I'm sorry mister Moderator, but isn't the thread about punk bands not just the "Ramones killing disco or such," I thought that if i was to post another thread about punk music that would be considered spam, but no, it's what I'm supposed to do. I said that the current conversation bored me, what I should have said was the current conversations bore me. Because all I was trying to do was open up another conversation about punk music (in OMG, a thread about punk music). Maybe I chose the wrong wording and shouldn't have said I was "trying to change the subject", but dude, if you didn't want to be involved in the punk music quiz and you wanted to talk about the other conversations than ignore my post. But don't go all high and mighty on me.

I'm bored so I am going to start a thread about one of my favourite movie's The Stupids. In my oppinion this movie is a work of pure genious, I have yet to see a movie that has topped this movies humor (although Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Zoolander, UHF, Robin Hood Men In Tights, and Kung-Pow: Enter the Fist all come in at a tying, second-place.) I won't be suprised if many of you haven't heard of this movie, I'm pretty sure it bombed when it came out, so it's not too popular, but I will always love it. I would also like to point out that if you have seen it no matter how much you hated it (not that you did) you can't deny that it had one of the greatest cameos ever, Christpher Lee (who many of you will know by his parts as Count Duku, and Saruman) as the made-up evil villain Sender! It also had many other memorable scenes such as, the scene where Stanly(the father) starts sing I'm my own Grandpa, or when Stanly and Petuna (the daughter) die (or so they think) and meet the maker The Lloyd ("All these years we've been saying it wrong!"). As you can probably tell by now I love this movie with a passion and would love to hear other people thoughts, good or bad (I just won't except the bad ones as true, thought out comments), about it.

If you could be anyone? who would you be
OlgaTheDwarf replied to XC SpydeR's topic in General Discussion
I'd want to be Mario! Because he's ugly, fat (so he doesn't have to workout) and he still gets the girl! (Editor's note: the Editor would like to point out that despite the name OlgaThe Dwarf is a guy.) Anyhoo, I would have to agree with Drix D'Zanth on the topic of being a Martyr! I think it would be awesome, so many people die in vain or for incredibly dumb reasons, and dying as a martyr is accomplishing something as you die. I don't mean to offend anyone, but I would hate to die the way that person died at Disney land a few days ago, but not because he died, because he will always be remembered by most people as "the guy who died in a freak accident at disney land." It would suck to to die that way, especially because, contrary to Bond theory, you can only die once and once you've died that's it, no comming back, it's the end of your story. Having a story that ends in a stupid freak accident is just not a way I would like to leave this earth. I would much rather be remember as dying the Glorious Death of a Martyr! So yeah, I would love to choose to be a Martyr, but that kind of defeat the purpose if I was to choose, so I'll leave it up to God. -
Because the current conversation bores me I'm going to try and change the subject. Punk-music Quiz: What does the name MXPX stand for? (hint: It was what they originaly went by.)
Originally posted by wrist cutter My favorite punk band is Creed.
lol... That comment deserves more recognition than it seemed to get so I'll re-post it for all. Anyhoo, I have a profound dislike for most of the bands listed in the poll (the others I just haven't cared enough to listen and pass judgement on), but I do enjoy punk. One band that I think everybaody should check-out if they want to hear something out of the ordinary generic (most of what's listed above), is mewithoutYOU. This bands album, A--->B life , is one of my favourite cd's. So if you enjoy the "art punk" (yeah I'm a genre whore) styles of bands like At The Drive In you should check mewithoutYOU out.

Hey Desbreko, what's your definiton of weapons. All I'm saying is that hands could be considered weapons, and if that is your def. than it's every game that Ganon fights you in, DUH! (ok this is probably spam [so please don't ban me] because my only reason for posting it is for you to see my new avatar... but if the question bugs you I've accomplished more.)

OMG!!! How could you guys forget The Cowboys of Moo-masa(I currentely can't remember how to spell it.) On a more serious note, my favourite cartoon of all time has to be the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ! How could you not like that show, It was four green teenagers who love pizza fighting an evil brain from demension X who teamed up with their masters arch enemy, an instant classic!!! anyway I used to be obsessed with the Ninja Turtles, I have so much ninja turtle crap (including, but not limited to, the very hot and sought after ninja turtles bed sheets.)

All I can say about this movie is that Christopher Walken was the headless horseman so it's automatically awesome. Actually, I would probably have to watch it again to really remember much more so I really haven't anything else to say.
-
I have a question, since I did care to not watch it. Did Evanescence make any appearences and if so, was it the entire band or just Ben Moody and Amy Lee?

Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past. I believe it has 11, three before 3 in hyrule, 7 in the golden land, and Ganon's castle. Q: In OOT, where are the pictures of Mario Bros. gang located.

Ok, and hello, I'd like to welcome you to the Stretch Armstrong band thread (not the doll that was filled with corn syrup.) I thought that this great hardcore punk band derserves some OB recognition. So in honor of their third Album release, Engage, I have decided to make the world a better place and start, the official, Stretch Armstrong OB thread!!! So without any further ado I command you to speak about this band.

OlgaTheDwarf replied to nkid99's topic in Noosphere
I have heard of the but I am sad to say that I haven't heard them, but from how they are being described I think I might check them out. -
I know another very good cover of Rolling Stone's Paint It Black. It was done by the band The Agony Scene. But my very favourite cover song is Stretch Armstrong's cover of Pink's Get This Party Started.

A: By ordering him to (I don't know the exact choices but I remember that it was the opposite of being polite.) If I'm right here's my question. Q: What name did I use for my character in Majora's Mask. (hehe)

Best Music News of the Year (at least for me.)
OlgaTheDwarf replied to OlgaTheDwarf's topic in Noosphere
Actually though they are Christians, I don't really consider them a "christain" band, I don't mean that they hide from it but that I see MOST music as good or bad. I think that most people push what's labeled as "christian" music into the bad music catergory based on that label even though some of the "christian" bands have equal if not more talent than some bands that aren't christians. Even some bands that don't write about God, but are on a "christian" record label end up sharing the same fate. As for Zao, I listen to a lot of hardcore (both "christian" and non-christian) and find that they are one of the best (in my opinion THE best) in the field. As do many of my friends (both Christians and non-Christians). -
when do you guy go back to the hellhole aka school?
OlgaTheDwarf replied to darkside's topic in General Discussion
Originally posted by Ogki Do you honestly think that the Columbine children wouldn't have done the horrible things they did if they never played Doom, or never heard Marilyn Manson? They still would have, because kids were picking on them and no one was doing anything about it.
Well, you certainly know very little about what happened at Columbine. Yes, I honestly believe, after listening to Rachel Joy Scott's (one of the people who was killed) father talk about it, that if they hadn't ever done those things they wouldn't have committed those crimes. Now, I'm not saying that violence in the media is the reason they did it, no, but it did play a very key roll. They didn't just play Doom, and watch violent movies, they let those things consume them, in fact, they would upload the faces of the classmates to Doom and practice killing them, plus they also bragged about watching Natural Born Killers over 100 times (or some big number like that.) Plus, not everyone picked on them they chose to hate even the people who were nice to them. I believe it has a lot to do with the parents, and being responsible for what their children are exposed too. I feel that it's very important for parents to know their children and to limit what they can and can't see/play/listen to. If the parents of the kids who shot up Columbine had known what there kids had been doing before the shooting they could have maybe done something about it, but they chose to be idiots and didn't even know about the many illegal weapons that the kids hid in their own house. A lot of parents today have the stupid "whatever" attitude about how to raise their kids, they don't ever discipline them and that's what the kids need the most. Yes, I think by having violent media easily accessible to anyone it is definitely taking risks that a few phsycos are going to come up and do horrible things, but the responsibility rests mostly with the parents.

What's the best love song that you've heard?
OlgaTheDwarf replied to Demonic Angel's topic in Noosphere
Originally posted by erinzyger I'd definately have to say "Only Hope" by Mandy Moore. *sigh* Yes, definately.
Is that the song she sings in the movie A Walk To Remember ? Because if it is then it isn't by her. It was originally written and performed by the band Switchfoot, I believe. Anyway, I would say 5 Year Winter by Zao (LOL). -
Who knows what the future holds, but as of right now music is a big part of my life. I am always being told by my Dad that, "when you're 40 you won't like the same music as you do now". I usually come to the realization that change happens but for some reason I still can see myself listening to the same kind of music 20 years from now. I do know that it's very common for people to grow out of things with age, but I still think that every person is different. I always find it interesting (and odd) when I see 50+ people in mosh-pit, and the drummer of the hardcore band .hopesfall. is 36. So I think that I can see myself as that 50+ guy moshing, Lord willing. I appologize if this post is hard to understand and repetitive I'm REALLY tired. P.S. Good ORIGINAL thread idea!
