TMNT (2007)

I have not been to the movie theaters in a while, but since this was the return of the Ninja Turtles, my inner-child urged me to go check it out. There were a few things in the movie that I was not to satisfy with. As White have mentioned earlier, I felt that Donny and Michelangelo did not have much screen time besides a few one liners here and there. Casey Jones seems to have been tone down to a much softer character, which I did not like. Also, for some reason, the villains in the movie did not appeal to me at all. I expected a lot of fun mindless fighting scenes, but there were only a few short fighting scenes throughout the movie. However, the raining fight between
Ralph and Leo
was pretty awesome, and I always enjoyed the little rivalry they tend to have with each other. Overall, I enjoyed the movie, mostly just for how well they portrayed the four turtles.
  2.
Source: IGN April 13, 2007 - Street Fighter II on the Xbox Live Arcade has generated more revenue than any other XBLA game, according to Capcom. That can only mean one thing; more Street Fighter games are on the way. Along with an updated version of Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Capcom announced its intentions to bring Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix to both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade this fall. Though Capcom did not have the game on hand to show the audience, they did promise that all of the art is being redrawn by Udon Entertainment so that it will look crisp and clean at resolutions up to 1080p. A few samples of what Capcom is aiming for were shown and it was quite easy to see the vast improvement in the level of detail and polish over the original graphics. Like Street Fighter II for XBLA, this remake will include both online and offline play for one or two players.
Screen: (Suppose to be a preview of what Capcom is aiming for) Although Street Fighter II have been released and milked many times on different consoles, I am excited to see that Capcom has finally decided to upgrade Street Fighter II?s outdated visuals to hi-resolution 1080p graphics. Along with the redrawn backgrounds and artwork done by UDON comics, I can?t wait to see how all the characters will look like in high-res. More importantly, this may be the game that will initiate me to get into Xbox Live to play against others online and yell ?Hadoken? . Is anyone else excited to hear about this or have thoughts about this news?
  3. I?m not sure if this will help out or anything, but here?s what I remember about Transtic Nerve and Frank. Transtic Nerve: I remember that TN was a big fan of that one Japanese band called Gackt (sp?), and he was probably the most notable member to open up to the community with that unforgettable quote in his signature: ?Let?s get one thing straight, I?m not? Frank: I believe he did have a gameboy site with theotaku that covered videogame news, and had informative review of videogames. However, I remember visiting a separate site of his own that was dedicated to just Gameboy games called ?gbadventure?. It also seemed like Frank was a fan of the TV show ?Save by the bells? since I remember seeing a picture of the cast somewhere on his site. I don?t know if that was worth mentioning or anything, but what the heck. Yeah I know, it?s not much, but I figure you guys could use some of these descriptions in their entries if you guys decide to make entries for them.
  4. Wow there's alot of smart people on this board. Me, not so much. Good: To start off, I'm friendly and easy to get along with. When I am around people that I am comfortable with I tend to make them laugh with my randomness. While alot of people rely on glasses and contacts, my eyes are incredibly sharp. Sitting all the way back in a classroom I have no problem seeing what is on the board. Whenever I am walking around on campus I wave to people that I recognize from far away while they are squinting their eyes trying to figure out who I am. Sometimes I feel like I am Superman with my sharp vision. Bad: Seeing how people like to brag about their grades, I'll talk about how I suck at school. On the Acts, I believe I scored a 17. In high school, out of the 245 people that graduated, I ranked 38. As a college student, I procrastinate as much as everyone else. However, while people brag about how they finish a writing assignment or a project in one or two days and get a good grade, I always get a C or a B-. In class, most of the time people understand the material and always have something knowledgeable to say while I remain clueless and never know what to say. And I'm not too proud of my spelling and grammar when it comes to writing papers. Normally I am quiet and nice around people that I don't know, but loud and obnoxious around my family. When a girl stares at me for a long period of time I would think to myself, "She digs me". Lastly, I'm a pretty lazy guy and rarely do anything productive.
  5. Yeah 2007 seems like a good year to be a gamer with most of the anticipated titles releasing this year. I still have alot of older games that I want to buy this year, but I'll try to save some side money for the newer games. My list: Xbox 360: Blue Dragon Halo 3 Lost Planet Army of Two Assasins Creed Wii: (Hopefully I will be able to get one by summer) Super Mario Galaxy Super Smash Bros. Brawl Pokemon Battle Revolution Battalion Wars 2 Metal Slug Anthology (Not sure if its already realeased yet) I have alot more games that I want, but it depends if I am able to get the DS (Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Dragon Quest IX, Zelda: Phantom Hour Glass, Wario: Master in Disguise) and PS3 (Metal Gear Solid 4, Virtua Fighter 5, Devil May Cry 4). Too many games for a poor gamer.
  6.
Sub-title: Racers 1. Released in 1994 for the SNES. 2. The Racers is the second part to the only word in the game title. It's one long word. :) Bonus Hint! Probably one of the most overlooked SNES games.
Hmmm I'm guessing it's Uniracers, if so, I never had the chance to play the game, but I always wanted to. As for my game: Sub-title: Seven Stars 1. Released in 1996 near the end of the SNES time. 2. One of the first games to introduce timed-hits in a rpg battle system that allows the player to deal more damage to an enemy.
  7. Honestly, I have yet to play most of the games on that list since I still have a big log of older games that I have not even beated yet. However, I actually thought this was a pretty good year to be a gamer with games like Gears of Wars, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Final Fantasy XII, Baten Kaitos Origins, Okami, Bully, Viva Pinata, Resistance: Fall of Man, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and so on. Even the handhelds had a good year because the psp and the ds had alot to offer this year. As for my list, well, like I said I only played a select few of the many great games this year. GBA - I still care about the GBA and Drill Dozer gets my vote for being one of the greatest original platformer to come out in years. Nothing beats drilling enemies and walls that block my way. If only Earthbound 3 got translated and released here in the U.S., then that would be a dream come true. Gamecube - Zelda: Twilight Princess for the win, actually I did not even beat it yet, because I'm taking my time and don't want this epic adventure to end. And there wasn't that much for the GCN this year to begin with. Xbox 360 - My brother and I had a blast playing Co-op in Gears of Wars. Although it is a bit on the short side, it is truly one of the most intense and eye appealing third person shooting game I have ever played. Game of the Year - N/A, if I had the money to play more games then I would cast a vote, but I can't really make decision right now. Yeah that wraps up my list since I couldn't afford most of the other consoles and handhelds. Even if I did I highly doubt I would have the time to play them.
  8. Just got done watching episode 11 the other day and I'm pretty impress so far with this series. I have to agree Chief Yagami's
bus intro
rocked and shows how cool he is. As for the new character, I don't know what to expect from her, but she did brought some new excitement into the show. The show really knows how to keep me at the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. And the dramatic soundtrack blends in well with the mood. What really intrigues me is how unpredictable this show is. For instance, I expected Light to be the good guy of the show with his righteous beliefs of eliminating evil people, but his plans got more and more twisted as the story went on. In a way, it is sad to see that he is killing innocent people, yet exciting at the same time because we get to see how competitive Light is. Personally, I'm loving and hating Light at the same time and I can't really classify him as good guy or a bad guy, more like in between. As for L, he rocks in a bizarre type of way. His sleepless eyes, odd body positions, and the way he tries to outwit Light is fun to watch. And the awesome
phone swapping scene
was hilarious specially the way he holds the phones. Nevertheless, the plot is moving pretty fast and I can't wait to see how this end. :animesmil
  9. Yeah I remember that scene from the movie, it's unfortunate that
Wrath
did not get to say much at all throughout the movie and had a tragic ending. In the series, I found his character somewhat annoying, but I'm glad to see that he redeemed himself by taking on the big guy and had a chance to do something good for once. As for my favorite moment in an anime, it would have to be when
Rock Lee fought against Gaara
during the Chuunin Exam in Naruto. At first, I knew he was a strong guy for being able to take on Sasuke and all, but he totally susprised me when he when he open the gates in his body and went super saiyan on
Gaara
. Although
Lee
lost, the battle was pretty awesome and intense that demonstrated the beauty of taijutsu. What I really liked the most about the match was right after
Gaara
broke
Lee's
arm and leg,
Lee
still try to get up and fight. After that match, he became my favorite character in the series who went against all odds and defined the meaning of being a hard worker.
  10. I haven't watched that many animes over the past years due to school and life in general, but I do miss the good ol' days of the Pokemon craze. I remember going to middle school where everybody was into the Pokemon games where people battled and traded pokemons with each other in the Red/Blue version of the gameboy games. Also, once people brought their trading cards to school, insanity occurred with people arguing over who's pokemon is stronger, kids beating up each other for rare cards, and people attempting to sell thier cards for money. As for the cartoon show, I admit I was a big fan of the show when it first started. Watching Ash slowly rise in the Pokemon world was fun and adventurous. To me, the show had a lot of variety whether he was battling a gym leader, rescuing a pokemon from danger, or defeating team rocket over and over again. However, I started to lost interest after the first few seasons when things just got to repetitive and when Ash started to let all his old pokemons go away in place of new pokemons. Squirtle was the coolest and most charismatic pokemon that should of stay with him forever. :animesmil Other shows that I remember enjoying were mostly American cartoons, such as Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Batman/Superman, and Ninja Turtles. All of these shows are classics and I miss seeing them everyday. Luckily anime have become really big these days with all types of shows to choose from. I've only seen more of the popular mainstream stuff like Naruto, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist and I enjoy them all. As for what I've of been watching lately, I just recently got a chance to watch a good old classic boxing anime known as Hajime no Ippo. I've watched up to 10 episodes so far and I love the characters and all the struggles that boxers have to go through everyday. Good times indeed.
  11.
I think it looks pretty good! I'm getting it for Gamecube, but I'm wondering if the graphics are the same quality! It seems harder than the other Zelda games.....
From what I've read, the graphics between the GCN and the Wii are identical. However, I did found out that the GCN version of the game is mirrored from the Wii version, meaning that what is left in the Wii version is right on the GCN version. Well I picked up the GCN version this past Saturday and just beated the first dungeon today. As mentioned earlier, the game started off slow, but the setting and the interaction in Ordona Village is a nice way to start things off before the big twilight twist. You guys are right, the first boss wasn't that challenging at all. However, I did died a few times by the twilight enemies. Once by those little sewer creatures that just come out of nowhere and twice by the three bigger guards. As for the wolf segments, the sense system and the digging are fun to mess around with, but I'm hoping that there will be more to it than just collecting those lights for each village. Overall, I'm impressed so far with the huge landscapes, beautiful environments, and the solid combat system. I love how Zelda games make me feel like a complete idiot when I take a long time to complete a simple puzzle. Also, I love the unique lighting used in the Twilight areas, it's captivating to look at.
  12. I too do not have the Wii yet, but I do plan on getting Zelda: TP for the GCN at Circuit City since they have a good deal going on right now for only $37.99. However, all of these negative impressions, such as boring intro, unorchestrated soundtrack, easy challenges and bosses are discouraging. And for some reason, I tend to have a hard time getting into the 3d Zeldas compared to the 2d games. The simplicity of the 2d Zeldas were able to draw me in right away. A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, and Minish Cap are my personal favorites from the series. For those that have played TP, how would you rank this game compared to Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask (have yet to play), and Windwaker? Also, are there any more impressions for the wolf segments?
  13. Thanks guys for the recommendations. Both It's my Turn to Dream and Assembly Line Apparitions are great remixes. I'm also a fan of OverClocked ReMix. Some of the remixes on the site are unbelievable. And I like how the remixers take different approaches toward a particular videogame tune. Although I do not have that many remixes, I do have a few remixes that I like to listen to everyday when I'm driving back and forward to school. Flying Heaven, by zircon An awsome electronica remix of Fei Long's stage from Street Fighter 2 thats pretty energetic throughout the whole song. When All Hope Has Faded, by Tyler Heath & zircon An interesting take on a Chrono Trigger tune called The Day the World Revived. It is a fun collaboration by Tyler Heath and zircon. Together, they mixed thier styles of orchestra and techno that is blended together evenly. 600 A.D. in Piano, by kLuTz A Chrono Trigger tune called Wind Scene remixed by kLuTz through piano. kLuTz does not take strive too far awat from the original tune, but his piano arrangement is pretty nice to listen to. Twoson Hits the Road, by djpretzel This is a remix on Earthbound's Twoson done by djpretzel that is quite different from all the other fast-paced trance remixes. Unlike the others, this remix is more folk-like,relaxed, and adventurous. Metal Gear May Cry, by Jared Hudson The Metal Gear Solid Theme remixed by Jared Huson. This remix have a cool combination of melodramatic and heroic vibe to it. I love the cool epic feeling I get from this remix.
  14. Wow, those are some really nice looking avatars. ;) I like the way how each Link perfectly match with the background color. Seeing that green is my favorite color, I think I'm going to use the first green Link, the one with the sword.
  15. Well first off, stop using drugs it'll only make things worse. Try working out or do something else that you may enjoy like drawing, listening to music, playing sports etc. As for your lover, try to pull jokes or do something to make her laugh, and eventually things may work out. Stay strong, keep your head up, and never give up. One last thing, I know this may have been said a lot of times before, but remember there's a lot of other girls out there you'll find the right person one day. ;)
  16. Treble

    X2: XMen United

I just saw X2 last night, and it?s definitely a whole lot better than the original. ;) I was happy to see the appearances of some of the other mutants, it really made the movie stand out more by showing the diversity of mutants, and the movie was filled with awesome fighting sequences, the intro scene for example with Nightcrawler was a blast to watch. Overall this movie had everything I wanted to see in the original, I give it 2 thumbs up!
  17. Yes! I finally found it, thanks alot Semjaza Azazel, and SS5 Gogeta. ;) Well off I go continuing my great journey in the vast blue skies, thanks again guys.
  18. I've been playing Skies of Arcadia for at least 25 hours now, and it's one of the most addicting yet fresh rpg game I've played in a while. I highly recommend this game to anyone who have not played SOA on the Dreamcast, or looking for an RPG on the GCN. ;) But the reason why I brought back this topic up was because I needed help on finding "Ixa Rixis". I spended three hours looking for it, but had no luck, so I decided to go for a guide and I'm still lost. Yeah, yeah I'm a slow person, anyways I've found the statue that points out to something, the little rock bird beak, and the golden bird that flies around. Is there something else I'm suppose to look for or what?
  19. Treble

    Smallville

I'm pretty much a fan of Smallville myself, it's probably the only show I watch these days besides The Simpsons. I love the relationship between Clark and Lana (sp?), its amazing how he's always there to save her. As for my favorite episode, I like the one where it had the little teenager that could read people's mind, it made Clark look like a true hero. :)
  20.
Originally posted by Charles What did you guys think of the anime video? It has me totally hyped for a Guilty Gear anime--except for the horrible voice actor that played Sol. lol That kind of turned me off.
Which one are you talking about? So far I only saw the intro video and the one in the gallery, both which by the way were totally awsome. ;) The intro video was pretty cool, I liked the way it introduced the characters. As for Sol, yeah I have to agree with you whoever played his voice sounded like he was bored, like as if he was being forced to read. :bellylol: Anyways, so do anybody have a favorite character that they like to use? I tend to use Chipp Zanuff alot, he's quick and I like his style. Jam 's not bad either, she's cute and have some of the most sweetest kicking moves ever.
  21. I know it's a bit late to bring back this topic up, but recently I rented the game at my local Blockbuster with my older brother and it totally blew me away! To tell the truth I have never played any part of this series, so I wasn't really expecting much from Guilty Gear X2. Boy I was wrong, once I popped in GGX2 I was hooked, the fighting engine in the game was pure gold as you have mentioned Charles, its like a mixture of King of fighters and Street Fighter but with weapons. I really enjoyed all the modes GGX2 had to provide, mainly Survival Mode and Mission Mode. Usually I easily defeat all of the toughest challenge there is in a fighting game, but when I tried to beat one of the missions in Mission mode the computer simply knocked me out like I was a puny little ant. Not only that, I couldn't even pass level 20 in Survival mode, which is a bummer because I think I need to reach a certain level to unlock an EX character. GGX2 really gives a lot of challenge to anyone who loves a challenge. :) Oh and most of the soundtracks in the game are pretty sweet, my favorite one would have to be Sol vs Ky or something similiar like that. Well as Charles have mentioned, this game has alot to offer for fighting fans or to anyone who is interested in GGX2. The only thing that bothers me is that I have never played part one of the series so I couldn't understand why the two main characters Sol-Badguy (he kicks butt) and Ky-Kiske were fighting each other. Anyone like to fill me in? Charles? Anyone?
  22.
Originally posted by Shade But my PS2 controller doesn't have the L3 or R3 buttons.
Actually it does, you see the two analog sticks on your controller, you could push them down. ;) You could always pop a wheelie on certain motorcycles, or just cruise around the beautiful city while listening to the radio. Its quite fun, enjoy!

    Mario Quiz

Is it possible for Mario to shoot fireballs when he's small? Hmmmm, but I do know the answer to the other question, it is none other than Luigi! ;) All right, my question is, in Super Mario Bros. 2 who have the ability to jump high?
  24. When it comes to fighting games, I happen to be one of the biggest fan of Capcom's fighting series. ;) I really enjoy playing Capcom vs SNK 2 whenever I have one of my friends over. Fighting against other people really brings the fun experience anyone would want from a fighting game. As for my favorite characters, I usually pick Ryu, Haohmaru, and Kim. I just love Kim's unique kicks, Haohmaru's sweet sword attacks, and Ryu's uppercut. Almost all of the fighters have their own fighting style, which makes CvS 2 a really competitive game. Overall, I think its a great fighting game, specially when played with friends. :)
  25. My favorite Mario game would be Super Mario Bros. 3 on the SNES (Super Mario All Star). SMB3 had everything I wanted in a videogame, creative level designs, awsome boss battles, power-ups (racoon), and an addictive battle mode where two people tried there best to kill all the enemies first before the other player. My sister and I still play it today, wheter its the adventure mode or the battle mode. ;)
