1. physically, I like my hair and eyes (had to mention two things since I don't like just about everything else). my hair is soft and.....soft, and my eyes are this hazel color that's hard to notice unless you look closely at them. personally.....I'm not self-righteously judgemental, and am pretty understanding; at least I think I am. I try to look at two different sides of a situation/person/etc. before I come to a conclusion.
2. I'll admit I've got around 50 MP3's on my desktop, and have downloaded who knows how many volumes of manga on top of that. but the music is all stuff from anime soundtracks and a few J-artists I haven't and probably never will be able to find in any store I've been in, and none of the manga has been released in the U.S. yet. I only download stuff I can't get my hands on otherwise. if they want to make money off of it so badly, they need to SELL IT. everything else I either just listen to on the radio or buy myself, providing I have the money, or unless Anna's already gotten it ^_^.
3.
Originally posted by Pressure ...I think it's rather arrogant of someone from the freshman or sophmore class to show up at either junior or senior prom, whether they have a date or not. It would not be my place to be there, and I understand the schoolwide love for all freshmen, so I knew that if it was my junior or senior prom, I wouldn't want a bunch of egotistical, arrogant, snobby, stuck up, freshmen at the prom that I'd been anticipating for three years...
just out of curiosity, how would it be arrogant? I would think as long as a junior/senior asked you (and you didn't ask them) it shouldn't be a problem. if some upperclassmen don't want freshmen there, it's their problem. not all freshmen are as bad as some people make them out to be, and if an upperclassman wants to take a freshman to prom since (s)he's sure that they're mature enough that they won't embarrass him/her, then that's their business. no one will be able to tell you're a freshman as long as you don't act like one anyway. besides, freshmen and sophmores can't go to prom unless they go with a junior/senior. at least that's how it worked at the one I went to, could be different elsewhere *shrug*.
4. I just went to my first prom last Friday. the actual prom part was....meh, but the before and after of it was good. Anna's date and my date came over to the house to have dinner before we went out, took pictures, yadda yadda. then we went to the auditorium where the prom was at. didn't do that much dancing other than some of the slow stuff, considering the 'dancing' most of the people were doing wasn't really dancing, so to speak. then we went back to my house and hung out there until the wee hours of the morning. I loved my dress ^_^. it was this pretty shiny light green color, and had an empire waist with gold threading. I got some gold shoes and a beaded purse to go along with it. lol, no one probably cares, but I had to talk about it. can't talk about prom without talking about what you wore to it ^_^.

Akira

I love the movie. although if I hadn't read the what manga I had beforehand, I would've been totally lost ^_^', moreso than I was, anyway (I've only read half the manga series). the animation in that movie is awesome. if I hadn't known it was made in the late 80's, I would've thought the movie was made only recently. probably my favorites scene was when
Tetsuo was hallucinating in his hospital room, and the toys came to life and started attacking him.....or something....
. oi, it's been awhile since I've seen it. but that's what always sticks out in my mind for some reason 0_o'. 7. as it stands, I have a babysitting job for the summer. 5 days a week, 20 bucks a day; doesn't sound too bad to me ^_^. too bad the money has to be split so many ways >.>', but oh well. I plan to spend at least a little money on getting more anime/manga, I've mostly only gotten Marmalade Boy over the past 7 months. the first week of July, Anna, Tori, and I are going to EFY (church camp) in Gainsville, which is gonna be awesome. other than that, probably just some get-togethers with friends and such. should be a pretty decent summer.
8. we also get out of school May 23, I think. I'll be so relieved when the year's over, but a little sad too, what with people graduating and not getting to see a lot of people over the summer. but yeah, it'll be a relief to have a good two months to do nothing for a change ^_^.
9. heh, it all depends on the girl. but I think it's safe to say that most every girl wants her guy to at least be sincere and dependable/honest. could be wrong, but it's a decent assumption, I would think.
10. this one's a toughie. I really can't say. here's the good parts to both sides that I could come up with. for manga: - it's a LOT cheaper - you get all of the story that was left out in its anime counterpart - the drawings are usually prettier/more detailed for anime: - sounds, music, voice acting - you get to see the action sequences *big advantage, imo* it would depend on the series was also. I prefer the Fushigi Yuugi, Evangelion, and Kare Kano anime to the manga, but I prefer the Marmalade Boy, Inu-Yasha, and Kodomo no Omocha manga to the anime.
11. I think my best talent is music, specifically playing the piano. I can draw a bit as well, and I guess memorizing stuff is a talent.......*blank stare*. I can kind of act, maybe if I can get an opportunity *cough* I'll be able to see how I really do at it. as for sports.......hehe, I'm a lost cause ^_^'.
12.
Originally posted by PiroMunkie ...I think the thing that irks me the most about "chick bands" is that they usually get that feminist air to them. They do not shut up about how they are all/mostly girls and they are in a band. That right there can turn me away from listening to them. They are a band just like any other band, the fact that they are all girls does not mean that much to me. If they can pull it off, then that is great; but do not gloat about it...
same here. if I don't think their music sounds good, I'm not gonna listen to it, whether they're females or not. when they try to use their gender to sell music instead of their talent is when it bothers me. I hope that made sense.... anywho, if you all have a good decent amount of talent, go ahead and keep at what you're doing. I'm sure you'll find lots of people later on who would appreciate your talent.
13.
Originally posted by Jesus Chicken ..."Just remember, you are unique...Just like everyone else"
haha, I love that quote. here's some more that I like. "The soul would have no rainbow had the eyes no tears." ~John Vance Cheney "The things that are of the most worth require the most risk." ~I forget who, and I paraphrased quite a lot, since I'm going from memory on this one. "And remember The truth that once was spoken, To love another person Is to see the face of God." ~Victor Hugo, from Les Miserables
14. I don't understand love that well, considering I don't think I've been in real love before. but there is one thing that I do know: it's more than just a feeling of infatuation. like, when I hear a friend of mine say, "Oh, I love So-and-So so much," and I ask them why they think that, they tell me "I think about him all the time, I'd die for him, I want to be with him every second of the day." that, my friend, is infatuation. when you first start dating someone, of course you're gonna get butterflies and be on this high whenever you're around them, because you're just getting to know him/her and find out how great (s)he is. but what about after a couple of months when the both of you have gotten comfortable around each other, and the giddiness starts wearing off? would you still feel as 'in love' with that person as when you two first started going out? real love is supposed to strengthen over time instead of diminish, even if things may not be as interesting as before. as a side note, here's some advice that a teacher of mine told our class about love: if you think that you're in love with someone, take a look at the reasons why you're with them.
15. well, I don't know a whole lot about the subject topic, but I'd definitely have to say that Hayao Miyazaki is my favorite director. and I would certainly think that he's contributed quite a bit, considering he's been doing work for decades now. from what I've seen, there hasn't been a single movie directed by Miyazaki that I don't like.
16. I think it's a great movie. some of the things that happened in the jail were horrible though. just thinking about how stuff like that happened/happens (?) there gives me the shivers.
17. I myself probably wouldn't do it. as for what I think about others doing it, it seems kinda silly to do so unless you actually plan on meeting the other person in real life. if so, I say good for you. one of my cousins met her husband over the internet, and they're still happily married. and neither of them are psychotic killers. as far as I know, anyway lol.
18. heh, you've got a pretty easy pick right there. can't think of a lot of anime that suck as bad as Pilot Candidate does. or maybe I'm just biased against it *shrug*. go for Brain Powered anyway.
19. to me, being at home celebrating with my presents family is what makes it so special. plus, there's also the presents fact that I've become one year closer to reaching adulthood. I couldn't care less about gifts.
20. I was first introduced to anime when Samantha brought home a rented dubbed Sailor Moon video. couldn't stand it though. a couple of years later, I was (somewhat) into the Pokemon craze (as in I bought one of the GBC games and knew the names of most of the Pokemon). wasn't too impressed with the show though. then a year or so later, some of my guy friends were talking about how awesome DBZ was and whatnot, and told me I should watch it. and after a LOT of poking and prodding, they finally convinced me to watch it. started watching it when the Cell saga restarted for the umpteenth time, and I was hooked. then I got into other Toonami shows, and was introduced to Fushigi Yuugi, which got me started on shoujo anime. I was a bit skeptical of FY at first, since I had Sailor Moon stuck in my mind, but after watching the first volume of it my mind was completely changed. and there ya go!
21. Who was your first kiss? a guy I went out with last year How old were you? 14 How was it? blah, horrible. it was so sloppy, I could've died *vomit* What were the circumstances? (Where, Time, etc) this part's gonna be kept confidential, considering it could be incriminating to myself What was your Worst/Best Kiss? my worst one was my first one. edit:my best one was last Friday night (technically Saturday morning), actually. it was very nice ^_^.
22. as far as the edited version goes, I've only seen one of the edited episodes on Toonami, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. the only part that really irritated me was how they didn't show
Jin-e (sp?) stabbing himself, and how he just 'died' on the ground
. I prefer hearing Kenshin's dubbed voice to his subbed voice, mostly because it isn't done by a woman (yeah, I know, Goku's Japanese VA is a woman too; didn't say I liked Goku's voice either though). the Japanese voice acting may be better, but I really didn't like how his voice sounded. the female voice actress that played Kenshin in the first OVA didn't bother me as much though. the Kenshin TV series is pretty good, but I much prefer Tsuiokuhen over the actual series. when I saw the Kenshin TV series, I was "hey, this is pretty neat", but when I saw the OVA, I was ".......woah....". it aggravated me how they changed the name to Samurai X though. what, is the 'X' supposed to make it sound cooler or something? ergh, anywho. I thought it was neat how you could flip the DVD jackets for the actual cover art (which looks 10 times better ^_^).
23. lol, I'm looking forward to it, too. still gotta learn my music for the parade though, they came up with the quint part while I was working on snare, so I'm gonna be learning it the day before we leave ~.~'. oy. can't wait until Friday! not really looking forward to the Animal Kingdom *blEH*, but I'm really looking forward to the Island of Adventures and Epcot. Cyke, maybe you could help me with something. what could I get down at Disney souvenir-wise that a guy around your age would like?
24. a friend of mine tried getting me into DBZ a couple of years ago (April 2001), and well, it worked. so I asked him where he got all of his pics from, and he told me to go the theotaku.com, since there were at least 16-17 pages worth of images back then. a month afterwards, the site had temporarily shut down because they were working on version 2.0, I think. they had a link going to the Boards though, so I checked it out and registered, and have been posting here since then.
25. *in total agreement with JCBaggee's comment* oooh, I get the shivers just thinking about some people I know who fit that description. strange thing is they (well, thinkin' of one or two in particular) wonder why girls get pissed off at 'em when they come onto them with some lewd pick-up line. never thought I'd actually see it, since I thought it was a well-known fact that it doesn't work, but..... probably the grossest thing I've seen is an animal that had been rotting in a road for several days that no one had bothered picking up. then some dogs dragged it into various neighbors' yards and left pieces of it everywhere. I swear I would've gagged if I had looked at the whole thing any longer.
