Vaughn awoke the next morning, Arianna in his arms. His wounds healed, he saw that her dress, reddened with blood, was on a chair. He walked out to the wash, cleaning it out. He checked the chrono, seeing that it was the day of the festival. He walked back to his room, carrying the now-clean dress, and his armor, with him. When he entered the room, he saw Arianna awake, brushing her black hair. He handed her the dress, which she hastily slid on, self-conscious noticing that Vaughn was desperately avoiding looking down. He took her by the hand, leading her out to the market-place, where they could shop and shop for souvinirs and gifts until nightfall, when the ball would begin. He took her to a perfume shop, where he got her a nice forest-scented perfume. He got for himself a small bottle of spring rain cologne. He and Arianna both ran into Aiden, who was fighting with Kwaz over a marksmanship game. Arianna slowly walked towards the gift store, looking for something to get her savior. She noticed that she didn't have finalian money, and her heart fell. Vaughn noticed the look of despair in her eyes, and he brought her close. Vaughn:What's wrong, Arianna? Arianna:You've gotten me so much, given me so much. And I have nothing to give you in return. Vaughn:Just your company alone has made me happy. I'd give everything in the world for you, just to see you smile. I'm happy with you here. Is there anything else you want? Nightfall is about two hours away.

Vaughn awoke, being carried by the guards into the medical ward. He punched the guard with his good arm, knocking him out. He ran outside, the rain washing the blood off of him. He ran to Arianna who had collapsed to her knees crying. He picked her up in his good arm and carried her in. He pulled the arrows out, finding that his wounds weren't deep, except for one just below his heart. He allowed the doctors into his room to heal him, but he refused to leave Arianna's side. He clenched his right fist, looking into her eyes. Vaughn:I love you...

Vaughn slowly followed her, staying in the shadows so that she didn't feel closed in. He saw her walk though the door to the outside of the palace, and he followed, getting a surprise he didn't like. A group of Zaiback guards were sitting in the grass outside, enjoying a meal. They pulled out their crossbows, aiming at Arianna. She backed down, screaming as the bolts were released at her. They never hit her. In front of her, vaughn stood, five crossbow arrows jammed into his chest and right arm. He drew out his sword, aiming at them, and fired a spell at them, teleporting them into the palace's dungeon. Arianna screamed as Vaughn fell to the ground, blood dripping from non-fatal wounds in his chest and from his mouth. She fell to her knees, calling for help. Vaughn slipped out of consciousness.

Vaughn walked over, taking her hands in his and looking into her eyes. He remembered how it felt to be alone in a new place. The day he'd been taken in as an apprentice of the Finalian Guard was painful. He pulled Arianna close to him, wiping a single tear off of her radiant cheek. Vaughn:I know how you must feel. I, too, was all alone in a new place. You don't have to be, though. You have me here with you. I'll never let you face anything alone. Arianna....In a single hour, I've fallen in love with you. Silently, in his head, he combatted with the idea of kissing her then and there, and eventually he just wrapped his arms around her, laying her head against his chest. He lifted her head and looked into her eyes. She smiled briefly, then leaned up and kissed him for a moment. He blushed fiercely, smiling gently. He tried his best to comfort her. He turned to a window, seeing that the palace was above ground. In the distance, under the light of the stars, he saw the battle ending. He smiled, holding Arianna close, letting her cry on his chest.

Suddenly, a blip appeared on Gene's radar. He saw a ship approaching Sentinel III, and it looked familiar. Then he remembered it. It was Harry and Ron McDougal! They docked, and Harry jumped out, running for the Outlaw Star. He was crying out something over and over, but gene knew he was calling Melfina. He didn't know that Gene had been married to Melfina for a year already. He climbed out of the hatch, disconnecting himself from the system. He grabbed his caster, leaped from the ship, closely followed by Jim, and met him half-way between the ships. Gene smiled, and Harry guessed what the smile meant. He fired missiles at Gene, trying his hardest to kill the man, but he missed. Gene threw off his cloak, tightened his gloves, and dashed forward, grabbing Harry and knocking him unconscious. He walked back to the Outlaw Star, Jim barely down the ladder, and climbed up, pushing Jim up too. He saw something else on the screen that he didn't like. He yelled for everyone to get into their blast-off seats, jumping down and activating his command module. He wasn't about to let the Kei pirate's ship catch him at all!

Vaughn led Arianna to Queen Celestia's rooms, and he told her that the dresses and blouses were in the closet. He walked over to the hanging clothes, which his mother had left out for him to choose from. Prince or captain of the guard, he had to look nice. He explained Arianna's situation. Vaughn:Every now and then, a portal between Earth and Gea will open. Somebody must go through this portal. Eighteen years ago, lord Van followed a dragon onto Earth, where he slayed the dragon and took a young woman named Hitomi from Earth. Together, they live as King and Queen of Finalia now. Their son, Aiden, was my prince. Well, Firebrand, my Valken super-suit, found you in the Drakonia Forest, my homeland, and brought you here, to the land of Ivalicia. Here lies the remains of the legendary Hesperians, a race who ended up becoming known as Drakonians. And why you are here, you are a person who's destiny will save Gea, and the Earth. And-whoa! He turned around as he spoke, and he found Arianna undressing to try on a beautiful white dress. He spun around rapidly, trying not to look again. He didn't know why his heart was pounding, and felt a strange attraction to Arianna. He swallowed a lupm in his throat and removed his shirt to try on a suit of white leather armor and leather boots. He left his shadow-black jeans on, but as he turned to get into the armor, he found Arianna staring at him with a happy look in her eyes. He slid the armor and boots on, strapping a white cloak accross his shoulders. He stared at Arianna, her dress complimenting her fine, thin form and bringing out her starlike eyes. He gasped inwardly. He'd never seen anything so beautiful...

Gene flexed his arm, the bionic upgrade installed just yesterday whirring silently. He watched Melfina jump into the hatch where she would merge with the ship and conduct system checks. Gene smiled and jumped down, using his arm's computer to merge with the system as well. Gilliam was surprised. Gilliam:Gene, this is highly strange. You and Melfina both have this ability now? And the new crew member, Miranda does, too. This is highly strange. I suppose it will better your piloting skills. I can now download the bounty information to you directly. Please hold on. Gene was hit by a wave of information as the bounty records were brought up. Gene smiled. He was back in business.

Firebrand saw Escaflowne fall, and the living Valken suddenly began to whirr. His eyes lit up, and he began to shift. Out of nowhere, his body began to twist and gear around, becoming a giant part-dragon, part-wolf, part-human combination. Firebrand:Master Vaughn, behold my true power, the power of the Eternity Dragon! Firebrand aimed a wolfish claw at the Zaibachs, even those that were cloaled were visible to Firebrand's dragon-vision. He fired an ice beam, freezing the Zaibachs solid. Then Firebrand lived up to his name, charging a molten Fireball at the now-ice-sculptures of Zaibachs. They melted, and Firebrand's energy decreased. Though he still had more powers to use, he was too exhausted. Vaughn had fallen unconscious from the strain, so Firebrand fell underneath the ground, transporting Vaughn to the underground palace again. Vaughn awoke, and he saw that Firebrand had taken someone along with him. He stared at the beautiful girl in Firebrand's hand, wondering how Firebrand had found her. Then he looked at the wall-chrono. He'd been asleep for a while. He picked the sleeping girl up, bringing her to his chambers in the palace. He placed her in the bed, then went to work examining his wounds. The girl snapped awake, her eyes filled with tears. She stared at him, surprised. Arianna:Who are you? Vaughn:My name's Vaughn. What's yours? Arianna:I'm Arianna. Are you..are you an angel? Vaughn stared at her, then realized his wings were unfolded. He slapped himself mentally, then saw that Queen Celestia had entered the room. Celetia:Now Vaughn, it is time you know of your true birth. You are no mere captain of the guard. You are the Prince of my kingdom, the finest prince to be found. You are my son. Vaughn stared at her, his eyes tearing up. Arianna felt a compulsion to bow, then asked Vaughn a question. Arianna:Where am I, prince Vaughn? Vaughn:I don't rightly know. We're under the kingdom of Finalia, and you aren't on Earth anymore. But um... never mind. It doesn't matter. Arianna:What? And how did I get here? Vaughn:My Valken, Firebrand, must have brought you. Well....um....heh. Would..would you accompany me to the Finalia Festival of the Mystic Moon Ball? My mother could get you a fine dress. The fighting in all the kingdoms will cease for this one night, so I'd like you to accompany me, if you will.

Control him as if he were a random character. Well, he gave us a villain in his last moments. He will be missed. Though we DO have a Kei Pirate opening now.

Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]
Talon replied to Heaven's Cloud's topic in Creative Works
A simple flame, a gentle call The swaying breeze caresses my skin The landscape was soft, smooth in the fall Though I stared at the sky with a look of chagrin. I fell against a tree, enfolding the wind around me Kissing the scent of the sun so lovingly light I fell my way to the gentle, rolling hills near the sea Enjoying nature's sweet beauty within its own right. As I basked in the sunbeams, I saw her sweet face Her gentle smile made me feel extraordinarily weak The touch of her lips to mine made my heart rapidly race And her gentle, silky hands caressed my coarse face. A lover of nature, yet a man by my birth Has fallen love with a girl of unmatched love Though he is not known for his muscular girth, To her he is gentle as a tiny spring dove... Umm...How was that one Rico? -
Originally posted by Juuthena "will you be my girlfriend" She jumped with joy and said. "Yes!"
Umm...I think she's referring to me. But yeah, schrat. We gotta keep things the way they are, AND also, I've been noticing people taking a little TOO much control of the RPG. Like somebody all of a sudden becoming the only person with enough strength to break down an enemy wall, etc. And I've seen RPGs where some people kill off other people's C's just because of a grudge. We gotta stop this, but we gotta be able to exert MINOR control over other characters. Even the background people, such as random villagers and kings and such need to be controlled. That's just how it is.

Gene stared at the grave's tombstone, tossing down the bouquet. His memory of his father would never die. Gene hoped it wouldn't. He tightened his arm's grip around Melfina's waist, gently kissing his wife. He stared off in the distance as jim came running up to him. Jim:GENE! We got a job! Starwind and Hawking is back up, man! We got a bounty to chase, bro! Gene:No way, bro! This is too cool. Come on, who's the bounty head? Jim:Umm...you won't like him. You remember Hasanko? Leader of the Anten Seven? Well, he had a brother, the master of the Kei Pirates today. He wants us dead, and we've been payed to kill him. Oh, and by the way. I payed off the last of our debt to Fred at last. Gene:Finally. Geez,I wasn't looking forward to what he would he would have done if you hadn't payed him off. Come on, let's go. They set off for the Outlaw Star, Gene stopping Aisha from starting another barfight on the way. He stared back at the Sentinel III Cemetery. He cried a single tear as he climbed into the Outlaw Star to do a system's check. He missed his dad...

CHAPTER ONE: EMPIRE Slowly, but surely, they had begun to hate each other. Delta hated Neo for the mere reason that Delta had not been saved from his humiliation, even though Neo had been hit hard upon the head. Neo did not hate his friend. in fact, to Neo, Delta was the most important person in the world. But then there was also Relee... Relee held her head up high as she awoke in Delta's chambers. She was one-thousand miles away from the man she loved, Neo, but she lay in the Dark Warrior's room. Delta walked in, smiling wanly. "Are you well, Relee?" "Delta?! Where am I?! What happened to Neo?" "Neo?!? NEO?!? How could you love him? He hated me! He left me to that humiliation!" "But..." "NO! How? I LOVE YOU!" Neo Feonix opened his eyes. He saw nothing, as he had seen nothing every day for the past eighteen years. He sighed. He crept out of bed, strapping on his armor. As the Zodiac Knight of Everess, he needed to have a clear mind. He wished he had never opened that book, "Zodiac vs. Dark, Everess vs. Celtis!" Now he had was their Zodiac Knight, Prince of Everess. But nobody expected their prince, their savior, to be a blind teenager! He sighed again, and felt someone behind him. "Leave me alone, Uroko! I am not decent yet!" "Mrow! How Neo know it Uroko?!?" "My eyes may be destroyed, but my hearing and smell are more powerful even than yours!" Uroko Catbeing, a small, catlike child of fifteen infatuated with Neo, crept out amazed. She was only fifteen years old, but she could still fight as well as Neo. She was one of the spirit warriors needed to "ascend". When the Empire of Everess "ascended", it would forever ensure peace. Uroko had been taught this for years without end. She was sick of it. Suddenly, she heard the soft piping of a flute, punctuated by weepful sobs. Neo was depressed again. Neo played his saddest tune. he couldn't bear it. He'd lost his best friend, now the Prince of Celtis, and his love. He mourned them both, and the loss of his right-half necklace. He clenched his healed arm as memory of pain seared into it. He never thought that Delta would stab him... Relee ate the food given her, unaware that she was being poisoned by Delta. The love potion had been prepared by a friend of his, but the effects were unknown to Delta. Neo made up his mind. He began to alter his bed, transforming it into the Zodiac gate. The gate would take him anywhere, as long as his flute was intact. He walked through, hoping to appear at his dear Relee's side. He was swallowed into the Realm of Stars, leading him into Delta's bedroom at the Celtis palace. He saw a plate of half-eaten dumplings, and the room smelled faintly of Relee's perfume. Delta gasped as Relee threw herself upon him, kissing him passionately. She embraced him, then went into the changing room. She emerged from behind the screen in leather armor, drawing a dagger. Delta wondered... Neo stared at the doorway, half veiling himself. Relee walked through the doorway, wearing the armor of the Virgo. She kissed him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Relee, my love, I have been longing to see you!" "Neo. i, too, longed to see you, though you cannot see me because of your blindness. Yet I know of your second sight. But I longed to see you for another reason..." The attack was swift. Neo's arm was held against the wall, his blind gaze wide as the dagger sank into his stomach. He fell to the ground, his second, mystical sight fading... Delta stared in horror. Here, in his own room, Relee had attacked Neo fatally. As Neo's clear blood fell to the floor, seeping from his lips and stomach,Delta vowed, in memory of his old friend and the brutal event of his murder, never to touch Relee again, unless she bring upon him the same fate....

Vaughn stared down the line of melefs he had just destroyed. He smiled briefly, for each one carried the seal of the Zaibachian empire. Then, out of the corner of his/Firebrand's eye, he saw Kwaz and his unit heading for the border. Things were looking up. Then he saw Aiden and Escaflowne convulsing, as if some hidden power within them wanted to eject itself and destroy the rest of the Zaibachs.

Blaze cowered at the intruder. Somehow he felt familiar, though they'd met for all of five seconds. Raistlin saw all that Blaze felt, saw the death of Rain when she'd finally been captured by the Lab, saw the agonizing torture they thrust upon their first creation, the midnight-wolf project now named Blaze/Delita. He saw everything Blaze saw of Alastuin's "operation". The pain was too much for him. Raistlin fell to the pain and screamed. Eve was calming down as she felt Blaze returning to his sentience. She had to help him escape. She had to have her brother back. She'd go insane without him. Blaze snapped awake again, his body's transformation complete. He was a war machine, a killer, yet he had a mind and a heart. The scientist smiled as he brought Delita to the Coloseum, his body still strapped down. His sword arm free, he cut his bonds, dashing into what he thought was freedom. What he found was, impossibly, Rain. Delita fell to his knees, releasing his rage into one silent scream. His voice was gone. Rain walked over, a dagger drawn. She thrust it at Delita, whose chest bounced it off and broke it easily. Delita bit into her arm, drawing oil and an acrid, burning smell out. She wasn't Rain. "She" was a robot mimic of Blaze's former lover. And Blaze resurfaced again, pissed off and with blood on his mind. Suddenly, a burst of energy returned him to his original form, his longsword in his hand and leather armor on his chest. He ran back to the lab, pinning the scientist to the wall. Man:I see. Our attempts to make it a lycanthropic gift did not fail after all. I am more of a genius after all. If you don't mind, I must be excused. He disappeared, sealing Blaze in the room alone. His midnight-wolf form reemerged, sitting in a corner crying. Blaze clutched his knees, whispering "Eve, please come back to me. I miss you, my sister. I miss you." over and over. A memory flooded into his mind again... Eve stared at her first christmas gift in a long while. It was a beautiful necklace, made by Blaze's own two hands. She smiled brightly as he strung it around her neck. She clutched it to her chest when he was done. Blaze: Merry Christmas, Eve Eve: ..F..for... for me? Blaze: Who else? Eve: OH! Its so pretty! You, you shouldn't have! Its so pretty! Wow! Blaze: Its the color of your eyes... Another memory flooded his mind, one that he cherished above all. As the baby was lain into Blaze's arms, the 13-year-old sighed with love. Woman:Son, she is your sister. You are the first person to hold her. You must give her a name, Blaze. Blaze:Yes, mother. I name her Eve, for her eyes remind me of the beauty of the evening moon on the gentle ocean. I shall guard her well, mother, with my sword and my heart. She will grow into a fine woman to hold a fine husband. Woman:It is a good name, Blaze. I thank you, my son. Another memory surfaced in Blaze's mind... It was Eve's first real dance. She sat alone in the village square while everyone else had a great time at the town hall. She was surprised when a soft, gentle hand squeezed her shoulder. She felt the familiar kiss on the cheek and saw her brother's eyes. She touched the corner of her mouth, remembering the feel of the first time he'd given her that gentle, brotherly kiss. She heard his soft, silky voice asking her a question, which called her back to reality. Blaze:Eve, what's wrong? Eve:Oh, Blaze. A man I thought I loved only just now kissed another girl. Truly, I am shamed, for I have no escort to the dance. Blaze:Ha. Now, sis. You shall have me as your escort. Who better than the brother who would give his very last drop of blood to see a simple smile on your lips. Eve:Truly, Blaze, you are the source of my happiness. If ever I lost you, I myself could never go on. He led her to the dance floor, and together they shamed all the rest of the couples to blushing. Together, their fluid dance to Blaze's own work of music, a piece titled "Sonia's Dance" after a legendary heroine, amazed and awed everyone on the floor. Truly, they thought, never were a brother and a sister closer, nor would ever anywhere come near such closeness. The final memory flooded into Blaze's heart, filling his eyes with fresh tears... Blaze winced as Eve dressed the wound. HIs ribs were quite bloody, and the gash would stop the bleeding only for Eve's silk touch. She reached for a lemon, and Blaze knew that she was angry when she poured the juice onto the wound just before bandaging it. Eve:I don't care how hard he slapped me, you don't go and challenge Baron Nathan to a duel. Blaze:Alright, sis. Ow! I won, though, didn't I? And besides, nobody can get away with hurting my sister. I swore that to mom when you were born. Eve:Alright, Blaze. You're all done. You need rest, and I'm tired. Let's go to sleep right here, ok? Blaze:Yes. Let's go to sleep. Good night, my dear sister. Blaze grimaced slightly as his sister laid her head on the bed, leaving him to sleep on the floor. He felt rather nervous, but tucked his fears of losing her away as her gentle, rythmic breathing caressed him into sleep's soft throes. He had time to look out upon the starlit ocean out the bay window one last time before he joined his sister in dreamland. ------------------------------------------------------- So, Dani, is that post to your liking? Hell, I'm tired. And Mike, kindly do not take any of this seriously except for the fact that Dani is my sister and that I would give my life for her without hesitation. Just letting you know, all of that post was purely brotherly, not loverly. I'll save that for you, bro. G' night, y'all.

Vaughn stared down the line of melefs, who had not seen him yet. He threw up the invis-cloak, drawing the blade up with his hand again. He smiled, almost menacingly, as Aiden and Kwaz stared at the melefs seemingly tear themselves apart.
-
Vaughn immediately summoned some sort of power within himself that he had not known existed. He felt more than saw Firebrand merging onto his body as a suit of armor, and he felt his body rising into the air . his wings unfolded as the Valkenium metal plated onto his wings and body, forming a perfect, seamless suit of armor. A large longsword appeared in his hand as he charged forward, the Valkenium blade cutting through the melef as if it were tissue paper. He settled to the ground, finding himself as big as a Guymelef, not as small as a human, and acknowledged it as an ability Firebrand had given him. Aiden stared at him in winder, half-smiling.
-
Vaughn stared into the distance as the battle died down. Van's country was safe again, thanks to Aiden and himself. But for how long. Vaughn shook his head and began to walk Firebrand into the forest of Drakonis. Suddenly, a large hole opened underneath him, swallowing Firebrand as if it were nothing. Vaughn tried to regain control, but he'd hit the bottom of the pit before too long. He stared around, trying to see where he was. In front of him stood a throne of sorts, and a fair young woman sat ypon, her wings flaring out toward the walls of the chamber. As Vaughn's vision cleared, he saw that he stood inside of a large subterranean palace. He saw symbols on the wall as he climbed out of Firebrand, who suddenly sighed as if he were living. Vaughn approached the woman, suddenly realizing who she was. Vaughn:You can't be....are you Queen Celestia? Celestia:Yes, I am. Vaughn:Then this must be the Palace of Souls! BUt why have you summoned me, Lady Celestia? Celestia:Because the land is once again threatened by evil. And to battle the evil, there must be a great hero to counter their forces. You are that hero. You are to bear the title that comes with the responsibility of piloting the Living Valken, for Firebrand is no mere Guymelef. He is a Valken from the golden age of the lost civilization of Ivalicia. His power is greater than that of even Escaflowne. Use Firebrand's power well and the holiest title of all is yours. Because you are the true hero, you shall be known to history as the Hesperia Knight, the Knight of Eternity! Suddenly, Vaughn found himself facing Firebrand, who had shrunk to a size where he could fit around Vaughn like a siut of armor. He spoke, using the name Blaze. Blaze:Lord Vaughn. I chose you because you were kind to all you met, and also to me. You may recall the old man you saw in the market when you were twelve, the man who was being mauled by the last remnants of Zaibachs forces. You jumped in to save the old man, resulting in a broken arm and a bloody nose. That man was me, and for your kindness and bravery you were chosen. I thank you, my Hero and my Knight. I shall serve you forever, and my transformation abilities shall be yours. Our powers shall combine, and they shall become unstoppable. Now, let us return! Suddenly, they appeared as they had always been. They were in Van's courtyard, and Firebrand was silent and as large as he had always been. But Vaughn had a new mark, a small triforce pierced by a sword on his right hand. He'd become the Knight of Eternity. ---------------------------------------------------- OOC:There I go again, with my good ol' RPG magic. Hehe. Have fun with this one, Domon.
-
Vaughn saw the prince take off in the Escaflowne. He immediately looked at Van and saw the flicker in his eyes that clearly stated "Kill the Zaibachs before Aiden gets there". Vaughn leapt into Firebrand and took off for the battlefield, Firebrand moving almost eighteen times as fast as even Escaflowne. Vaughn smiled. He would finally get to prove himself as captain of the guard.

I think we'd better wait for a while before posting. At least until we have enough members to put the RPG into the RPG forum, not the sign-ups. You do NOT play an RPG in the Recruitment forum. It's wierd and misplaced. So I'd wait a while. Ya gotta have patience.
