Fighter II fans would be upset if Capcom changes the gameplay engine. Anyway, just thought I update this thread with more character sprites that have been revealed on one of Capcom?s blog sites. http://blogs.capcomusa.com/blogs/digital.php?cat=96 Akuma?s comparison pic: And here?s an interesting quote from the blog:
?Yes, these are actual frames of animation from the game, meaning Akuma will look like this in the game, only animated.?
Ken: Looks promising so far, and I have to say UDON is doing a wonderful job taking their time to redraw the sprites.

I don?t own a Nintendo DS either, but one of the greatest things about the DS is that it is backwards compatible with the GBA. Therefore, I think the original Advance Wars on GBA would be a fun game for you and it should be pretty cheap to find used nowadays. It?s a turn based strategy game that revolves around war. With anime-ish like characters, you control your own army commanding them where to go to prevent enemies from taking over a territory. I admit, it does takes a little bit of time to get to used to the controls, but it should be fairly simple to get used to. However, if you only want DS games, then you could always pick up Advance Wars: Dual Strike for the DS which I?m pretty sure should be faithful to the original game that I cherish so much. Also, I second the Mario Kart DS recommendation. I play it every now and then on my friend?s DS, and I think it?s the best Mario Kart yet. Plus it?s a good game to get into right away for a long flight.

Request OtakuBoards Newspaper Banner Request
Treble replied to Aaryanna_Mom's topic in Creative Works
I'm not a graphic artist either, but I thought I give it a try. It's kind of plain in my opinion, but I like it. Plain and simple. Well, here it is Edit: I had to edit out my original version of the banner since I misspelled the word "source" in the banner, and so I redid the banner again. -
After hearing Grape Ape?s announcement, I curled in both of my hands and slam them down on the table where Mother?s delicious chocolate cupcakes were placed on. ?Which son-of-a-monkey doodles could be working for those cruel terrorists?!? I shouted furiously. Upon hearing what I said, Agent Mother putted a halt to her cooking activities and walked over to the table that I was standing near by. Being the caring mother that she is, Mother calmly said ?Watch that mouth young man. I know we?ve been through a lot lately, but you should not let your temper get to you.? I looked down in shame ?Yes mam, I know, but to find out that there has been a spy among us is rather troubling to me. All of our activities have been closely observed from this traitor, and if he/she manages to escape from our base and leak valuable information to our opposing force, they may have the upper hand in our next battle.? Mother knew I was frustrated with this matter, and gently looked at me in the eyes. "Gadget, while I feel the same way, I am certain that we will be able to catch this traitor. As a team, we worked together and easily defeated those dirty terrorists in our first battle, and it will be no different in this upcoming round.? I was moved by Mother's inspiring speech, and my frustration slowly began to fade away. ?You?re right Agent Mother. There?s no way that spy can get away from our highly intellectual team. And with the legendary Otaku Triad back in action, we will be a force to be reckon with.? Mother nodded in agreement. ?Now that?s the spirit!? I smiled at Mother and firmly said ?Agent Mother, I get this nurturing feeling whenever I talk to you or hear you speak. You remind me of my own mother in that you have a way with your words that anyone will be willing to listen to. For that reason, I would like you to be CTU?s spokesperson for this intense interrogation.? Mother smiled back at me, ?Thank you, now go eat some of the chocolate cupcakes to get some energy, and be sure to save some for the others and the new recruits.? My eyes widened ?Oh yeah! I didn?t get a chance to greet any of the new recruits yet.? I quickly grabbed some of the chocolate cupcakes and ran out of the kitchen room to greet some of the newer recruits that were standing around. It also seemed like some of the newer recruits were already getting themselves acquainted with some of the older members. With everyone getting along just fine, I decided to return back to my room to think about possible suspects in our CTU unit.
I heard that 2007DigitalBoy was a complete douche! :p But after admitting my obseession, I still think it's not a good idea. But still we should have a hentai form. Damn it all to hell, now I'm confused...
The fact that you are confused as to what you really want shows how wrong it is to have hentai here. If hentai can mess with the minds of young ones, then I am afraid that hentai does not belong here on OB.
I honestly don't see the big problem about this whole hentai forum deal. I mean come on, quit being such republicans. Since when is it wrong to enjoy some good old fashion girl-on-girl-on-demon-on-rapist action? You're all so old fashioned. Regardless, we could still keep the youngin's, just make the forum itself limited to only specifically registered members. Sure, some of them could lie, but who the hell cares? It's nothing they wouldn't see in a Google search...
Being old-fashioned is what keeps this place together. Just because a member may be able to find nude images through Google, we should not endorse it here on OB, afterall, this is a family-oriented site. It is better safe, than sorry.
As for the big banners, since when hasn't bigger automatically been better? Never. It always has been better. The only thing better than a pretty banner is a HUGE pretty banner. Quit supressing the artistic creation of our art community by censoring their might NEED to go beyond the borders of your sizest standards. The time has come to literally expand our artistic borders. As you can see now, I refuse to have a banner until these demands are met and I am allowed to have atleast a 600x1000 banner... I call for a PROTEST! All members in favor follow me!
As Shy have already mentioned, I am one of those poor souls who is still stuck on 56k connection. So for me, bigger is not better. It makes loading painful to sit through. While I could always go to my options and turn off signatures to make things load faster, I choose not to since I enjoy looking at the unique banners made by members here. I may be willing to wait for the loading times now, but if we were to allow bigger banners, the longer loading times would drive me away along with many other 56kers.
P.S. I think that Jake Gyllenhaal is Spiderman's stunt double in SM3 lolz
It's funny how you brought that up, because I remember reading an article stating that Jake Gyllenhaal was going to be Spiderman if Tobey Maguire chose not to do Spiderman 3. Luckily Tobey returned for Spiderman 3, because I don?t think Jake can emulate Tobey?s funky dancing moves from that movie. As for Shia Labeouf, I'm not to familiar with him, but like you, I'm looking forward to Transformers. Although the production to this movie may be taking forever, I have high hopes that this movie will meet fans' expectations. Hopefully the movie will have a lot of heart pounding action scenes to enjoy.

The presence of a cocky person like Rai al Haswiri is rather disturbing to stand close to. The gibberish that came out of that man?s mouth was so terrifying that I had to look the other way whenever he spoke.
-
lol, Nomura, I?m pretty sure everyone had their own struggles with peeing when they were young. Oh yeah, that reminds me, when I was in 1st grade I was always terrified by the teacher?s assistant. She was short, fat, and always had a mean face as if her life was miserable. Well one day I accidently drop a piece of chalk on the floor and the teacher assistant ran towards me and yelled at me. I just stood there and peed my pants out of fear. There were probably some other embarrassing childhood moments in my life, but that one stood out the most.

Strange work experiences... care to share?
Treble replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Now that you mention it Premonition, I remember I was at the zoo one day with some of my friends. And boy let me tell you the awkward experience we had to face that day. We were walking around the zoo minding our own business and suddenly BAM, a group of ugly apes trapped inside a glass cage were hammering against the windows and were screaming at us! One of the guerillas even managed to pull up one of his huge finger up to flick us off. If that's not strange, then I don't know what is. PS: OB's CTU rocks! And OB's Terrorist smells! -
Haha, just read your post Nerdsy, well played. ;) Anyway, as for my callsign, I'll go by Gadget.

1) As of right now, I feel like a bum. I really should make good use of my summer time and be productive, but I am just too lazy to do anything. 2) Besides one summer class, not much is going on in my life right now. Hopefully I will be able to find a job soon, because I am running low on money. More importantly, I hope to find out more about myself this summer and make a final decision as to whether or not I should stick with my Art Studio major.

I don?t know much about the human anatomy, but for some reason, the position of Hinata?s upper left arm/hand does not seem right. It seems like you made a random guess as to where to continue the formation of her arm when it went off the paper. Perhaps you could attach a small piece of paper near the arm and try to allign the arm correctly and make it look more natural. And then you could toss away the paper when you get it right. Other than that, it is a pretty good drawing. I really like how you drew everything else, specifically the hands and the eyes. Good work! ;)
There are really plenty of traditional art threads in the Art Studio. All of the graphics requests are all in the sub forum for requests. That they are dominating there is rather logical, as people request mainly graphics. Drawings are not really things you would request very often, while banners and avaters often change by the month.
I was actually referring to the Art Studio forum itself not the sub-forum. I think I must have mistaken some of the comment/critique threads as request threads when I posted the reply yesterday. However, it seems like you may be right since after taking another look at the Art Studio forum I do realize that there are more variety of art mediums used throughout the forum than I originally thought there were, but I still feel that the general medium used here is mainly graphic design. Well whatever works for people is fine by me, but it would be nice to see more cool drawings or paintings every once in a while. Also, I love the idea of bringing back the spriting stuff, it has been a while since anyone has done any sprite related stuff. I miss seeing those cool nifty Megaman sprites. Anyway, I do like Whiteblaze? idea about holding tournaments during the summer since a lot of people will have much more free time to create new artworks, and I think this forum will eventually pick up pace again when summer comes.

Just saw Spiderman 3 last night and I enjoyed what I saw, but there were a few things that bothered me. Like most of you guys have said, I thought they were trying to fit in way too much material for one movie. I felt like they were spending way too much time on Peter and Mary Jane scenes when they could have cut some of their time to make better character development for Sandman and Venom. It seemed like there was not that much screen time for these villains to really shine. Other than these grievances, I had a good time watching this movie. The actions scenes throughout the movie were pretty fun to watch, even if the camera seemed a bit jumpy at times. The scene that I enjoyed the most was
how the ruthless symbiote Peter threw the pumpkin bomb back at Harry. I thought Harry was a goner for sure, but he ended up only have a scar on his face. Also, Harry?s smirky expression after he told Peter that he was the other guy that Mary Jane was seeing was priceless. And lastly, the team-up between Peter and Harry at end was pretty awesome, the way they communicated and worked with each other was fun to watch.

I think it must be the time of year where a lot of people are busy with school work and have finals to worry about. As for me, I rarely post at OB these days, I do a lot more browsing and lurking than posting replies. I guess because for the most part, someone will already post what I had in mind. However, I do browse the Art forums every now and then since I am majoring in Studio Art. I love to look at all the art works done here by the talented members of OB for inspiration, but I?m one of those people who never really have much to say when it comes to commenting or criticizing an art piece. Plus I do not have a good scanner to post some of my artworks, but even if I did, I would be too embarrassed to post it up. As a Studio Art major, I am not as talented as I wish to be. Also, as 2007DigitalBoy have mentioned, sometimes I feel that this place is more dominated by graphic art designs than the general art stuff, like drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, etc. For instance, there seems to be more topics on requesting avatars and banners than people posting their own artwork. Of course, I do not have anything against graphic art since I do love to look at graphic designs, and I look forward to learning more about it someday, but I would love to see more variety in art mediums. Most importantly, art in general takes a long time to be perfected, so I guess it takes time for people to post new artwork.

It is unfortunate that God Hand and Okami will be the last games we will see from Clover Studios. I believe Clover Studios was working on both titles at the time, and most likely more time was dedicated to Okami. Despite mediocre reviews from most gaming review sites, I ended up buying this game a few weeks ago, and I do not regret it. While it may be a low budget game, I am having a blast with it so far. I have never played a game with such quirky style and humor in both the dialogue and combat. Being able to pummel a fat ninja in the face multiple times and then juggle him in the air is so much fun, and the ability to link up any punch or kick in a combo makes it even more exciting. Also, I love the dodge system in this game, being able to sway to the left or right to avoid enemy punches is pretty neat and reminds me of Fight Night. The combat system is much more solid compared to most other beat em up games, and like you said silpheedpilot, the game is pretty challenging, since button mashing will get you nowhere. Of course, this game isn?t for everyone, since the camera can zoom in too close at times, and the tank controls takes a little time to get used to. Also, the voice acting may be too cheesy for people. However, to me these are minor flaws that are common in most other games, and were not that much of a problem to me. I highly doubt anyone else here would be interested in this game, but the pure simplicity and the fun combat system of God Hand makes it one of the top overlooked games, and I thought it could use some more love.
