I recently bought the special edition CD re-release of Off The Wall, his first solo album. It includes all of the original tracks (which are pure gold, mind you), and the demo recordings of "Working Day & Night" and "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" he made, with Randy and Janet performing the instruments. Michael Jackson, in my opinion, is a good writer of both lyrics and music. Plus he's a good singer. His dancing was actually more structured a few decades ago than it is today. If you look at MJ dance today, you might think he's having a seizure. But if you look at the video to "Bad" (circa 1987), the choreography is based closely off of the dances from West Side Story. The fact that he looks like he's choking on his own insanity nowadays only contributes to my theory that the real Michael Jackson was kidnapped 15 years ago and replaced by a pale substitute. :p

So the other day, I picked up the complete DVD boxset of the series Firefly. For those of you who don't know, Firefly is a sci-fi television series created by Joss Whedon, who is also famous for creating Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel. Set 500 years into the future, Firefly follows the crew of a run-down firefly-class cargo spaceship named Serenity. It turns out there is no other intelligent life in the universe, and mankind has decided to spread out and live among the stars. Several planetoids and moons were terraformed (made suitable for plant and animal life) and colonized by multiple Earth-based governments until a great war led to the unification of all planets under one Alliance. However, settlers were dropped on their respective moons with little supplies and practically nothing in the way of modern technology. Thus, many places are socially, technologically, and visually equivilant to the Old West in the United States during the 1800's. Ladies and gentlemen, this show is about deep space cowboys. And I love it. Granted, I'm only half-way through the episodes at this point. It was a great TV series, and it's a shame Fox cancelled it. The characters are solid; their stories, their different reactions to situations, they way they all seem to bond. Judging from the looks of it, I'd say this show had a pretty large budget for something only in its first (and sadly last) season. I guess Fox took a chance with Whedon, considering his two prior shows were big hits. A good show. Just a shame I didn't watch it while it was still on the air... not that I ever saw a Fox commercial that gave an air date more specific than "next week."

When you first listen to "Leave (Get Out)" by Jo Jo, a 13 year old new to the music scene, you might pass her up as another marketed pop act with subpar singing ability... sorta like Britney Spears or Hilary Duff. However, sampling a couple of her songs online, I was shocked to realize young Jo Jo actually has talent. No, I'm serious. She can actually sing. Jo Jo is under Blackground Records, a label famous for such artists as rapper-producer Timbaland, Toni Braxton, and singer Aaliyah. From what I understand, she grew up in Boston, Massachusetts and her mother was a trained vocalist. Jo Jo grew up learning to imitate her mother, as well as sing along to old records by Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, and Aretha Franklin. It shows, too. The girl has soul. I bought her self-titled CD, and I admit that I like it. It has a more hip-hop/R&B influence, and even throws back to the 1990s. She does a cover of SWV's "Weak" that's almost identical to the original. She even got around the writing a handful of the songs herself. She's only 13 years old, and she out-shines plenty of singers much older and more successful than herself. Is she just that talented, the others just that bad, or a combination of the two? I'm not really sure. Either way, I suggest a quick check/sampling of this album for anyone who likes R&B in the same style of Aaliyah, Destiny's Child, or Solange Knowles.

Anyone else remember Roundhouse? It was a fast-paced, low budget, musical sketch comedy show on Nickelodeon. I loved it. The cast was talented (in terms of both comedy and singing), the sketches were always hilarious. I used to wonder why Nick cancelled the show, but then I thought back and realized the show was far too mature for kids my age (rather, my age at the time). They used the occasional profane word, for one thing. I remember them making fun of Star Trek and actually saying "Damnit, Jim! I'm doctor!" I also remember this miscommunication that involved talking about homogenized milk. I won't go into detail.

I have to admit, I didn't think this show was going to be good at all. The promos made it look a little boring and really out of place for Adult Swim. Then I caught an episode somewhere down the line. It was brilliant. I forgot how much I love murder mysteries. The stories are well thought-out, the clues check out, and there are plenty of red herrings to throw me off my rocker. I love it. It gives me my fix when there aren't any reruns of Monk on.

Los Diablos, California Tact Industries, Biology Branch Building Jonathan Tact built Tact Industries from the ground up with nothing but hard work, determination, and a few connections in the Underworld. Always interested in the limits and varieties of magic that exist in the universe, Tact has spent the last two decades dabbling in several experiments that will achieve whatever goal it is he wants to achieve. Recently, he and his scientists have been working on a drug that will enhance the magical powers of whoever uses it. This project is in danger, and he knows it. "Excuse me," the receptionist asked at the front desk of the lobby. "Do you have an appointment?" Tact turned and gave her a stern look. She didn't react. "Do you know who I am?" "No, sir. That's why I asked if you had an appointment." "Just-- what does the owner of the company look like?" Tact motioned toward a photo of himself hanging on the wall on the other side of the lobby. The receptionist turned, looked at the photo, looked at Tact, the photo, Tact, the photo, Tact. "Oh my God. Or rather, your God. I'm atheist. Anyway, you're Jonathan Tack!" The receptionist stood up and shook Tact's hand. "It's Tac-t." Tact snatched his hand away from her. "And if you don't believe in some kind of mystical force, you're dead wrong." Tact walked to the elevators, accompanied by his personal assistant and a very large bodyguard. He turned to his assistant. "You're sure it's him, Lloyd?" "Sure as the night is long in the winter," Lloyd replied. "I'll thank you not to use anymore of those colorful little metaphors of yours, Lloyd." There was a ding as the elevator reached the building's sub-basement 4. The three stepped out and entered a meeting room. There they found the staff of scientists and loyal test volunteers waiting. Tact sat at the front of the table, sitting in dead slience for nearly a minute. "You... called us here for something?" Virgil Fodder hesitated to ask, but the slience was beginning to bother him. "Yes," Tact responded. "Yes I have. I wanted to remind you all that what we're doing here is very important. This formula is near perfection, and those of you testing it have shown satisfaction in our last two batches. However, prodution isn't going as quickly as it once was. I don't need to remind you all that what I'm running here is a business, and that as a business, I expect my employees to work and show me results. No results in the past month. I'm beginning to believe that not only are the whole lot of you slowing production to squeeze more money out of my pocket, but someone may have their own agenda. Isn't that right... Dr. Fodder?" "Uh... what?" Fodder gulped. He had been sneaking behind Tact's back, but he was afraid Tact was accusing him of doing something he hadn't done. "Carns," Tact said as he turned to his bodyguard. "Hold him." Carns stood behind Fodder's chair and held his shoulders down. "Doctor... your behavior has been the most erratic out of all my employees. Is there something you'd like to say?" "N--no. No, of course not. What would I--?" "Have you been trading secrets, Dr. Fodder?" "Is that what you think? Trading secrets? No! God, no! The last thing on my mind is making extra money off of this drug." "A drug, is it?" "With all due respect, Tact, we're making the new LSD and giving it a magical boost. It's a drug." "Who have you been telling, Dr. Fodder?" "The PC, alright? The Phoenix f***ing Collective! They know all about this little operation, and they're planning on how to take you down as we speak!" "Carns?" Tact nodded his head at Carns. Carns nodded in return, and placed his hands firmly around Fodder's head. "I'm very disappointed in you, Dr. Fodder. Very disappointed and very very cross." "You can kill me if you want," he said bravely, "but I've alreay told them everything. You know the rules, Tact, and this all could blow open the secrets of the Underworld." "If it suits my needs... then maybe I want the Underworld exposed. For the time being, however, I have to brief the rest of the staff on how we're going to deal with this little Phoenix problems you've caused." "What about me?" "You won't be hearing the briefing, Dr. Fodder. I'm afraid you won't be here in spirit or mind. However, you will be here in body. Carns? Snap him."

Ok, class. Here's why I'm closing this thread... 1) Bad post quality. Your posts don't do much to spark conversation and are badly composed. 2) No double-posting. In fact, no quadruple-posting.

Prelude... "The thing with evil, is that evil isn't without reason. Evil has a purpose. It's the opposite of good. See, evil's existance is already justified. But we're not talking about evil, here. We're talking about bad. Bad has no purpose. Bad is illogical. People like you and me, we exist in secret. Regardless of how evil you are, you should know better than to risk exposure. What you did, my friend, was bad. Now put down the gun, come quietly, and take your trial like a good vampire." It was day. A young vampire named Frank Grell had slaughtered a small family of humans. He was fresh, just sired a few weeks prior. He had no idea there were laws against behaving like a horror film archtype. It also didn't help that he was only a teenager, impulsive, and strung-out on the blood of a druggie. After killing the family, he hid in their home for a full week; coming out only at night, of course. It didn't take long for him to attract the attention of the Phoenix Collective's exposure department, who promptly sent agent Theo Curry to arrest the failed Mr. Grell. Grell wasn't going quietly, however. He found a gun in the home, and likewise found himself in a stand-off with Curry. "I'm not goin' out like this!" Grell shouted, the gun shaking in his hand. "It's day! Don't think I don't know what I am! You're gonna kill me. I'm gonna step outside of this house, and you're gonna kill me." "Calm down." Curry steadily held his gun in Grell's direction. "We have a van. It's right outside the garage. We load you in, nobody gets vaporized." "Then what? Huh, man?! You stake me? You dip me in holy water? You feed me garlic bread?" "We have a court system. You'll go on trial, and you'll get jail time. You live forever, so you can survive the life sentences. You could even plea for underworld ignorance. It's slim, but you might get away with it. Garlic? Urban legend. Hollywood glamour." "I don't wanna die, man. I don't wanna die." Grell started to cry. His arm slowly dropped and the gun's line of fire drifted away from Curry. Curry took this opportunity to walk toward him and grab the gun, but in a fit of confusion, Grell raised his hand and fired. Curry's black blazer had a rip in its shoulder. "Damn." Curry rolled behind a table. "Don't make me do this, Grell! Don't make me do this!" "You're not taking me, you son of a--" "Tried to warn you..." Curry stood up and shot Grell square in the forehead. The bullets were blessed. As all vampires do, Grell's body shrivled to a pile of velvety skin and bone as his blood flowed from his wound and soaked into the shag carpet. When the final drop was drained, his remains turned to ash. Curry holstered his gun in the strap hidden behind his blazer, and walked outside. "Somebody get a vaccum, carpet shampoo, and a good disinfectant spray. There's vampire all over the shag." He reached into his pocket and pulled out his sunglasses. Just as he put them on, an agent walked up to him with a mobile phone in hand. "It's Director Moore. Says he has another case for you." "Tell 'em the nymph's on his way." Phoenix Collective Underworld Law [Rated R for language and violence] Demons, fairies, aliens... Figures that exist only in literature, film, and our imaginations. Right? Operating publicly and from the shadows is a law enforcement agency known as the Phoenix Collective. Composed of creatures from across this and other worlds, the PC is dedicated to upholding the laws of the Underworld and the Clandestine Federation that governs it. Completely unknown to the general public, the PC keeps lifeforms thought only to exist in myth in line. Theodore Curry, a man born of a human father and a water nymph mother... He walked through the halls of the Phoenix Collective headquarters. Actually, it was the San Bajo branch. It was another annonymous office building in downtown San Bajo, and as far as outsiders were concerned, they could be manufacturing paper. Curry approached the door to Director Moore's office. Shortly before knocking, Moore spoke from the other side, telling Curry to come in. "It sucks having a precog for a boss," Curry remarked as he stepped through and sat down, "Takes all the fun out of barging in." "No time for jokes, Kojak..." "I so wanna point out the irony of what you just said--" Curry quickly chimed in, pointing out Moore jokingly calling him Kojak. "...There's a big one coming. You know Jonathan Tact?" "Head of Tact Industries, right? Has friends in high places. Friends in low places, too, if I recall. Never met him personally." "You probably know about Tact's bio division. They manufacture drugs." Moore opened one of the drawers to his desk and pulled out a blue folder. "It's usually standard Overworld pharmacueticals; pain relievers, anti-histamines, those social disorders the doctors keep making up to make more money. We've been suspicous of his activities for some time now, so we sent in a mole to keep watch." "It wouldn't be a celebrity mole, would it? It's always the model." "Be serious, Curry." Moore opened the folder and revealed several documents and pictures of a large factory. "Tact has been working on a new drug that, if taken, will augment the magical powers of the user. Like all drugs, it takes a poll on the person's mind, but--" "Whoa! Hold the phone there, sir. I work in the exposure department-- casually dabbling into homicide, not mystic narcotics." "You don't know the rate he's producing this stuff. If even a small portion of this stuff hits the streets, we're dealing with major Underworld exposure. I've already assembled a team of select agents from the exposure, narcotics, and homicide departments. You'll be leading them in an investigation of Tact Bio." "But why me? Shouldn't someone from narcotics being leading this?" "I chose you to lead because-- well, let me show you." Moore reached back into his drawer, this time pulling out a small vile of a strange liquid. "You're half water nymph. What's this in my hand?" "Hmm. I'm sensing a few mystic elements, some acidic ingredients, and a hint of cocaine for flavor. That the stuff?" "Yes. Curry, you're the closest thing to a water nymph in this organization without the nymphomaniacal sex drive. You can sense this stuff, and you'll have to be the one to sniff it out... metaphorically. Don't actually sniff it." Moore handed Curry the blue folder. "Everything you need to know is in here. The team should be meeting for the first time tonight." "Location?" "The San Bajo pier. Don't let me down, Curry." "You can count on me, chief." "Don't call me chief! I won't have my agents using ridiculous Cockney slang and euphemisms to belittle my Director's title." "Sure thing, boss." "...just go, Curry."

Sign Up Phoenix Collective: Underworld Law [17+]

PC Agents: Rei_Man as Elissa Thorne SpiritOfAnime as May SilverCyclone as Revus Ashburn Dmitri_Dragoon as Darian Dumore sweetreyes as Annalee Treman Why You Did Not Make It In*: Anna & Akira: You hadn't finished your sign-ups as of the time of this post. CloueX: I find a 4,000 year old vampire a tad far-fetched (especially if they're a mere "secret civil servant"). Also, samurai (not spelled "sameri") are Japanese and were not part of the year 1760BC Chinese dynasty. Imi: You did not specify a demonic type and 3,000 years is a tad too old for a demon to simply be an underworld law-woman. *Notes You can make it in if you feel like editing any of those discrepancies in your sign-up posts. Sign-ups will continue. I'll start the RPG itself in a few days, and I'll send out Private Messages to notify all accepted characters. I'd also like to encourage others to sign up as bad guys. The way I have this story mapped out in my mind, some of you might actually want to be bad. Granted, some of the good guys are already evil... sweetreyes: If you feel you can juggle two characters, feel free to sign up as another. -
Demons, fairies, aliens... Figures that exist only in literature, film, and our imaginations. Right? Approximately 60 years ago, a small troop of humanoid explorers arrived on planet Earth, which was locked in the heat of a world war. The visitors, who wanted peaceful relations with all of Earth's governments, soon discovered that the world was in fact not ruled by humans. For hundreds of years, an Underworld has existed that is inhabited by demons, fairies, and other creatures of folklore. With the help of these visitors from space, the Underworld secretly integrated new technology into society. The Underworld has tried to discredit its own existance by creating fictional images of itself in the media. After all, who believes anything they see in the movies? Operating publicly and from the shadows is a law enforcement agency known as the Phoenix Collective. Composed of creatures from across the world, the PC is dedicated to upholding the laws of the Clandestine Federation and keeping their existance unknown from the general public. A business mogul named Jonathan Tact started a multi-billion dollar company with nothing but hard work, determination, and a few strong connections in the Underworld. Since then, however, he has lost contact with his supernatural resources. A mole in his company has reported that Tact is involved in secret experimentations that will combine the essence of untamed magic with the human soul to create the perfect mage. His ultimate goal: a black market magic-augmenting drug. If these experiments succeed, it could alter the balance of power and crime within both the Underworld and the public Overworld. The Phoenix Collective has called in a crack team of investigators to find out what they can about Tact's experiments and shut him down. -------------------------------- And there you have it. I'm going for a more modern day, noir, mystery feel in this adventure, mixed with a little bit of sci-fi and fantasy. You can sign up as an assortment of races, be they elves, vampires, humanoid aliens, sorcerers, or just normal humans. All characters can use magic and advanced technology, but certain characters will excel at them above others. All races will be arranged in 5 categories... [Demons] Demons may be evil, but that doesn't mean they're irrational. An Underworld law has been passed that prevents demons such as vampires and werewolves (or anything else you can think of) from stalking the night and killing unnecessarily. They have a begrudged truce with all other races, and think themselves above humanity. They excel at dark magic, cannot cast light magic, and are fairly moderate in most forms of technology. Can be a PC agent. [Fairies] Elves, dark elves, dwarves, gnomes, nymphs, and pixies (and anything else in that vein) make up the Fairy Kingdom. They have a special bond with nature, but have recently started to integrate technology into their society. They also recently started becoming involved in the affairs of other non-fairy races. They excel at light magic, are fairly moderate in dark magic, but have the worst time adjusting to technology. Can be a PC agent. [Aliens] Although they appear human, they are not of this world. They have inhabited this planet for half a century, and have begun to dwell amongst other members of the Underworld. Their level of technology is unmatched, but they do not completely understand the concept of magic. Thus, they cannot cast any form of magic. Feel free to make up your own planet of origin if you choose to become an alien. Can be a PC agent. [Humans] While most humans are unaware of the Underworld, there are some that help maintain its secrets. They are weary of all other races, but work with them nonetheless. Their level of technology is second to the aliens, and they can cast all forms of magic in equal succession. Their ability to cast these spells varies from human to human. Can be a PC agent or T-Mage. [T-Mages] The experimental soldiers working for Tact Biological Inc. Their level of magic is exceedingly high, but difficult to control. They also have access to advanced technology and are completely loyal to their suppliers within Tact's company. Cannot be PC agents. I'll be playing two characters: The leader of the PC team, and Jon Tact himself. If you have any other questions about this RPG, feel free to ask. And the moment you've all been reading for... [Sign-Up] Name: Pick a name. Any name. Gender: Male or female. No making things up or going asexual. :) Race: Be specific. If you want to be a dark elf, don't just say "fairy." Age: Anywhere above the age of 18. Feel free to adjust for immortality or oddball aging. Alliance: Phoenix Collective or Tact Bio. Skills: What you're character is good at. Tools: Any equipment your character carries. Description: Remember, you have to look at least somewhat human. PC operates publicly. Feel free to take a few liberties, though. Biography: The obligatory life story. ---------------------------------- Name: Theodore Curry Gender: Male Race: Human and Naiad (Water Nymph) Age: 52 (appears to be in his mid 20s) Alliance: Phoenix Collective (team leader) Skills: Being the son of a water nymph, Curry has the ability to sense and analyze the presence of water as well as age at a slow rate. He is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant who is credited with excellent strategizing skills and a keen mind. Tools: Sunglasses with infared vision, a pistol in his jacket, and another pistol holstered to his back. Description: Short in stature, but makes up for it in style. Curry tends to dress well wherever he goes, sporting slacks, a blazer, and a pair of infared sunglasses. He has a dark tan skin tone, and an almost bald haircut. Biography: Officially, Ted Curry is a child prodigy who worked his way up to become a researcher for the FBI. Truthfully, however, Curry is a man in his early 50's who ages slower than the average human being. Raised by a human father and born from a Naiad water spirit, Curry is an immortal who used his connections in the Underworld to create the identity of a 24 year old researcher and anthropologist. After getting involved in an incident with two rogue agents, Curry left the FBI to join the Phoenix Collective as a field agent. Suffering from too much Kojak in his youth, he enjoys to jokingly suck on lollypops and asks friends to call him Theo. Being half-nymph, his sexual appetite sometimes inhabits his judgement. He'll try not to let this get in the way of his new task: to lead a team of PC agents in an investigation of Tact Bio.

My favorite Sonic game is probably 3 for the Genesis. I really enjoy playing as Tails, and unlike Sonic 2, you had full control over his flying ability in 3. Me and my brother used to team up in Sonic 2 and 3, with me always as Tails. I'd clear everything and grab all of the item boxes in the dangerous spots (because player 2 couldn't die or lose rings), so we really just breezed through the game. I loved Sonic Spinball. Granted, I never made it past the lava/factory level, but I'm just a pinball fan. I only played a demo of Adventure on my cousin's Dreamcast demo disc, so I never got the hang of that game. I only played Adventure 2's "vs" mode at a friend's house and watched him play one level alone. So my opinions of those games don't really count for anything. Still, I think they were alright. I bought Sonic Heroes last week, so I guess that's technically the first 3D Sonic game I've played. I'm a little upset that Tails is such a bad character to play as longer than 10 seconds in this game-- at least in my opinion. I just don't like Fly characters here. Other than that, pure fun. I also like the emerald bonus stages.

For as long as I can remember, I've been on-again, off-again drawing. I used to draw a lot when I was little. Around my early teens, I stopped drawing, but managed to whip up the occasional fan art. Well, a few months ago, I decided to start drawing again. I even bought a sketch pad. :) Now, I've never been very good at this. I never like to show off my drawings (because they're so bad), so I never get any kind of criticism or advice. I figured, what the hey! I'll put my most recent work on OB and see what they have to say. This drawing was done earlier today. They started as two separate drawings, but they were made with the intent to be drawn as a couple. They were both colored and combined in PhotoDeluxe. The background was obviously lacking in creativity, but I only did it to avoid a blank background. I erased the paper smudges and crumple marks everywhere except their clothes, which I thought could use the texture. Thoughts?

I read a few semi-spoilers, and I think the overall story of the film sounds good. For a while there, I was worried the movie would just be the Year One arc (which I'm not fond of, actually). The photos of Bale as Batman and Wayne look good. Although I am curious about the Bat-suit itself. I can't tell if this suit is going to be rubber like the Burton/Schumacher movies, or some sort of cloth. Although from what I can tell, it might be sorta cloth-ie. I guess I'll just have to wait for a trailer before I start making any year-long plans.

bigmatt, please do not post in all CAPS. It distracts readers, can actually prevent people from wanting to read your posts, and it's just not cool anymore.

Comic shops are a tad scarce around here, so I end up buying all of my comics from Borders Books/Music/Cafe. Which, in turn, means I read nothing but trade paperbacks. You can imagine how long I waited for The Ultimates to come out with a second volume. What's it been? A year? Reading it was worth the wait, though. I like their interpretation of the Skrull. I was reading Ultimate Spider-Man, but it seems like it hasn't been going anywhere since the Venom story. Bendis (who seems to be writing at least a dozen comics all at once) somehow crossed-over Ult. Spider-Man and X-Men several times, each doing very little for me. I liked New X-Men, especially how the first part of it blew everything out of the water... literally. The X-Men universe changed drastically, and all at once. I liked where the whole Phoenix thing was going, but it's like they decided to
kill her off for the sake of that damn Scott-Emma affair; which, by the way, I didn't like. I thought the hints at it were funny, but it all went downhill when they actually implied Scott had feelings for Emma and Jean died.
But just don't get me started on the whole Xorn thing... Joss Whedon writing an X-Men title? Must pick up. I can already imagine his slang-play at work... I've never been one to read Fantastic Four, but I read Unthinkable and Authoritative for the hell of it... then I ended up liking them for the hell of it. Good stuff. I was wondering when constantly battling Dr. Doom would finally take its toll on the team. You know, I've always liked Marvel over DC. DC has this habit of rarely changing anything about their characters. Superman hasn't changed permanantly in over a decade. In fact, the writers seem to be retro-grading him back to his pre-crisis form (bringing back Krypto, Kara, ect.)

Cid is the king of Final Fantasy. You know it's true, because he's been in almost half of the games. :p Seriously, though. He's like some kind of running-gag background character who managed to sneak into most of the first 7 games. He's built airships, toyed with summon-espers, gone into battle. He's done it all, and across several FF universes. Do you think his appearance in so many games is a coincidence? He's obviously running the show. It's just that nobody notices...
-
I started reading this a few months ago, but I never got around to watching the show on Toonami. Darn schedule conflicts. I really like the story. At first, it looks like the ultimate anime cliche; teenager with large sword, cute magical animal, ect. But it's actually pretty well done and funny. The name of Haru's sword confused me for a while, actually. I believe it was called the Ten Commandments in the first volume, and the Ten Powers in all proceeding books.
*winces* I love Magus dearly, but I really[/i'] could've done without the codpiece.
Agreed. What are they trying to say about Magus with this character design? I like their design of The End of Time. Granted, not a lot of work has to go into that particular scene, but I think it's a nice recreation. Same with the rest of scenery. They all look exactly like the original game. Chrono is too bulky, though. I mean, maybe if he were a few years older and his backstory wasn't "kid going to the fair with a toy sword," then that might work. Also, I think his legs are disproportionally short, but just barely.

I'm quite the Spider-Man fan, but I think it's a little late to bring that movie up. Although I am looking forward to the sequel this summer. I'm finding it a little difficult to read the comic, what with losing track of the multiple titles. Can someone help me out? Which title is going to give me current-day Spidey? Not another teenager title. I recently started reading Runaways, which is a good book. I'd love to see the first volume turned into a movie. It's not like other superhero books, and the beginning comes off more as a mystery-type story than action.

I'm going with Raven. I'd be lying if I said her dark attitude had nothing to do with it. I like her dry sense of humor, her calm demeanor, and the way her powers are directly controlled by her emotions. I also like her past, and I hope the animated series goes more into her relationship with her father. It'd be nice if they made her a villain... you know, the whole thing where her father takes over... only without the botched Robin-Starfire wedding. I like Beast Boy for his sense of humor. Not because he's funny, but because he doesn't care that he isn't funny. Also, I find the quick-cut animation used in his transformations funny. Maybe it's because I'm such an animation nut. He's also really creative with his transformations. He's not going to turn into a ram everytime he wants to ram somebody... sometimes he'll turn into a rhino, bull, ect. They need to bring the whole Slade thing to a close. He just doesn't come off as the type of villain who spans more than one season. I was really disappointed when he came back for season 2-- and with what up his sleeve? Terra? They need to bring Jericho into the show and bring the whole Slade story home. Introduce a new freaking villain. Please. And the Titans West. I just think it'd be funny to see a friendly superhero competition. Although I'd really like to see the writers come up with something close to a team lineup for them...
Actually I am very glad that she wasn't, I honestly think she and Willow ruined the episodes they were in, when they did those cameo apperances in the show. It just didn't work at all. Now as for Faith though, I think that she worked perfectly in Angel and even better then when she was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.[/color']
I agree that Buffy's cameos only seemed to make episodes worse. I just never liked what her presence did to his character. I didn't like Angel when he was on her show, I didn't like Angel when she made cameos on his show, but I liked Angel as long as Buffy was nowhere in sight. Hell, Angel was in love with Cordelia, but she didn't whither him down to a de-fanged shell of his former self. I think Willow's cameos, however, were well placed. They were usually very short, anyway. Cordelia calls her to ask about Harmony. That cameo lasted a good 5 minutes. She shows up to tell Angel Buffy killed herself. That cameo was a brief 10 seconds. Willow's only long cameo was the episode she re-ensouled Angel, and I enjoyed that episode. Her chemistry with Fred was funny. I do wish, however, that Buffy would have at least appeared in the episode "The Girl In Question." I wanted to see Buffy and The Immortal, even if Angel and Spike never did catch up to them. You know, sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who liked Illyria. Most fans hate her because Fred's character had to completely die in the process. But I saw so much potential in her character, especially after
Wesley's death
. The same can be said for Kennedy (Willow's second girlfriend). They were only on their respective shows for one season (specifically the last season), and I think fans would've eventually warmed up to them. Goodness knows nobody liked Riley at first, but fans were strangely sad to see him go. And while I'm on my long-winded streak... Nina. Her character was handled so badly. Buffy had a new boyfriend every other week on her show (Riley, Ben, a couple of dates during college, that guy Xander set her up with, even Spike). Angel was left with his ex coming back to life (Darla) and Cordelia. Then when they both (sadly) have their respective deaths, and we learn that Angel can have sex without consequence, he gets Nina. How many episodes was she in? 3? Their best moments together took place when he was a puppet. They could've at least sprinkled her into the background for a few episodes. Having her around more probably would've actually made
her breakup with Angel
sad.
