Serena had like 3 voice actresses in the dub. The third one sounded like the second one with a bad cold. The second one is the one with the over-done scream. She's the one everyone knows. Nobody seems to know about that first voice actress who lasted for 3 episodes and actually sounded good. Anyway, there's a lot of over-done voices out there. I don't want to have to bring up Yugi-Oh

DBZ is not the greatest series in the world, but I still like it. Yes, FUNimation did a lot of changes to the show and no, I don't like a lot of them. But doesn't FUNimation subtitle the episodes on DVD, too? This is a serious question, I'm not throwing any harsh opinions on you. Do they put unedited subtitles on the DVDs? Maybe it's me, but at some point, I actually got over it! Honestly, they're almost through with the series. All the complaining isn't going to make them backtrack and re-dub the entire series all over again. Besides which, I think the edits are funnier than they are annoying. I mean, did any of you actually believe Goku, Yamcha, Tienshinhan, and Choa-zu really went to another dimension? Of course not! Now, laugh with me! Yes, I know I just wrote "t-i-e-n-s-h-i-n-h-a-n." I was referring to the dub name of Tenshinhan. FUNimation actually left in his full name in one episode. Funny, huh?

To quote Kent Brockman, "excuse my editorial laugh!" Did you just refer to SOS Save Our Sailors? That's the site that said if everyone bought plain strawberry Poptarts on the same day, new episodes of Sailormoon would be dubbed and aired. That's the site that said new episodes would be released if everyone bought Luna-P toys. Oh, and it's the site that said Sailor Uranus wasn't a lesbian.

 How could I forget Get Smart? I'll never forget the time when the Cone of Silence landed on the other side of the room... and when it didn't lower enough... and when it lowered too much and almost crushed the Chief and Maxwell Smart.

I remember this scene in Tenchi Muyo! in Love where Ryoko was loaned some of her p.e. teacher's clothes for class, then she sees the p.e. teacher scratch himself! The way she wigs out is priceless.

Yes! I totally agree with Semjaza Azazel.

Well, the only uncensored dubs of Sailormoon are the three movies on DVD (maybe on VSH, too). I suggest you get the subtitles of you want uncensored episodes.

Compared to some other series I've seen and heard about, Outlaw Star actually had a pretty good ending. It even got the whole "happy ending" thing across without giving me cavitives, so that's good.

It's kinda sad what they've done to that series. I only want them to bring the show back to Toonami for 2 reasons. 1: I never saw Moon and Chibi Moon switches ages. I heard about it, but I don't own that episode in Japanese. 2: The Sailormoon Uncensored website needs to finish their Japanese/dub comparisons.

How I can I phrase this? There's no way to prove there isn't intelligent life out there.

I remember I saw this short skit made by the Sophmore class at my school. They couldn't say "success."
Congratulations! Your mission was a sus-sess
Um... you asked this exact same question in the other Dragons thread.

Oh, I loved the Monkees TV show! Mickey was hilarious! And I think it was them who first got me into listening to 60s music.
-
Well, I've never seen it. I just knew it'd be on Adult Swim, so I sorta reported it.

Just downloading something off the Timmy Computer Network. Timmy: Sorry about the trophy. Dad: Why don't you give it to a girl you think is groovy? The pun being that Timmy's godparents told a young Bill Gates to call the internet "Timmy" instead. I liked that episode.

It took me a long time to figure I was pronouncing "ask" wrong. I used to say "ax." I still can't say "asks" (plural)! I used to say "azz" but now it comes out "askiss" I remember the first time I read "Antigone" (the name of a Greek play). It's pronounced "an-ti-gon-ee" but I used to say "an-ti-gon" For fun, I like to say "dangerous" with a short "g" so it sounds like "dan-gir-us" I don't know about you all, but I'm tired of people saying "scurred" instead of "scared."

Yes, I believe in aliens. Hundreds of them cross the border everyday. (j/k) I think that there are aliens, but I doubt that any of them have ever reached Earth (or at least in this lifetime). There could be aliens out there, but we have no idea how far they would have to travel to get here or if any of them can even reach Pluto! Chances are, there's a planet out there exactly like this one with life on it. When I say "exactly like this one" I mean the planet itself is probably orbiting a sun like ours from around the same distance as we are. I don't mean there's another you and me surfing a forum like this one on the other side of the galaxy... although that would be funny. Frankly, I blame our infatuation with alien life on that War of the World radio show.

Hey! Quit bad-mouthing Tenchi Muyo! Anyway, I think they didn't show it last Saturday... or I just missed it. Anyway "Ha!" to all who doubted me! I told you there was a GITS TV series! And about them editing the shows... well, they will be on Adult Swim, so they'll probably tone it down to TVPG or TV14, instead of TVY7 (excuse the all-caps)

Actually, it was recently confirmed that the original cast would be returning for the movie, so there's nothing to worry about. This petition can be put to rest. Besides which, SAG (the Screen Actor's Guild) has no say over what voice actors can do, hence SCREEN Actors Guild. If you want to get an on-screen job, you have to sign up with SAG. Voice actors don't have to sign with SAG because they never appear on-camera. I don't see how they could even be involved.

I've been watching Nick-at-Nite for as long as I can remember. I love watching old sitcoms like I Love Lucy, Mr. Ed, Dick Van Dike, and Bewitched. Those shows were great. And back then, they made twice as many episode per season as they do now. The jokes were cleaner, but they were still funny. If I weren't born in the 80s, I'd feel old from watching all of these black-n-white shows. Does anybody else like shows made before 1970? (bit of trivia) Q: Actor Bob Denver is most famous for playing what character from what TV show?

2 questions... First off, what is your definition of "mainstream anime"? When does an anime become mainstream? Do you think there's a difference between mainstream anime and dubbed anime? (some people don't, but I do) Secondly, if you're against mainstream anime, why? What makes anime better when it's not mainstream? One thing that's always bothered me is how some people used to say how they wished more people watched anime, but now suddenly hate "mainstream." I need this cleared up. What do you think mainstream anime is, and why do you hate it (if you do)?
Originally posted by Darkened Skye DBGT is an official series and a fanfic at the same time. It's a fanfic in the fact that Toriyama didn't make it, it's a series in the fact that FUNImation did. Remember, as long as Toriyama or FUNImation gives it the OK, it's an official series. Like the Star Trek books.
FUNimation didn't make Dragonball GT. FUNimation just dubs it into English. You were probably thinking of Toei.
Originally posted by Marron347 i am a little confused. if porunga could bring someone back to life, wouldn't guru have been able to do that too?If he coould do that then why didn't he just bring piccolo to Namek himself during the freiza saga instead of making gohan and kirillin find all seven dragonballs?
A question that has plagued me for the longest time. If the dragon can only do what its creator can do, then can't Guru/Souchiro and Kami bring people back to life by themselves?

Oh yeah, I should've explained that... a TV series version of Ghost in the Shell only recently started airing in Japan. I don't even know if it's finished. Personally, I've never seen Inuyasha. I was just told that Cartoon Network got ahold of it. If it's being showed on Adult Swim, I'm sure it won't be edited too much. I mean, Cowboy Bebop wasn't edited for TV half as much as DBZ. And I got my info from a friend who heard this announcement at a convention. I'll ask her for more details about this GITS TV series, if you want.
