1. I'm not all that hyped concerning Santa and all that mess, but I'm pretty into the actual part of Christmas right now. there's always this good vibe I get around Christmas-time, whether it's because people seem a lot nicer (some of them for their own 'get-me-presents' reasons, but nicer nonetheless) or because of the preparations and buying people presents (I like getting people things for some reason). plus we get about 3 weeks off from school, so that's a definite bonus :D.
2. *starts singing* stop right now, thank you very much I need somebody with the human touch... ..eh, hehe, those were the days........*tries to slinks off unnoticed...and trips over a chair*
3.
Originally posted by Endymion I used to be a Spice Girls fan (don't laugh! You know the words to "Wannabe." Don't deny it!)
:rotflmao: oh my gosh, I forgot about them. crap, now that song's gonna be stuck in my head all night long. not all of their stuff is complete crap....just a lot of it :D.
4. the crappy songs I couldn't help humming were mostly from Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys. meh..... and TN, would the Barenaked Ladies song be One Week? jus' trying to come up with some suggestions :p.
5.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve I hate parents who expect their kids to get straight A's. they are STUPID to think that any kid could get perfect grades all the time. I mean, ask your dad what he got when he was in high school. I bet it wasn't straight A's. Thats when they shut up.
heh, it'd be bad if he did get straight A's though. I think punishing kids for not making good grades is okay, in some circumstances. like if the kid's slacking off and not doing homework/turning papers in. then it's okay. some kids need the extra motivation. but if the kid got bad grades because (s)he didn't understand the work, that's different. some stuff just doesn't click with some people. punishing them isn't going to make them learn anything. and if they stuck to the punishment plan, chances are (s)he'd never be off grounding.
6. heh, I thought I was the only one that thought that.... but yeah, Chobits is way better than Rayearth.
7. TokyoPop has each manga volume out for about $10 (not sure about other currencies). I'd say it's worth the money.
8. heck yeah, it'd be a problem! what with all those good-lookin' anime chicks there are, all of the guys would be busy trying to hook up with them instead of us realistically-sized girls :p. heh, it would be pretty cool though, I guess. cuz then us girls would get a go at those good-lookin' bishounen .
9. I agree. speak with a counselor, or someone who can do something to try to help the situation. you didn't deserve that in the least, and no parent should have pulled a stunt like that anyway, whatever their reasoning was.
10. how do you make 60's and 70's in stuff like band and choir? usually they're mostly just participation grades, at least at just about every school I've heard of. if that's the case for you, I don't feel too sorry for you. but if you seriously tried to make good grades and weren't just slacking off, try explaining that to your dad (but only if you really put forth the extra effort; chances are if you lie and he finds out, you're gonna dig yourself an even deeper hole.) maybe your dad would be more lenient with your grounding.
11. I haven't seen the anime, but the manga's pretty good. it's really sweet, and I love the little storybook sections with the rabbit-looking thing. that part's rather depressing, but very good IMO. and yeah, they really didn't need to make it as perverted as they did, but it could definitely be worse. overall I like Chobits a lot, or at least what I've read of it (3 or 4 volumes, not sure how many there are in all though).
12. lol, I love Koyasu Takehito and Seki Tomokazu, they're great seiyuu. they have done a lot of work, too, I just can't remember a lot of what they've done. I remember that Tomokazu also did Gai in Nadesico and Touya in CardCaptor Sakura though, which I thought was pretty funny, considering how Touya's voice sounded compared to Chichiri's and Gai's, lol. the dude that did Shuldich (I think it's Hikaru Midorikawa [?]) also did Zelgadis from Slayers as well. eh, can't think of anything else to add to the list, it's been a long while since I've dug into seiyuu stuff :cross:.
13. ooh, I have three favorites :D. they are 1. Legato (Trigun)- evil dude with psychic powers. there's something really creepy about him, knowing he could kill an entire city of people if he wanted to (not gonna say more than that). 2. Vicious (Cowboy Bebop)- pretty much the same as what everyone else said. 3. Nakago (Fushigi Yuugi)- I actually can't stand him for the life of me. I basically put him on here cuz I love hating him. he was basically one of those mental and emotional manipulators that got inside people's heads to get them to do what he wanted. there were countless times while watching the series that I wished Tamahome or Hotohori would just put their freaking swords through his stomach.
14. I'll go ahead and flat out say that I'm more blunt and outspoken online than IRL. in person, if you didn't know me well, you'd have to drag sentences out of me. not because I'm trying to be rude, but because I just can't think of anything to say. I'm a rather dull person, not one for conversation with most people 0_o'. I also act a little more positive offline than online, maybe cuz I usually get online when I need a break or when I'm in a bad/depressing mood. actually, I'm kinda the same both on and offline. when I'm on message boards and such, I'll go ahead and state my opinion or talk about something I heard about, but I don't actually talk to anybody (my PM list is basically nonexistant). same IRL; I talk (it'd be kind of hard to get through the day without doing so :cross: ), but only if I have a question or if someone wants my opinion. I get most of my actual conversation skills out with a few close friends. and I'm pretty satisfied with it being that way. not that I hate everybody, I just prefer to keep to myself for the most part.
15. heh, I was gonna recommend Incubus :p. but yeah, if those are the choices, save your money. or get some 311....or New Found Glory :toothy:.
16. oh goodness, let's see if I can think (my brain/memory is rather fried at the moment). -material-wise (in no order): 1. CD's 2. Money/gift certificates (preferably to Media Play) 3. Clothes.....simple, but nice looking clothes..... 4. Anime/manga merchandise 5. Chunky, silver jewelry (excepting necklaces, lol) 6. ......etc.? -non-material wise (no order either, and rather more on the actual wishful side of thinking): 1. Everyone stays safe 2. No one feels upset/depressed/unimportant 3. A certain someone would say he liked me (hey, as stupid as it sounds, I'm just bein' honest) I think that should do it.
17. it was okay. parts of it I liked, but I haven't seen it in a good while, so I can't recall what they were.
18. maybe that's just the standard episode number for anime series or something. but yeah, there are quite a few anime that have 26 episodes. a lot of anime series also have only 12 episodes, too.
19.
Originally posted by Kaiba's Angel Well, here are some of mine... Y'all (yes, I live in the South)
LOL, I hear a lot of that too, me coming from the redneck part of Georgia. one phrase that I find particularly funny besides "fixin' to" (like Heaven's Cloud mentioned) is "jeet yet?" ("have you eaten yet?")
20. shucks, thanks for the compliment ^_^.
21. I've heard a slight bit of them before. it was about a half a year ago though, so I don't remember what they sound like. I just remember that what I heard wasn't quite to my liking.
22. the things I'm probably most grateful for are the family and good friends I have, my upbringing, and that I can sometimes use one of my talents to help other people (I hope I don't sound conceited by saying that or anything :drunk: ).
23. maybe if it was 80x80... ...and had a black border... ...and if it was emailed to him... goodness gracious, did you even bother skimming the first post of the thread?!:drunk:
24.
Originally posted by Deedlit When I was about three years old, my mom brought home a movie called Little Nimo. Even though I didn't know it was anime--actually, I didn't even know what anime was. :cross:--, it was still my favortie movie.
:drunk: :therock: you can't be serious. that was an anime movie? I dunno about that..... EDIT:I can't believe it *shakes head*. okay, so maybe it was done in Japan. it doesn't look that much like it's anime-styled though.
25.
Originally posted by Imsirion Lupin III, Outlaw Star, Inu Yasha, Zoids, Yuyu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop
eh, I dunno why they bother keeping Zoids around. *bleh* so they're showing the tv show Lupin, right? *does happy dance* hopefully if enough people like the tv show, they'll show a couple of the movies :D. as for the whole debate over them getting the schedule changed to later times, I agree with what they're doing. maybe not as an anime fan, but I can certainly understand why they're doing it. if I had a child, I wouldn't want him/her to see quite a few of the things they show on A.S. (like that Yogi Bear cartoon they aired a while back that looked like the animators of Ren and Stimpy drew it; I couldn't even finish watching it). true, there'll always be kids that see things on tv when they're not supposed to regardless, but at least they're making it more difficult for that to happen, and will hopefully discourage more of it from happening. and I'm sure that deep down in their hearts, they're sorry for all the fans that won't be able to see their tv shows. but they can't please everybody. so of course they're going to please the people that can file lawsuits against them for airing shows with questionable content at times that their kids are still awake. just my two cents. :whoops:
