1. Your best friend has discovered that you have never seen (or didn't like) his/her favorite movie. After a playful fight, he or she agrees to drop the subject if you just say you like it.. Fight. First of all, because I've been in this situation, and it's more fun just to fight than pretend I like it. Besides, it gives us something to do. What? Are we supposed to spend our time productively, or something? 2. Your date [or friend] shows you her dress for the school dance. She likes it, although she can tell you don't. She asks you to tell her you like it. Yes. Mainly because a fair few of my friends have confidence problems, and I'd rather that they didn't get all self-conscious. Besides, it's just a dress. Does it matter whether or not I say I like it? 3. Your best friend has been quiet all day, and won't tell you what's wrong. Later that night, she tells you that her mother has been diagnosed with cancer. She wants to hear you say everything will be alright. Whoa...now this brings back memories. First of all, I'd probably give her a huge hug and hold her for a while, just to show my support. Then I'd tell her it'll be all right. How do you know it won't be? Her mother could have had cancer diagnosed early on, and she could be saved. Later, I'd ask and try to gather what sort of cancer, and how far adnvanced. I'd keep telling her everything will be all right all the way through, mainly because, even if her Mum does die, she herself will come out all right.

*groans and dies* Boy, do I know the rigour of routine. It's death. Even on an 11 day timetable, I'm still sick of it. To make it wose, 5 days I go Maths then Chem, or Chem then Maths. It's wouldn't be that bad, if Maths weren't so boring! I, however, feel sorry for the borders. Their entire day is planned.

I am very, very impressed. It looks like real railway, which is the best you could hope for in the world of modelling. I can imagine how expenisive it would be. Eep.

Living in the Southern Hemisphere, I have completely the opposite situation. It rains... "Mmmm...Winter...blissssss..." I myself hate the heat, and am contentedly waiting for the winter colds to come in.
Originally posted by Lalaith Ril I mean don't get me wrong my dad is a GENIUS when it comes to logical things. But when it comes to feelings he....erm....flunks. If that fails, go on to the mail. And if that fails...you can always watchi everything he does for a while. If you have to phones [on the same line] listen into his conversation. Well, this thread is probably out of date, but I'm going to post anyway. Why did he commit suicide? Were there big reasons, or lots of little ones? Or was there no apparent reason? Were you really close to him? How did your girlfriend react? Is she just as upset? You have her to help work things through, and vice versa. Eep...chances are, I'll come across all unemotional in here, but "I'm sorry" has already been said, so I'm not going to repeat it. Sincerity is best, in this *points to her questions* is my sincere sympathy. I'm less than eloquent when being sympathetic, so...*shrugs* I'll leave now.

I am glad to say, I have never been in an accident. People I know have been; one boy in our class is away sick now becuase he was in an accident and ruptured his spleen. >.< It's really bad when someone dies in an accident, and it's always hard for people to cope. But it's great when people get out without getting hurt.

Karma: Do you think such a thing exists?
Lady Asphyxia replied to Orien_Xel's topic in General Discussion
I believe in karma. I think. Maybe I don't and I just don't know it yet. But, as I stand, I believe in karma, simply because if you're pissed off and sulky, other people will be pissed off with you. -
RPG SYF: Special Youth Force: Garrotted Threats...

Rae tottered over to the buffet table, coming face to face wtih an almost identical girl. She smiled, not being surprized that Jenna was there. After all, Jenna had been regarded as an innocent, and placed in a minimum security centre. Jenna stared at Rae for a minute, whispered, "I don't see it," and flicked her hair back in an unconsciously arrogant gesture. Rae snerked and held Jenna's eyes. "Perhaps not, but everyone else did." Jenna's eyes flashed, and Rae felt a pang of sympathy. Knowing you were so easily mistaken was both disconcerting and self-confidence bashing. Jenna, however, recovered with remarkable speed. Her face contorted into curiosity. She looked like a little girl in a candy store. "Would you like to try again? It could be fun at some point. You know...to switch." This threw Rae off balance. There was a girly quality in Jenna's voice, and almost innate innocence. It took Rae several seconds to realise it was all an act. Jenna's eyes were nothing but ice. "Perhaps sometime." Jaudiar and Siren chose that time to appear. It suddenly occured to Rae that had Liam been out, he would also be hovering protectively, albeit discreetly. She felt a pang of sadness, and resolved to help him out. This was the only way. Siren was holding a glass of champange, looking decidely tipsy. However, Rae knew she was alert as always. Jaudiar had her 'bored' face on. They all stood there for a few seconds, looking uncomfortable. Well, Rae thought. This is sociable. -
My sister is Christian. In a big way. I don't mind religion, but when every second sentence has "God" or "Jesus" in it, it can get annoying. I don't think all the advice threads are turning into Religious Bashing.

*Gasp* A topic to stop the trend of depression ones
Lady Asphyxia replied to a topic in General Discussion
Well, if it intereferes with your studies, quit. However, it does cost a fair bit to go to Uni, so you might want to consider that aspect, too. I'm very glad everything sorted out. I'm happy for you ^.^ -
Hair now fixed up, Adaline walked out of the bathroom, stopping to enquire about the siren. The woman who?d paused to help glanced at her once, and replied that there was a glitch in the Load, and two agents were stuck in the Celtic load. Adaline grinned and thanked the woman. If they needed help, Adaline could surely provide it. It was possible that, after more than five years, she was finally in the right place at the right time. She made her way quickly to the command station, trying to look serious and presentable all at once. Inside it was what looked rather like chaos. There hadn?t been a full-grown nomad for a while, and some staff had been getting complacent. Adaline walked over to the head-operative, took one look at the frazzled man, and grinned in sympathy. ?Who do you have as a team?? The operative looked down at his list, slumped his shoulders, and flopped back into the chair. ?No one. This is my first week in this position!? He looked so hopeless that Adaline couldn?t help but smile. The fact that this was the perfect opportunity to advance her standing ? and go on the Celtic mission could be another reason for her sudden desire to laugh, but she wouldn?t mention that to him. ?First you need to choose people who can cope in the Celtic Load. People who know about the Tuatha Dé Danann, and the customs.? He seized onto that piece of information like a drowning man does to a plank of wood, and looked at her, sizing her up. ?Do you know anything about it?? She shrugged nonchalantly, not letting her glee show on her face. ?A fair bit. I studied it in training. It was great.? ?Could you please?? She smiled and nodded. ?I?ll be happy to help you out. Do you know who else you want to include?? He started to speak, stopped, looked down at his clipboard ? which was empty ? then shrugged. ?Well, I suggest Jack Fanning and Celestine. Otherwise, just pick those who seem suited.? The man nearly passed out in thankfulness.

If you can't think of a reason to stay, the simple solution is: quit. See? Easy as pie.

I walked into a wall. On purpose. I'd just had physics, and I'd gotten it into my head that if I walked into it, it would more. [Something to do with forces]. It didn't.

I tink that we would not have advanced in the same way. We'd still have advanced, but differently. Instead of computers, we'd still be doing things by hand. However, we'd have concentrated on and acheived different things. Cultures and sub-cultures would probably be different. Chances are, kids would be healthier. They wouldn't be sitting around on their butts all day playing PS2 or whatever. [Not that I'm saying I don't, only, I use the internet as my lazy-tool] I'd say we'd be more prejudiced, because we would go as far or talk to as many people. We wouldn't know any differences, and we wouldn't accept them. I think.

RPG SYF: Special Youth Force: Garrotted Threats...
Lady Asphyxia replied to liamc2's topic in Theater
Doing a remarkable impression of a chicken, Rae flapped her hands about trying to dry the nail varnish quickly. They had five minutes before they left and she hadn't done her hair properly yet. Three seconds later, Rae gave up and looked helplessly towards Jaudiar. "Can you please..." Jaudiar smiled serenly and walked toward her. Rae couldn't understand how Jaudiar could manage to anything but totter in heels that high, but somehow she did. It took Jaudiar three minutes to twist and secure Rae's hair. Rae grinned at the result, then stood up and pushed her feet into her own shoes. She, however, did totter. Serric gave a bark of laughter, and Rae shot a glance at him, wondering how someone walked in these shoes. He snorted once, and turned red as he tried not to keep laughing. It took her a few steps to get used to the height, and by the time they walked out of the door, she was smiling and laughing herself. They entered the ballroom joking and giggling, and stayed in a remarkably light-hearted state all night. ~~~ *Beats her head* Lazy, lazy, lazy. -

Cheer up. Everyone has had these revelations, and believe it or not, no one is a failure. Sure, you mightn't be as great as you want to be, but everyone will have at least something going for them. For you, there's your writing. Gotta say it's good.

Actually, I was thinking of sending her to Australia Zoo and letting her spend a few months with Steve Irwin...
