man, it would be awesome if our library carried manga..... my favorite shounen manga was Akira; that is, up until the 4th novel, when it started getting to be too much content-wise. the first 3 weren't as bad, they just seemed to really slab it all in the 4th one. I couldn't even finish reading it. as for Takahashi novels (Ranma and Inu-Yasha in particular), each of the series are good up to about the 10th novel. then they just repeat the same scenarios over and over. that's probably why there are what, 34-36 volumes of Ranma 1/2 total. they're replacing Dexter with POKEMON?! Dexter's Laboratory is 10 times better than Pokemon, dagummit!

heh, I've seen the 1st, 6th, and 7th. so basically I don't have a clue as to what all's going on plot-wise. Gai is awesome though :D. I thought it was rather interesting that Tomokazu Seki is his seiyuu (the same dude that did Chichiri's voice 0_o'). if I ever get finished with the series, I really wanna see the Nadesico movie.

The Ring was awesome. I don't like scary movies (cuz I'm a wuss :cross: ), but my friend wanted to go see it, so I went along with it, thinking it looked kinda stupid and wouldn't be too scary. lemme tell you, I jumped at least 20 times during the movie. I wouldn't mind seeing it again though, since I would know what all's gonna happen :D. when somebody comes to see it with me next time (assuming I do), I'm gonna have to conveniently have a bloody nose during the movie :toothy:.

my first name (Stephanie) means 'crowned one' or 'crowned in victory'. turns out my mom didn't want me called Stephanie though, since there was this girl from school that gave her hell named Stephanie :drunk:. but the doctors/nurses and relatives said I looked like a Stephanie, so my mom gave in. she told me she actually wanted to name me Sarah 0_o'. and yeah, my last name is Dutch, like koolaid said earlier. don't have a middle name to worry about though, my name's long enough with just the first and last name, lol. if you're doing weed just because your friend is, then don't. simple as that. if you're afraid your friend won't like you because you don't do weed, his loss, not yours. I would recommend you and him not doing weed at all, but whatever floats your boat, I guess...

.......wow.......Wrist Cutter, that was awesome! I especially like the first song. ....man, I can't think of anything else to write...but great stuff, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference!

I love the way Mariah Carey sings. I just hate how she changed her image and music style and became trashy :demon:. some other female singers I like are Celine Dion and Sarah McLachlan. can't think of any particular favorite male singers at the top of my head right now.

I don't think I'm noticed that much around here, so I'd say I'm average, bordering slightly disliked. the slightly disliked part coming from the fact that I get into more arguments than nice, happy conversations on here. but that's probably my fault. whenever I see a blatantly stupid comment, I have this busy-body'ish' need to reply with my own little comment. I probably get a little carried away sometimes though. so.....yeah! :mrt:

(lol) #14 Thimoc "Legendary Spammer" -
I love that movie. pity I can't find it :cross:. but anywho. I love the way the forest scenery was so detailed, it looked great. and the kodama were coooool. you know what? one of these days I'm gonna get a t-shirt with a kodama on it. it was kinda freaky with the boar god turning into a demon and San getting trapped in it. wow, this is the most scrambled post I've written in a long time....

blah, the White Stripes make me sick. the singer just whines the whole time. and the drummer sucks (don't get Anna started on it, she'd never shut up, lol.)

I agree with Semjaza. until you know for sure what you're going to do about this whole thing, step out of the situation and think about it for a while before you decide on anything. when there are other people's feelings on the line, you don't want to do anything hasty, because shortly afterwards you could realize you'd made a big mistake, and you might not be able to fix it. I'm going to assume/hope that comment about flipping quarters somewhere around here was said sarcastically...

sorry, but I don't believe the whole aura thing. but yeah, sometimes people can see stuff in their dreams that end up happening in the future, if you want to call that a sixth sense. it happens to me sometimes.

my grades aren't all A's, but they're certainly a lot better than last year's (2 F's on every 9 weeks report card except for the first one. *wince*) 1. Algebra I: 96 2. Computer Applications: 98 3. Literature-CP: 91 4. Band: 100 (everybody makes that) 5. Textiles and Fashion I: 79 (I didn't bother turning in some work; it didn't help that I can't stand the teacher.) 6. Biology I: 86 (brought that grade up about 6 points, darn proud too) 7. Economics-CP: 97

hmm, strange, it seems I'm most like Anna 0_o. after changing some of the answers that I was kind of iffy on, I got Mist as a second choice. pretty nifty. -
:rotflmao: it might just be me, but it sounds like Frank Oz did Ling's voice (even though he didn't). she sounds like some weird Miss Piggy. I never get tired of that little "Weeooh!" she does all the time. I didn't really like the cow part either, that was just plain stupid. :lecture: "Chicken go cluck-cluck, cow go mooo Piggy go oink-oink, how 'bout you?"

I think the only soundtrack I've gotten is the Star Wars:Episode 1 soundtrack, I love that song they play when Darth Maul is fighting the Jedi :D. and the City of Angels soundtrack is pretty good. anime-wise, I really like Trigun and one or two of the Fushigi Yuugi soundtracks (particularly the Vocal Memories one; I think that's what it's called). I just get MP3's to any other anime songs I like and burn 'em onto CD's.

I know a tiny bit about drum corps. but the only way I get to see any performances is if our band director ever gets an urge to just pop in a video or something. but supposedly a local tv station airs drum competitions on Thanksgiving, which I'm definitely gonna have to see. and yeah, Blue Devils rock ^_^. I think I have maybe two secrets at the moment. one of them I'm never telling, and the other is sorta not really a secret, cuz I've told a couple of people about it. nothing major, I don't care about telling people who I know won't tell anybody, but other than that I try avoiding the subject.
Originally posted by Endymion Strange. I never saw the movie, but people who did see it say it was either hysterical or stupidly unfunny (like a Tom Green movie). I hardly find people who say it was "kinda funny" or anywhere inbetween.
yeah, it's one of those movies you either really love or really hate. depends on what's your cup of tea. as for me, the movie was hilarious. took me 4 times before I actually watched the entire thing though. while it's really funny in some parts, there are also some parts that are rather..... but the two parts that always makes me laugh are when the woman finds the baby Chosen One at a stop in the hill then tosses him down the next part of it, and the bad dubbing with the dog. those and the parts where Wimp-low acts like an idiot "Whoooooo! If you've got an ***, I'll kick it!" but anywho....:toothy:

here are some people who stand out in my mind, and the main things that make them stand out to me. no one bite my head off if I forget anybody or say something weird :bash:. Sephiroth: one of the first people I talked to on the boards way back when, though I'm not sure if he would remember or not, lol. Semjaza Azazel: knows a lot about music, seems like a real nice guy, from looking at some posts he's made during some rather heated arguments in the music/tv forum Wrist Cutter: doesn't try to go with the crowd, but doesn't try to go against it either. isn't afraid to voice when someone's being stupid (as in when somebody's bashing something/someone just to be cute/get attention or whatever), even if it might not be the most popular thing on here. Anna: eh, she can be smart when she tries hard enough *dodges dagger* :p gotta love my stoopid seester! Amiboshi: gaw, she's helped me out with quite a bit of computer stuff lately. plus she's really great to talk to about anime. Transtic Nerve: also one of the first people I ever talked to on here. can be pretty crazy as well :whoops: Crazy White Boy: really smart guy, and I love his avatars :D
Originally posted by Solo Tremaine ...Um... maybe just something like 'I don't think we'd work out' and then explaining why would be how I'd do it....
saying something like that would just make them want to change themselves for you. for example, say this girl told you she liked you, and you told her 'it wouldn't work out' because, well, you told her it was because you both have really different interests or something. more than likely, she'd try her darndest to find out what you liked and do and like the exact things, just to get you to like her. then she could think you'd go out with her then since both of your interests don't seem to be so different anymore, you know what I'm saying? in the long run, you're just getting a copy cattish-stalker-type person. .....okay, so maybe I worded that a bit too bluntly. and it might not happen if the person is mature enough to realize NOT to do that. but it depends on the person and situation, I guess. but yeah, it ain't that great. whenever someone asks me out (hah! as if that happens a bunch) and I don't really want to have something like that with them, I just tell them I think of them more like a friend than a boyfriend. yeah, I know, the whole 'I just want to be friends' bit. but think about it: you're not giving them false hope, but you're not being mean about it either.
Originally posted by Amphion I do agrea. I always tell my friends who ask for advice, Destroy all hope. Dont tell someone some crap like they are real nice you just dont want a boyfirend right then. That tells that person, well usually, that there may be a chance. Then they end up sitting in their room all summer grieving over that person hoping and waiting to finally hook up with them.
usually others will read between the lines when someone says that....usually. though there are some people who really don't want a boy/girlfriend at the time, though you can usually tell who they are from the others. I know what you mean though. but even if you did put it to 'em in lamen's terms, they'd still be grieving either way, can't really get past that. at least that's my experience with the whole issue.
