I can't remember if there was already a thread like this, but I figured I'd post it anyways. so anywho, what would you change about yourself if you were given the opportunity?

I regret some stuff I did (mostly said) when I was a kid in elementary school. yeah, it's only elementary school, but I said some pretty mean stuff back then, particularly in this one incident. I don't want to get in deep about it, except that I'm ashamed I ever did it. yeah, pointless post....

Anime Don't you hate it when one calls an anime " weird"?
amibasuki replied to projekt_navi's topic in Otaku Central
the animation in most anime isn't really all that smooth when compared to stuff from Disney etc.; it is getting better though. and Japanese animation doesn't look as detailed as American animation, though a lot of it does look more appealing. it's not really the quality of the animation that gets me into an anime though anyway. I think that most anime is better than most American animated shows/movies because there's more story to them, and there's not as much restriction when it comes to the content (good and bad thing, but mostly good IMO). well now, since the thread's not closed yet, let's just concentrate on it anyway. maybe if it's a decent favorites thread, they'll leave it open for a while. anywho, my favorite anime has to be either Fushigi Yuugi or Evangelion (I would have put Trigun too, but I've only seen 2 volumes, so...EDIT:3 now :D). since a lot of ppl already know why EVA is so good anyway, I'll just dwell on FY :p. even though it's partly somewhat of a cliche love story, it still has a really good plot with the whole Nakago and the Seiryuu seven fighting against the Suzaku warriors. it's so sad in some parts, but there's also a lot of funny moments too. and I love almost all of FY's characters, especially TASUKI!!! Watase Yuu's works always have such pritty bishounen :D. my favorite manga would be Marmalade Boy, the whole Miki and Yuu thing is really sweet. I already have an idea as to how it's gonna end, but it's still interesting to see what happens to get there . plus I can't forget about Akira, it's probably one of the best sci-fi manga I'm ever gonna read. lol, a lotta my favorites are really shoujo, but they're good :D! plus there's the shounen/sci-fi anime that's really good, I couldn't choose between any of them though, so I just put my favorite out of both categories ^_^,

Fushigi Yuugi definitely has some moments that are too mushy. and the Kenshin OVA was good, except that I think they overemphasized the splattering of the blood a bit much. if Ninja Resurrection is anything like what I've heard about it, then that would probably be really gory as well 0_o'.
Originally posted by ifm2181 Just this morning, my dad finally found out how much I like Sailor Moon, which he said deserves a psych. He's another one of those anal people that doesn't understand something, and therefore, bashes it. Unfortunately for him, he's going to have to live with it for a while.
my mom doesn't like me watching anime either. the main problem she's got with anime is the adult content in it. she has this notion that anything animated is automatically for kids, so she flipped when she heard Tamahome on FY say 'Who the hell are you?!' (yeah, big frickin' deal  ). I watch live-action PG-13 stuff all the time, but she never has a problem with those. anime shouldn't make a difference. now if the content is worse than what I watch on live-action movies and such, I could see why she would have a problem. but like I said, she's closed-minded to the idea that not all anime is porn crap. although I did get her to watch Grave of the Fireflies, and she liked that (although she'd never admit it).... heh, that's what I was thinking. no telling how many different screennames with the name Roxy there are online though, lol.

*dies* YAY! an Aquabats thread! look at the little man in my avatar! :D:D:D he's so awesome! I can't choose what my favorite song from them is, there's so many of 'em I like. I Fell Asleep On My Arm and Dear Spike and the Idiot Box song (forgot what it's called ^_^') are definitely some of my favorites though.

who over the age of 10 calls someone a 'turd', anyway? well, maybe she is around 10, but still. yeah, goes back to the whole acting like an immature child thing.... now that I think about it, beating the dude's face in would actually be a bit immature. take the advice of my school counselor; 'you two should discuss your issues and tell him he hurt your feelings, and that you didn't like it. and all that good stuff.' ah screw it, just punch him
Originally posted by PiroMunkie One of my friends and I always find ways to either mispronounce, or over-pronounce words. We mostly look at so-called "swear" words. Our favorites are "hell" and "damn" (not really swear words though). We feel that there is a reason that there are two 'l's in the word "hell" so we over pronounce it more like "hail" with heavy pronunciation on the 'L' but not really dragging in on like "helllllll". Then when it comes to the word "damn", we gave it two syllables by pronouncing it "day-um".... a bunch of losers we are. :whoops:
:rotflmao: it's so funny hearing some of the ppl down here in the south talk. as an example, the principal at my school pronounces wrestling 'wrassuling'. and I still know some people who pronounce library as 'libary'. that one annoys me to no end, mainly cuz that's how everybody said library back when I was in elementary school. you'd think they'd have been able to fix that problem over the course of 9 years

it's amazing how immature some ppl can be... in short, don't bother w/ the girl, beat the guy's face in

Anime Don't you hate it when one calls an anime " weird"?

Pokemon went mainstream when the anime came out on KidsWB. why it went mainstream? uh, prolly cuz it was just something new that seemed really trendy at the time (for most people). as for weird anime, I've called some anime weird before. the good kind of weird though, if I thought it sucked I'd just say it. ppl that call anime weird (the bad kind) after seeing an actually decent anime, well, that's their loss. they'll prolly do just fine in life without it, they just won't know what they're missing :p. those idiots that preferred Pilot Candidate over Evangelion need to be shot. -
ugh, if there was one saga I hated off of DBZ it was the Frieza saga. the only saga I really like out of DBZ is the Cell saga, with the androids and mirai Trunks and Gohan vs Cell. I also liked the Trunks and Bardock tv specials (along with the last DBZ/GT? movie). I couldn't really get into anything else though.

it is a pretty funny show. but I could live without seeing it. I just watch it whenever it's conveniently on tv.

I loved watching I Dream of Jeannie when I was little.

I'm not really scared of death, but the pain that will probably go along with it, depending on what I die from. 3. creepy guys. I'm talkin' about the really creepy guys......

I get most nostalgic if I hear a song on the radio that I listened to when I was a little kid. either that or old Disney movies I watched around that age also.
-
most of the time when I'm by myself, I'm not as 'reserved' as I would be around others, lol. and if it's just me and my family, then I wouldn't feel too bad about telling somebody to shut up if they were annoying me. basically the only difference is I tone my hyperness and attitude down a slight bit when I'm in public.

usually as long as it has a rather large portion of drama and gets in-depth with the characters, I'm fine with it. it either has to be either really dramatic, or really funny, but both of them together would be great, too. romance is good too, though it's not a must. if there were gonna be any weapons, guns and things of the like would be my choice.

hmmm...I don't like Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, Beyblades (well, I haven't seen it, but it's just another Yu-Gi-Oh case), the Sailor Moon manga, and Medabots. but the one anime I absolutely cannot stand is Pilot Candidate (notice how I said PC, not Megami Kouhosei, though I doubt it's much different subtitled). UGH, I HATE it!! it has some of the worst dubbing quality I've ever heard, the animation is stiff, and the characters are generic-looking. maybe I could've looked over all that if it had an interesting story or something, but it looked like they tried to rip off Evangelion or something. and they did it badly. I watched the first two episodes and almost fell asleep. I don't think it's the absolute worst anime out there, but I still hate it the most anyway, maybe cuz it seems like a rip-off of EVA. but ANYwho...
-
she can sing decently, I guess, but the stuff she sings is crap. she'd be better just sticking to movies.
-
yeah, the only way I got to see Gundam Wing, Trigun, EVA, Ah! My Goddess, Chobits......there's more, but I'll leave it at that....was through other ppl (mostly Queen Asuka :D). but I do try to buy my own as much as possible, so..... oh yeah, Escaflowne! got a little off-topic there, lol....
-
yeah yeah, I know :p, but I didn't have enough money to buy the tv series. and I figured I needed to get a new (as in haven't seen) anime title anyway, so I just picked it up.
-
lol, I just saw the movie, too. it was pretty cool, and the animation was great. the problem I had with it was they didn't go all that in-depth into the characters, and the whole Hitomi and Van thing seemed really all-of-a-sudden, but maybe that's just cuz I haven't seen the tv series or something *shrug*.
